LOVE this AMC location. I frequent the theater every week due to being a A-lister and have never had a bad experience due to the service and/or food. The reason I give it 4/5 stars is because during weekends with increased crowds many theaters go uncleaned between showings which is not fair for the next person. I understand turn around is fast with the amount of showings for popular movies but I rather a worker say "excuse me" during the trailers to clean up popcorn in and surrounding my seat then have to sit around others peoples mess. Recently discovered that you can rent private theaters here, and the price per person can be better than going to the movies with a regular ticket! We got a small theater for our group of friends and split the cost nine ways which made it $25 per person. Given that it was all just us, and we could talk and move around, it was a much nicer experience. The seats in our theater were very comfortable and had the recliners. I tried a little bit of the popcorn and it seems pretty good, my sample wasn't too salty like many movie theater popcorns can be. read more

I love going to this AMC theater because on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week you get half off movies so I can go to a movie for $6.99 as a senior and it's a great experience. The location is clean. The prices are pretty average for food like everywhere else and the customer service is really good. Definitely will go back. read more

I recently left a review for this AMC location and actually gave credit to the staff for their professionalism, despite having issues with the movie presentation and refund process. Unfortunately, after my latest experience, I can no longer say the customer service is good. My daughter may have left her house key at the theater. Since I live about 20 minutes away, I called first to see if anyone had turned it in before making the drive. The first call went unanswered. The next several calls were answered and immediately hung up after I said hello. On another call, someone answered and left the phone off the hook. I could hear employees talking and everything happening in the background, but nobody ever returned to the phone. I stayed on the line while driving to the theater, and nearly 20 minutes later, the phone was still off the hook. When I arrived, I asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation, including the fact that I was still connected to the theater phone. That concern was completely ignored. I was told that nothing had been turned in yet, but the manager could check the theater if needed. I went to the auditorium myself and found it packed with people sitting in the area where my daughter had been seated. I returned and explained that it would be difficult for me to search without disrupting guests. I provided the exact seat location and a description of the key and asked if someone from the staff could check. Instead, I was told to come along and check with them. Respectfully, that's not the customer's job. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I was simply asking for assistance locating a potentially lost house key after already wasting time driving there because nobody would properly answer the phone. At that point, I was visibly frustrated and did raise my voice. However, my frustration was directed at the situation and the lack of assistance I had received. Once I realized that my behavior could create additional issues or disrupt others, I stepped away from the conversation and left. The most frustrating part wasn't even the missing key. It was the complete lack of concern for my time. If staff are busy, that's understandable. But repeatedly answering and hanging up on customers, then leaving the phone off the hook, is unacceptable. A simple "Please hold" would have been enough. This is now the second negative experience I've had at this location within a week. Based on this experience, I will be contacting corporate and cannot recommend this theater's customer service. read more

