They got rid of the dine in experience here. The food is just your basic concession food now and the place is falling apart.

One of the better theaters in the Denver area the Southlands Dine in offers recliner seating, a table you can swivel in front of you to set your food/snacks on and in seat ordering (assuming you have the AMC app. Overall the theater was clean and the people working concessions were friendly and prompt. This theater has some expanded menu items as a dine in AMC that you might not find at other locations. The only downside is there is no close parking because of it being located in a walking shopping district. TL:DR - AMC dine in Southlands is worth a drive. As it is one of the better theaters in the area. read more

My husband and I went in, five days ago to see The Devil Wears Prada 2, and we had the worst experience. When we went in, the person who scanned our tickets were very kind, but when we got to the counter to get popcorn and drinks, the girl serving us was so rude. I believe her name was Maddi? As she was taking our order, she was giving us a glare and kept talking over me at times. when she gave us our popcorn she sighed and said something under her breath. im very disappointed, every time we come here the staff is lovely. this girl should not be working customer service if she gets annoyed fast. Came here for the first time to watch a movie with my children and had a great experience. Having the lounge experience is superb! It's a great time way to relax and enjoy the movie. I love that you have the option to pre order the food online. I didn't do that unfortunately and had to wait in line but the pro is that the line moved fast and I got my food quickly delivered to our seats. The whole experience was enjoyable. Great Dolby Cinema -- disappointing new recliners AMC Southlands did an excellent job upgrading to Dolby Cinema. The picture quality and sound are outstanding and genuinely elevate the movie experience. Unfortunately, the newly installed recliners are a major downgrade from the previous seats. They barely recline, offer limited leg support, and are noticeably less comfortable than the older AMC recliners. For longer movies especially, the lack of recline really detract from the experience. It's frustrating because Dolby Cinema is designed for immersive, premium viewing -- but the seating doesn't match that standard. I hope AMC reconsiders these chairs or adjusts them, because the theater itself is otherwise fantastic. read more

Filthy theater. All surfaces including the floors, counters and seats are in desperate need of a deep cleaning. I dislike the fact that they leave the theater doors open which means the sounds of the other movies are blasting through the hallways. I realize that this is for the servers to have easier entry access but it's really annoying. I believe the volume throughout the theater was far too loud overall but the tray setup and comfortable seats are nice. The video quality is good as well, so I won't rule this place out entirely, but better property management is certainly needed. read more

This theater is disgustingly filthy. The soda stations are always sticky (the counters and surrounding floors). The restrooms have tons of toilet paper laying around and the feminine hygiene trash bins smell. The recliners are in need of maintenance, they are old and uncomfortably worn out with tears in the upholstery. For the insane amount of money you pay for a movie these days, you'd think it would be a bit more taken care of. read more

It's an AMC- not much to say. Pretty mediocre movie experience, but it'll do in a pinch.

I'll avoid this theater from now on. For a theater that presents itself as a premium venue, it felt like the nasty cheap theater in the bad part of town. Woefully understaffed. I went to the Barbie Movie on the second weekend it was released. About nothing was right: - no one was at the front ticket booth; instead there was one stressed out guy beeping online tickets and it was a slow line - floor was disgusting everywhere - self serve drinks and butter area was disgusting (ice was piled up in all the drink machines dispenser and the counters were filthy) - leather panel on seat armrest was completely ripped off - bathrooms probably hadn't been cleaned all day or longer, they were gross - projector left blue speckles on the lower left corner of the screen that were very distracting during dark scenes - food is ludicrously overpriced; $16 for a milkshake? read more

Every time I go to this theater food is always nasty. Today 05/24/2025 my bf and I went to go see Lilo and Stitch at 7:30 PM. Many of us waited out in the hallway because the workers needed to clean up. After the clean up we got seated, food usually would arrived 10 or 15 minutes before show time. We sat there for 10 minutes, we decided maybe we'll go pick up the food instead. They told us just to wait for it. 10 minutes in still nothing, when our food finally arrived it was cold and soggy. I wonder how long it was sitting out. We paid over 16 dollars for salty fries and cold soggy burgers that would taste better somewhere else. Honestly I would rather pay for the movie and the recline chair other than that I would not pay for the nasty food that been sitting out which won't pass the food safety temperature read more

