People might think that the seats were super comfy, but the way the padding was placed(bulky at head neck area and sparse at lumbar area) made my back and neck hurt. I had to put my purse behind my low back to be able to tolerate it through the whole movie. read more

This is a great theater. The seats are comfortable the food is served quickly and the staff are nice. The only complaint I have is that most times the food line takes forever. Ignore the negative reviews for the most part- they usually represent a single individual's experience and don't reflect on the theater. I hate when someone is a patron of a place for years, has one bad experience and leaves a 1 star review damaging the business that served them well for years. 1. The chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable. The footrests don't go up far enough. All four people in my group complained of their legs going to sleep because of that. I have been in other dine in theaters in other cities and this was not the case. If you just put them down and don't recline them they were ok. 2. The theater temp was much too hot. It was too warm even for my wife, which is almost never the case. Sitting in leather seats sweating it out for 2.5 hours was really no fun. 3. I went to this theater with (realistic) but high hopes. I had heard great things about it from co-workers, but did not get to experience ANY of the 'pros' on my trip. My husband works early mornings, so we went to a late-afternoon showing. The theatre was practically empty, but we had the wrong time so we missed the beginning of the movie. Which we were fine with-- but the girl at the front desk tells us we're 'almost too late to let us in' which is BS. I also had tickets as a Christmas present from a friend, but they were 'Carmike' instead of 'AMC' because it was before AMC bought the local theatre. I was hoping they would either honour the tickets or offer a discount or something. Anything? Nope. We were told 'there's not a code or anything. We can't do anything for you.' No manager was called, no effort was made. We finally make it into the movie and have to awkwardly wait for a waiter (server?) to come take our simple order for drink/popcorn. That (finally) arrives, and the soda is in an open medium-sized glass. I don't know about most people, but popcorn makes me THIRSTY. The soda was empty in a few minutes but the server never came back to give us a re-fill. We finally had to ask someone else to go get it. MEANWHILE---- the 3D movie is very NOT 3-D. It's a weird overlapping double image that is unaffected by the glasses. Our seat-neighbors went and talked to the staff and we are all brought new glasses. (There are only about 7 people in the theatre). Still to no avail, the movie is a blurry double-visioned mess. Nobody leaves, but we are all promised free tickets at the end of this. FINALLY, they figure out it was the projectors & get the 3D working. Back to the service--- some girl shows up during the climax battle and demands my husband sign the check RIGHT NOW. So.... he does. And she leaves without his bill. Saying someone else will be in to pick it up. Why the movie had to be interrupted for that? No clue. When the movie finally ends, nobody has come to pick up the check. So-- not wanting his info left in the theatre-- my husband brings the check out to the lobby and (tries to) give it to an employee. The employee refuses to take it (stating that it is to be picked up by a server) and MAKES MY HUSBAND TAKE IT BACK INTO THE THEATRE AND LEAVE IT ON A SEAT. Finally, we are waiting around for our free tickets, and for some reason instead of handing them out to everyone in a timely manner-- we are forced to listen to some lady complain about the 3D not being 'real' enough even after being fixed. Rather than splitting up to hand out tickets, the entire (management?) crew stands around to listen to her complain while we all wait patiently for our stupid free tickets so we can come back to this hellhole. Pros? Comfy seats. Pretty lobby. Nice bathrooms. read more