I love movies. More importantly, I love GOING to movies. While I enjoy the convenience of streaming movies at home, I do miss the simplicity of yesteryear when going to the movies was an event: Looking in the newspaper or calling the automated phone number to find showtimes, the smell of fresh popcorn greeting you as you enter the theater, or creating your own "double feature" by jumping theaters when the attendant wasn't looking. Every time I go to the movies, and I mean every-single-time, I think of one person... my Grandmother. She is the one who passed down her love of movies to me. She lived in St. Augustine, Florida, and I would only see her once a year, or so. But when we visited, Grandmother had a list of movies we would go watch. I still remember watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with my Grandmother by my side. I am sure Dr. Jones was not her first choice, yet she loved going to the theater and spending time with her grandson. AMC makes me excited to go to the movies. During covid, I was scared movie theaters would literally go out of business, and we would lose an important part of our cultural history (I am not exaggerating!). I now love passing on my love for theaters to my son. We get a Coke ICEE and a large popcorn (both are refillable at AMC. Yes, refillable ICEE! What?!) and sit back to enjoy the show. AMC makes going to the movies an enjoyable occasion. Clean theaters, helpful staff and those amazing reclining chairs set the stage (pun intended!) for a great experience. If you plan on going to AMC regularly, make sure and download their mobile app. From the app, I can look up showtimes and theaters. I can also order tickets and concessions, as well. Once you arrive at the theater, you simply scan the barcode on your phone, pick up your snacks that are are already waiting for you at the concession stand, and then go find your seats in time for the previews to start. No fuss. No hassle. No need to get there early to find the best seat. AMC delivers the nostalgia I love about going to the theater as well as offering modern conveniences like their mobile app, choosing your reclining seat ahead of time, and pre-ordering your snacks so they are ready to go at showtime. If you haven't been to an actual movie in a while, go order a bucket of popcorn and grab a Coke ICEE and watch an upcoming attraction. The theater was pretty clean, bathrooms decent. The lady that took our prepaid electronic ticket was very nice. Prices for goodies always too high so we ate right across the street right before the movie. Plan on doing that If you can. The seating are those lazy boy chairs which are are great but careful not to go tired or you might fall asleep like the guy in my row! We went to see The Dragon's Prophecy special showing as I usually don't want to spend a small fortune to go to the theater now aways, but this was for a worthy cause and movie. They had the sound up SO loud it was unbearable for like the first 30 mins I had to plug my ears. I think there was a gentleman that went and told them not once, but twice and they finally turned down a little bit. That is inexcusable. All the money you pay and they don't even check the volume!? Nobody in that theater was OK with that. It's the attention to the little things and details as well as the big things that sets a business apart. read more

For sound and visual they get points but what I don't like is the reclining controls are on the inside of the arm so for those that aren't small people your hips hit the buttons and it reclines you and that's annoying. If this is the only place they can put them then they need to add a locked feature so every time you bump up next to it you're not reclined. I have been to AMC theaters where the controls or on the outside so that doesn't happen. Popcorn is old and stale and they need to offer real butter and not butter flavored oils. I'm not quite sure how I've never reviewed AMC Castleton Square 14, however, since I'm a film journalist I spend an awful lot of time in movie theaters statewide. For some reason, I just don't usually review them. AMC Castleton Square 14 is, of course, located within Castleton Square. It's a front-facing theater on the East 82nd Street side of the mall and easily visible from the street. While I miss the days when Castleton also had an outlot with a couple of indie screens (Castleton Arts was amazing), this is one of the theaters I visit most often as they seem to be selected a lot by studios wanting to market their films. This is largely owing to the theater's top of the line IMAX screen (slightly smaller than the Indiana State Museum's true IMAX), Dolby Stereo, and Real 3D. In terms of a theatrical experience, this is definitely one of Indy's top-notch places to go and an ideal theater if you're checking out a Marvel flick or a film with heavy special effects. In case it's not obvious, this is a 14-screen cinema. They do have smaller theaters, as well, that can handle films that have been in theaters a while and smaller films that may not be as expected to draw large crowds. There are a variety of premium options here: AMC Signature Recliners Reserved Seating IMAX Dolby Cinema Closed Captions RealD 3D Open Caption and both Hindi and Japanese with English subtitles The theatre offers discount Tuesdays and discount matinees. This is also a theater with a MacGuffin's Bar in it offering alcohol. You can mobile order food and drinks and the theater has a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. I'm a big fan of the reclining seats as they offer a bit more room and some distance between your next door neighbor. You can still cuddle up if it's a date night, however, for those of us who prefer distance it's nice to know you'll not have someone sitting right over you. The sound systems are wonderful here. The Dolby screens are awesome. I still find the employees a little hit-and-miss here and, I will say, I've also experienced multiple delayed screenings because of technical issues. They are very good at offering passes when this happens, but as someone who makes an effort to get out it's a pain to get to a theatre and have a delayed or canceled screening. Fortunately, it's not often. In terms of accessibility, generally it's quite good here. The front doors are manual and a tad heavy. However, everything is workable. All the theaters have accessible seating, though occasionally it's a little questionable on who gets it. Bathrooms meet ADA requirements and there's always an accessible stall. I do believe there's also a family bathroom here. They also offer audio description and assisted listening devices. They do offer the AMC Stubs rewards program that is a solid deal. You can buy tickets online, at kiosks in the theatre, or at the box-office. Among all the theaters in Indy, I likely spend the most time here. I enjoyed the theater even before renovations and I still think it's easily in the upper tier of Indy moviegoing experiences. read more

