There's a couple theaters in the area... this one is attached to a mall. I have never been to any other theaters, but know that this theater was not at all clean and it had a load amount of video games. The attendant was very knowledgeable of the movies and times playing. I've definitely experienced better, for example, the Arclight in Sherman Oaks, CA has a hearty full bar inside. Yup, that's what little Danvers needs... a Dave&Busters next to them. read more

Overall this theater is clean. They show all the big box office movies and they have a huge selection of food items. Here is my only great qualm with AMC. Why do you have a $3 "convenience fee" for buying tickets online? You are charging me because you are making the tickets convenient for me, what? Okay..I understand you might have technician working out online issues for AMC, but seriously you need $3 from every online ticket purchase to pay for those fixups? I honestly just think its a tactic to get people to come to the theater, stand in line, and force you to stare at their advertisements versus just buying tickets and walking straight into the movie theater. Screw that. I'll come here if I have to, but never again am I buying tickets online from AMC until the remove the convenience fee/ make it more reasonable. P.S. The movie doesn't start exactly at the listed start time. Usually they'll show previews for 15-20 min after the listed start time. pretty standard kinda dirty movie theater. i would not advise getting the food there except the popcorn bc it is so overpriced.

This used to be a great theater. It was great for families and couples. Unfortunately, ever since the name changed from Loews to AMC, I have noticed things changing for the worse. First, there are no longer two officers on duty on the weekends, if there are any at all. Second, The movies just plain look bad. Black lines, blurry, weird sound problems. This has gotten worse in only the last year. Third, it seems that the staff is serving time instead of popcorn. I have never seen a more sullen group of people in my life. It's like someone sucked the joy out of the building. Fourth, whoever is in charge has lost control. This is evident from all of the above mentioned problems, but it can also be seen when the lobby is packed with unruly teenagers, the theaters have loud obnoxious groups in them, and the staff couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. Most of my friends feel uncomfortable going to this theater. I say, don't go! You should feel safe where ever you are. I miss Loews. read more

As far as movie theaters are concerned, this one really isn't that bad. I've seen over a dozen different movies here and never really had any problem with the movie quality itself. You often have to be weary about what time you see a movie here, though. If you go too close to 9 on a weekend, you may just run into the high school crowd. Their parents just dropping them off, causing a stampede to the concession stand so they can stock up on twizzlers and soda. Another problem occurs if you see an even later movie. Which I often prefer to do. The main bathroom in the lobby, well at least the womens restroom, has a tendency to smell like urine. Not just a little bit, but more like that high school crowd forgot how to use a toilet and proceeded to just urinate all over the floors. I think the toilets have a tendency to overflow, which would account for the urine soaked floors and repugnant smell. The staff often has no real interest in you in the later hours, and barely can keep it together during the earlier hours to even meet the standard level of customer service. But, can you really blame them? I mean, crappy pay and having to deal with a lot of idiots. All in all, I prefer this theater to the one in Revere. But that's like comparing apples and rocks. read more

It's fucking comical that Hollywood Hits has a (significantly) higher score than this AMC. Yes, the food is outrageous, but so is every other theater is the Boston area. If you are like me, and go to theaters to see films and could care less about concessions, this AMC is the best in the area. The seats are comfy, the films are almost always in good shape and EVERY THEATRE IS STADIUM SEATING. Come for the movies,. keep on coming for the movies. I am writing this review for 2 reasons: 1) I went and saw Your Highness for the second time in one week; and, 2) I'm procrastinating on my Crim Pro homeworks. The Goods: Ticket Kiosks - never wait in line with everyone else for moves-at-a-snails-pace cashier! And, there's not just one or two, there are FOUR! Matinee Tickets - every place else on the planet (in Boston at least) won't charge less than $9/ticket for matinees these days, but this place is $6/ticket for all shows before 2pm. Can't beat that, people! (unless you go to the Regal in Hooksett, NH, but I digress) Bathrooms - always sparkly clean, with lots of stalls, and never any line Classic Movie Posters - they line the walls of the theater hallways and it's just rad, ok? Sounds great right? Well let's get into The Not-So-Awesomes, which make this review 3-stars instead of 4: Poor Quality Speakers - unless you're seeing the movie in one of their bigger theaters, the speakers are not only going to be right next to you no matter where you sit (which you would think would be awesome), but because they're so poor quality you're wishing you'd manned up and just paid $11.50 somewhere else or waited for the movie to come out on DVD like Laura H. points out in her review The Smaller Theaters - they're cramped, and though they're obviously made to house those movie-goers of the less popular films, they could have situated things in a wee bit more spacious manner Ticket Access - you have to enter from inside the mall in order to get your tickets (unless of course you went and bought them online, then the ticket-rippers will just deal with them accordingly when you go to enter the theater) read more