The theater was trashed. Popcorn everywhere and trash and napkins all on the common areas. I stopped going to Arapaho because the place was so run down. I saw the icee machine was overflowing the drain pan and running all over the floor. Plenty of workers taking food to guest but nobody cleaning up. This place is new clean and beautiful. I love the reclining seats of course. But I had no idea if you could order food while in the theatre or how to do that. And I found the app for all this confusing so we ended up not ordering during the movie. But the sound and screen were excellent quality. We saw the ninja turtles movie and it was super fun. I love that it's next to restaurants and other fun stores and things to do. I went to find a screen that showed ninja turtles to take a photo in front of but couldn't find one. Some of these things I must be spoiled from going to Alamo drafthouse which seems to do all these things much better. read more

Came to see a movie with my wife late Sunday evening, and was disappointed with the leadership and cleanliness. As we waited to get a snack, there were 22 employees standing around while one person was working. Walking to our auditorium, we both noticed how dirty the carpet was and that there was trash scattered all over. I would hope that the management and leadership team here would find ways to utilize their employees. There are lots of options to see a movie these days and AMC used to be the top dog. read more

We saw Indiana Jones, I ordered the chicken nacho's and my husband ordered the pepperoni flatbread. Our food was delivered right before the movie started. The reason for the 2 stars once the movie begins your theater is locked so if you need to use the restroom your screwed! By the time the movie was over I was having bladder spasms I needed to urinate so badly!!! I can't see where locking patrons in is a safe. I paid to see a movie and ordered a $50.00 meal I should be able to use the restroom during the movie! This is not the policy at any other theater we have been to! Because of this theater policy we will not be back! Shame on you!!!! read more

We prepaid for the food with our tickets. We scheduled a specific time to get our food before the movie. We didn't get our food until after the movie started and after I went to the food counter asking where our food was. My father ordered a salad. When we received the salad it was completely unappetizing and inedible. We asked for a new salad and it looked even worse. I will never go to this movie theater again. read more

Our experience was such that we will actively avoid this theatre going forward. We booked seats well in advance- that part was fine. Arrived to the movie early. Seats weren't particularly clean but shrugged it off. Tried to order snacks to our seats- this was a special outing for the kids, we don't typically do this so they were really excited. The app didn't work. Tried several times. There was plenty of time before the movie started so we went out to the concession stand to order the old fashioned way. Ordered 4 milkshakes. For $65. Crazy, yes but I'd promised the kids. We were told they would bring them to our seats. Not ideal but we went with it. Went back, waited half an hour. No shakes, and the movie was about to start. I went to check, there was a line at the concession stand. Waited a bit and noticed shakes lined up on a counter. I didn't want to miss more of the movie waiting longer so I went back to my seat. Missed the first 5 minutes of the movie. 15 minutes later - 45 minutes after ordering- the milkshakes were brought out. Two servers brought four shakes on trays. And then dumped on onto my legs. Why trays? They apologized. I went to the bathroom to wash off the milkshake from my pants and shoes. Missed more of the movie. Several minutes after returning an employee came over - interrupting our movie AGAIN and offered a rag to clean my pants. I told her we had taken care of it. A while later they came back AGAIN with the shake for my 10 year old. I missed chunks of the movie, got to sit in an ice cream mess, and they did nothing. I worked at a theatre when I was 16. We would have, at minimum, apologized and offered tickets for another show. Which costs the theatre nothing (would probably make them money on more concessions) and shows some awareness of how they messed up what was supposed to be a special night out. Accidents happen. I know. It's how you address them - or don't- that matters. read more

Theater was dirty. Food/reception stand had CNN on. Why would a movie theater have any partisan news network on? This isn't the airport or what people go to the movies for. Easy to get to location with lots of free parking available. The theatre is nice with reclining seats and a large tray table at every seat. Some of the recliner seats have tears and rips which is why I took a star off the rating. You are able to order food and other concessions directly thru the AMC app and they will deliver it to your seat within 10 minutes of the movie start time which definitely is nice not having to wait in the concession lines. read more