this theatre continues to go downhill . went to go see Babygirl and there were teenagers/highschoolers in the theatre . of course they were laughing giggling and ruining the experience for everyone else . but i expect nothing more as the staff is no good either . the place is filthy for starters . i came up to order popcorn and a drink , and two workers were behind the counter play fighting . one of which was a team lead or manager . crazy to do at work , but even crazier to do in front of a customer . i stood there about 40 seconds watching them play around , before i had to ask if someone could take my order . try cleaning up the place and being more attentive to customers instead of playing around when you have customers . read more

Well, the first thing was my husband, and I wanted to order a bottle of wine. Had to wait a little while for someone to show up and he told us we could not order a bottle of wine unless there were three of us which I thought was very strange. The popcorn was so stale we couldn't eat it and the movie always starts late. What really was disturbing was how happy the bartender was to tell us we couldn't have the bottle of wine we wanted. We've had the same problem with an AMC theater in Arizona. I asked him if you don't want to Sell liquor you shouldn't sell liquor so why are you making it so difficult and he said well it's just to enhance the movie going and experience and I said exactly. I must admit that I was surprised by how nice this theater is. I had not been to this theater before, and actually I never even considered coming here. The only reason we ended up here was that my friend and I had planned to take her two young children to see the Minions movie at Flix Brewhouse, and they wouldn't allow children at the 7 pm showing. The seats recline, and are very comfortable. The sound is fantastic. The only reason I wouldn't give five stars is because the seats weren't clean. There was even leftover food in the cup holders. We had to use sanitizer wipes before we sat down. We parked by the security tower so hopefully my vehicle will still be there when we leave. read more

This has been my local theater and I finally had a chance to check it out after 7 years. We purchased our tickets online, and entering the location was a breeze. We scanned our barcodes and went. The concession stand was well staffed and friendly. The popcorn was also fresh and tasted great. The bathrooms and location in general felt clean and well taken care of. The recliner chairs were very comfortable but you would have to put it down if someone needed out. Overall will return for sure! read more

We literally sweat through an entire movie. The manager tried to tell me that he had already checked the temperature and it was 71 degrees. He went back to the theater with me and walked into the entry way where there was some air flow. Then apparently measured the temperature again and said it had gone up slightly but it was because the theater was full and it was warm outside. According to my weather app it was 83 when I walked out of the theater and with the slightest breeze it was much more comfortable than sitting through that movie. Although this is the closest theater to my house, it has never been our preferred theater. I think it will not be a consideration in the future. read more

Let this be a life lesson: Always have low expectations. When you set your expectations low, kids, you will never be disappointed. In fact, you might be nicely surprised! My expectations were extremely low coming to this AMC at Castleton Square mall. I mean, this is the mall where a shooting took place a few years ago. The mall where there's a security tower in the parking lot. I usually do not to visit theaters that aren't north of 465 (I know, but there are so many good theatres on the northside), but I gave this theatre a shot because my go-to theatre in Carmel was sold out of the movie I wanted to take my kids to see. Wow! I was taken aback. This is actually a nice theatre. The seats are clean and big and comfortable, and they recline. I honestly could have fallen asleep while watching the movie (which is a testament both the the quality of the seats and the movie we were watching). The popcorn was good and salty, the restrooms were clean, the temperature inside the theatre was perfect, and the sound was just right. All in all, we had a really good time and I won't hesitate to add this theatre to my list of go-tos in the future. read more

