First time I came here it was bad too, overly salted popcorn and the bathrooms are so disgusting so I thought to give it another try. Today bathrooms were still gross, dirty and smells so bad, popcorn was ok but cold and kinda old. The theater was so small and dirty as well. We loved that we could see a movie with subtitles right on the screen - that was pretty cool. The downsides - it's dirty - no other way to say it. It needs a good cleaning. The carpets are just gross and everything looks greasy. The theater itself was okay, but needed a good wipe-down as well. The bathrooms? yuck - again, clean them! We went on a Sunday so were able to get parking on the street for free and it was very close. The sound and picture were fine and it's nice that they have trays attached to the seats. It really is a great value, and a perfect size. It came with popcorn, pop (from the fancy mixing machine) and fruit snacks. Such a confusing experience. Came in to see the matinee show at 3pm on a Wednesday. As expected, the theater was dead and we ended up being the only ones in the theater to see Mario. That being said, I don't understand why it took 10 minutes for the employees to scan our tickets in when there was literally no one else there. No one seemed to know what they were doing as they had us walk back and forth from concessions multiple times attempting to scan out tickets. They were not even communicating with us (the only customers on sight) and didn't say any actual words. They seemed to be very disorganized for an otherwise empty theater. After about a couple years hiatus, (go figure), we just recently returned to some moviegoing. Market Arcade has all of the features we like, with reserved seating in reclining chairs and bargain matinees. And I've been an AMC Stubbs member for years, so why not start racking up some rewards points again. Parking here is like anything else downtown--it's a slog. We don't mind the $3 parking lot behind the theater. Three bucks is a good deal downtown. The theater has no rear entrance, so you have to walk around the block to the front doors. If you don't mind the $3 lot fee and the couple minutes of walking, it's okay. Buying tickets online for Market Arcade is easy on the AMC website. When you arrive at the front doors, to the left are kiosks where you can either pick up or purchase your tickets. Tickets are for reserved seating, so if you are heading down last-minute and it is a popular new movie, you may want to check online quick first for availability. The concession has all of the typical movie snacks of candy, popcorn, and soda, plus some additional food options like nachos, pizzas and burgers. There is also a full-service bar in this AMC. We haven't tried food or alcoholic drinks yet, but the popcorn, soda, and candy is what you'd expect, pricey but movie-glutton-goodness. I'm docking a star because we recently saw a movie and one of our recliner chairs was not operational. The movie theater was mostly empty, and when my husband and I tried to move a few seats, there were several more chairs that were not operational in the row. Two hours of peace in that comfy reclining chair is as, if not more important to me than the actual movie. Hopefully they fix the broken seats in the J-row of Theater One soon. I have been planning to come to see a movie tonight at 945pm for a scheduled 10pm time for "Heart Eyes" , and after I got out of work with my 3 teenage children, I paid to parked and then walked around to the entrance , and all the doors were locked except one where the security guard said they decided to not show the movie. The movie was available to purchase online , but was turned away when showed up. Paid for parking and didn't go to another theatre decided to come to AMC for the first time in years. I will never do that again. I'm going to Regal from now on. It wasn't until we returned home that it started to show " sold out" which wasn't the case for the show since we were explicitly told they just wanted to close early by the security guard!! Just went there today to see the deadpool woverine movie on release day and i was looking forward to the popcorn bucket and cups and as soon as we got there they said buckets were sold out wich allways seems like theyre excuse specially when we were one of the first ones there because we have the amc stubs A list. We ended up buying a wolverine cup that was supposed to come with a figurine on it but somehow they sold out of the figurines but had enough cups, doesnt make any sense, how do you have cups but not enought of the figurines to go with them? I went this past Sunday during the rainstorm in Buffalo so it wasn't too busy. Compared to other reviewers' experiences, mine was very streamlined and pleasant. I ordered my tickets on the Atom app, scanned my confirmation at the kiosk for AMC tickets, and was cleared by the usher at the entrance. I didn't visit the concessions but they had all your typical snacks at typical movie theater prices. Thoroughly enjoyed the heated recliners (I may or may not have fallen asleep through half my movie...). I saw a family bring in blankets too so I may just take a note from them and do that next time. We watched Aquaman tonight at the AMC Market Arcade 8 downtown Buffalo, NY. Upon our arrival, there was popcorn and paper straw wrappers all over the floor. Went to our seats and there was popcorn in between the seats. On our way out we saw a mouse eating popcorn. How is this acceptable?! All the workers were basically standing around talking and not doing nothing when we got there. I think this location needs a serious revamp of how it's managed. It shouldn't be dirty and workers shouldn't all be standing around socializing when the place was filthy. I'm glad we didn't get popcorn cause seeing the mouse makes me wonder if there's an infestation. read more

