I wanted to share an updated review of their BigD experience at Foothills 12! This has always been my go to for the big blockbuster movies. However, as you may hear from other older reviews it's true that it use to use a 2K digital Xenon projector. However, at least this one has been upgraded to AMC Laser and is 4K Laser now. Since then, there is a noticeable improvement and it's crisp and clear. My wife and I just watched Devil Wear Prada 2 and the sound and picture quality is too notch. I can't honestly compare it to Regal's Pinnacle IMAX since the last time I went it was a Xenon IMAX and it also has been upgraded to IMAX with Laser. But you will not be disappointed if you go to the AMC Foothills 12. Even though I don't live in Maryville anymore, I still travel there fort movies for several reasons but one is definitely because of the quality. read more

Bathrooms are dirty, baby changing unit has poop on it in ladies room. Theaters are hot and uncomfortable. If they can't play a particular movie they don't let you know, just let you sit and figure it out. Then play an alternative with no apologies. The staff is uninterested and bored to death. My advice, drive to Knoxville rather than waste your time and money here! read more

But of a movie freak! Food/Drink: Soda, popcorn, chips, cookies, hotdog, nachos, etc... Dinning Area: None. Prices: Relative prices. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back shared mall lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Equipment: Great equipment and technology was up to date. Picture was clear, volume was adequate, stadium seating, and experience was great! Movie theaters are struggling due to streaming and poor movies being offered so you would think they would try to make the movie going experience a memorable one. Unfortunately the AMC Foothills 12 has never been told about plumbers. In the one men's restroom neither of the urinals have worked for quite some time and in another, only one sink out of three works and that one provides only a trickle of cold water. read more

Horrendous bathrooms! Water running I. The men's room left end sink. I was kind enough to reach under and try to turn the valves off with 5 %50 success. This bathroom has not been properly cleaned in years. The chrome on the intoned and handles of the faucets was gross. No, it was disgusting. The mirrors are gross and need to be replaced. There is mold under the room of all of the three sing basins. read more

My boyfriend and I got tickets in the big D theater, a few months ago we went to see another movie and at the beginning during all the opening credits, I know some people dont care to watch them, but there was no picture just sound. It's more to go to that version Of seeing the movies than the other rooms so we wanted the full experience. Not only that, when I went to tell the people behind the counter their exact words were "it's fine you'll be able to see the movie and the new movies coming out." So if they know about the situation why are they not having it fixed? Then when I went to the bathroom, there was BM on almost every toilet seat, paper towels and toilet paper all over the bathroom and even some menstral blood on the floors. I would not recommend this theatre and if you live in the Maryville area it would just be best to waste your gas and go to the Knoxville theatres. They're pretty good at keeping everything clean and letting you see everything that has sound. read more

I was refused entry due to a medical disability and an inability to wear a mask. They would not even allow me to wear a bandana or neck gaiter. They let in another couple without a mask at all while we were taking to them and while we stood there 3 groups of teenagers congreated in the lobby without masks. We pointed this out. All of these individuals were allowed service at the concession counter while we watched and also allowed entry. I asked why they were not stopping them and was told they're already inside (too bad essentially) and we're not. Even though one walked past us for entry as we talked to the manager. I asked for a refund and was told to request it online. Because he kept me there for nearly 10 minutes it was now after the time the movie started the app won't let me m TThe manager rudely belittled me in the entry in front of guests for 7 minutes, I can't request a refund online. Two tickets and all our snacks. I've been a Premier Stubs member for a long time now. The state I'm in has government medical exemptions and the CDC states there are valid reasons for exceptions. The CDC does not state all people in any condition should wear a mask. Your own website says that you follow CDC guidelines which allow for exemption. Thus far we've been refused entry and a refund at the theater I need my money back and their management needs a lesson in disability awareness. read more

Bought tickets online. Drove down, about a 25-minute drive for me. Theatre down. No movie

