Anywho, I decided to treat myself to 'The Woman King' because I was in the area and able to snag tickets 5 minutes before showtime AND score second-row seating. I ordered the kids meal pack, which includes a small popcorn (the perfect serving size for me), fruit snack, and bottled water. I ditched the water for a wild cherry/blue raspberry ICEE, because I will NEVER turn down the chance to get a wild cherry/blue raspberry ICEE. I hope they hurry up and repair/remove the seating. Reclining leather seats are definitely a plus, but these are always squeaky and clunky. These seats have needed maintenance since way before-COVID. I took the kids to see "A Quiet Place" on Saturday and never again. How in the world do you not have any cheese for the nachos? That is beyond me. Also this theater no longer has boxes for you to pour your popcorn into. They gave me a plastic shopping bag. To add insult to injury, the three seats I purchased reclining function did not work. ATTENTION ALL AMC Theatres CUSTOMERS: **** This was my husband's attempt to contact AMC about this situation on their website only for it to also have technical issues and would not submit**** Also be aware the "customer service number available online (888)562-4262 is just a prerecorded message advising to use their website (that isn't functioning) or to contact them on facebook**** My wife and I have been A-List members since 2018. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, we reserved tickets for the February 16th 11:00 AM showing of Captain America: Brave New World at the St. Charles Town Center 9 theaters in Waldorf, MD. We arrived at the theater by 10:30 in order to get our snacks and get settled before the movie started. When we went to get our tickets scanned, they showed up on our phone apps on the "Upcoming Events" page. However, when we tapped on the ticket to get the QRC code to we both got your cure "Oops an error has occurred" screen with a retry button. The retry button did not work. Luckily, my wife always stores her tickets in her Apple Wallet, and I take a screen shot of mine, anticipating possible cellular problems. We showed them to the ticket taker, but they would not scan. At that point, he tried to tell us that it was "something on our end" or that we had obviously cancelled or refunded our tickets. We informed him that we had not cancelled our tickets, because, if we had done so, the show would not appear on our "Upcoming Events" screen. Obviously a problem within the AMC app, it was not "something on our end". That made it his problem to rectify, he being a representative of the company that we paid for this service. At that point, he told us to just go ahead and take the seats. We went and got our snacks, then took our seats. Just as the trailers were ending, someone else showed up with tickets to the same seats. We showed them our tickets and suggested that they go speak with the manager, as we had already been there and settled for 30 minutes. A few minutes later, the manager showed up and belligerently told us that it was obviously something on our end and that we would have to come up to the service desk to straighten it out. As the movie was about to start, I was not very happy about this. We collected our stuff and went and talked to him about it. Again, he claimed that it was "something on our end or something we did." I don't even know what that means. Then he said that we probably cancelled our tickets, like we were trying to get free movies or something. As I stated, we have been A List members since 2018. On our best months, we may see 3 or 4 movies in a month, which makes the cost worthwhile. There are months where we pay for the service, but don't go to the movies. The last movie that we had seen was Wicked on November 23 of last year. We are not trying to scam AMC out of a "free" movie. The fact that he made that implication was incredibly insulting. He then offered to seat us in different seats, but, as the movie was already starting, we declined and left the theater. We understand that sometimes technology gets glitchy, however, it is your (AMC and their representatives) responsibility to try to make it right. Your employee should have offered to seat us in different seats when we first arrived, not try to insinuate we had somehow manipulated or misused an app that we had be using for nearly 7 years. After the other couple showed up, he should have seated them in different seats. Most importantly of all, your employee should not have been so rude from the outset. In an industry that is struggling to keep people coming out to the movies, you should be making an extra effort to provide your customers what they paid for. By the way, I tried to attach screenshots of my ticket confirmations and QRC, but your website errored out. Maybe you need to re-assess your IT department. read more

I have tried so many times to give this place a chance. It's unkept, I usually go to the first or second show during the week. It seems regular cleaning is not being done the drink area is often dirty , the condiments area is often dirty and empty and the bathrooms usually show signs they are not being maintained or cleaned. I don't go into the bathrooms anymore at this location. Really no excuse for a bathroom to be dirty hours after it opens. The theater itself is sometimes clean and sometimes not it's a 50-50 chance with that and I usually only go to the matinee shows which is early. There are alot of young staff and some not all can be rude. This location is the closest theatre to my home, however we often drive to Arlington or Georgetown to see a movie where it is clean and customer service is always top notch. We are A-List members so we go to movies quite often. Better management team and better staff is needed at this location. read more

The last few times my wife & I have visited this AMC theater the auditoriums were uncomfortably cold. Complaining had no good effect at all. One employee informed us the auditorium we were in had equipment issues. But we've encountered this no heat situation in multiple auditoriums at multiple times. I haven't been to this theater dice before the pandemic. I was surprised, it was clean, the service was good and surprisingly the hot food at the concessions wasn't bad. It was expensive but better tasting than I thought it would be. The theater lobby and theater were both clean. No issues with seating, or unruly guests. We saw Gladiator 2. In theater #2 for a 1:30 pm movie during the week. I don't know about weekends but I would go for an afternoon movie during the week once in a while as a treat just to experience a movie on the big screen. read more