Three stars because the food was GREAT!!!! So, just my thoughts on this new Dine-in Theater.... 1) You HAVE to order everything from a server. Including candy, popcorn, whatever. It is kind of inconvenient. Especially when it's MUCH quicker just to get up and go get it vrs 5-15 min. I can understand the dinner part, that's ok. But even candy and such?! 2) They serve drinks in open containers. Not the most intelligent with children. 3) Have you ever tried to eat rice or something small in the dark? It can be messy. And again, if you have small children that are trying to eat all your attention would be helping them try to see what they are doing and also helping them prevent spilling their drink instead of you watching the moving and enjoying the experience as a family. They should maybe have some sort of "mood lighting" maybe. 4) Unfortunately, they have cloth napkins and multiple things that can just "grow feet and walk away". As much as I hate to say it...this generation isn't the most respectful or responsible and I foresee a lot of $ loss and damage. 5) We did have to call our server back multiple times for things. She forgot our drinks, our popcorn...etc. However, I suspect that will get better with time and the longer they are open! 6) The ONE positive with this experience.....the food was amazing!!!! We ate the Asian Streak and Shrimp Bowl. I do think the newness will wear off and people will still go to the old theater. But, again, just my thoughts. This was my first time using an AMC Dine in theater, and I'm not impressed. This place is clean, looks beautiful, the chairs are awesome, and people are really nice. But...the whole push a button for a waiter thing is annoying in a movie theater. The family next to us kept ordering food after food, which causes a server to keep running back and forth, kind of distracting in a dark theater when you're trying to watch a movie. I get it, theaters make money off food, but offering one size popcorn at $9 is ridiculous. One size soda with unlimited refills, but the cup is small and filled with ice. So gotta push that call button and have a server run out, distract from the movie, and wait ten minutes for a refill. The chairs are also designed with their trays to discourage sharing drinks or items with the person you're with. Pretty much encouraging you to order twice as much. AMC needs to re think this program. read more

I got my first taste of the new AMC Missoula Dine-in theater this week. As soon as I walked in I was in awe with the architecture and design. Very beautiful and clean. There is a giant bar off to the side. The manager said they are still working on getting their liquor license and should be serving drinks in a couple weeks. The recliners are super plush and comfy. The way moving going should be. And the food is out of this world. The BEST chicken tenders I have ever had. And the burgers were just as awesome. All I needed was a beer to wash down the grub and I am set. This will be our go to date night destination in Missoula. read more

Despite being understaffed and extremely busy the bartenders were friendly and prompt with their service. I went for uncharted on the opening day of morbius and the theater was packed. I ordered beer, appetizer sampler, and a burger. The bartender who took my order was friendly, knowledgeable, and and quick with his service. I headed to my movie found my seat and before the ads were over was served my food. It was perfectly cooked and still very hot. I thoroughly enjoyed the comfy reclining seats and my entire experience. I will recommend everyone to this theater and be back many times over. read more

