Best movie theatre in the burbs. End of story. It is easy to get to and unlike the ONLY other movie theatre, in my opinion, that can hold a candle to this place (I'm talking about Muvico in Rosemont) the parking is easy. The place is super clean and the chairs and big and comfy. They have a rewards program that actually grants rewards. If you see a couple movies a month you'll end up with free popcorn, drinks, and movie tickets in no time. Even if you're not in the area this place is totally worth the drive. read more

So I like the theatre, it's definitely updated with a nice lobby and polite front desk staff. There is also a little bar so a date night here could be fun! What I didn't love is that any/all parking is far away from the main entrance so to come with my mom or aunt who have difficulty walking would not happen. Despite AMC 12 being out of my way, I came to see "Fright Night 3D". I was told the new cinema had recliners. NOT TRUE! The seats rock like in the old days, only better... Cinema stadium 4 is designed with 2 sectioned off areas that seat up to four people. It's semi-private so it's ideal for a family w/kids, a small group of friends and double daters, inclusive of a table for placing such items as concession stand purchases. When I see movies, I always sit in the last or 2nd to last row, center. So it was a bit disconcerning to find myself facing a semi-obstructed view from the last row where the seat did not rock or recline. Fortunately, the theater was medium-sized and not crowded so we decided to sit in front of this wall. As movie trailers rolled on, my imagination wandered about the reasons for having the barrior behind us. The only useful conclusion for its existance is to block naughty adult unmentionable behavior from disrupting the other audience members. By the way, I shall never go to a movie theater hungry, frequently sneak a botted drink in with me and always wonder why a person uses the stall next to me when there are 20 other vacant ones to choose from. read more

We came here during the "screening" and we absolutely love it. Not only because I got to sit in a booth and have a table while enjoying my beer in the theater, but the seats literally shook as I watched Avatar, which was super neato! Prices are stereotypical movie theater prices, BUT, I think you get good quality food items compared to other theaters. The cheese sticks were super excellent...they were thinner and longer and more seasoned....mmm....cheese. ANYWAYS, I would definitely make the trek out here when they open. I heart that they are LEED certified, and the decor is super pleasing to the eyes. Bartenders were friendly and way honest.... 5.50 a beer (at a theater!!), can't complain! read more

This is the RE-MODELED Randhurst AMC theaters, replacing the old theaters in the same mall/plaza. Two noteworthy features of this theater: 1. the new touchscreen coke machine, where you can select from over 100 favor combinations. 2. plush seating at the top of the theaters - first come first serve. These special seats are a real treat - leg room doesn't give the extra space justice. There is enough room for a few suitcases and a stroller. really nice touch. In all seriousness....Friday December 27th, two days after Christmas, in the afternoon, kids EVERYWHERE, people EVERYWHERE my sister and I walk in here, buy our tickets for "American Hustle" over to the right. They tell us theater 5 so we walk over to Theater 5 and well...no one stopped us, no one was even around staff-wise!!! I jokingly said to her "Wanna just watch movies all day and movie hop? No one is around!!!" She responded...I can't believe no one is here taking our ticket or stub. Right??? Well, for one...I've never done that, and didn't plan on it but I'm just saying the possibility was there. I'm not sure I've been to a theater lately that didn't take your ticket when you entered the hallway to the theater seating. Other than that...the place was clean, and everything was fine. I loved this theater! My brother and his wife live nearby so a lot of times I find myself in the area and spending the night. We decided to see the new Batman movie (Dark Knight Rises) and catch the matinee, first showing of the day. First of all, two tickets for like $12 is enough to get me to do a cartwheel. But it didn't stop there. We went into the theater and sat on the world most comfy theater seats. They were wide enough for me to sit indian style through the whole thing (note that I am a bigger girl, not height wise either). Considering the film was like 2 hours and 40 some odd minutes, I expected to be annoyed towards the end. But I was comfy through this movie and loved the theater overall. I have absolutely no complaints and I always complain at movie theaters (people talking, sticky floor, etc...) read more

OK still relatively new and the quality of the seats is all is takes for me to make this location my new go to theater for Hollywood hits. The seats are large, they recline a bit, they are in leather and they are so comfortable it totally augments the movie going experience. The other pluses, clean restrooms designed with a "green" way of thinking: water saving, Dyson hand dryers....; a bar in the lobby for the patrons that may like that; concessions just have the usual offerings. Free garage parking a few feet away is a nice plus in the winter. The only negative, plan ahead this movie theater gets packed and if you don't come early enough you will be seated in the front rows and will have a guaranteed neck pain by the end of the movie. read more