Some of the worst customer service in history, especially when they charge extra for a membership that seems worthless. They don't seem to care about any issues you experience ever. They always just reply with "sorry" or blame others for any issues. I have reached out via web and phone 3 times, no one answers their phones ever, and the web is extremely uncaring & unwilling to assist, they'd rather just say sorry for inconvenience.... WOW! Theaters are already pretty greedy but this just takes it to a whole new level, charge triple for food, and almost the price of a dvd for a ticket and then extra for a premier membership that means nothing if there is an issue. Oh I'm reviewing the movie for a second: one of the all time greats to hardly get any fan base, thankfully enough of us keeping this cult alive it has stirred for another airing on its anniversary. Highly recommend the best clash of Captain America, Marvel, awkward people so wonderful I could have friends in this universe, overly snarky gay, supreme girl goal main plot whoops spoiler alert, and nonsense galore - Asian girl goes full Anima too, it doesn't get much better than the entire mess done up to perfect entertainment with Edgar Wright. Theater was very clean, easy to move around in, minimal hassles, overpriced drinks naturally, and nothing to complain about except theaters costing four times more than finding this in the big DVD bin somewhere. read more

It has been a long time since I have been in a movie theater, so coming to this AMC Movie theater location in Castleton was a nice treat. A group of us came to see "Top Gun Maverick" and we were overwhelmed by the movie. The movie theater itself was clean and very accommodating with reclining seats and cup holders. The Dolby Audio feature on the theater was fantastic!! I downloaded the app to purchase the movie tickets and it was user friendly. I went ahead and signed up to be a AMC Studs member, and it turned out to be worthwhile. I get discount tickets on Tuesdays and a birthday gift on my birthday. Plus, I have the virtual ticket on my phone which make it easier to scan and bypass the long lines at the ticket counter. The staff were professional and gave great customer service as well. I'm glad the theaters are back open, and look forward to coming back to this theater for a movie. The acoustics are wonderful!! read more

This is one of my favorite movie theaters to go to in the Indianapolis area. The best thing about it for me is that you get to pick out your seats ahead of time, which is especially convenient when you buy your ticket online. I don't have to make sure I get to the theater early enough to get a good seat because my seat is already saved. When you buy your ticket online, all you have to do is walk in and get your ticket's QR code scanned. Tickets also aren't too overpriced, especially for shows during the day. The seats in the theater are extremely comfortable recliners that are clean for the most part. The one complaint I had was that the movie was supposed to start at 1:45, but the screen didn't come on until about 15 minutes later after others in the audience brought it to the attention of the staff. Overall, this is a very nice AMC that is cleaner than most chain movie theaters, especially the bathrooms. The employees are friendly enough, and my movie-going experience has been consistently enjoyable when going here. read more

Date night with my son. Went to see Wonder Park and this was my first time at this theater. As a premier member we are in a separate line. On a Saturday there was only one person doing ticket sales and the manager was next to him. The sales person took two families before me and I waved at him thinking he would tell the people to wait because as a member I paid for the "luxury of not waiting" but I waited anyway. I wasn't mad, just not sure if he knows how the membership works. When I waved my hands to get his attention he did acknowledge me but clearly he didn't understand. I just told him never mind. Once the manager saw us waiting he took care of us. He was very kind and pleasant. I told him the movie we were seeing and he told us to go to theater 14. Before entering the movie we got slushies and popcorn. Concessions knew about the membership and they were awesome... no wait at all. We went to theatre 14 and my son soon realized we were in the wrong movie after watching all the trailers (ugh). My son was already thinking we missed part of Wonder Park so we immediately went to customer service, explained to the manager what happened and he was very apologetic due to his mishap. Luckily we got to theater 12 just in time. Someone was in our seats, they moved and we quickly composed ourselves to finally enjoy the movie... whew! Overall, we know things happen so we just rolled with it. The theater and bathrooms were clean, staff was pleasant and the manager made things right. Reclining seats are always a plus but the condiment area was a hot mess. The fountain and slushie machine needed attention but that was the only thing that stuck out. We will definitely go back since it's convenient and we enjoy AMC theaters. read more