What's with the movie times for a kids movie? No mid day lunch showings and no 6 or 7pm time slots? 8pm and 10pm is too late imo for my children, I know other families may be fine with it but it stinks trying to plan an outing with your whole family and the movies don't offer a normal dinner or lunch time show. This is at least the fourth time in a row since opening that there has been either some sort of mix-up with our food or that we have been completely skipped over without any service at all. Sound and movie experience was outstanding as always, but it would have been more enjoyable if we didn't have to get up multiple times to try to figure out where our order was before finally having to go back out and get a refund for food because we never got it at all this time around. The facility is gorgeous and the chairs are 'oh so comfy', but the service was so abhorrent that it overshadowed all of the comforts of the facility. When we walked into the theater, I noticed that 80% of the seats were open which was confusing because I heard a ticket agent tell someone that the show was sold out. We buzzed for the server during the previews and ordered dinner, drinks, and then popcorn for after. Then AN HOUR passed by and we had not even gotten our drinks. Not only that, but our server was no where to be found and I was dying for a soda. They finally brought our food to us (a food runner, not our server) and I said that we were waiting for drinks. He proceeded to run away into the darkness of the theater while mumbling nonsensical words about it not being his job. I ordered chicken tenders and they were good, but it was clear they had been sitting under the heat lamp for a long time and the fries tasted like they had been cooked, cooled, and nuked in the microwave. I don't expect gourmet food when I order chicken tenders, but I would like a mother scratchin' soda to wash it down. There was probably 50,000 milligrams of salt in my chicken tenders and popcorn and I tasted every single one because I DIDN'T HAVE A SODA! I finally caught the server and I started to ask for a soda and he was apologetic and comped our entire meal and the other couple's meal we were with as well. So I do appreciate that we didn't have to pay for it. When I did receive my drink....it wasn't diet coke.... it was regular coke. My friend's coke was flat. I finally started waving people down and firmly asking for our drinks to be exchanged. Finally, a managerial type woman arrived and got us our drinks....for the last 20 minutes of the movie. It was so crazy and preventable. Our original server should have checked on us. Every time we asked for something, he told us why it wasn't his job to do that for us. Oh yeah....don't get me started in on the popcorn. My bar for popcorn is LOW. I went to those old Carmike 10 am cheap show with my kids where they show the discounted movie with popcorn and a drink for $4 a pop and I eat and enjoy that popcorn even though I know it's a day old. This popcorn was disgusting. It was stale, over salted, and had no butter flavoring. It had to have been sitting for a couple of days. I couldn't even finish it. When the movie ended and we were exiting the theater, we noticed about 20 people gathered around the entrance....keep in mind that is about 90% of the people in the theater. I guess we were the lucky ones. Most of those people put in orders and didn't get a thing the entire movie. I counted about 5 staff members in and out of our theater. So you are telling me that 5 people couldn't bring 20 people drinks, food, and popcorn in a timely manner. I'm sure they would have gotten a tip as well if they wouldn't have had to comp 100% of the food. I've attended theaters that provide table service before and most have a concession stand where people who don't want service in the theater can get a soda, candy, or popcorn. This is much preferable and may solve problems for both movie goers and staff. It's sad too because our food would have been pretty good. I hope they get it together, but that just wasn't the case at all. I'm going to have to sneak in a Jimmy John's sandwich and a soda in my purse so I can get some food next time! read more

Well it's always nice to have a new place to go in Missoula! And it is a really nice, large, clean theater. Here's the overall key notes: Pros: The seats are recliners. And they are comfy!! The food is decent, it arrived hot and well put together. The seats are in sets of two. Which means that usually there is a double arm rest between you and your neighbor. Cons: The food service is slow and kinda gross because it arrives carried by a waiter who has shelped up the stairs with a tray who is also wheezing and breathing all over your food. The sound in our theater was not very loud. Overall I would try it again. But I think I prefer a restart first, then movie. The food service is why I rated it a 3 instead of 4. read more

Based on all the negative reviews on Facebook and here it is difficult to not roll my eyes at things. I have been 3 times and haven't experienced any of these problems. Not to say the others didn't experience something different. The food is great, dont order the brussel sprouts though because that will smell up the place. Haven't had an issue with being ignored. BUT I have noticed the pitch black room when signatures are needed. Just give us a little light or wait until the movie is over to make us sign something. I love the pretzels, chicken tenders, and fries. Sushi isn't horrible, the burger was a little bland. Prices are typical of any restaurant here so I'm not sure if that's a surprise for some. The seats aren't for robust people since the tray takes up a portion. I will continue to go back because I just cant stand the one by home depot. read more