I decided to catch a movie on a Saturday Afternoon while waiting for a flight out of McGhee Tyson Airport. This theater is not very far from the airport. The theater is located in a mall with access to the theater through the mall. The place didn't open until after 1 P. M. for a 1:30 show and you couldn't locate any hours. The theater is nice. The concessions seam to be pretty steep. The popcorn was cold. My biggest problem with this theater involves the management or lack of management. First lots of young kids arriving late after the movie started. They had no problem talking loudly or being rude. Since the movie was already fifteen minutes in, I don't think they should allow you in. You already missed the start so catch the next show. After they arrived, several were on cell phones the entire movie. The bright screens detracted from the movie and made the experience horrible. When the staff which is made up of teenagers are informed they do nothing. What is the point of going to a movie if you are not going to watch it? If you want to visit with friends and use your phone why not hang out at the food court. It's sad that a theater can't watch what is happening once a movie starts or fails to walk in to see if things are OK. Yeah maybe I am old or something, but I remember when there was staff in the theater walking around making sure you were courteous and behaving. They actually used to kick you out and that is how it should be. read more

This is our go to theater! It is close to home, the staff is friendly, I never have to wait in line long, and the theater is clean. The prices for food and drinks are obnoxious, but that's normal for a movie theater. Another negative is I can't ever buy tickets from the AMC app but that probably doesn't have anything to do with this theater. I use the AMC Rewards. Apparently you have to spend $250 to get $5 off but that's pretty normal Rewards if your comparing to retail stores. For someone who just sells theater tickets and snacks, seems high and like you'll never reach a reward which isn't very encouraging to come back. Because the prices of movies and snacks are so high we only go to the movies when big movies like Star Wars, Batman, and Deadpool come out. So I'd say we go four-ish times a year. We would come more if it was more affordable but, it's not ‍ $50 for movies and snacks for two people is a lot of money. So moral of the story, this theater is nice, but AMC Theaters needs to work on their app so it works better and the prices of their product. read more

Last movie I caught in the Theater was November 2019, so the excitement level was HIGH today! First time in a Theater in 2 years, highly anticipated film and movie lover, this is going to be great! The buzz of the Theater was sadly not in the air upon entrance but that's okay, it's the matinee right? Wrong, it's post apocalyptic covid 19 aftermath Theater experience where, the staff is short, the F's are not given and it shows at every corner. The popcorn was popcorn, the candy was candy but the experience was not the experience. The nonsense where off, the Theater doors were closed, no greeter, no usher...it was like a ghost town. We saw the first movie of the day, the Theater was filthy, trash everywhere, I thought it smelled like a locker room after the run in high school. No one is cleaning this Theater between showings but this is left over from the day before. I was uncomfortable and my senses were invaded by this smell the whole time. The movie was great! The experience was terrible. read more

Nice, clean movie theater in the Foothills mall. The entrance is a little weird and hard to find at first so I'm glad we allowed plenty of time for parking before the movie started. You buy tickets right at the concession stand. We had a large popcorn, and they gave us our free refill (that comes with the large size) at the same time so we would not have to come back during the middle of the movie. That made juggling a bunch of kids at the movies a much easier experience! read more

Since the thing is automated this creates a problem with A/V issues. Right channel speakers were dead thru the entire preview and movie. It seemed that the picture was also off the screen on the left as well. To me, audio is a major thing so any issues I'm quick to complain. Seat bottoms are beginning to wear as they are losing their padding and becoming hard. These things wouldn't be an issue if the prices were not so high. I almost expect them to serve me like at a restaurant of their gonna spike the prices. read more

To those who are complaining about the old, worn-out theater: Carmike Cinemas has just recently opened a new 12-screen theater in the nearby mall with all-digital projection, stadium seating, a Big D auditorium (similar to IMAX), and even Coca-Cola freestyle machines! Never had an issue here and it's my go to theater as it's the closest to home. Concession prices are crazy high just like everywhere but if you have the paid yearly membership you get a free popcorn and coke upgrade every visit so it pays for itself. It also waves the fee for buying advance tickets online. Overall nothing special about this theater that makes it stand out but it's clean and the seats are comfortable. read more

So, no box office. You have to stand un the concession line to get tickets which takes FOREVER. No ice in the drink machines, all 4 out of ice, 5.00 for a drink and no ice. Went back to concessions (back of the line) but they of course were too busy to refill the ice since there were only two people working and they were selling tickets AND concessions. If I hadn't purchased my tickets already I would have walked out. read more

There was a foul odor in the theater. The overhead lights remained on through the entire movie. It was supposed to be in BIG-D, their premium large screen format, however the image was completely off center and didn't fill the entire screen. I would give it one star but the manager did allow me to see an earlier show than the ticket I purchased. From now on I'll stick to watching movies at home. read more

