I'm tired of this theater. This particular experience. I pay $5 for water and I can't get a cup for ice. Attendant flat out tells me he won't give me a small cups and they don't have "courtesy" cups. The common sense is just lacking. It's a freaking Monday night, I'm one of 5 people in my movie. If I wanted to rip you off the soda you're making 1000% profit off of then I would not have bought the water you're making the 1000% profit off of. read more

Went to see Stillwater and it might be one of the worst movies i have seen in a long time. Also they didn't have any butter for popcorn, which is just not okay. read more

The theater is full and the movie was supposed to start 20 minutes ago- so far all we have seen is a blank screen. Really unacceptable.

Much better when Carmike owned it. We were not impressed with the new management and how poorly it's being ran now. I don't plan on going back to this location. We will probably try the Majestic at least once to see if it's AMC or just the management team here that sucks. read more

We go here at least once a week. We are big movie buffs. The IMAX is awesome. Love the assigned seating. When AMC took over from Carmike everything improved immediately. For ease in purchasing tickets and avoid the lines, use the AMC app. The food is great and fast. Restrooms could be a little cleaner. read more

So this was a night and day difference from 3 months ago. Staff was courteous and fast and all smiles which is rare to see anywhere on a weekend. Film sounded and looked great without incident. Place was clean and all around pleasent. I said I wouldn't go back after my last experiance but this theater often has films others don't so I honestly had no choice today and I can say I am super glad I did. read more

Very very good sound system to see the Doctor Who special. The food prices are you typical movie theater, for three large drinks and one large popcorn is 30 bucks. The particular movie we saw was a Fathom event and cost a little more. read more

My review is honest and not skewed by user errors like expecting free things or perfect management to stick with 16 year olds. This is a huge theater and it is maintained fairly. Carmike cinema logos are everywhere, inside and out. That can be confusing for the people looking for AMC theaters. I honestly don't remember an AMC sign outside. I went when it wasn't busy and there was a plethora of high school kids working. They all met my expectations because I didn't expect to be treated like royalty. The concessions counter was clean and the staff gave suggestions, and non suggestions. The Imax theater holds 379 people, and they will fill it. The seats are mostly comfortable leather with plenty of isle room for passers by and your legs. They have a second floor entrance for most theaters accessible by elevators. They have freestyle coke machines that are clean for any soda you can imagine. The Theater is usually at a good temperature and the sound system seems to always be a bit loud, good, but loud. The entrance is full of steps and places to loiter and talk about movies:) . The place seems to be colorful with lights and actual waiting rooms inside theater that are rarely touched, I assume good for parties. Lastly I do want to reiterate that it's a theater, not a mosque. read more

I've been coming to this theatre for years. Used to be the best one to go to... Maybe it still is for Chattanooga. Maybe my expectations are too high, but the last several times I've been there I'm disappointed in something. Mostly little things, but when it's little things every time you visit it gets annoying. Especially for the price you pay to go to the movies these days. They've moved the butter for the popcorn to a self serve station outside the concession stand, which sounds okay, but don't plan on having butter anywhere but right on the very top layer of popcorn... The rest is gonna be dry. They also now have those coke mix machines for your drinks which are also self serve. I personally hate these machines because my soda never tastes right. It just tastes like a mix of everything else that's in the machine. And this is on multiple occasions and trying multiple machines to get the soda to just taste normal. What's the point in even having someone to work the concession stand at this point. They might as well just stick a vending machine out there for the candy and stuff if everything else is gonna be self serve anyway. And this last time that I was there, they gave us the wrong type of 3D glasses for the movie we were seeing so we missed the first few minutes of the movie going to get the right ones. I guess at least the theatre usually seems fairly clean for a movie theatre and the seats are pretty comfortable. I feel like this theatre is slowly going downhill since it was bought out by Carmike, and management doesn't really seem to care. read more

Easter Sunday... we take our 3 boys to see "Boss baby". First we buy $30 worth of concessions and then see the guy behind the counter put his hand in the popcorn and just eat it from the machine without gloves. Then we sit in the movie and have hand shadows appear on the screen in the form of a gun pretending to shoot. This went on for about 10 minutes until I went and told the manager who then told me that children from the "Net" church were up in the projection room playing on the screen. What can I say it's a theater. It is about middle of the road as far as being up to date and having a good appearance but movie played just fine and the sound was ok . If in the area and wanting to see a movie I would go back but not my favorite place to catch a movie. read more