Same prices as the nice theaters without all of that pesky cleanliness or comfort. You could feed a small country with all the food left over on the seats and floors. Seats haven't been updated since the place opened so no comfy recliners. You can lean back about an inch before the back of the seat hits the floor behind you. Less legroom than Delta extra economy. Was in Danvers after an appointment and wanted to see Captain America again. I usually go to Showcase in Woburn, but went here out of sheer convenience ... What a MISTAKE! This place is a complete toilet! Does management even have an ounce of pride? The floors are dirty & sticky, the decor is faded, the smell throughout this place is a turn off in itself. Does the staff have any social skills what so ever? They can't even be bothered to respond back when I extended a hello .. How's your day going? The theatre was filthy & littered with trash .. Eccck! This place could be so much better but it's neglected due to the fault of poor management I suspect. I went to a 3:00PM showing and there was popcorn on the floor, paper, trash on the carpets, food on the floor by the concession area, the bathrooms were gross. I don't think it was cleaned in days. You know how in a zombie film an abandoned place looks like after a zombie invasion? That is what it reminds me of except there are kids and teenagers. The film wasn't even placed correctly onto the screen, the speakers need to be updated. I don't even think some of the theaters even have Dolby certification (this was a common practice even in the 80's). The seats need to be cleaned. This is the type of theater that makes people want to stay home and watch a movie when it comes out on DVD. I know it's not because it's a multi-plex theater. Excited to go to a movie with my husband, but should have gone to a different theater. We were able to bypass the line for tickets since we bought them on line, but did want the traditional movie popcorn and 2 drinks. The line at the concessions was very long we waited over 15 minutes! There were only had 2 employees working on the counter on a very busy Saturday night (Opening weekend of Toy Story 4). We thought for sure we would miss the beginning of our movie even factoring time for previews. This negatively impacted our experience, but we finally made it to our movie with not a second to spare. Once seated we immediately noticed that neither one of us could see the bottom of the screen due to a wall in front of us. Next time we will definitely go to a different theater! read more

I want to like this place more. Having a movie theater inside a mall is so...... late-80s early-90s. This place is always packed with idiot kids from the mall. Usually the floors are littered with crushed popcorn. We went here last weekend to see a movie, and at first there was no sound. I had to be the old guy complaining. The large amount of talking teenagers is unfortunately one of the side effects of having a 20-plex attached to a decent sized mall. I always attempt to visit this theater on off hours or school days to avoid this. It really is the best Non-IMAX in the area, and they have a few digital projection theaters. They show almost all of the current digital 3D films, have quality equipment and keep the long lines moving on premiere nights. However, in the past 2 years it seems more and more problems occur during screenings. Usually the projector is out of focus, out of frame, or the sound is distorted (too loud, clicking, etc). I'd say about 1 in 3 movies I end up leaving the theater to flag down a red-shirted employee to adjust something that should have been caught by a human running the show. read more

Geez, what's with all the haters? Maybe you can tell me where you've found a better theater? I've found the screens to be in good shape, projection sharp and the sound systems to be clear, well defined and adequately loud, with bleed through from the other theaters minimized. I appreciate the stadium seating, have found that most of the seats are in good condition, and the air to be somewhat fresher, more conditioned and less stale than most of the other area theaters. The food and drinks at the concessions suck no worse than any other theater, and the prices are no more ridiculous. Teenagers are a pain in the ass. People text and talk during the show. Everywhere! Not just here. Yeah, movies are overpriced. Everywhere. Do yourself a favor and pick up the Costco AMC passes and you'll never pay more than $8.00 to see a movie unless its 3-D. read more