So I had tickets to a free screening here for the Internship (amazing movie BTW). Besides seeing the movie for free, this experience was amazing! Now living 10 minutes form Muvico, which I frequent mostly, I would have most likely never ever came out here to see a movie. But, I'm beyond happy I did. This theater is 3 steps up form Muvico. Leather seats (most likely fake) but they did make me sweat more which was a down fall. But ever single seat was taken so id imagine on a normal viewing it wouldn't be that hot in there. The very front seats that most dread sitting in are recliners! How awesome is that! I was actually jealous I didn't know that and they were all taken! They also have curved seats with tables, unlike having to have 20$ more like at Muvico to sit at, they are part of the normal seating. They also have a bar in the lobby area which is another plus in my book! Definitely a must go to theater to just check it out at least once! I will be coming back for sure! read more

I love the new Randhurst! Has absolutely no resemblance of the old, dirty, icky movie theater. The seats are all comfy, and I believe that they all recline a little. There are couch-style seating to the sides, and the seats in the front recline all the way back. There is a bar in this movie theater :) There is a large variety of food available from the regular movie food to frozen yogurt! The theater does tent to sell out on opening nights, and there is sometimes a line waiting in advance before the movie, but if you order the tickets online and arrive early you should be okay. The parking lot that is right by the theater is very convenience, well lit and clean. read more

Local theater, local attraction. The AMC Randhurst 16 is pretty mediocre as far as theaters go. Not a lot of screens, not the highest quality screens. It's close and reasonably clean. I certainly wouldn't make a special trip to see something at this theater. The last few times I've been here the lines at the box office have been obnoxiously long. They must be trying to save on staff. Apparently they're building a new AMC theater just across the parking lot at Randhurst. I'm not sure what the future holds for this older theater. read more

The cleanest, most comfortable AMC that I have been to. The seats in every theater are leather and cushioned, it's like you are sitting at home. They have nice sized screens, and amazing sound. The crowd here is pretty laid back, so you don't have that rowdy crowd like some of the other theaters. The location is also amazing, as there are tons of places to eat in the area. The only reason that I am not giving this location 5 stars is because of the popcorn at the concession stand. If I could, I would give it a 4.5 for this reason. Don't get me wrong, as the concession has a larger variety of things to eat and drink than your typical theater, but if you are anything like me, you want hot fresh popcorn. The popcorn here is made and put on a shelf ready for people to grab and pay. Since the popcorn sits on the shelf for so much time, by the time you pick it up, it's at room temperature, and it doesn't seem as fresh. read more

They keep this place pretty clean. Some times the popcorn is stale, they have actual food and ice cream, I've save money using the Stubs Card, but if you don't go often the stubs card is useless. They have great seats the theater is pretty new so all their amenities are still in tip top shape. The staff, depending on what time you go, some are nicer than others. It's a pretty good theater to go on a Sunday morning. read more

I love this location, the only sad thing about it is that they do not have the reclining chairs. I like this place mostly because it is new the facilities are nice and the bathrooms are always clean. But I always manage to come when it is empty and I LOVE that...call me crazy but there are times where I have seen films just by myself in an entire theater. Now I'm certain if you go during a big deal movie or later in the evening you won't find this to be true, but know I would not lie to you and it harbors this potential. Much better than that old theater they knocked down. That one was terrible. This one is new and clean, with a nice picture. It's a bit of a walk if you park in the garage, but not too bad. The outside of the feature is a bit picturesque, kind of like the "now showing" intro that places before every AMC trailer set. The seats are fantastic! I have never sat in more comfortable seats! There are even separate table areas on the sides for large groups and lounge chairs all the way in the front. Stadium seating, full bar. I mean this is my go to theater. The star off is the expensive price, I mean 3 people has cost me close to 40 dollars, and that's not even 3D. Went to see The Hunger Games the movie was GREAT The lack of respect from other patrons was rude. What is it with people and cell phones. Came to catch Annabelle at 10:05 on Thursday 8/17 and yes we arrived a bit behind we figured we skip the previews but thought we can still get in 5 minutes after apparently not. Myself and girlfriend and one other guy meeting his friends couldn't get in the doors were locked. I bought my 17 year old daughter 2 tickets online to see the new movie, 'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It'. When she got there, she was asked for her ID which she wasn't carrying with her at the time. She then also had her boyfriend show them his school ID to prove their age. She called me and so I came and when I told the manager I purchased the tickets for them, she still wasn't allowed to see the movie even with her permit. The manager then asked for a picture of her ID to match the names up. I offered to show them my drivers license to match my last name to hers. That still wasn't acceptable. When she asked for a refund at least, they gave her passes for any movie until the 30th. Even with me there physically there to give her consent, she still was not allowed as a 17 year old. I would maybe understand as to why, but by the woodfield location, i've boughten tickets for her there before as well. 18+ movies, never was asked for an ID and if she was, she would simply say she's 17 and theyd have no problem. Honestly wouldn't recommend going here, too strict about age restrictions as if there's someone watching them and the minute they go in they'd be fired. It just still blows my mind how I can be there giving them consent to see it and my daughter still being denied. Waste of time and $. read more

