This is an excellent movie theater. Conveniently located in the Sugarloaf Mills mall this AMC has everything you could want when you want to watch that latest movie in the cinema. We make it a family excursion to go out to the movies at least once a year and have enjoyed ourselves most of the times thanks to AMC Sugarloaf Mills. Prices seem to be cheaper if you prepurchase online and the theater itself is large and well kept. We have come here for over 10 years and I hope they stay in business forever. Brought the kids here for a movie day and we enjoyed ourselves. The theater was spacious and the seats were comfortable. We came during matinee time so we paid matinee prices. The rewards program is nice. You can get lower prices during the week and also earn points to get free stuff. The staff were very kind and helpful. We did use the restroom and it was very clean and didn't have an offensive odor. The theater itself was very clean. I'd come here again if I were in the area. They are located inside Sugarloaf Mills Mall and there is so much to do here and lots of restaurant options. You could make it a day with a movie, shopping, and some family fun. read more

The employees that work here go above and beyond when interacting with customers. My family, regarding my children and I, were warmly greeted and accommodated. It's a great theatre that we always come to. It has Dolby, which truly has the better experience. Like screw IMAX like Dolby has it all! I am also a bit bias because I am a rewards member looool. We are A-List members and try to see three movies a week. We saw Matrix Ressurrections tonight. I thought we should really see this one in a movie theater but boy was I wrong. This review is for AMC and not the movie. . This location is large and clean. Bathrooms are plentiful and right where you need them. The hallways are very colorful and there are many theaters. Here's some information you should know about this AMC theater. I have visited this theater several times in the past, but always choosing the Dolby cinema. Considering that experience and going to various other AMC Theatres I expected every theater in this complex to be similar... But I was woefully incorrect. I recently decided to see a film running on its third weekend in release. I was shocked when I enter the theater to see it that the reclining seats in the Dolby Theatre and other AMC locations were not installed here and the seats that are inside are akin to flying coach... and you know how that is. To add to it, I could easily hear the sound bleeding in from the theater next door... shoddy construction. RME... I don't deal with the concessions and from observation, there are always lines and it's congested. Bottom line: their Dolby Theatre is about 4 stars ... otherwise stay home. read more

Always love coming to this AMC. Usually there is never a line especially if you have purchased your ticket ahead of time. The lines at the concession stand aren't too bad either. This AMC location is the closest to me, and probably my favorite one. It's located inside Sugarloaf Mills near entrance number 4. I've been to this location multiple times and it's awesome. The best experience I've so far is when I went to see Avengers: Infinity War the opening night at Dolby Cinema. Dolby Cinema is so much better than IMAX. It features dramatically vibrant imaging, moving audio with breathtaking realism and reclining seats featuring seat rumblers that pulsate with the action. Lately I've been limiting my time at AMC. I just come when I feel like watching something on Dolby Cinema, other than that I just go to NCG or Venture. You can also join the Stubs program and you can earn point with every movie you watch, get free popcorn refills and $5 tickets every Tuesday. Since they've upgraded years ago, I enjoy it. The seats are comfy. The service is fairly fast when you order food or drinks at the bar. To top it all off it is connected to a mall so you can walk around before/after your movie. There's a lot to do at this mall and they're lucky to have such a great movie theatre. I feel the need to split this review into two sections: the movie experience and the concessions. Let's start with the latter first. CONCESSIONS: I get that movie theaters make the majority of their income from concessions. I understand the necessity there as well. They want to keep ticket prices down so they can make movies more accessible, but they still need to pay their staff. This is the solution. But, do you really need to gouge me worse than the Braves or Falcons and charge me $4.75 for a 20oz. bottle of water? That's just insane. Cheapest price for popcorn is $7.79 for a very VERY small bag. I will say, the $6.49 for pretzel nuggets was a seeming bargain, given that it came with the cheese dipping sauce and probably about 20 nuggets. But, that was probably the best deal there. I'm all for keeping theaters in business, but I have qualms with paying more there than at major sporting events for food and beverage. And honestly, I'd probably not have noticed too much were it not for the complete lack of energy by the staff. Thank goodness I arrived early and I wasn't in a rush to get to my seat, because the ONE PERSON who was working the actual 'cooking' portion was off to the side chatting with another employee there, just shooting the breeze, not even noticing the orders stacking up. Like... dude... nobody pays me to chat all day; why do you get that consideration? If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely eat before I show up. The cost and level of service just doesn't cut it, not by a long shot. (ONE STAR) MOVIE: The movie experience, fortunately, was much more positive. I really dug the online process, where you can choose your specific seat, pay in advance, and just show up with a code to scan. I walked right in, once I figured out the process. That would have been helpful, but with only one guy working up front, I suppose they're aiming for a more self-guided system. Again, instructions would have been nice. Also, the extra fees would have been nice... to NOT have. One ticket for a weeknight showing was $18.88 (with tax). Wow. Nearly 20 bucks for a movie. Maybe I'll just wait for the Blu-Ray. Okay, the seats were comfortable and they have power recliners. Love seats replace the traditional stadium seating. You can move the middle divider and snuggle up with your schmoopie-bear. I mean, it's a nice theater! The audio was impression, the screen was lovely, the resolution and video quality were top-notch. BUT 20 BUCKS FOR A TICKET? I think I overpaid. I've been to many cinemas around the country, and I don't think I've ever paid that much before. I've sat in the same seats, seen the same screens, heard the same audio, but it hasn't ever cost me this many bills. That might explain why the place was so empty. When I bought my ticket online, less than 90 minutes before showtime, I was the only one in the entire theater. Granted, another six or so patrons showed up in the end, but that's just not sustainable, even on a Wednesday. (THREE STARS) Well, it is what it is. I really enjoyed the film, and the cinema itself was pretty amazing. But, I can't justify that kind of cost for zero service, price-gouging at the concession stand, and employees that don't care about my business. Maybe I'll just watch a movie in the hotel next time. It would have been a LOT less expensive, and that's saying something! read more

