I saw Avatar: Fire and Ash last night and the movie is magnificent! It was just as amazing as the first one and definitely better than the second franchise, The Way of Water. Our movie was in room #11 and the seats were great. They were spacious and comfortable, with easy reclining options. The seating arrangement was perfect, ensuring that no one could obstruct our view. However, the speakers were uncomfortably loud during all the trailers. The sound was blaring and when I brought this to the attention of a staff member, he informed me that there had been numerous complaints about the loudness. He assured me that the sound would improve once the actual movie began. He was correct; it did get better once the movie started. Just be aware that if you're in that room, the sound will improve once the movie starts. The theater is located inside a mall, which isn't a problem. However, the only way to enter is through the mall entrance and if you watch a late movie like I did last night, you must exit through their back doors. Unfortunately, the backdoor exit area lacks visibility and made me felt a bit unsafe. Also, I'm not sure if it was because of Christmas day and they didn't have enough staff but the restrooms were in terrible condition, with soiled floors, overflowing trash bins, and a lack of toilet paper in the stalls. This theater is located inside Katy Mills Mall. Your experience really depends on which auditorium you're assigned. Today, the seats felt a bit outdated and worn, though last week I was in a newer, more comfortable theater. I really enjoy the snack and drink options and they have a great selection! One thing to note: it gets very cold inside, so I recommend bringing a blanket. While the staff are super friendly and the restrooms are clean, overall, I personally prefer the Cinemark in Katy. read more

My sisters and I came to see the Stranger Things finale. I was skeptical to go to this theater because from outside doesn't look for the best, but I was pleasantly surprised. From the great man that took our tickets to the cop, the young lady at the concession stand, as well as the young lady working at the bar were all amazing. We didn't realize they have full reclining seats and the back walls were amazing to separate you from the other rows. This is by far one of my best movie experience lately so I will be going back. read more

Came in to catch BeetleJuice on a Wednesday afternoon and room 10 was not crowded at all. My recliner was working and the seat was not as worn compared to my past experience, so I'm fairly satisfied with the visit. Not to be confused with ANC which is like the UN for Africa. I actually wasn't shocked at all to see that my friend Yasseer had a similar experience to me here. Mine was over July 4 weekend in 2022. I just find the service here to be hostile for no reason. It's a run-down place compared to some AMCs in Houston, and the people working here have massive problems with attitude, seem primarily concerned with not being friendly. That in turn creates massive problems for people that are here to pay a lot of money - high prices, overpriced you might say - to watch a movie. There are some great AMC locations around and the staff here make sure that this one stays far away from ever being one of them. read more

P2 and I were interested in watching a movie, and we've been staying in the Katy area for a couple days. We usually frequent AMCs in the Austin area so we have a good baseline of what to expect from an AMC experience. We had went on a Sunday evening, and there were very few other patrons around. We didn't order any drinks or snacks since we had just eaten dinner. Walking into our theater, I saw that they were clean and comfortable. The lounger chairs at this location offered more customizations than other AMCs. The only two complaints I had were that I could hear some sounds from a neighboring theater -- I don't know if this was because the walls were thin or if the theater door wasn't closed during the movie. The exit for the theater also wasn't apparent enough, as you're required to go towards theater #2 before hanging a left to exit the movie theater back to the mall. We like that this location has 20 screens, which usually means there are indie films available to watch in addition to just the mainstream, blockbuster movies. We'll be back if we're ever in the area again! read more