Not sure what theatre the other reviewers went to, but I thought this theatre was great! It looked new and renovated from the start, and I never got any impression otherwise. The system of food and drinks was great. They had drink machines all over the place to fill up your drinks, and refills were free. I would recommend being an AMC member, it is useful. Staff was great, friendly, and accommodating. Seats recline and are comfortable and clean. If you're under 18, don't go after 6 because they won't let you in, regardless of what movie you are seeing. You have to be with your parents. I disagree with it, and it's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. read more

We have been bringing our kids here for a long time. The minute we walked in the door, we were stepping on popcorn and spilled drinks. Obviously no one tending the store. The concessions area was a disgusting mess and the drink station was pathetic. I like the fact that you can pre-purchase and select seats, but if I wouldn't have done that, we would have left the facility. I wish I would have taken pictures of the rest room, I have never seen anything this bad. One of the urinals was broke, full of urine and overflowing on the floor. The theater in which we watched the moved hadn't been cleaned from previous guests. We will not go back to this theater. read more

Every time I come home to visit my mom in Tennessee, I take her to this theater. However, we will never be back. Today, we came to see Joy. I purchased the 20 oz water for 4.92 after tax and asked for a second cup since I was sick and did not want to get my mom sick. I was told I would have to purchase another water or a cup at a cost of over $5. What this told me was that I should have just snuck aged into the theater instead of being honest and patronizing the establishment's refreshment stand. Most theaters I have been to allow a courtesy cup, even without purchasing a beverage. Here, you can pay for an overpriced bottled beverage and are denied even a small cup. Otherwise the theater is generally run down. I haven't seen the ticket kiosks operational in over a year. The last two times I have visited there is no ticket taker. I have seen people just walk in. They may have purchased online downloadable tickets, but they may not have - the theater doesn't verify it. I would not recommend this theater. read more

I have been to AMC Chattanooga 18 twice and the staff are really nice, outstanding and friendly. The lady I saw that checks tickets my frost two visits was very friendly. The staff at concessions are also very friendly. I recommend the triple feature cheeseburger sliders because that Tripp's feature is really good. I tried their food and their food is really good but a little bit overpriced. read more

We held our son's birthday party here. The entire establishment was clean, with the staff paying extra attention to the lobby and theaters as the crowds exited. The party room was clean as well. The staff that hosted our party was extra nice and attended to our party and guest leaving no complaints from any with the party. Great time, deserved seats for the movie. Very nice since it's been refurbished. Plenty of employees during busy times so service is good. Chairs are super comfy. When I ask at the concession stand, they will make non salted popcorn for me. With 3D and IMAX there are lots of options. With points from my Stubs Premiere membership, I get free stuff (tickets and concessions). read more

I have been using this Theater since it was built. When it was The Rave it was one of the nicest around. There has been a serious decline in service and quality since it became an AMC. I survived many issues here when I was a Movie Pass member (Movie Pass was $30 then). The I joined A-List back when it was still under $20. This theater is why I am no longer an A-list member. The complaints you see here are completely valid. It is routinely nasty and unclean, the Freestyle Coke machine constantly needs service, good luck getting a slush drink that is completely random, as an A List member I rarely got to use the Premier line here as they seemed to always have only 1 or 2 people working the box for tickets despite there are 5 or 6 windows and lines are routinely all the way out the door during optimal showtimes. The same applies to concessions. There is seldom a difference between premier and regular customers. Even though there is only 1 or 2 people in the Premier line you still wait 15 minutes or more as others go in front of you anyway. I love movies and for years I loved to go I took my two oldest to the movies all the time and they love it. My youngest may never get to. Since this overly negative experience, I haven't been to see a movie in over 6 months now, maybe longer. I hear Regal is offering something similar. Looks like I will be looking into it. The saddest part is in my area, this is the best AMC we have. read more

We normally love coming to the Carmike but tonight I am beyond aggravated. Bought gift cards for our holiday movie. When we bought them, no one said anything about having to order the tickets online ahead of time. We get to the theatre & are told we have to order online. Our only option was to pay again for tickets or see the movie 3 hours later. Went to concessions and found out we couldn't use them there either. DO NOT buy gift cards for Carmike unless you plan to order your tickets ahead of time. read more