I have always loved going downtown in the theater district and catching a movie. The AMC market arcade is clean and well-maintained. Most notably the fact that you can service your own drinks and prepare your own popcorn with butter flavoring gives you a unique opportunity to create the experience that you want. Their seats are comfortable clean and have a Chair side table which makes the experience even better each table has a cupholder so you can enjoy your movie without worrying about dropping finding sharing your popcorn etc. I went to the 12 PM matinee on Sunday for the movie Cabrini, which was amazing it seemed as though they were just opening up however, so the service was a bit slow. Bathrooms are clean. My only drawback is the fact that you cannot enter the theater from the back like you used to so you have to park and walk around through the theater district unless you find a spot on Main Street, which is virtually impossible, I will continue to patronize the AMC market arcade because I think it's important to keep our city vibrant and alive with theatrical culture supporting the arts etc. I can't wait to come back read more

AMC Market Arcade is, in my opinion, the crown jewel of movie theaters. My boyfriend and I currently live very close by, so we're able to walk over whenever we're in the mood to go to the movies. Like all movie theaters, AMC isn't cheap, but this one comes with amenities that make the steep ticket and snack prices well worth it. They offer discounted pricing on matinee tickets which is nice! They don't have anything out-of-the-ordinary in the food department, but they DO have a bar, so if you're into sipping on a beer as you watch your movie, you can do that here. My favorite part of this movie theater is the seats. Of course, they recline like most other theaters. But did you know they're heated here?! Absolutely mind-boggling. I don't think I could ever experience a movie another way. Each set also has a lap tray too, which makes dining and watching at the same time a breeze. Great Theater that we're lucky to have in downtown Buffalo. Reclining, heated seats, not a bad food selection either. Chicken & waffle sandwich served with honey mustard and an add on of curly fries was about $12 which I thought was fairly reasonable for movie-Theater prices, although the pop corn and drinks are what you'd expect ($$$$). Reserved seating and super comfy seats make this a destination. No set parking lot, but it's downtown Buffalo so I don't expect it. Went here to watch a movie while we were in the downtown area, and were surprised at how nice it was! Located in the Theater District, this AMC is definitely on the smaller size, but it very well maintained and the staff was nice. They only have one concession stand, but price-wise, it's pretty much the same as any movie theater - a bit overpriced. The screens were okay but I really liked the seats: they are reclining seats with SEAT HEATERS (great for winters!). In fact, you can choose to have the seat on HIGH heat or LOW heat too! Think this would be a nice theater to come watch movies once the weather gets colder too. :) The restrooms were pretty clean, but some stalls were missing toilet paper. :/ Still not too bad. Clean, comfortable seats, sell expensive alcohol if you really need that, but ultimately I'm not a fan. I was never really a huge fan of AMC simply because they would make you butter your own popcorn. And as a person that prefers layered butter, that was nearly impossible to accomplish. Especially when they wouldn't offer a separate popcorn bag or bucket to separate your popcorn allowing what was usually a normal request. Luckily, due to covid, that's not a thing anymore. Instead they have containers of butter they provide. Just when I thought I was finally going to enjoy my first movie experience since covid, that quickly changed while trying to buy a $10 bucket of popcorn. Let me start from the beginning. So my friends and I were going to see a movie. 2 of us got there earlier than the friend with the tickets. While waiting for her we stood in the lobby, had a whole conversation with the ticket guy and was enjoying life. Once our full party was there we passed the ticket guy along with 2 other workers, including security, to go find our seats. After putting our coats down, 2 of us went to the concession stand. After ordering my popcorn, I believe his name was Donald goes do you have another mask because those aren't allowed in here. Excuse me? He continues with we don't allow those types of masks here. Mind you there are multiple signs saying a mask must be worn, but there are no signs stating only specific masks can be worn. Also, my mask (pictured below) had ear hoops so it was secure, covered my nose completely along with my mouth. But apparently my mask wasn't proper and he wouldn't allow me to purchase my $10 popcorn, or go back into the movie theater unless I also purchased a reusable mask for $1. Don't get me wrong, I completely respect the mask policies, understand it's only $1, but don't appreciate when rules are being made up on the fly about what is allowed and not allowed to get more money out of people or whatever reason was in his head. Especially since, while standing and waiting for my friend, nobody said anything was wrong with my attire previously, and I clearly saw other people leaving the theater with the same style mask except theirs didn't have ear hoops. Beware of the mask police that like to make up rules as they go. And if they only want specific masks being worn, I suggest they create a color sign with pictures explaining what and what isn't allowed, and apply those same rules to everyone. read more