Living in Reading this is a pretty short drive for a quality movie experience. It is an average theatre, nothing truly special, but when compared to the Showcase cinemas in Woburn, this is a modern masterpiece. I am not a fan of the IMAX experience, so I avoid the Jordan's Imax in Reading simply due to personal preference. I will make the drive to the Liberty Tree Mall in the future for my moviegoing needs. This is the second time I've been to this theater and it was closed even though show times were listed for it on line. A sign saying it is closed due to "unforeseen circumstances" hanging in the door this time. Last time the sign said it was due to a "power failure". I was here last weekend to see Joy with my mom. It was also... Star Wars weekend. Our theater was in the same hall as SW, so we had no idea whether we had to stand in line or not--then we saw the signs that were waist high (no one could read them...) saying it was the line for SW. Gah! We got our tickets on Fandango in advance which worked nicely. We skipped the (LONG) lines for the snacks and just found our seats and waited for the movie to start. This happens to be the largest theatre near me... Located inside the depressing Liberty Tree Mall. Went to see Maleficent in 3D last night and for four of us (1 child, 1 senior and 2 adults) it was near highway robbery at $69.25... And that was only for the tickets. The theater was strangely empty for a Saturday night 9:30 movie and we had no trouble finding good seats. The staff were very nice and helpful and you got a sense they actually like their jobs or were at least decent actors. The movie itself was fantastic and I recommend it along with seeing it in 3D. The theater itself appeared clean but I can't vouch for the bathrooms as I never used them. If I could have made an earlier movie at Cinema Salem I would have because it's walking distance and a heck of a lot cheaper but no stadium seating. read more

Just watched Avengers Infinity wars here. We got to the theater in the middle of the previews so it was already dark but I did see popcorn stuck in the chair seats and dried drink spills on the armchair. This place has a LOT of potential and the lobby looks up to date and renovated, but the entrance to the theater is odd (on the backside of the mall and the only way in is by walking through the mall) and there's a lot of garbage on the floors (in the bathrooms too) and the trash cans were overflowing. Literally every one that I saw. I give 3 stars for the reclining chairs (although definitely not up to par with the nicer amc's), reserved seating and the modern amenities (bar, coca cola freestyle, sitting areas) Otherwise it does need a bit of attention as far as cleaning and service are concerned. Wouldn't necessarily not recommend, but if someone was willing to drive a bit further, I would probably tell them to choose a different AMC. A little more bang for your buck elsewhere, especially at $12 a ticket. read more

I am not a big Yelp reviewer but there doesn't seem to be a way to contact AMC directly. So maybe this will help someone or maybe AMC management at LT Mall in Danvers will review these periodically. First, let me say I generally love the overall experience at this theater. Kids and I have gone several times over the years. Reclining seats, sound in the theater and the reservation system through Fandango is almost as easy as ordering something off of Amazon. The downside came today and my impression is the experience is getting worse. After Jumanji today I have to say I am not sure I will go back there which stinks because it's pretty close to where I live. Issues: - The food ordering is the DUMBEST thing I have seen in a while. There are only kiosks, no humans. Occasionally some employee floating by would offer somewhat helpful utterances. It took more time to order food. People genuinely struggled with the machines. I am not sure what we are aiming at as a society when we have machines eliminate $10-$12 per hour entry level jobs for high schoolers and others looking to enter the workforce, but even if we all agree that is a good thing, this application was horribly bungled. Not one person in line had a good experience and I was in line just under 20 minutes. The upshot is that by the time you get to the kiosk, you simply order the easiest thing you can find so you don't hold anyone else up any further. Because of this I spent about $15 less than we usually do. - The food/drink area was a mess. The popcorn stand was a literal mess. I mean popcorn just all over it, crumpled napkins and butter smears covering any of the top that was left exposed. Pretty ugly. There was also no salt so we had to go searching on the other side of the room. It's not that big a deal but it seems like a solvable problem, and by this point I was getting a little annoyed. - There were no straws on the drink stands, so it was another search for finding straws. There were also almost no drink caps. Pretty poor. - The theater itself was a mess. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept from the prior showing. The chairs had visible remnants of the prior audiences popcorn and popcorn butter still sitting smeared on the armrests. Pitiful. The upshot is I found some wipes by chance outside the theater, grabbed a handful and cleaned the seats. - Even though we had mobile tickets, we evidently also needed to show the ticket taker our paper tickets as well. There did not appear to be any real explanation from the ticket taker for this; he grumbled something about AMC policy. Fortunately I grabbed the printed tickets at the food ordering kiosk. I am not sure why I did and I was a little confused with the fact that - after telling the Kiosk "No" I don't need my tickets printed - it printed them anyway. So I was glad I grabbed them. On the good side, the popcorn is still the best this side of Route 128. AMC, do not change that. Kids also reported the bathrooms were in very good shape although I didn't go in myself. But they tend to be pretty truthful about these things. Perhaps with all the labor savings from not having human beings run your concessions you could consider stepping up the cleaning efforts. Clean concession stands stocked with stuff that you need, you know that sort of stuff. Maybe actually vacuum the theater between shows. Wipe off seats (you've already made the investment in wipes!). You could even go one step further than have wipes integrated with the seats or at least on stands at the end of each row? And lose the paper ticket checking thing. That is super annoying when you are trying to get to your seats after spending a lot more time than anticipated getting food and drink. read more