I go here a lot because I'm so grateful that it provides CC (closed captions) for movies unlike a lot of other movie theaters. Not only that, the workers here are very helpful and kind to help me out once when I lost my car keys in theater 18 and they brought it to me quicker than I could feel anxious on the spot! I paid ahead of time for tickets and a combo drinks and large popcorn. I was told when scanning ticket to go to "Pick up" for my Combo. Attempt to make eye contact with employees behind counter. Totally ignored. Complained to ticket person, he used walkie to let them know I was waiting. After a total of 15 minutes waiting, while 2 of 3 employees played on a phone I stood in line. No apology, just excuses. The 3 stars were for Jasmine, the bartender who made me an excellent margarita! Oh, and the drink machines were empty so our two large drinks were water and cherry Coke. I did not have a good experience last time when I went to Katy Mills location. Me and my BFF are both AMC Stubs A-list members, and the workers make it a big deal to ID you at the stands, which becomes overwhelming and sometimes embarrassing. Here you have all these other customers that sneak in, or know the workers that sneak them in, while others just buy and walk right in, and here are your most loyal customers who have to go through this scrutiny of being ID'd. Last time, we arrived for a matinee. It was a beautiful day. We were both able to work around our work schedule and planned to watch a foreign movie playing specifically at this location. Unfortunately, my friend changed her purse and brought the one without her DL. She only had credit cards in her purse and the kid checking everybody in, refused to allow us in. He called a team leader, who was equally as rude and unaccommodating. She would not offer any assistance or provide a tangible solution. I am sure people forget ID all the time and there has to be some protocol. She wanted us to buy a ticket and present our case later for a possible refund. She was willing to sell a ticket on a credit card transaction but refused to honor the credit card as ID. Sadly enough, we had to leave and our plans were ruined. I don't know why I didn't call for a manager or a GM as these two employees were an insult, disgrace, and totally incompetent. The place itself looked dirty with trash on the floor, popcorn lying here n there and plastic cups dropped everywhere. Went with my family recently to this location should of stuck with Cinemark. Staff is very rude, we came up to the counter to order popcorn and drinks. We specifically told the girl what combo we wanted and even pointed it out. From the start she had an attitude towards us. I dismissed it because I know how stressful it is working at jobs that require you to interact with customers. After we paid, and she handed us our order I noticed that she gave us the wrong popcorn. I told her that this wasn't what I had ordered and she said that next time I should be more specific about what I want. Which is funny because how can I be more specific when I had already pointed what combo I wanted and told you word by word. She was huffing and puffing, at this point if your gonna act that way just find another job. Definitely not customer service. Besides that encounter, movie theater is very clean :) read more

Do not come here if you want a good theatre experience. Saw the Sound of Freedom today and it was by far the worst movie experience I have had. The most disruptive people with no care in world. There was a very big group of people who just kept walking in and out of the theater multiple time making so much noise, looked like they were movie hopping. Spoke to the manager after the movie about not monitoring their theaters at all, however she did not care one bit and said that the staff needs to be alerted of any complaints to know what's going on. Why should anyone have to leave a movie that they payed for to complain, just because staff isn't doing their job? Very disappointing, would not recommend this movie theatre at all!!! read more

My movie started at 8 pm. I paid $16 a ticket for the 8pm showtime to see it in the Dolby theater. When I arrived at 8:05 pm there was no one to scan my movie ticket, and no one to tell me which theater I needed to go to. I also was made aware I could not buy any snacks, drinks, or popcorn because that part closes at 8pm. The same time my movies started. The CHILD made me aware they close 15 minutes after the last movie showing. I told him my movie started at 8 pm so that would mean they shouldn't be closing until 8:15. Child then responded with "well we are closed. Do you want me to get my manager?" Horrible establishment, and horrible employees. I have never been denied buying popcorn at a movie theater so interesting to say the least. read more

This is now our go to movie theater. It's attached to the mall so it's a great option if you want to see a movie and do a little shopping. There is also the food court if you want a quick bite to eat before the movies. We became part of the stubs A List which has great rewards. You can see up to 3 movies a week for just $20 a month. If you see two movies a month, it already pays for itself! This location has a bar too which is always a plus. If I go somewhere and I have the option to get a cocktail, the answer will almost always be yes, plus they have angry orchard on draft which is my go to cider. The bathrooms here are pretty clean too, I hate when I go to a public restroom and it's gross. The restrooms were pretty clean. The theater has comfortable seats that recline, I'm a little short so if you recline all the way part of the screen is blocked but that's more of a me thing. read more

We walked in at around 9:45, waited 30 minutes, and once again, the projected was broken. At 10:30 after receiving no compensation other than a refund, we left. Never again. Never again. read more

I will never go back. First, they do NOT accept cash.... At all... don't try.... They claim the coin shortage makes them unable to accept actual legal tender and you must use plastic... they will, however, encourage you to put your cash on a gift card so they can use it in that form. But I wouldn't have yelped if it stopped there.... Stale popcorn, stale candy and the beverage fountains were out of almost any selection... This was my first theatre experience post COVID and I'm seriously in shock of how things are run today... I'll stick with either streaming from home or find a better movie theatre company to try and regain pre COVID normalcy.... Complete disgrace read more

