Since I can't reach a human on the phone! I went to the 9pm showing off the Stranger Things finale in theater 4 at the Hoffman Center and it was the worst experience of my life. Not only were we let into the theater late. But no employee announced that the showing was cancelled. And there was complete chaos, long lines for customer service. I was so looking forward to this and me and my boyfriend wasted hours of our New Years Eve getting to the theater, finding out at 9:30there was an issue, and having to hear from other customers what was even going on. No employee made any announcement or gave any direction. I want my money back NOW. This was handled so badly and nearly ruined our night. I cannot believe how unprofessional and careless the workers were. And rude. I didn't get to see the show in the theater like we wanted and had to go home and watch it. This was supposed to be a fun night and you ruined it and offered no compensation. And you have made it impossible to even talk to someone. Give me money money back! read more

The theater validates parking in the adjacent garage. I love how huge the grand foyer is with the high ceilings and the escalators. It gives it an upscale feel. The ticket taker was helpful, friendly, and navigated us to our theater. The interior of the theater was clean and well maintained. The auditorium for our "Caught Stealing" movie was in good condition, with standard but comfortable seating. Only a few of the auditoriums in this cineplex have the plush recliners, unlike other AMCs where every single auditorium is equipped with the recliners. read more

A great, convenient place to watch a film and escape! Like most other movie theatres now, you have plenty of choices of films, as well as scheduled times to watch. It's near Eisenhower metro stop, and there are plenty parking spots and plenty of places to eat. This theatre is spacious. No, I mean giant-normous spacious! I attended the Yelp Elite Squad Preview screening of Working Man last night. Hosts and hostesses were fantastic. Like you dont already know, be prepared to spend $ here, but you already know that because you want that popcorn and drink, and maybe a bit of candy too? If it's busy, you may have to wait in long lines to get your snacks. Just arrive several minutes before your scheduled screening. Watch out for those loooonnnng escalators if you are not familiar with this place. read more

Average movie theater. The seats aren't updated, so no recliners. I was surprised that of 3 soda machines, 2 of them were out of order. The theater is definitely in need of renovation, but otherwise clean. Staff were nice. Parking is behind the theater, they validate inside. Today, I attended the 11:15 a.m. showing of David at your theater. When I left, my keys fell under my seat without my knowledge. Attached to those keys were my wallet, car keys, house keys, an AirTag, and necessary medication. Around 4:00 p.m., once I realized they were missing, I returned to the theater to retrieve them. When I approached the counter and explained that I had lost my keys, the employee at the desk ignored me entirely. At that point, the tall white male manager took over and asked what my keys looked like. After I described them, he immediately insisted the keys were not there. I explained that my AirTag showed the keys were still in Theater 11, pinpointed down to the exact location. I showed him the active AirTag signal confirming they were inside the theater. Instead of assisting, he called someone, then told me no one could enter or exit the theater during a showing. This was clearly untrue, as guests were able to use the restroom during my showing and an employee even entered during the film to clean. When I asked if I truly had to wait an hour to retrieve medication I needed, the manager raised his voice, turned his back to me mid-sentence, and completely ignored me. When I attempted again to clarify the urgency due to my medication, he became even louder and openly escalated the situation. I calmly stopped engaging and informed him I would contact the police for assistance. While I was on the phone with the police, they stated they were shocked that the theater refused to return property that was clearly confirmed by an AirTag. They also stated that they were on the way to assist. During this time, the manager and the employee at the counter began making loud, unprofessional comments about me. The manager then stated, within earshot, "She can do whatever she wants. I don't really care." My mother then walked into the building, went directly into Theater 11 without issue, picked my keys and medication up off the floor, and walked right back out. This proved that the manager could have easily done this from the start. When she questioned why he refused to assist, he raised his voice at her as well and continued escalating the situation instead of apologizing or correcting course. He also falsely claimed law enforcement would say the exact same thing, even though the police had already stated they were coming to assist. From the moment I approached the desk, this manager displayed hostility, refusal to help, and blatant disregard for both guest safety and basic professionalism. His comments to staff about me were inappropriate, his dismissal of my legitimate concern was unacceptable, and the staff member ignoring me initially was unprofessional. I had spent money at your establishment earlier that same day, only to be treated disrespectfully while trying to retrieve essential personal property and medication. This experience was appalling and completely avoidable. The manager even stated that we are free to contact corporate because they won't do anything to him. I am requesting: * A formal written apology * Accountability and corrective action for this manager's behavior * Confirmation of staff training expectations regarding guest assistance and professionalism Until this is addressed appropriately, my family and I will not be returning to this location or spending another cent here. I look forward to a prompt response. read more