This is the saddest movie theater I have been to in my entire life. It was a small place and I also noted that the staff were not following the current masking policies, which was a bit irritating. Next up was finding that even as the theater was mostly empty, the bathrooms were disgusting. We then went to take our seat and found people sitting in that area. Clearly people just snuck into the movie and then acted confused as to where their seat was. We sat, still looking forward to the movie. And then the couple next to us removed their shoes and put their nasty feet up. It was my first and last unpleasant visit to this location. Even if this theater is close, you're better off driving farther out to get to a good location. That's what we did for the next movie we wanted to watch. read more

Awesome service. The minute I walked in all the way until we left. I had my granddaughter with me and was worried how to juggle getting snacks, etc. Concessions staff was super friendly. Wish I would have got the young guys name. The lady who checked us in at the front was so sweet. She was there the last time my husband and I went. This time I asked for her name. Not sure if she is a manager or not. Her name was Brioni. She deserves a raise. We are stubs members and used to go all the time pre- Covid. We just started getting back and going a lot lately. I enjoying going to the movies but I dislike when the concession counter is poorly managed. It is 4pm on a Saturday can wait to Kevin Hart's new movie, so I arrive prior to movie time. First thing I do is get into premier-stub holders line that should move quicker and easier "NOT" there wasn't enough people so instead of being able to see the previews I got to my seat just in time. I am very pleased with this theater and we happily come anytime there is a movie that we want to see. The assigned seating alone is one of the greatest ideas ever...LOL. It is so nice to be able to buy your tickets ahead of time on the app, choose your seats and then not have to worry about getting there early in order to get a decent seat. Because of the larger, nicer seats there are less in each theater so you definitely want to plan ahead for your tickets, if possible. I know the theater as a whole is very old but I think just about every inch of it has been updated. The new reclining seats have even been replaced once since they did the initial makeover. Every time we are here we find the lobby area to be clean. The person checking tickets at the door is always very friendly, believe it or not. The only thing I dislike about the theater is the fact that they chose to get those Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. I just do not like drinking soda out of those...it doesn't taste as good and it's not like an old-fashioned fountain soda but I digress. We really have no major complaints about this theater and will continue choosing this is our go to! read more

I went and upon arriving checked In and ordered food. I was running a little late and when I went in the theater my seats were occupied. I politely told the occupants they were In my seats. One told me they were not going to move then the male with her became confrontational. Keep in mind I'm with my children and my first instinct is always to protect them. There was a whole loud commotion and not one staff member came to assist. Then when I spoke with management I was told basically I was wrong for ever asking for my seats and they usually call the police and have everyone removed. I used to go to this theater years ago when I was a young child. I do not remember much about the set-up, but I do remember that it was old, dark, and dirty--needless to say that I was apprehensive about checking this place out again in 2019. But, after a 15-year hiatus, I made my way back to the theater, and I was pleasantly surprised. Though the theater is small, AMC St. Charles has made such efficient use of space. When you first walk in, you are greeted by the ticket scanner. For some customers, this may be abrupt and a bit uncomfortable (due to potential congestion), but for someone who comes into the theater with their tickets on their phone, it is perfect. The theater provides reclining seats in all nine of the individual theaters, which is a perk for some people. I, on the other hand, think it could be a tad limiting because it takes up a lot of space in individual theaters, and that leads to fewer seats per theater. Overall, the theater has certainly revamped since my young years, as it no longer feels old, dark, or dirty. Instead, the theater has proven to be a solid option for my early morning movie showings. Note: I recommend visiting for an early morning matinee when the movies are only $6. read more

I haven't been here since the upgrade and the only reason I went back is b/c a friend of mine said, "oh no it's remodeled and nice". Well here goes! 1. The food process...on a Friday night they have in person reading and preparing food orders. 2. The bathroom had toilet paper all over the floors. This was around 9:30p. 3. The carpeted and non carpeted area were still sticky. 4. The sound system sounded like it was being played through a book box with busted speakers. Many guest went and said something. Was told they couldn't fix the sound AND just wait for the movie to start b/c it might be better. It wasn't. Movie went off. Employee came in and said they are going to rewind it some and try it again. Well, that fixed it. Just had to rewatch the trailers again. 5. The bathroom looked the same at 1am. This was the first time that I visited this movie theatre. I was incredibly surprised by the size of the theatre and the cool reclining seats. When my boyfriend and I arrived at the movie theatre, there was no one there to scan our tickets, so we just walked in and got in line for concessions. Then when we got our popcorn I did not know that a large cost $9 and it was a good surprise. When we got in our theatre, we thought the ads should have stared but they hadn't and it was half an hour before the movie was supposed to start. Eventually, they started and the theatre started to fill up. After the movie, I went to the restroom and it was mainly clean. So normally I love this place but it is straight up becoming more and more hood everytime I go. Half the employees just shuffle around and act like they are just killing time until their shift ends. The prices to see movies and eat there are beyond outrageous so going in three evening is a very expensive thing if you don't belong to the Stubs program to at least get $10 for every $100 you spend. Went to see the 6 PM showing of Mission Impossible with my husband and adult son. Glad I had reserved seats online because theater was full when we got there. Went to use the ladies room prior to the movie starting and it was very clean. Movie finished around 8:30 PM and I had to use the facilities again. This time, the whole restroom was virtually unusable. Every stall was out of toilet paper and most stalls had toilet paper all over the floor and toilets close to overflowing because they had been filled with crap literally and figuratively. I took a pic of one of the better stalls and showed it to the customer service desk. The floors were wet and nasty too. The gentleman I showed the pics to was like oh heck no it should not look like that and was very apologetic (I think his name was Malek - he deserves kudos for his customer service skills as well as the manager Christina who helped me out earlier but was not around for this issue). From now on I am sticking to my Sunday morning $5 movies before all the hood rats wake up again. The place is spotless then and the employees are at least more friendly and helpful. read more