As much as I miss the old AMC Randhurst 16 and don't understand why they tore down a theater with more screens to build this, I have to say I like this place. I'd like to give it 5 stars, but many of my favorite features of the new theater came with some kind of little drawback, so four stars it is. They have these magic soda machines that offer over 100 kinds of soda, plus you can make your own frankensodas if you want. Sadly, they don't offer regular caffeine free coke, only diet caffeine free coke. Somehow the people who make these decisions thought vanilla Sprite would go over better than regular caffeine free cola. Still, the thing is pretty cool. Similarly, the other concessions are a big step up from your average theater. While things are still pricey, you have a lot more options, which you can grab yourself like in a store instead of having to ask the cashier to get it for you. This includes an attempt at healthy snacking, with little healthy snack packs that include a small beverage. The space is deceptively large--I say deceptive because three of the shelves were all full of the exact same flavor of gourmet popcorn, which I couldn't eat because I'm lactose intolerant. I'd like to see the space used better, with a few more products to round out the selection. I also like the new spill-resistant seats. I can't tell you how many times I have sat down in what appeared to be a dry upholstered theater seat only to feel something cold and wet seeping up through the cushion and into the seat of my pants after a few moments of sitting. GROSS. That won't happen here, and they're also pretty comfy, too. Unfortunately, nobody appeared to have cleaned the theater between showings, because I had to skip over two soda-splashed seats before I found a clean one in the row I wanted. Also, some creepy people had taken off their shoes and were resting their bare feet on the head rests of the seats in the row in front of them. It was, oh, about 90 degrees outside at the time. No ushers or other employees came through the theater before the show started, so there was nobody to ask these people to please get their sweaty toes off the head rests. Ick! At least there are nifty little semicircles of seats off to the side of the theaters, where you can seat 4 people around a table and there looks to be too much space between rows for footrest purposes. Another new feature here is the automated ticketing; I don't think the old AMC Randhurst had this. Of course, when I was there, the one out front was out of paper, so we stood in line anyways. Come on, people! What good is automated ticketing if nobody can use it? I didn't go to the bar, but they do have one here--a full bar, too, not just a couple types of beer and wine like at Muvico. I might take advantage of this sometime if I need to drink myself into a coma to forget the smell of somebody's feet being a few inches away from my face for two hours. Finally, the new parking garage has a great feature: it's free! There's also no validation required, so you can get in and out fast. This is another plus over Muvico, where sometimes a line accumulates at the parking validation machine, at the gate at the garage exit, or even sometimes at the entrance gate to get the validation ticket. Long story short, I will be coming back to Randhurst 12. Hopefully on my next visit, the place delivers the 5 star service the exterior seems to promise. read more

