This is my favorite movie theater. I consider myself to be quite the buff and film expert- so I'd like to believe I have some sort of connection with cinema. Anyways, this theater is much better than Lynbrook's for two reasons. Number one- it's AMC so they have Coke instead of Pepsi. Number two and most importantly- the seats and atmosphere. Lynbrook is very pretentious with their luxury reclining leather seats and swivel tables. Those seats are powered by a noisy electric motor that disrupts your viewing experience, and are bound to put you to sleep if you're not careful- you don't want to pay for an expensive nap. That is something you will not find in this theater- AMC Raceway 10 is the real deal with true auditorium seating. These chairs will keep you sitting erect and immersed into the show. I find the atmosphere in this location to be truly what going to the movies is all about. Grab a bucket of popcorn and a soda, it's time to go to the movies. read more

I had a terrible experience at this theater. I sent 2 kids to watch the new Minions movie and they sat through almost half of it before leaving because the entire screen looked blurry. It turned out they were never given the 3D glasses. How does something like that even happen? No one apologized and the staff showed absolutely no concern after ruining the experience for the kids. On top of that, there isn't a single chair or table in the lobby for parents who are waiting. The entire theater feels old, dirty, and poorly maintained. This place desperately needs renovations and much better customer service. I definitely won't be coming back read more

My first time here and it was a good experience. Huge parking lot so plenty of parking. Not sure how busy it gets but it wasn't that busy on a Saturday afternoon. The building is huge as it holds a bunch of theaters. You scan your ticket right after the entrance and the concessions are right past that. Plenty of options, not just candy and hotdogs. The soda machines are the new ones with tons of options. The theater we went to this time was big and the seats are decent. Cup holders and they reclined but they weren't as modern as other theaters. I believe there are 3D theaters here and those might have more modern seats. Overall good experience and I'll be back again to watch another movie! read more

Definitely didn't have a good experience here. When you walk in they do have a huge lobby. But it still looks very dull and dated. We then walk into the theater and they still have the old movie seats, which are the most uncomfortable seats ever. I thought they would have the recliner seats that the other AMC theaters have but I guess not. We also had a very loud group of teens behind us. I remember when they opened this theater as a spill over from Roosevelt Field being busy all the time. Time has not been kind to this theater, but it's still a great option for catching a movie. The floors could use a more regular cleaning, and the seats aren't the industry standard "recliners" but growing up in that age of theaters, it gets the job done. The concession lines do move, so you're rarely waiting for very long. read more

Me and my best friend went to see Sinners Friday opening night. GREEAT MOVIE I Recommend! I'm surprised this location hasn't been upgraded yet. I visited during Covid and came back expecting some improvements, but it still has the same outdated, dingy seats from decades ago. It honestly feels like there's been zero effort to maintain or modernize this theater. Walking in and seeing such a stark difference compared to other AMCs was disappointing. The seats are extremely low and uncomfortable, and the theater itself had an old, musty smell. To top it off, I ordered the beer cheese burger sliders and they tasted like they had just been microwaved. The cheese for my nachos wasn't even warm. Between the outdated theater and the disappointing food, this was an all-around letdown. As an AMC investor, this has been the most underwhelming location I've visited. read more

When this theater first opened back in the day, it was part of the Loew's chain and it was state of the art with 10 screens and rocker seats. We would come out to Westbury to do some shopping and catch a movie. AMC has since absorbed the Loew's chain and updated many other theaters, but Raceway seems to be the forgotten child. Behind the scenes updates like digital 2D & 3D projection, QR ticketing & purchasing have been installed, but the viewer experience and comfort has not changed in 20 years. Other theaters have gotten motorized reclining heated leather seats and snack tables, while the seats here still have the plastic cup holders built into the arm rests. First run movies on opening weekends are usually sold out in our neighborhood movie theaters in Queens, but Raceway almost always has tickets with decent seat locations if you don't mind the OG seats, but there always seems to be an issue. When we come for early weekend showings, there are usually less than 10 people in the theater. At last weekend's release of Dune 2, the WiFi in the building was down and they were only able to check previously bought on-line tickets manually and they couldn't sell tickets from the kiosk or even open up the concessions stand. We came for the first 11am show and we were the only 2 people in a theater with 300 seats. Good for us, but not for AMC. And I couldn't even buy any popcorn. At least the movie projectors and automatic towel dispensers in the rest rooms work. read more