Giv'em a show! AMC has really stepped up their game in the recent year. I do miss the old days of door greeters and fresh popcorn popping, the smell of salt and velvet in the air. However it's alarmingly clear those days are over - if anyone knows where I can find this please let me know! However I do appreciate AMC's new snack section packed with some GF options like dark chocolate covered pretzels and upgraded sour gummies by Project 7 - that feature no artificial sugar / color / flavor etc... delicious local brownies and a few unbranded junk food items. (Don't worry the original artificial stuff is all still there). As well as the new AMC Bar, they dont have too many local options, but give me some whiskey and I'm happy. I did encounter one 30-40s ish woman working the counter whom was very lovely and helpful. She may have been the manager she was helping the two younger gals working the registers.(AMC CASTLETON 7PM) The theatre was slightly messy, but not any worse than my room in middle school. The restrooms upon using were of course gross because people these days - but they were stocked with plenty of t.p. towels.... etc... I LOVE LOVE LOVE that the theatres have now all upgraded to the reclining seats - they're glorious and I'm never going back. Do y'all remember propping your feet up in the crevices of the arched seat backs in front of you? Nope no more! The picture and sound quality of our theatre is wonderful. We usually go to AMC on the south side, however we may have to make Castleton more of a regular. I saw a prescreening of 'I Still Believe'. It's an AMC. Kids got us our tickets and went when to our theatre without incident. It also the Dolby Capitvating Sound specialty showings which I LOVE. Can't say I've ever been disgusted by the theatre / cleanliness of the seats. Looks ok. I would advise any visitors to LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS. I'm very impressed with the upgrades. It's been a while since I've been to the movies at this location and I must say this has the "other theater" that I'm closer to beat. The seats are so comfy and clean and they RECLINE!! You can beat that. Still, not a fan of the prices of theater food, but I like what they are trying to do. I paid about $5 for some curly fries and $5 for an Icee. I should've just ate the goldfish in my purse. They were lucky I hadn't been home and was starving. The entire reason I was here for this visit was because I had free screening passes to see the movie Game Night. Great movie. There was even an interactive murder mystery game in the beginning that was kind of awkward but cool. Never got to know who stabbed the girl because well once the movie was over, everybody left, including the actors lol. Guess the crowd no longer cared. All in all the upgrades truly won me over. This theater is a good, clean space and our go to spot for movies. The theater has comfortable and clean recliners. Some theaters have smaller space to accommodate lesser audience and others slightly bigger. Parking is never a concern and usually easy to find movie tickets last minute. Staff follows COVID protocols and reasonable audience these days. The popcorn and soft drinks just like any other theater is obnoxiously expensive, no surprises there unfortunately. read more