I'm not much of a movie goer, so I may not necessarily know what makes a great theater. But I was pleased with my experience. Short lines. Helpful staff. When buying tickets the cashier happily explained that the movie technically began in 3 minutes , yet there would be 15 minutes of previews so there was no need to rush. Restrooms were clean. The theater itself seemed clean. Seats had a bit of recline. My only gripe was the volume. But I am sensitive to noise. read more

Staff SPITTING INTENTIONALLY on the floor! STAY OUT--read other reviews about hygiene..this just underlines the bad public health issues here. Matter of fact I will be calling the public health department for Danvers!!! Took the family to a matinee. Came out and one of the staff came out of the men's room and SPIT a big wad of phlegm, directly onto the lobby rug. This was witnessed by my wife and son--saw spit flying out of his mouth, intentional, onto the rug--like one is walking on the street (it's no better there). With a very menacing look at the three of us he proceeded to move to a cinema, we heard him clear his throat three more times and spit three more times. None of this is made up. We reported it to the ticket taker and the courtesy desk. It would likely only take a review of lobby cams for the cinema 1-12 lobby cams, near the rear men's room to view the culprit. Movie was fine. Decorum fine but I won't order food or touch any surfaces at this place. Never mind, I won't return. When an employee has this level of regard (a cleaning employee carrying a broom and dustpan) for the basics of the job, on site, day time, in front of the public, you can bet your teeth this is not the first time. I like how they have a station where you butter and salt your own popcorn so I can get it just right. Their bathroom is huge so I never have to wait after I suck down that delicious fountain soda. This place is close to where I live and its located in the mall so I have the option of torturing myself by looking at all the puppies at the pet storeI want to save, browsing all the electronics in Best Buy I fantasize about owning when I get rich, and maybe getting a new outfit at Marshalls, being the awesome bargain hunter I am. Never been here before and won't bbe back. Got to skip the tticket line as we bought them over the Fandango app and it has reserved seating. Only positIves. So we skipped the ticket line. Went to the very long and slow concessions line. No human at the end of the line, just a touch screen. A lot of people having trouble figurIng it out. Never could find the pizza on it screen though it was in the overhead menu. Lost sale for them. Then you take the several little pieces of paper it spits out and while wandering around looking for the line to stand in to trade the papers for food I wonder how many trees a day they were killing. Finally found the line. Nice kid bringing out endless ssupplies of popcorn and food from inside a small walled off area. No smell of food or popcorn. After that line, there is the line to get our own sodas. Then the line to get butter and napkins. Then the line to get thru the ticket guy and into the theater. Finally get to sit down. Recliners are comfortable. The movie is about to start which means it took around 30 minutes from front door to seats. We would have been late had we had to stand in linee for tickets. We try the food. The popcorn is stale and chewy. If it was made any time that day I'll eat my hat. The hot dogs we had to settle for when we couldn't find the pizza on the order tablet had stone cold buns and the hot dogs look wrinkled. The only time i have ever had a wrinkled hot dog is when I have nuked one for too long. So much for the sign saying to be patient as fresh food takes a few minutes. During the quiet moments of the movie I could hear the movie in the next theater over. So I just forked out nearly $11 for a ticket to get the privilege of standing in multiple lines for 30 minutes, do it yourself food service, and reheated food. Going out to the movies is a treat for us due to the expense. This was the very best argument I could make for Netflix. Will never be back. read more