It is such a perfect location nestled among Shea's and Irish Classical Theater, and restaurants and shops galore. I still can't get over it. The theater itself is beautiful, brand new and gleaming. It doesn't have a ton of theaters and they don't give a lot of time between showings, which means if you get there too early you'll be waiting for the theater before you to empty out and be cleaned before you can sit. The seats recline, of course, but also have bonus seat warmers (optional) built in, and have trays attached! Came here for the first time since AMC Maple Ridge did not have the number of seats for Pokémon Detective on a Friday. There is no private, free parking lot, but there is street parking for $2 an hour. I think they raised the price because there are stickers on the meter that say $1 an hour, while there is a posted sign saying it's $2 an hour. However, there is free parking after 5 pm. The free parking is usually full after 6 pm, which was when the movie ended. There was a lot of staff compared to the number of guests. They were all very kind and helpful throughout our visit from purchasing tickets to purchasing popcorn. They helped us exchange a bill for quarters for parking after we purchased tickets. The movie theater itself is very clean, has little desks, reclining and heated seats. Tl;dr - nice, clean AMC, $2 an hour for parking before 5 pm, free after 5 pm read more

So glad there's a movie theater downtown again! It's a bit hard to judge a theater that's only a week old, since it's too early to tell how well-maintained and clean it is. But the lobby was spacious, and the bathroom was clean. We didn't try any concessions since we had just eaten lunch before arriving, but they had the requisite popcorn, candy, and soda, as well as slushes, soft pretzels, nachos and chicken tenders. The seats are narrower than some of the other revamped theaters I've gone to, but were still comfortable and reclined, with the option of heating your seat. There's also plenty of space in between the rows. The theater doesn't seem to leave a whole lot of time in between shows in the same auditorium. We arrived about half an hour before our show started, and were told that the previous showing wouldn't be over for another fifteen minutes. We just hung out in the lobby and waited until an employee gave us the OK, but then near the end of our screening, people who had bought tickets to the show after ours just walked into the theater and sat down. If the theater is going to continue leaving only 15 minutes or so between showings, the staff should be consistent about making sure people aren't walking into the show before theirs. It can be disruptive having people walk in near the end of your movie and seat themselves. Still, AMC Market Arcade is a welcome addition to downtown, and I'm happy to make it my go-to theater for mainstream films. read more

So happy that we've got a theater downtown! This will definitely be our new moviegoing location. Lobby is spacious, with a little extra flair due to the original hardwood floors being maintained. Concessions area has many additional options on top of your standard movie fare - this technically categorizes the location as a restaurant in addition to being a theater. This categorization as a restaurant has allowed the theater to apply for a liquor license, and alcoholic beverages will be available to enjoy in the near future! The serve yourself Coke and slushie machines contribute to the upscale vibe. The 8 screens themselves are on par with the more upscale locations that many people prefer, with recliner seats that can be reserved online prior to your arrival - no worrying about getting here early to get a good seat! The seats definitely are more narrow than I've seen at other locations - possible as a space saving measure with the downtown real estate? I would saw they're a bit wider than a standard airplane seat - possibly an issue for patrons with wider body size. The seats are equipped with rotating tables (part of the restaurant categorization) that swivel mostly out of the way if you have no use of them. The tables are equipped with cupholders - no more figuring out which neighbor is meant to have which cupholder! The seats themselves are comfortable and new, with the reclining capability as well as a warming function with high and low settings. I would have been happy with any theater coming to the downtown area, but having such an upscale one is a real win! read more

Conveniently located on bus route, near paid parking and directly by the train station. This renovated theater brings back so many memories. The atmosphere here is pretty laid back unless there is a premiere for a movie that has a cult like following or something I haven't seen the theater completely swamped, which is a plus if you actually want to watch and hear your movie. And now they have now elevated that experience even more to include premium snacks, alcohol and heated seats. That's right. The.seats.are.HEATED and the serve BOOZE!!! Mixed cocktails and a beer on tap or two. You can even choose which ever heat setting your bum desires whether that's Low or High. Kudos to you AMC, you know buffalo well. I've been so hopeful they would re-open this location so I'm happy it's finally happened. I just wish they would have expanded the types of movies they bring to the theater. I need some more diversity. There are roughly 4 or 5 movies that came out this year, big box office movies that disappointingly never made it to this particular city location. read more