We went and saw Alien Romulus in the Dolby here and really enjoyed it. The place was generally clean and had one of the largest Dolbys I've been in. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was they had no impossible nuggets and the popcorn was cold. Neat experience all the same though. read more

I was researching movie viewing options for a friend who was hearing impaired, and was unsure how far in advance I would need to reserve a Closed Captioning Device for him. I spoke with a wonderful employee named Fatima, who told me that my friend and I would just need to visit Guest Services prior to the beginning of the film, and request a Closed Captioning Device at that time. It was great to talk to someone who took pride in her work and cared about her customers. read more

The staff here, good. What you see is what you get; a place to watch a movie. But to be honest - for the location of the Hoffman - the shopping centers close, a parking garage walking distance, etc. I was TRULY looking for an updated theater. Cloth seats, no reclining chairs, I was almost offended (spoiled much? Maybe) - it just, seemed to be outdated to me. And from what I see at theater #10, there are at least 22 rooms to watch movies in. If not more. Maybe it's an up and coming project for the Hoffman complex to update, but I was unimpressed and disappointed at how outdated this location is - especially having Dolby and IMAX showings available. read more

Stay far, far away. This summer, an older man on a Wednesday evening -- I think it is $5 movie night -- touched an underage child. The child was upset and, along with friends, told the manager. The manager of this theater did NOTHING. Not a darn thing - other than give the parent attitude, who then showed up to help his child when they asked for something to be done. They would not call the police, so the man was able to get away. If they had acted like decent people, something could have been done. If you have younger kids, beware. I can't imagine this hasn't happened here before, given the lack of care from the management team. Just say no. Earlier this Summer, the only way you could reach this company was through Facebook Messenger. That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. They clearly do not care and close the chat out over and over again. You never get to talk to anyone to address the issue. This company truly doesn't care what happens in their theaters. read more

Plenty of screens to watch movies the food is nice and fresh and the staff very friendly and EXTREMELY clean which is huge. But what it lacks is updated seating and the theater seems small and kind of cramped. Plus it was quite warm as well. But luckily it was nowhere near packed which was a blessing as it would have been unbearable. Would I return maybe if there was something I really wanted to see. Like I said this theater has a great selection of movies...So overall not a terrible theater but just not first or one of the first on my list to come to. My go to spot for movies in this area. Validated parking too. Saw the Joker Deux in Dolby. Helped that this was essentially a musical. The colors pop and sound in intense. I couldn't record the actual theafter because it was already dark and I didn't want to be rude, but it was filthy. The staff didn't even attempt to clean after the last movie. For an AMC, the theater is a huge complex with multiple floors. As soon as you walk in you get a feel for how massive the place is. There is an atrium where everything takes place from buying tickets to purchasing food before/ during your movie. In addition, this place has a huge amount of theaters and showings in comparison to other theaters aground the DMV. I also liked the fact that there were computerized kiosks where you could just buy your own tickets instead of waiting in line for a cashier--for 3D, IMAX, or the standard showings). The negatives, however are apparent from the small theater rooms, uncomfortable non-reclining seats and parking that is too far from the theater itself which could be a bit of a hike for a senior patron or someone with a disability. Oh! Another negative....no bar or libation! In all, despite these short comings, it's not a bad theater. There's just a few things that "I" have been spoiled by other theaters that make me tend to be a bit harsh on this one. But seriously, you can't beat the IMAX format and at least the convenience of getting to this location from the city and/or major highways. Also, because of its location being off the beaten path or a distance from the city....you don't get a lot of riff-raff, loud teenagers with no home training or ratchet folks (your typical Shanay-nays, Tyrone's, & Becky's included) that tend to ruin the experience in the movie!...which is an added plus in my opinion!! lol There are many other theaters around the DMV that are more full-service than this one. But, I will say for blockbuster openings you can't go wrong with this theater because it tends to have a large number of theater rooms and showing times that run late into the night! So check it out for yourself. It serves it purpose for catching a good show, with no distractions at least. read more