There are lots of things I enjoy about AMC.... the A-List monthly membership which allows me to see 3 movies a week, the Stubs rewards membership and perks, the app, and the strength in the brand. They have super easy ordering through the app. And when you arrive at the theater you don't have to wait in line for a human to help, you just go to the kiosk and print out your own ticket. It's great! Through the app you can also pick exactly the seat you want and see where seats are taken or open to help you determine where you want to sit. Love that feature too! I have had an issue before while watching a movie and the manager gave my family free tickets to return another day. I've also emailed their customer service before and gotten fast and excellent service to respond to my question. Their food options are plentiful, although overpriced (just like every other movie theater honestly.) Their seats are high back comfy electronic recliner chairs. Love these chairs. Seems all theaters have moved to these now. Wise move. Also compared to other theaters, AMC seems to have the best prices, at least last time I checked. AMC seems to have their act together in these regards. The few times I have had issues is when other customers are being loud or running around during the movie. Not the fault of AMC. But AMC has handled those situations quite well in my opinion. read more

Prices are still 9 dollars for a small bag of popcorn but it's Bidenflation so what else is new? Came on a Sunday afternoon to see Smile. Not jam packed, quiet, great surround system as well as picture. What irritates me the most is that I'm some member where I pay 15.00 a year to cut the line, get special discounts, wifi, free drinks and upgrades etc. That's great and all but I'm an adult and I like adult beverages for my movies. I asked the popcorn lady if I could buy a beer as it was 130 PM and whoever was supposed to work the bar was supposed to be there at 1:00 PM. She said yes head over. The manager tells 2 different people to tell me the bar is closed. Why even have a bar if you're not going to open it on a weekend especially. I was pleasantly surprised today during our visit to the movies to see Frozen 2! I purchased 4 matinee tickets via atom, first AMC matinee price is much better than the other theaters! The other theaters matinee is regular full price in my opinion. We did not have to wait in line as we walked up to the ticket checker person and we went right in! The theatre was nice! Leather reclining seats- clean floors and it was not a noisy hot mess! We did not indulge in any treats so I cannot review there and the bathrooms could use some TLC post movie but other than that everything was great!! We will definitely be back! read more

I have always loved AMC katy mills 20. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 this time is because of my experience this last visit. First of all, I am not a complainer. I brought my two kids to see The Lion King. We sat on row H In seats 17,18 & 19. They seats were comfortable. I love the lounge features on the chairs. My problem started with the people who sat behind us. The theater is now set up for ultimate privacy and comfort of the movie guests but yet and still we were constantly being disturbed by the movie goers above us. They had a couple of kids that kept hanging over the wall where the back of our chairs were leaning against. The smaller child kept hanging over coughing loudly over my son's head. The older little girl just kept making noise over me and my daughters head and peering down at us. It was such an annoying distraction. I don't know why the kids parents did not have the common sense and decency to make their kids sit down and watch the movie instead of allowing them to hang over the wall when they know other people are watching the movie below. At one point, I literally had to stand up, turn around and ask the parent to get her kids off the ledge. They are preventing us from enjoying and watching the movie. I was so angry. I was tempted to get up and find a movie staff member but I didn't want to miss any of the movie walking out, having to find a movie staff person and then explain my issue. I just sat through it. The parents made the kids sit down but almost towards the end of the movie, the kids were allowed to get up again. I don't know if they allowed them to bother us on purpose because I got up and said something to them but we ended up leaving before the movie ended because I was sick of them. I decided not to complain. I really wish theaters at staff that would pop their head in during movies to check on patrons to make sure everything is okay. If someone had of done so, they would have saw what me and my kids were going through and I might not have had to say anything. This is a great movie theater and I love the discount matinee pricing but I will probably consider going to other similar theaters like Studio Movie grill because they do have staff nearby during the movie where I could easily flag them down if there is a problem without leaving my seat. read more

I was insulted when I was told to take my makeup off because they considered it a mask when it was literally two pieces of tissue paper it took me 3 hours to make 6 because I helped my little sister make hers hoping we would have an amazing movie experience because it was for the FNAF MOVIE!!!!!!!! The lady in the ticket booth and the man at the concession stand were wonderful, they provided excellent customer service. I am recovering from surgery and on a walker and since I have to use both hands for the walker, I can't carry anything and the basket on the walker is not safe for carrying drinks as they will spill. He brought the coke I purchased to me in the theatre, to my seat. He delivered the service that caused me to give the theatre 5 stars. read more

The theater's drink machine is out of several flavors of syrup. The restrooms are unclean and unkept. People in the theaters appear like slobs. The popcorn and other snacks are present throughout the theater. I can find better theaters near every corner of Houston. The reclining seat is not clean. read more