I would give it no stars... Every time we have been there, the restrooms were horrid. Urine on floor as well as the toilet seats. No toilet paper in some of stalls, paper towels all over the floor because garbage can was over flowing, 2 out of 3 paper towel holders were broken, and 2 of the sink faucets wouldn't come on. These visits to this theater were during the week. Not very busy. The girl that has taken our popcorn order, both times, acted as if we were disturbing her and it was a bother for her to do her job. No manager around to talk to. The theater where we watched our movies seemed to be fairly clean. Each time there were only 6 of us in there. So again, no reason for the restrooms to be in such a disgusting mess. Obviously they are not very busy around the 1:00 pm movie showings during the week. Why would the restrooms be that disgusting? Sadly this theater has declined a lot since it opened as a Rave Theater a few years ago. It went downhill as a Carmike Theater but was tolerable. It has become awful as an AMC Theater. Dirty, understaffed, broken equipment. In one showing the audio was on but no screen until someone went and found a staff member. Last time we went, the movie had just started, 30 seconds in, and the screen went blank. After a few minutes the manager shouts out from the projection room that the projection lamp went out and they don't have another one! Are you kidding me!? Packed theater for a new blockbuster. We had to line up at the manager's window in the lobby to get vouchers for another day or exchange tickets for a later performance. I've never seen this at any theater in my lifetime. On the positive side (so 2 stars instead of 1) this is still the best stadium seating in town: most room in seats and most leg room (except for the Regal theater with the reclining seats). I wish it was still a Rave so the whole experience was more pleasant. Just another sign of a declining culture I guess. read more

My friend positively left his cell phone in the theater and upon driving away we realized it and called the theater they denied finding anything. When we came back there was a group of people that seemed like employees and the doors were locked. When we asked if there was someone to help they said that they weren't employees, that they had just seen them leave... read more

My nephew and I go to this theater every weekend. My nephew has down syndrome and although he is in his forties, he is very child like. This is his favorite movie theater in Chattanooga. Yesterday I almost walkout of this theater and demand my money back. I was exhausted from a family crisis. I lost it and said things out loud that I would never have said. He asked me at the movie, what's wrong because I never had ever lost my temper in such a way. I would never had been able to get my nephew to go with me, so I had to subjected to a terrible experience. I paid hard-earned money only to be subjected to a political ad that ran before the beginning of the movie. It was an ad for climate change which I do not see any validity to this concern. I understand the right for free speech, but who in their right mind would think anyone wants a crappy political ad before an entertainment venue that the person is paying for. read more

When this theater was Rave Motion Pictures, it was the best theater by far. The popcorn was the best there ever was, which will make or break a theater for me. The place was also very "hip" and seemed upscale and ahead of the times. It doesn't anymore. The popcorn was changed (and then changed again). The theater doesn't seem like it's kept up as well anymore. The ambiance of an awesome theater just seems to have disappeared. They've even gotten so lazy that you're told to get your own drink and popcorn butter. Maybe that's the new thing...get your own and make it awesome or whatever, but I'm not a fan. If you do like I do and get your butter layered onto the popcorn at intervals in the bucket, then this is not a winning situation. I just don't frequent the theater as often unless I have time to go between 4 and 5 p.m. on Tuesdays so I can get cheap tickets and snacks. read more

Opening night for Central intelligence and the 5:25 showing was canceled due to a blown speaker. I call bs because they were selling the later show at the evening show price. The manager in the ticket box kept trying to sell that later show with no apologies. You'd think with all these movies being digital now they'd move the new movie hard drive to a different theater and cancel a non-opening weekend movie. read more

I attempted to go see the "9/11" movie. After the movie trailers stopped and the movie was supposed to start, it didn't, and instead the screen went blank and music started playing. So, I went and inquired at the concession stand. The young lady called a manager and told me they'd take care of it. So, after a few minutes, the SAME trailers were played and when they stopped, the exact same thing happened. No movie...so, went and talked to same girl, only this time demanding to see a manager. Waited way too long for one to appear, and when he did, all he had to say is they were experiencing technical difficulties with the projector and that the movie was cancelled. Then, why didn't he come into our auditorium, apologize, and explain that? rather than having the rest of us wait 40 freaking minutes??! I've been coming to this theater location since a teenager (when it was East Ridge 6) way back in the 80's.Has gone WAY downhill since!! Management is terrible, not enough floor staff. I think I'll just stick to the other Chattanooga area theaters, especially the super nice Bradley 12 AMC! read more