My wife and I came here to watch Star Trek Into Darkness. We splurged and watched in IMAX 3D. I love that screen and sound. Doesn't have the rumble seat like at Jordan's but well worth the extra cost in my opinion. 5 Stars for this experience. Eh. It's a nice building, and nice actual theatres, but that's it. The prices are sky high and it's very hard to find any deals for this place. You'd think they'd try to compete with Reveres cheap tuesday prices but nope. If you do go here, stop at either the newstand or 5 Below to get your snacks before the movie and stuff your ladies purse. Also don't expect perfection, and don't expect them to make up for it. I saw Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D here a couple years back and the first 10 minutes the film was all dark and screwy. I knew the movie so I though maybe that was part of the 3D changes. It wasn't, it eventually got fixed, and I imagined that after the flick the ushers or managers would be prepared and waiting at the exits with passes to make up for the crap film. No Dice. There was a long line forming at the service desk for people to give a complaint rant in exchange for passes, but I was in a hurry to go somewhere else so I guess I just get screwed on that one. read more

Went to the theatre today to see frozen2. I don't know if they didn't expect as big as a turn out as they had, or if it is a new system but the food order process was AWFUL. You order your food items at a kiosk, then you walk over to the pickup area. There was no system of any kind. People were taking other people's items, team members were overwhelmed and grouchy. It was awful; I waited 30 minutes to pick up my popcorn and 3 cups. If this is how this location is going to be set up I will take my business else where. It's just like any other Loews movie theater but we like going here because of the prices (much cheaper than in Boston) and parking is readily available It was clean, esp the bathrooms, which is always a plus. I like the centrally located snack bar. Maybe it was just us but the first time we went we drove all around the mall trying to find the movie theater entrance but couldn't find it do we just parked and walk into the mall and then to the movie theater. No big. Since then I just park wherever so I can use it to my advantage to go a bit of shopping in the mall after the movie :-) read more

I am an avid theatre goer and have been for some time now. I have been a AMC Stubs member for well over a year and I frequently get enjoyment out of going to see a movie when it comes out. However today's visit to my local theatre has disappointed me to the point where I feel like I may very well cancel my Stubs membership and start patronizing another theatre because of the truly vile and disgusting shape that the AMC Danvers Theatre has degraded into. I went to see the 1:30PM showing of Get Out today at the AMC Danvers and when I finished purchasing my ticket, I had to walk past a hallway that smelled like urine and trash bins which were overflowing to the point where the refuse was climbing up the wall behind the bin and spilling over on to the floor. Then when we got into the actual theatre, I had to search for well over ten minutes to find a seat that did not have gum, food, or a suspicious looking stain on it. To say that I am disappointed would be a severe understatement. In short, spend the extra time it takes to get to the AMC in Burlington or prepare for disappointment. read more

Lesson #1: Don't attempt to find parking near the Marshall's side of the Liberty Tree Mall on a Friday evening in the summertime. I encountered rude teens who didn't know one side of the road from the other during my endless search for a parking spot, and had a grand old time circling around slow shoppers who thought it was a good idea to bring their children to the mall while making big purchases. Lesson #2: Buy your tickets early. We avoided waiting in long lines for the first Friday showing of "Ted" since we pre-purchased our tickets. Although the ticket kiosks were a nice convenience touch, the lines at both those and the ticket windows were horrendous. Lesson #3: Bring your own popcorn and drinks. Again, long lines and mediocre, overpriced snack food for a 1.5 hour-long movie just doesn't make sense. At least the floors are less sticky at this AMC than at others I've been to. The seats were no less clean and we waited until just before the movie started for the overhead lighting to be dimmed. Didn't they used to dim the lights during the previews? it's like any other Loews i've been to. there wasn't anything particularly bad to make me unhappy. the workers were all friendly and helpful. if i had to pick something it would be that the seats we took in theater 11 were slightly older and flimsier but that's just nitpicking. at the 11am showing, it was $6 for an adult for the regular theater, $10 for IMAX, and $12 for IMAX 3D. just buy your ticket at the electronic kiosk at the front. don't pay the convenience fee online. read more