I went to see my first movie at a cinema in a long time as the pandemic is stabilizing. Our group of 3 got our tickets ahead of time which is good because our ideal time was already sold out (just after lunch on a Friday). The theater was limited to 50% capacity to allow adequate spacing and so we felt comfortable going. We didn't order any food having just finished lunch and not feeling certain about how much we wanted to risk contact. We were able to tell our seating and though my wife thought she had ordered something farther back, we ended up sitting in the 2nd row in those super stuffed lounge chairs. Two of the three seats we were seated in didn't adjust posture and foot rests like they were supposed to, but one of the attendants immediately helped us and got the chairs to work. Good service!' This visit, we weren't able to go to the IMAX theater, but got the Dolby which definitely added to the experience. Though I am prone to afternoon naps, especially in a dark environment, the incredible audio which literally shakes the chairs during the action sequences was clear to understand (my wife didn't need her aides to understand!) We were able to comfortably spend the time in the theater. It wasn't too hot or cold, but I did keep my sweatshirt on. The signs for the exits could use better identification as some led directly outside, while some led back to the lobby. Since it was my first visit, if they could let you know which ones could get you to the lobby without wandering in the near total darkness. I didn't miss much of the movie while wandering around, but with steps and people having their legs extended, it is not a place you want to turn around and watch the screen while walking. I made it okay, but it definitely crossed my mind that an improvement could be made. My wife bought tickets and thought our seats would be higher up than the 2nd row even though the tickets said row B. As I searched for the exit, I think I did see a second row B above the midway point. (Probably where we should have grabbed our seats) but it seems odd that they use the same row name for two different rows. Maybe could have used a double letter designation if they have too many rows for our alphabet. Oh, well, we still had an enjoyable afternoon and were glad to be able to enjoy it at the movies. The seats were very comfy and the popcorn was delicious. The main reason for 3 instead of 5 stars was they were a bit disorganized. My mom and I went to see the double feature of the original Jurassic Park movie followed by the new Jurassic World movie. The first movie was supposed to start at 5. To our surprise, at 5 the new Jurassic world movie started and my mom had to go tell someone. Then our movie started a half hour late. The second thing that was an issue and disappointing about the experience was the time between the movies. Online it had said to allow 15 minutes to switch the films after the first one ended so we figured we'd have enough time to grab a snack in between. To our surprise, after about 10 minutes we went back into the theatre and had missed the first 5 minutes or so of the movie. This was frustrating as we were led to believe there'd be a break, when in reality it must've gone right into the next one after only 5 minutes. Finally the last little note was they were advertising a specialty tin and a special mixed drink at the bar for the Jurassic world movie. It was strange because we got the tin but something wasn't loaded in their system or something so they couldn't put popcorn in it or something. You'd think they could just dump a large popcorn in it, but I guess not. We also weren't able to get the mixed drink as they didn't have a bartender, just miscellaneous staff members who could only serve beer and wine. I had a very good experience on my first visit back to AMC post Covid crisis. I was attending a preview screening of A Quiet Place Part II. The theater was #1 and was Dolby. Dolby sound really enhanced the viewing of this movie! And by the way - the movie was great! I'm pretty sure if you liked the first one; you'll like this one. Very limited invites were extended for the screening and I think even less people showed up because they were many open seats. They were spacing the seats to respect Covid guidelines but there were still many seats available. I was in the top row all by myself. Regarding concessions; I believe the menu has changed. I had a free large popcorn from my AMC app (birthday) and redeemed the coupon. The popcorn was given in a bag, not the refillable buckets of the past. I ordered a soda and one of the 3 machines on each side was open and available to fill your own drink and refill as well. There was a very limited staff working. Oh AMC what happened to you? We returned after a hiatus to find the leather seats of theater 1 almost completely worn bare (forgiveable) and the carpet leading into the theater so STICKY that it literally gripped my slip on shoes and pulled them off my heels with each step (frankly unforgiveable). I know times are tough for theaters, so I can wait patiently for upgrades, but please for the love, clean the carpets. This is basic maintenance. I'll return, of course, because I want to support our local theaters. But AMC, even in the tough times, I think you can clean the floor. Everything else was just fine! :) read more

I gave this theater 3 stars because usually it's clean and everything works however not this time. The bathrooms were horribly nasty and the theater I was in had trash all on the floors. Only one drink station worked and only one butter station worked in a packed theater. I may have to find another theater t go to. This was just convenient and close. read more

Wow, how the movie theater changed over time! We pick our seats at the register. The seat reclined with buttons on the right inside armrest - one button to recline and another button to sit upright. Join their club. You should receive a free large popcorn during the month of your birthday. This AMC plays great movies, but $9.99 for a matinee is pricey. read more

I've been here a handful of times but most recently came for an advanced screening of "1917." The lines are always, always long here, for some reason, so that's why I can't give it a full five stars, but the staff are always friendly and helpful. It now seems that they encourage you to purchase tickets ahead of time and have them ready on your mobile phone as they only have computer kiosks now to purchase tickets so it takes people quite some time to order and pick their seats. As with most other theatres, this has the super nice reclining leather seats to enjoy. We got there a bit too late and were forced to sit in the 2nd to front row in Theatre 1. It was a Doby theatre, I believe, so the sound literally shook and vibrated the theatre - a bit too loud for me and had me asking if this was even allowed to be this loud. Bathrooms have always been clean for me, and yes, the prices of concessions are out of this world, as like all other theatres. Is it my favorite theatre in Indy? Not at all as I'd rather support a locally owned one instead of a chain, but occasionally this place has a movie I can't see anywhere else, and that's when I find myself at this spot. read more

I love this theatre! From the Dolby theatre to the a list priority line! Absolutely my favorite! Also I can't get enough of being able to recline at the movies! Recently all amc movie theaters have adapted the stubs "a list" in this program you pay 19.95 a month and can go to 3 movies a week! With a max of 12 movies a month! Considering the average cost of a movie is now 11-12 this was a NO BRAINER. If you're a movie lover like myself and also love to save money this is the theater for you! You can recline and see all the movies you want. Who can beat that. read more