Came here to see "Together" and it was your typical movie theater. Good location and standard offerings in terms of snacks. Big theater so that they have a lot options of movies to see. Place could be slightly cleaner but other than that, it is your run of the mill place. read more

This multiplex is clean and has a humongous parking lot! Yay! The movies they have are always top notch. If you join the AMC Stubs, you'll get to earn perks. My hubby and I went to the movies together for the first time in years. A daytime date night, if you will. Tuesdays have discounted movies if you go early in the day. And there's a senior discount. (There are benefits to getting older!) Plus we saved $10 by getting our perks! Their popcorn is the best! Tip: Ask them to fill your popcorn halfway, then go get your butter, then go back to fill it up the rest of the way and then add more butter. Every kernel will have butter on it! We went to see Wicked, so to get into it, I got a Wicked Icee. Vile!!!! I told the gentleman right away and he gave me options to choose a different flavor, get a credit on my account, or get a refund. I chose the refund. Easy peasy. Of course the theater was empty, so I wasn't taking him away from anything else. I'd rate it 5 stars, but I had to go to customer service because, although there were lots of stalls in the bathroom, almost all were dirty. Still a great place to see a movie. I hope this chain stays around as I hear they might be filing for bankruptcy. read more

What the heck happened to this theater?!?! AMC Raceway used to be one of my fave theaters, about 20 years ago! Through the years, it has slowly declined in every possible way. I was here on a random Thursday evening, and was shocked to find that the parking lot on one side of the theater was completely empty. I'm talking tumbleweed empty! Back in the day, you couldn't even find a parking spot on either side of the theater! The seats in the theaters are all dirty, stained and just run down. It was actually sad to see this theater in this condition. read more

I traveled to this place and it's disgusting and nasty. I was expecting it to be like a normal movie theater. The seats are so uncomfortable. I can't lean back. My back was already hurting now it's already hurting even more they should really use the money to fix the seats. AMC Stubs boasts that members can see up to four movies a week . The problem is the movies don't turn over that quickly.

My biggest criticism of this theater is AMC not making upgrades that would make the customer return....The interiors are dated but more importantly the seating is about 30 years old and has become uncomfortable with not much legroom in each row....AMC is obviously not investing in stadium seating with recliners so why would I want to return at this point...This once was a great theater. read more