AMC Hoffman is about 3.5 stars when it comes to movie theaters but since I came in on Christmas Day I'm embracing that spirit and rounding up. For starters give yourself a little time to park in the garage before arrival - it's not the place you pull up and park out front. Parking is intended to be free but the day we went the machine that validating tickets was broken? The theater itself was fine but the seats don't have all the bells and whistles. At this point it seems most theaters have reclining seats with ample space but this theater is not among them. It's fine - but not my first choice. Normally I would say "meh it's a movie theater so it is what it is" but the fact that they charge premium pricing in line with the nicer theaters it's a bit of a turn off that it's not a more "luxury" theater. Other than the outdated theaters themselves the place was just okay. Staff was mildly helpful and cleanliness was about 3.5/5 stars. It's not my first choice but it's an okay place to catch a movie! read more

There was a time years ago when this was my go-to movie theater. It was the perfect spot for teenage me because it was right across from the metro station. I visited recently because it was close to my mother's house. I'm happy to see they have built up in the area. There are more food options available within walking distance of the theater. The parking situation has changed since my last visit so I'm not sure if they still validate parking for movie patrons. I didn't see any signs around like in the past. The theater was packed and the concessions line on the ground level was ridiculous. The theater felt outdated. There weren't any perks like the reclining chairs at other theaters and the seats were dirty. Hoffman used to hold a special place in my life because I've watched so many movies there but I think I have outgrown this theater. read more

Well, what can I say it's a movie theatre. Not packed like it used to be, that's good. Well if you're a viewer it is, not so much for the business owners (employee's don't care as much). Screens are a little outdated, my $400 dollar tv looks better than the screen. That says a lot. Bigger isn't always better I guess. The sound is outdated too. Except for the IMAX, the sound sounds the same as 2004. That's 21 years of the same sound, no updates, screens too. Wow, well I set up a home theatre at home and I'm fine with that for now. Pop corn is good, although by the third week of me coming there the last thing I want is pop corn. read more

Now this place isn't the fanciest but it got the job done. It was clean and somewhat simple to navigate. Best part was since they don't serve food there are plenty of options available right there. I stopped into the Mexican restaurant right beside the theatre, had me a quesadilla and a margarita and that was that-- rounds complete! Parking is also free if you scan before you leave the theatre but you have to park in their garage! I love going to the movies and I am grateful to AMC for playing Luther Vandross: Never Too Much (2024). It was everything I could have imagined and more!! read more

I'm an AMC A-List member reviewing various AMCs throughout the country. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger AMC fan or someone that goes more often than me - however, this has got to be among the worst of the DMV AMCs. I used to come to this theater often as a child in the late 90s/2000s, and I can say with confidence that almost nothing has been changed or updated in this theater since then. Seats: Vary based on individual theater but most are not reclining. The seats are '90s style and are particularly uncomfortable. Screens: Vary based on individual theaters, but I saw the new Spiderverse the other day in a theater that had to have been built for IMAX or other large-format, and the screen is TINY in comparison to the gargantuan oversized theater. It's almost comical. It was so small it was hard to see from the top row. Part of the view in the top row of this particular theater (7) was obstructed by an incomprehensible set of stairs. Macguffins Bar: Nope, and it's a shame because a drink would have really improved this experience. Snacks: Significantly worse than other AMC locations. I get one of the AMC flatbread pizzas nearly every time I see a movie, and this was by far the worst I've tasted. The lines for snacks are long and disorganized, and their order-ahead system was malfunctioning. Crowd: If you're not a fan of rowdy teens, skip this one. Very busy theater, though there are so many individual theaters that you may wind up in a quiet screening. Luck of the draw. Bathrooms: Fair in terms of cleanliness. Parking: There's a garage, and they validate for up to 4 hours. But what if I want to use my A-list to see a double feature? There's also a metro stop right across the street, so at least there's that. Nicole Kidman AMC ad: Thank god - yes. The lobby of this theater is fairly nice. That's about all I can say for it. The state of the individual theater playing the brand-new film SPIDERMAN: ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE was abysmal (again, it was Theater 7). Terrible sound, the room isn't designed right so it echoes the entire time, terribly small screen, and very uncomfortable seats. I believe there are updated Dolby theaters and other premium screens, but the state of the regular theaters is borderline unacceptable. Hoffman is in DESPERATE need of an upgrade, and until that happens, I probably won't be back. 2/5 stars. read more