We live almost two hours away from this theatre so it is a sizable drive to go here, especially during the winter weather, but we would go somewhat regularly as it had always been an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, our last visit was horrible with poor service and a dishonest employee. We had nothing but exceptionally positive experiences in the past which makes our recent experience and AMC's lack of response all the more disheartening. Our server, Alison, was far from attentive and while not outright rude, she was not personable and barely made any eye contact when taking our order. She seemed more worried about leaving than ensuring we had everything needed. Despite being first in the theatre, the show was already started with most customers already having their food before we got ours. We didn't even get our drinks and popcorn while waiting for the entrees. We only needed help once during the film, for a drink refill, and it was over 20 minutes before a different person showed up and then another 15 minutes before the drink came. A big perk of this theatre is that you don't need to deal with a snack bar line but when you wait over 30 minutes just for a drink refill you really wish you could just fill it yourself. The real kicker came when it was time to pay. The dine-in server runs your card before ordering and then they ring up anything you order through the movie - similar to running a tab at a bar or nightclub. At the end of the movie you are usually given an itemized receipt to review, a receipt to sign and a copy for you - not in this case. Alison only brought the single receipt for my signature and no itemized receipt nor copy for my records. This was very odd and Alison was nowhere to be found so after the less than exceptional service I felt that something was not right and I took a picture of the receipt I signed. I am glad I did this as my credit card statement shows Alison charged over twice the tip I authorized. Looking at the receipt you can easily see that there is no way to interpret the amount I authorized to be what she charged so I have to assume this was an intentional change. As no receipt copies were provided, I also worry that this may a common practice for at least this server though potentially others since it can be difficult to recall the amount you authorized or dispute any discrepancy without a receipt. I understand that issues can occur, mistakes happen and that some employees are not honest. I am not someone that regularly complains, but I also don't like to be taken advantage of and expect a company to address problems when they are reported. I contacted AMC customer service about the issue and included pictures of the receipt I signed and the amount actually charged from my credit card statement. I only asked for them to make good on the difference I was overcharged though I figured they would offer something additional to compensate for the poor experience and incentivize me to return to the theatre. I received no response despite contacting them multiple times and even sending a Twitter message with the incident number. The lack of response leads me to believe this location is aware of these practices and has no desire to correct them. Based on this we have quit attending the theatre and been sharing our experience both on-line and in-real-life. read more

My fiance and I don't often go out these days, but we thought it would be fun to try Missoula's first dine-in movie theater! They only opened about a month ago, so we expected there to be a learning curve for staff and management, however, we were more than disappointed by the service we received. I'm writing this review for two reasons- one, so that hopefully the management at AMC realizes what's going on with customer service, and two, so that folks like us who only treat ourselves once in a while, might spend their well-earned money elsewhere until this theater gets it together a little better. We pre-bought our tickets for Ready, Player One, and we knew beforehand we were buying seats in the back row. It was disappointing to find out that the sound for the movie doesn't reach the nosebleed seats, and as it is an action movie, we were crushed that we couldn't get immersed in the film. Also, we had been so excited for the reclining seats! But for some reason, the designers of the theater put up a glass wall in front of each row of seats- short enough that sitting up you could see over it, but reclining at all made it so you were watching the lower half of the screen through a window! Weird. And the glass was gross and smudgy. So, the food service. Yikes. All in all, our experience cost us around $50. That was with two entrees, two drinks, and tickets. Not too bad, actually. Except that we really didn't feel the meal was worth half what we paid in the end. We hadn't realized they don't yet have their liquor license, which I think should be disclosed at ticket purchase. So, no adult beverages. Fine. We each bought a soda. Mine came warm, with maybe one ice cube in it. Not in a theater-sized cup, but in a restaurant coke-style glass. $5/soda. I knew there were going to be refills, so no problem. We ordered our food and drinks before the movie started, and though we knew it would take a while for them to bring it to us, it took longer than we expected. I was surprised, since the whole theater seemed fairly empty. When the staff brought us our food, we asked for refills on drinks, so we could have them while eating. Thirty minutes later, I felt they weren't really coming with our drinks, so I pressed the help button. Maybe twenty minutes later, someone came by to help us. I asked again for refills, and the server looked at her device and said, "Oh, whoever you asked first never let me know on here, so the kitchen never filled your drinks. Let me ask for those for you." After a while, I pressed the help button again and someone came by. Again, we asked for refills. By that time, the movie was wrapping up, so it was going to be a little pointless for them to bring us drinks. Still, we waited. Another twenty minutes, and it's the end scene. The same server comes back with our check, sees that we are without drinks still, and, while I'm trying to just enjoy this intense scene at the end of the movie, she sits down next to me with her device and the check to see what was going on with our order, and starts talking to me. She was so nice, but at the same time, I didn't want to talk about the issue, I just wanted to watch the movie we were paying for! So, I kind of laughed it off while trying to ignore her and enjoy the movie with my fiance. We would deal with the check after. The food itself was fine. I just didn't feel like complaining about it. My salad was wilted and warm, and my fiance's steak and macaroni was cold. Oh, well. I hope the service improves over time. There was no way, however, we were paying for $5 drinks that never got refilled. The waitress approached us as we left the theater with our check. We were hoping to find a manager to talk to. She was clearly frustrated with the evenings events, I know from overhearing that we weren't the only dissatisfied customers. We didn't blame our server at all, and she offered to comp the drinks. We let her, though we still payed way more for our food than what it was worth. We still tipped, because honestly I think the staff work their butts off, it's probably just as frustrating to them how disorganized the place is. Maybe it's a training problem, or being understaffed? I just don't think the theater should have opened before they were trained and ready to go. Or, at least, maybe not be charging as much for poor service. I was so excited to try out this theater, but honestly we won't be coming back. We'll spend less than $50 at our old theater, and still get better service with just popcorn and regular old seats. read more