The concession employee refuse to sell an item I was trying to buy saying needed a movie ticket for it. And I made it clear the ticket was for a later show and wanted the popcorn bucket since it's the last one and it's sold out everywhere else. We received free tickets to see " sound of freedom " and it was for this theatre, never been before .. let me just say it's our first and last time . Everything about this theatre screams low budget and we were in room 4 as soon as you walked in it stunk of cigarettes and the seats were from the 80's super uncomfortable. I was so restless the whole movie because I couldn't breath correctly from the cigarette smell and the seats . When I went to the concession stand the kid sitting behind the register was to bust playing on his phone he couldn't bother to help me until I asked if he was open . The only positive thing about this place is they have a big parking lot . Pretty much everything else is terrible. Don't waste your time nor money coming here . Time travel back to mid 80's to early 90's. On their website it said "reserved seating". It was my bad that I thought that "reserved" meant seats would be the leather/pleather reclining seats that quite frankly I thought was standard in all theatres in this 21st century. Shocked that a) the seats are cushion fabric cloth material....GROSS.. this should be a health hazard and against the law by now...ever heard of bed bugs?! b) the seat back is short, only comes up to your shoulder and I'm a shortie. Not that you want to lean your hair against cloth/cushion seats..gross c) the screen is small and the color was not vivid and the sound not good. Sucks for me and totally ruined the movie Avatar 2 for us.. Oh well. You can be assured we will never return to this theatre. I haven't been here in like 10 years and it hasn't improved. I'm not sure why it hasn't been updated. It's not really an old school theater, so they can't be trying to keep it authentic. The young lady at the cash register was so sweet and helpful. The gentleman at the pick up counter though was too bust socializing and I was a little worried I'd be late for my movie. Brought my kids to this AMC to watch a movie for the first time and they had a good experience. The services at the concessions were great and the staff was very friendly, however, it was a bit confusing in terms of where the line began. The seats are the traditional ones, not the fancy recline seats, but I did not mind to be sitting on these chairs for an adult ticket of $9.39 and a kid ticket of $7.29 on weekends for a NEW movie. Yes, the building and the furniture need to be updated, but you got what you pay for. Plenty of parking space in the front and the back of the building. The theater is located in a very convenient location, which is closed to stores and restaurants. read more

I usually try not to leave negative reviews, but my streak has ended. My boyfriend and I walked into this theater tonight for a 9:30 showing, and we were immediately disgusted by our surroundings, even before we got to our screen. The place was NOT packed, no terrible lines, not busy at all, but it was absolutely FILTHY. A lake of juice on the floor by the vending machines, trash and popcorn littered everywhere, and not one custodian in sight cleaning anything. We got to our theater (without ANYONE checking our tickets. We could've walked in to ANY movie) and the trash cans were not emptied but overflowing. This was 10 MINUTES before our movie. The theater itself was also not cleaned out yet and completely trashed. The air was musty and the seats, well, Let's just say we took one look and walked out. I understand it's a busy Sunday night of an opening weekend of two major blockbusters, but where we all the other employees besides the concession stand workers? Does no one care about their work environment anymore? Is this theater managed by a teenager? I will no longer set foot in this theater. read more

I went here to see the new Dr Strange movie on a Tuesday afternoon. I think I got a discount I can't remember. I like assigned seats movies. They have a decent sized concession stand dab smack in the middle when you first walk in and a parking lot that covers three sides of the building. The bathrooms are well kept. Im just gonna break this down to pros & cons for easy reading: PROS: #1: Cheap during off peak times - went for a weekday matinee and it was only $6.29 for a ticket. Regular prices are around $12.49 for a weekend peak ticket though. #2: Tons of parking and it isn't crowded. You won't be asked to pick your seat in advance like other theaters. CONS: #1: The top reason I won't go back...my dad saw a mouse cross the aisle in the theater and we spent the rest of the movie neurotically waiting for its return with our feet up. #2: You can hear the movie in the next theater over loud and clear. Went for Bohemian Rhapsody, heard half of A Star is Born. It's super annoying when you're watching a serious and quiet part of the movie. #3: Seats are old and could use an upgrade really bad. I don't demand the recliner style seats of other theaters, but I felt like I was gonna fall through mine. They show a few older run movies and as mentioned earlier, the price is right. The bathrooms are not bad and the theaters are a decent size. But for a couple of extra bucks, I would have paid not to have to worry about a mouse crawling up my pants during the movie. read more

This is the worst movie theater ever. For starters, no reclining seats. The seats are AT LEAST 20 years old with stains on them!!!! As if moving around in your seat TRYING to get comfortable isn't bad enough, smelling MOLD the whole time was the WORST OF IT! My friend and I checked it out afterwards. It WASN'T JUST our movie room, other movie rooms smelt like mold too! The workers are probably nose blind to the smell. Honestly, the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH should DEFINITELY be notified of this!!!!! And the management should be ashamed that they let it get that way!!!!! The staff doesn't get paid enough money to worry about any of this (besides their health!)