You know how AMC theaters tease you with ads showing happy theater-goers buying a beer before settling into watch the movie? Finally it's no longer a tease! This theater has a full bar right in the lobby where you can buy an adult beverage to enjoy during the movie! Not only that, all the seats are updated with comfy recliners and food trays with cup holders. I sound like a used-car salesman here but I can't help saying ... "BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!" The seats are also heated!!!! Adjustable settings of low, high and off. So if you tend to get chilly in theaters, fear not! I struggled trying to figure out how to post a review that was not overly cutting and as you can see, I am scoring at two starts and trust me when I say that is being generous. I will say the theater is clean and open. Having not gone in a year, it was refreshing to wall in to such an open and welcoming ambiance. This is ultimately where the good experience ended. Where I am going to complain, I am also going To make suggestions. We walked in with electronic ticket in hand via my phone and the girl who scanned the ticket from behind the ad-hoc glass widow desk advised our movie was to the right. When looking to my right I see theaters 1-3 and to my left 4-7 (or 6). We proceeded towards our area but decided to get snacks since there was one person in front of us. So we waited.....and waited....and waited. Total time was 10 minutes....I am kidding because 10 minutes would have been okay, although excessive with only one person in front of us. No, we waited 25 minutes!!!!!!!!! Here is the thing - there were two workers behind the counter, a supervisor and the front desk worker. The two behind the counter had to work at being slow. It was insanely disorganized and although 90% of the transaction requires no actual touching, in theory it should actually be faster! Yes, even the seconds to hand over candy or change is now gone! I watched as two people fumbled all over themselves after the transaction. The supervisor....wait for it....was hanging out at the front desk while the two counter workers were Flip flopping with zero direction. Suggestion - besides training, get the supervisor to lead, give direction and form an assembly line at peaks (yes I will call a total of 2 people a "peak" time). I ordered 4 waters, 1 M&M bag and 2 large popcorns. It was $52. In other words, the cost of the movie tix and snacks were about 7 months of HBOMax where I would have seen the movie and had the same snacks for $20. Where I love the movie experience and want to support the local businesses, this was insulting but more from service than cost. Oh I should add, I received 3 waters. So I asked the girl at the counter if she rung me up for 4 and she said she did. Then she said they didn't have any water in the fridge; the walked to the fridge to show it had a slightly larger cold water and no regular size. Soooooo, I guess I was supposed to just ignore the fact that I did not get my last $5.40 water? Now instead of offering a slightly larger water and apologize for what appeared to be purposeful neglect, she had the supervisor go get water. Moments later he dropped the bag of water down and walks away - not a word. The girl peels the plastic and hands me a warm water. Here is another piece of advice : stock correctly. There was a ton of space in your fridge, so keep water on hand. Also, if you have water and another 3 ounces covers it, take the $.30 hit so the customer "may" come back. Now you lost at least another several hundred dollars in sales because I won't step foot in this place again. Next, there is NO MOVIE NAMES BY THE THEATER NUMBER. That's right. The girl at the front said "on the right." But no number to go to. I went to the right and played Russian Roulette with theaters 1-3. As I walked in to #1, I decided to look at my ticket. It said #4....which is to the left. I asked the girl again....is it left or right? She said "right." Barely looking up. Since the visit was down the tubes and I did not trust her, I went left. I walked in with my family to #4 and yep, it was the right one. Last piece of advice - get the movie names on the doors or above the doors or something. Low hanging fruit and way less aggravation. The other two families already inside we're also complaining how backwards everything seemed. So if you are missing going to the movies, it may not be the right time to go back yet. When you spend $100 on a really lousy experience you can cut your losses by subscribing to a pay channel for half of a year and have an amazing meal at home or even pay the $20 to rent when it hits Amazon. Hate to say it but maybe the movie theater industry is done for. With so many options to catch your latest films and with treatment like this, it will be now be my very last option. read more

I was so excited to see a movie theater appear downtown. I already started up with high expectations, and it was so great to see them met. Right next to Expo Market, is this full sized movie theater that seems as though it belongs in a suburb. AMC is in full force here with a dine-in option, full bar, leather recliner seats that are HEATED. They also have a coca-cola machine that is basically just a colorful fountain of options. Want to see how many flavors a diet sprite comes in? They got you. Also- have you ever felt shameful about the number of times you have to ask for more "butter"? I have to say that parking was not convenient for this location, I had to pay $5 to park down the street, but I was pleased with the ticket kiosk inside the lobby as it was oversized and easy to use (unlike the kiosks in the AMC Webster location). I did not have any concessions so I cannot comment on that area of the theatre, but I did notice that the water fountains had virtually no water pressure so it was difficult to even get a drink. Inside the theatre the seats are the electric recliners that many movie theatres are going to nowadays, but these seats also had the option of being heated (which I suppose may come in handy during the winter months) and each one had a swiveling tray table with cup holder attached to it (which is kind of cool but for me was actually more of a nuisance since I did not need it). Overall the theatre and bathrooms were all clean and seemed to be well maintained. Not the best movie theatre that I have ever enjoyed but better than most. read more