Ok from reading on here people complained about the long wait getting tickets/snacks/drinks together. Personally I think it's a great idea. You've still got 2 lines. Before ticket then snacks now Ticket/snacks then drink. When I got in for a 1:35 Sunday showing. The line had about 40 people in it, however there was another line for those who prepaid for their tickets. That line was empty was my wait time in line was about 30 seconds. So our wait in line was great as well as the wait for drinks. Again this was a Sunday afternoon a Friday night might be a different story but you really should buy your tickets online to save some time. The seats were really comfortable. We were in auditorium #5. The sound was really good but not overpowering so. The 3rd was really good as well. I've been living out of the country for awhile so this was my first 3d movie in years. I was really impressed. My only beef was for the price of everything. Even the matinee price 10.50 for a 3d movie and then ask for the glasses back so they can be reused. I'll just keep mine thanks. For that you pay 6 dollars over the cost of the regular movie. 16 bucks for a large popcorn and drink. 16 bucks come on WTF. Then after that the movie was 10 minutes late because of commercials not even trailers but damn TV commercials. So will I go back again sure what choice do I have. The seats,sound and picture were all top notch but prices and commercials put me off a lot. read more

This is a pretty nice theatre. It could be so much better if it were only kept cleaner. The floors were sticky and there was popcorn and candy all over the floors. I just feel like it's not being taken care of. I hope it is cleaner on my next visit. read more

Let's start from the beginning. Parking: It's a fairly busy mall so parking is kind of a hassle, but no more than any other theater during peak times. However entry is behind the building. So instead of the entrance being right on the road you have to walk WAY around to enter. There is no cover or anything so if the weather is less than favorable you have a nice long walk in it before you can get inside. Ticket/Concession Lines: The reason these are together is because they are sold at the same place. Which seems like as convenience but most certainly is not. Concessions are generally slow at any theater, but at ticket purchasing to the equation and you have a downright disaster. A nice long wait. There is an express lane for fandango purchases... But that means you paid the $2 convenience fee on Fandango, and still have a possibly of standing in that line. Kiosks: There are none. Not one your only option is to waste away in the rediculous lines. Concessions: The food is standard fair. Good variety. The soda and popcorn are self serve. I love this except those areas feel chaotic and unorganized. But being able to butter up my popcorn and make the most epic Coke Freestyle Suicide ever off sets this disorder and mess. Movie Experience: Movie is experience is good. Seats feel plenty large for people of all sizes and the picture and sound is perfect. They have the "Big D" which isn't a sex thing, but I instead their premium movie experience. It's very nice and comparable to Regal's RPX. But it falls far short of the IMAX experience. In short Carmike tried a bunch if things that in my option ultimately fail. It would have gotten more stars if I could get to my theater without all this other junk, but I can't so it didn't get more stars. It's all you have in Maryville right now so drive to Knoxville. read more

Two bad experiences during the Christmas holiday, when one expects the theatres to be on their "A game." Inadequate staffing, lack of security. We had a group of 5 young men enter our theatre, put their feet up on our seat backs (right beside our faces), and they talked loudly during the movie. I found no security or mgmt on site...One week later, we purchased seats on Fandango, and could not find seats... One of the "supervisors" told us to take it up with Fandango, and that it was not their problem. read more

Yes finally Maryville upgraded their theater but somehow managed to combine ticket sales and snack sales. You are handed a bag and cup and told to get popcorn and drinks else where....Bad idea. Waiting in line for tickets is not unexpected but to wait in line for 15-20 mins for tickets then to have to wait in line for another 5-7 mins for your popcorn then another 5-7 mins for your drink, WHO in the world thought that would work? This ruins the whole movie experience for me. Its fine it you go when its not crowded but not on the Fri,Sat and Sundays better arrive 45 mins before your movie or you will miss the first 10 mins. No thanks I will go to another in K-town on those nights. Change the format please. I know that by forcing me to buy my ticket at the snack counter prompts me to buy more snacks but really doesn't customer satisfaction mean anything anymore? read more

Good theater with plenty of parking, it's kind of small inside and usually packed when new releases come out on Fridays. It's very kid friendly here and the prices are average, the theater itself is fairly old and the decor isn't all that appealing, to be honest when I go to the theater I kind of like the flashing lights and glitz and glam plastered about. It's part of a great theater experience so see the coming attractions all over the walls with lights chasing around the frame, just anything to add some zing. Sadly, you won't find that here, but you will find good customer service. read more