This theater is getting a little shabby. Wherever I go, I see many stained seats that are ready for reupholstering. But I still enjoy the wide selection of movies that this TWENTY TWO screen theater offers! The biggest change I wish the theater could make is to add some handicapped parking spaces a shorter distance to the front door. For folks with mobility challenges, that would make the overall movie-going experience so much more enjoyable. The parking spots directly across from the theater are explicitly labeled as not available for movie patrons. If you want recliners for a non-Dolby show, you've got to trek to Georgetown or another area AMC. If you want heated recliners, you've got to check out Showplace Icon in Tysons. One more thing to add to the Hoffman wishlist: recliners in more theaters and make 'em heated, please! read more

This is a huge theater. It is two stories tall and is spacious. The only complaints I would have are the food service and cleanliness. I did an online order for the Avatar bowl and cup before coming here. When I came here, I had to get the workers attention, since they act like I do not exist. Once I got someone, they acknowledged me and looked like they were prepping my order. Turns out he was just doing something else for a good 10 minutes. Then I went to another person to say my order. Thankfully she was willing to get our food. The butter and drink stations were sticky, wet, and just uncomfortable. Besides that, the movie theater seemed normal. I hope this place stays. I also like the free parking for the garage. read more

This is our go to theater because it's close to our house, had a lot of movies running, and has free parking with movie validation. But I think the management could do better. The lobby of always messy and the Coca Cola freestyle machines are always wet and dirty, and empty of certain flavors. How can you charge $7.50 for fifty cents worth of sugar water and somehow can't keep the machine refreshed? It's $23.78 for an enormous pretzel and a coke, but they can't afford a mop to mop up the water on the floor under the soda fountains? We'll keep coming, but it would be nicer if they could clean up the joint. read more

I literally said earlier today when considering a visit to this theater "I really don't turn to YELP for movie theater reviews." I should've read the reviews. This theater is disappointing. It's massive, understaffed and dirty. The seating is out of date. I encountered one friendly employee behind the concession area. Speaking of the concession area it was a dirty filthy mess. No one had attended to it for hours. Three of the four butter topping stations were empty, the Icee stations was covered in over-pours. The women's restroom I visited was actually clean. I know the theater can't control this. But I was surprised by the number of rude audience members talking. And to my chagrin, throwing candy!?!? Good thing I don't live here. The theater is a disappointment. I'll stick to my nice, clean theaters in Houston. read more

Went to see Oppenheimer last night while our family was in town for vacation. About an hour into the movie, we heard screaming in another language in our theater but wasn't coming from anyone watching the movie. Rather odd. Then an hour later, all of a sudden the slamming of doors, screaming into the theater again and this went on for about 10 minutes. Some patrons went to see what was going on and then all of a sudden everyone in the theater got up to leave. The people were still banging doors closed, yelling in a language no one understood and assuming it was on a top level because it wasn't the doors any of us entered. We decided to leave as the entire situation was a bit scary. Hated that we missed the last hour of a movie but would rather be safe than sorry. Won't ever return to this theater. read more

First off, service and staff were great. Reality, we're officially too old and too comfortable on our own sofa to sit in "traditional" movie theater seats where you're elbow to elbow with a stranger and step on other's feet in order to get out. I thought I read that this theater has the lounge seats but maybe that's just in one of their theaters. The movie we saw had a terribly cramped seating arrangement. We left early, and I managed to trip over some poor lady's feet on my way out. We won't go back until they refurbish the seating. read more

Felt like a waste of money. AMC Hoffman used to be a choice date spot for my spouse and me. We were looking forward to experiencing it again. Theater number 7 projected broken, near constant lines, in a particular section of the screen. I couldn't ignore it. I tried. I would've been happier watching the television at home. The seats are average, not ideal for three hours. The room looked aged when the lights were up. I am not sure if there's some remodeling going on or something. The parking was really easy as we parked in the parking garage. We validated our parking ticket in the theater lobby for free parking. We walked right in to purchase tickets. We were glad we didn't have to wait long at the food and drink area. Our movie was playing in theater 1. The theater was clean and well lit, so it was easy to locate our seats. Whew, the seats. They were so uncomfortable. I did lots of shifting during the film. I even raised the arm rest to attempt to get comfortable. It would be great if the Hoffman upgraded their seats to the plush recliners. read more