Others always complain about Prince Georges, looks to me like Waldorf isnt doing that much better. First and last visit for me. I couldve drove to Marlow Heights. Movie was good. Service was fast. We LOVE this theater!! It's not too big and not too small, most of all we love the seats! The theater chairs are clean and comfy and we can just sit back and relax as we watch our movie I do suggest you get your seats online because it's limited and if your like me and want to sit in a certain area you'll be happy you did! Staff is always friendly and I did notice on the evening shows they have 2 off duty Cops working (a huge plus) although the ppl who come are nice and I've never experienced any foolishness but it's still nice to see (yeah I feel safer) The food is good, although you can use your AMC rewards we try to eat home or at Red Robin so We don't spend an arm and leg there. They do have the best Soda Machines where you can have any kind of drink you want! My peeps Are diabetic so they always get Vanilla sugar free Diet Coke or Root Beer Thumbs up to this place we love it! read more

I.LOVE.THIS.THEATER! This theater scores a five despite having flashier theaters within 50 miles. Though it's on the smaller side and does not serve alcohol or full plates, I call this my #1 choice. I've been going to this theater since 1998 (well before the renovations). I stopped for a while, but returned after hearing they were the first in the area to upgrade to the assigned, reclined seating. As an avid moviegoer, I love how the seats are assigned. I also love the amount of room in the seats. Most of all, I love how the theaters are intimate and don't hold huge crowds. I also love how AMC plays movies as early as 9:30a.m. They also have a senior day and many more days that help cater to certain crowds. I absolutely love this! The concessions offer candy, ice cream treats, popcorn, hotdogs, chicken tenders, fries, pizza, nachos, and more. There are self-serve soda machines which is great for mixing a variety of juice drinks. I have noticed that many people put their feet on the recliners, afterall it's hard not to. So there are wear and tear in some of the recliners. The last time I went, it appeared AMC may have fixed some of those recliners. It would be helpful to know if this is standard or will continue to be the case. Appearance is everything. The theater stays COLD. Wear warm clothes or bring a blanket. There is ample parking and this place is within walking distance to St. Charles Towne Center. There are also a few restaurants in the area for those that wish to dine before or after. read more

We've only watched at this location one time, but it was a nice visit. We learned that they had a renovation done and we were surprised to see that they offered the recliner seats. This was our first time ever going to a theater with this type of seating so it was very enjoyable while watching the movie. The seats are comfortable and the middle arm rest lifts up if you care to snuggle up next to your seat mate. I also like the snack section with the coke dispenser. so many different types of coke beverages to try at your fingertips! They also have assigned seating which really helps so you do not have to rush to find a seat or worry if there are any good seats left. read more

It is an older AMC theater, but it needs a little TLC in the lobby and parking lot First impressions do make a difference. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were here this week and it was great. First the tickets and popcorn are not expensive. This is by itself a reason to come here. second, we were the only people in the room (minus a couple seating far behind us!) It felt like a private show. I love going to the movies. And I have to admit, that I was one of the many Waldorf area residents who chose to drive all the way to Kingstown or Hoffman in VA for their movie experience. But now that this theatre has been renovated, I am pleased that I will save major $$$ in gas. I have only a 5 minute drive to what is IMO, now one of the best theaters in the Washington DC area. The newly painted theater now has self -serve ticket kiosks, self-serve soda dispensers, nice carpeted floors (no more sticky floor, Yay!), and a booming, crisp sound system. Even the employees seem more pleasant and customer service oriented than before. But the best improvement has got to be these big plush seats, with the cup holder in the armrest that recline all the way back. It's the same kind of seats that those fortunate enough to have a home theater have. A tap of a button and your seat reclines back as far as you want. Lift up the armrest between your seat and your significant other and you get instant loveseat (or love-chaise depending on your recline position). Let me put it this way. If you go to a boring movie here, you WILL fall asleep. The plush seating comes with a cost: There are now a lot less seats available. Your best bet is to buy your tickets online, and get to the theater early. If you live in the area and were going to movie theaters in VA like me, you need to check St. Charles out again. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Kudos to AMC for the renovations. read more

LOVE THE ASSIGNED SEATING!!! Love that fact I don't have to arrive 25 minutes early to grab my seat. Not really interested in the previews so I can arrive about 10 minutes into the previews and still be in my ASSIGNED seat when the movie starts.