Today, I went to this movie theater to take in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." I expected, as in the other films in the Harry Potter franchise, a visual feast filled with twists and turns, displayed in high quality in the theater. The movie lived up to the billing, but the theater's display was a dim, unfocused mess. The picture was very dark, making some parts of the movie hard to see. In addition, the picture was unfocused; being more blurry and unfocused than the cheapest HDTV. The same problems happened when I saw the Force Awakens there. I suspect they built this new theater, and hauled in the ancient equipment from the rundown old theater to save a few bucks. All in all, I recommend you go to one of the other fine theaters in the area - Regal Pinnacle in Turkey Creek is good, as is Athens Movie Palace in Athens. read more

Went at 6:45 on a Friday evening prime time. Popcorn was cold and stale tasting. No popcorn flavoring is available at this theatre. I asked about souvenir refill cups or popcorn specials and the clerk said they didn't have any programs like that. Upon checking the app. They do have a popcorn souvenir buckets available for discounted prices to refill. The decor and theater itself was dated and dirty feeling. Once the movie started, a really bad reflection from the exit sign was visible on the screen the whole movie. The lights were lowered but never turned off throughout our entire movie. This affected the screen clarity. An attendant never stepped foot into the theatre to check on the theatre status. Also, Security is an issue. I never once was asked to present my ticket of admission or ID. Overall, disappointing from the theatre experience I've come accustomed too in Arizona. AMC needs to up there game. read more

You have to get a membership card to be able to qualify for $5 Tuesdays. The paper membership card is free but the hard copy has a fee. Luckily, my membership with Regal Cinemas transferred to the AMC free card. You have to spend $250 before you can get $5 off of anything with your membership card, per the gentleman that sold us our tickets. The air conditioning was broken in theater 12 but we weren't told that when we bought our ticket. We were only told that when we asked an employee to please turn the air conditioning up a little, due to the high temperature in the theater. It was too late at that point to go to another 7:30ish movie. The bathrooms were a mess. My husband and I were the only ones in the theater, so that was a plus. I have been going to foothills cinema for years. Movie date night will be at Turkey Creek from now on, even though we are 2 miles from foothills. Disappointing to say the least. read more

We arrived at 3:45 for a 4PM movie. The process to buy a ticket is horrible. They have combined the ticket sales line with the snack line. It sounds good in concept - when you buy your tickets you get popcorn at the same time. In reality, it makes the ticket buying process really slow. After waiting in a relatively short line for 15 minutes I complained to the young man taking our money. He agreed with me that the process was poor, but he said the theater was making a lot more money selling snack food than ever before. The movie theater itself was nice, but that doesn't make. Up for the poor customer experience to buy tickets. We will not be back. read more

What do you have to do to get fresh popcorn? I come here at least once or twice a month and can tell you honestly that I have not had even warm popcorn in at least 6 months. It's a nice theater otherwise. It's expensive...I don't mind purchasing it but I would rather spend more money driving to Knoxville if I can at least have hot popcorn, not the old leftovers. read more

You're better driving 30 minutes to Knoxville than wasting your time here. I'll keep this fairly short. 1. To get to the entrance at night you have to walk around the building through a small alley, 2. You buy your tickets at the concession stand. Business and up sell wise this is genius. Customer service wise it is terrible. I just waited in line 15 minutes and made no progress toward the front because there was one kid selling concessions and tickets at the same time. Now I'm home after I missed my movie. I can't wait to go see the movie tomorrow in Knoxville read more

The theater overall is an improvement over the old and outdated theater. That is about all the good I can say. Access to the theater is horrible. If you park on the wrong side of the theater (The mall entrance) in the evenings, you will have to walk all the way around the mall to get to your car because the bars go down when the rest of the mall closes and you cant cut thru anymore. If you park on the opposite side of the mall you have to walk past all the nasty dumpsters thru the concrete walled-in "Prison yard" to get into the theater. Kinda scary at night. Handicapped access is non-existent which conflicts with accessabillity laws for the handicapped. There is a ramp but you cant get in that door. Pushing a wheelchair thru the zigzagging line is torturous and there are few places to sit and those are bar stool type chairs at small tables. When it rains the drain from the roof drains the water out into the prison yard right where you walk out the doors so you walk thru the draining water??????? Sadly, I prefer the old theater. Parking was actually better, service was better, friendlier and quicker, and the environment was much more inviting. Also, I will never buy snacks at a theater again. 2 tickets, small popcorn and small drink for two @ $38.00???? I have better things to spend my money on. read more