We were very disappointed. We will not go back! My wife and I went to the 1:00 pm movie on a Wednesday for our date. There were 6 other people in the theater,which was great, we had our pick of seats and the seats were sooo comfy. We sat down and a waitress came and asked if we'd like to order anything, my wife answered. Could she get some water? The waitress said yes and returned with the water. So far so good. During the movie (Jurassic Park) my wife began severely shaking , asked me to go get something for her to eat (low blood sugar?) . I went out and found our waitress asked for a vending machine or to purchase some candy. I was told that they would bring it to our seats. I used a credit card to pay $4.49 for a bag, returned to my seat and we waited... My wife got very ill and had to miss the last thirty five minutes of the show, sitting on the floor in the ladies restroom (no chairs). The movie ended and I went to get her, Still No waitress, no candy. I was very concerned about my wife and still wanted to get her something ( furious ) I found the waitress again, explained the situation, she retrieved the candy from a nearby station. Missoula AMC Dine-in theater needs to get their act together. While the building is a super design and really nice, our first experience was not. First, very little staff in the front of the building to help out and answer questions. I counted 2 people total. We couldn't sit down because they were still cleaning it until right when show started even though we got there early to order food before the show. Then our row didn't have a server and we waited and waited (20 minutes). And the other servers didn't help when they were finished with their rows. They were very lax. Finally I had to go out and ask someone for help for our and finally a server showed up 5 minutes later. Drinks came about 15 minutes later (no straws & they brought diet soda instead of regular) and food took another 25 minutes. Food (brussel sprouts and fries) were WAY over salted so we only ate a little. No ketchup either. However the milk shake was good. The theater was super hot and then the air came on and made a high pitched noise during the movie. It is very clear more staff and more server training is needed. Maybe pay more to get quality staff? An elevated experience ($$) should include elevated service. We were excited and had high hopes & expectations (as promoted by AMC). Huge disappointment. The kinks should be worked out by now. We are exactly the target audience you want (movie buffs and disposable income) but we won't be back unless we hear major changes have been made. Sorry. read more

Was at the theater for a movie on Monday and movie started at 7:30. We arrive around 7:10 so that we could order food before the movie started. Waiter came up got our drink order we looked at the menu for a few minutes then pushed our button for service. It took him 5 to 10 minuets after pushing that button to come see us. We ordered and everyone started to file in around 7:30 to 7:45. The lady next to me ordered a burger when they arrived after us. By 8:30 I still did not have my food and the lady beside me got her burger, I decided to press my button again. Still took the guy another 15 minuets to come and see us. He said he would check on it and return with our burgers with cold fries and no ketchup. I was not about to press my button a third time for something I knew was going to take another 15 minuets. When I called on Tuesday the manager on shift tried to make the associate talk to me about the problem I had with how long it took us to get our food. Then she tried to pass blame and said I'd have to talk to the manager from that Monday night. Still have not gotten a call back and don't think I will. Won't be eating there again. read more