This theater is the reason why I joined Yelp. While many people are enamored with the state-of-the-art everything this place has to offer, once the honeymoon is over, I'm sure they will be agreeing with my disdain towards this place the same way they long to go bowling without black lights and techno music. To begin, it should be noted that this theater replaced a theater that was just over 15 years old and had 16 screens, not 12. I have heard of theaters that were 25 or 30 years old with one or two screens being torn down to make way for newer multiplexes, but this is the first time I have witnessed the destruction of a relatively new establishment in order to make room for a theater with less screens. Which begs the question, why not just remodel the "older" one? The problem was, the "older" theater was an out lot establishment. Meaning that people would have to trek through the parking lot to visit the new mall's fine dining spots like Subway or visit high end anchor stores like TJ Maxx. Thus far, the new theater gets an "F" for being green but an "A" for going above an beyond by helping moviegoers with an already languid lifestyle move even less. One, and possibly only, improvement the theater has made was installing automatic ticket machines in the front of the building. Now most people find these to be somewhat complicated, but they are a vast upgrade compared to the staff they decided to recycle from the old theater. Those who work at the ticket area still have difficulty working a machine that is about as complicated as a computer running Windows 3.1 (which I suppose could be complicated since most of them have only used computers with Window XP or higher). The concession area, which does have more to offer and is mostly self-serve, struggles with the same problem as the ticket counter -- incompetent staff. Once your selections have been made, you enter a line similar to one found in an amusement park. Only instead of getting on a ride, you come to a person who, once again, can't seem to work a cash register. The most frustrating part about standing in this line, however, isn't that someone, who is supposed to know more about computers than you, can't figure out how to ring up your grocery bag of popcorn and bucket of cola, but the fact that there are two more computer terminals that remain unmanned while the concession line begins to snake out the front door. Many people have raved about the seats. Admittedly, they are nice. They are made of a pleather material so spills don't get absorbed by the cushioning. They are also big enough to accommodate the morbidly obese. The front row seats recline so people can fall asleep in front of the screen like they do at home. There are also semi-private balcony-like areas for teenage lovebirds to graduate from making-out and heavy petting to full on sexual intercourse. Another benefit of the pleather upholstery, I guess. Other features include a bar, which I have seen only a handful of people use at any given time, and new architecture. I don't know about you, but I go to a freestanding bar to drink and really anywhere else to see architecture. If you're coming here for either, you live a sad life. I go to the movies to watch movies. So let's talk about that experience. Once again, there are four fewer theaters here, so good luck if you are interested in seeing a smaller independent film. Also, if you find 3D movies to be overpriced and headache inducing, you really won't have a chance to see movies that are shot in 3D in anything but. Finally, if the movie you plan on seeing is in Theater 10, just turn around and go home. Theater 10 is their smallest theater, and it's always jam packed. Pricing is still outrageous, and I'm not talking in a When-I-was-your-age-the-moving-pictures-only-cost-a-nickel way. The regular price for an adult is $10.00 and $7.00 for a child. If you get there before 4:00, you get a 2.00 discount on the adult price only. And if you should want to wake up before noon to go to the movies, the theater has generously priced their tickets at five dollar apiece. By the way, they only have one showing before noon. The regular prices are pretty much standard across the AMC board, but if you go to Niles you can see any movie before 6:00 Monday through Thursday for $5.00. The regular price for adults at Arlington Theatre is $8.00 and $5.50 for children. Don't even get me started on the price of concessions. Quite frankly, given the horrible service and the high ticket prices, one would think they would include the concessions in the price of the ticket. I know the theater is new, and everyone wants to try out the new bells whistles, but you will receive a better value, and a better experience, if you go anywhere else. read more

I've come to this theater multiple times and it has always been my favorite. I enjoy the separate line for premium stubs members and the bar. The reason for the 3 stars is their customer service is great but their food has gone downhill. The popcorn has not been fresh the past 2 times I have gone and the nacho cheese is not good! Extremely rude management. They kicked me and my girlfriend of 2 years, out of the theater. My girlfriend forgot to bring her ID and they didn't let her in. The irony is that if she was under 18.... (and we are upper 20's) that means that i could be her guardian and it wouldn't matter. But if she is too old for me to be her guardian..... then she's old enough to watch. Overpriced and understaffed. Your typical teenagers with no annunciation skills or drive work here. The floors are sticky and the seats are stadium, but not very comfortable. Its saving grace is that during the week you can catch a movie without too many other people in the showing. But even without the extra noise from other customers you'll have to strain to hear the low sound over the loud air vents. read more

Great new theater! It's super clean, has huge top notch screens, reclining leather seats, and great food options. They even have a full bar for adults in the main area. I love the different seating options too. You can choose a normal reclining chair, loveseat, or even a family booth of 4 on the side with a table included. Pretty neat!