It appears that nobody has vacuumed popcorn off the floor in weeks, the drink station is very unsanitary, seats are sticky and counters are not wiped down. Honestly appalling for such a cute area like Southlands. The managers should be ashamed of what they're allowing to be true of this place. Bought tickets in advance. Short line in premier, I recommend paying the fee for this. Once at the counter I was told they are out of bone in wings. No clue when they will get more. Icy machine out of red icy. Loaded fries came only half full. I don't know what has happened to make things so sad. Movie was good, but I was left feeling like I missed something. It's mid week. You should be fully stocked and ready for guests to spend their hard earned dollars. Tell people before they come in so that they can make choices. read more

Went to see the movie, Civil War. Had a ticket issue, and the customer service was no help for that. Ordered everything online. Ordered our food through their app, being the Dine-In Southlands, and it took 45 minutes from order to delivery, 35 minutes after the "Your order will be at your seat in 10 minutes" text they send you. Theatre was also abnormally loud, with different volumes for different things, making it even more noticeable. Food was decent, just took a long time to receive. read more

We used to love AMC Southlands location because it is so convenient and close to home. Unfortunately, we'd rather make the drive to AMC Highlands Ranch these days as the Southlands location is so dirty. The floor is so sticky next to the ICEE machine and there is popcorn everywhere on the floor of the lobby; you can tell there is no routine/hourly maintenance done. It sucks as movie tickets are not that cheap these days so you want to ensure to have a great experience. Please make sure staff is keeping an eye out on these details to ensure a better experience for customers. read more

Always my favorite theater. The theater is always welcoming when we enter and they always have someone to greet you at the door to scan your electronic tickets so you can bypass the main counter. The atmosphere of the theater is clean with good customer service, but remember it does get busy. There is a kitchen so that you can order food (I highly recommend joining the AMC A List - because if you do they will deliver your food to you in the theater which is awesome and convenient). The kitchen, of course, has your movie basics like popcorn and candy - but they also have items like nachos, pretzel bites, chicken tenders and more. They also have a really decent bar for the adults too. I love that they have special drinks for movie releases as well. The reclining seats are by far my favorite out of all of the theaters as they truly recline and are very comfortable. They recline like a lazy boy and allow you to really feel relaxed. I recommend row G if you can get it - it makes for the perfect view and experience. The seats are also really roomy and they are sectioned in two so it makes for a little bit more of a private experience without smelling the popcorn off your neighbor's breath. Overall love the theater and the experience and the assigned seating. The app makes the experience even easier. read more

First of all, this is NOT a dine-in theater. You order your crappy food (that you can get at pretty much ANY theater) at the concession stand and they deliver it to your seat. You get your own drink at the fountain. Honestly, the food I've gotten at other regular theaters is far better than the garbage they serve here. The ONLY differences between this theater and a regular theater are; the comfy reclining seats, and having someone else carry your crappy cold food items to your seat for you. What a rip off. This theatre has gone downhill over the past year. Each time we have visited, it's filthy. The soda machines were sticky, unclean, and the syrup was out. There was trash and food all over the floors in the concession area, and the floors were sticky. This has been the case the last 3 times we gave it a try. Our movie theatre was in theatre 15. There was a tear on the screen that was visible while trying to watch the movie. There was popcorn in our chairs from the previous show. Also, when our show ended a few weeks ago, the kitchen staff was blasting music littered with profanity that we got to listen to while leaving the dirty facility. We decided to use some coupons given to my husband for Christmas from our son and his girlfriend. When we arrived we were told that all of the coupons had been used and had no value. We were quite surprised to say the least! Obviously it was disappointing but the manager came over, heard our story and gave us entry into the movie. While my husband and daughter dealt with the tickets, I went to see if the soda and popcorn coupons were good, they were not. I paid for popcorn and we went into the theatre. The manager tracked us down and gave us 3 sodas free of charge as his apology for our trouble. Very nice and above and beyond what he needed to do. Thank you! Southlands will definitely be my preferred theatre. read more