The signature amc recliners theater with Dolby sound is amazing, the screen, video and audio quality is superb, they have speakers all over the ceiling and wall, the recliners have touchscreen buttonless controls, stadium seating format, but ultimately what matters is the quality of the sound and video and I was amazed at how good it was, this is on an outlet mall so there is plenty of parking and things to do before or after the movie, may end up coming here more, too bad is not a dine in theater, not all the screens have this format, I actually think only one of them have it so you have to make sure the movie you want to see is on that specific screen. read more

We saw John Wick 3 here and everytime someone got shot the sound would pulse through my chest. Lol. Not sure if this is safe for people with health problems. The parking lot is problematic especially on the weekends since it's in a mall. This theatre is out of the way for us but we still try to come here if we see a good movie is available with Dolby experience. They have pretty good matinee prices though. read more

I can't speak to the concessions because I ate before my movie, but I can speak to the actual movie experience at this particular theater. I went to a 7pm showing on a Tuesday evening, so it was not crowded at all. The seats are comfortable, yet my only real gripe is that they don't recline much. I've been to other AMC theaters with better and deeper recline angles. It did not ruin my experience. In fact, my experience was greatly enhanced because I opted to pay a little extra for the Dolby Cinema experience. I was not disappointed. If you don't know what the Dolby Cinema experience is, it's incredible picture quality and sound. At this particular theater, the screen resolution was beautiful. As for the sound...WOW! You literally feel the vibration in your seat. I personally think it's better than IMAX. I can't wait to see an action film like Avengers Endgame in Dolby Cinema. read more

2.5 stars. Here visiting family and decided to check out a movie. I brought the concessions so my review is basically regarding the concession. I heart AMC back home and expected the same quality of service and standards throughout. For a large bottle of Dasani water was $5.19 each ouch lol, nachos with cheese combo $14.19, and gourmet popcorn with cheese and hot Cheetos mix $10.49. Any who after spending $40 bucks on snacks the cashier didn't even ask if I was a stubs member and couldn't go back and add points to my membership which stunk. Been going to this AMC for years now. They've managed to renovate and upgrade it in the last couple of years and those upgrades have been greatly appreciated. Parking is in abundance since this theater is connected to Sugarloaf Mills Mall plus parking near the theater part of the mall also includes a deck for the busier days. You can also now reserve seats and order tickets through the app as a couple years ago you still couldn't reserve seats and had to wait in lines for popular movies if you wanted to get a great seat. The ticket line, however, is usually pretty quick if you drop in for a movie. The concessions line is also pretty quick and they have a separate line for A List members which also helps with the busier times. The theaters themselves are pretty clean always and the staff is attentive and helpful. I also recommend their Dolby Theater. It is as close to an IMAX experience as you're going to get as it includes better visuals and sound than the standard theater showing. It's only for select popular movies like Star Wars or Marvel but it's definitely worth the extra coins! This is a great theater and it's got great food and shopping around it, so you'll never go wrong here. read more

AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 is located at the gigantic Sugarloaf Mills shopping mall near I-85 and Sugarloaf Parkway (exit 108). This is a good theater that is often quite crowded, which is one of the main reasons I tend to stay away from this particular theater. Lots of families, lots of kids/teens. There are plenty of screens and the theater can open rather early, so the movie selection is good. AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 has two matinees: 1. $7.00 (adult) matinee runs from open to noon. 2. $9.75 (adult) matinee runs from noon to ~4:00pm. Regular adult tickets are $11.50. Non-matinee 3D movie tickets are $15.50 per adult. I'm not sure if they have IMAX at this theater. I want to say no. As with all movie theaters, the concessions are a huge rip-off. Glaring examples include a large popcorn and two large drinks for $20.00. Twenty. Dollars. I do have to say though, the large popcorn buckets and the large drink cups are enormous and refillable. Note: Unless you're doing a movie marathon, you probably won't be doing any refilling. Drinks are self-serve out of the Coke Freestyle machines, the touchscreen drink machines that offer you 100+ Coke products/flavors. It's hard to go wrong with that -- I love those machines. A large drink alone is $6.00. I've had my fair share of food and drink from this theater including the freshly popped popcorn as well as the chicken tenders ($7.75) and chicken sliders ($9.75). The more "entree-like" foods are served in disposable boxes with flip-tops. The chicken is reheated and salty and crispy. The kitchen is located directly behind the ordering counter so you can see everything being prepared while you wait. The chicken tenders come with a dipping sauce. The chicken sliders come with two sliders and a bunch of fries. Typical unhealthy fast food. The boxes for the food look nicer than Regal's plain boxes, but both theater brands' boxes serve their purpose in terms of functionality (holding greasy foods in your lap while watching a movie). Regal's boxes are a bit sturdier. As for the movie theaters themselves, they are fine. This theater opened in 2003, so it's not terribly old, but old enough to show signs of wear in various places. The picture and sound of the films is very good. The seats are wide, seatbacks are flexible, and the arms have cupholders and are retractable. On the downside, the seats are squeaky. This is a consistent problem among several, if not all, 18 screening rooms. The seats are also not as comfortable as comparable vintage Regal theaters (e.g. Regal Atlantic Station). Service is generally good. Polite staff. Parking deck is a plus, though the deck is not directly connected to the theater, so you still have to walk a bit in the rain if it's raining. In summary, AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 is a decent theater. I'd give it 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding down to a 3 because of the crowd. I realize it's not a fault of the theater, but it's still a determining factor when choosing which theater to go to. read more

All I can say is that I LOVE AMC THEATRES!! I'm very funny when it comes down to the theatre I go to. Because I'm a nacho extra cheese loads of jalapeno peppers type gal. And if that's not right I may never come back again. However! I will attend other's but you best believe I will eat before going or when I get there I will just get a soda maybe a small popcorn. But when I'm at a AMC, I can count on spending a total of $35 and that includes the ticket. And I have no problem with it. I love going to the movies!! Everyone who knows me well knows I'm a lover of the theaters and love to go often. This movie theater is by far is one of the best I've been to. First of all it is huge! Every time I walk up to the window I feel like I'm walking up to a place where there is a big celebration going on. The cashiers seem to all love what they do and if you haven't gotten your Stubs card as yet, please ask for one it is one of the best movie membership card saving program I've had experience with. And the best part is watching the cashiers excitement as they explain to you what it's all about. Each theater is so spacious, which means lots of room to spread out be comfortable. The seats are comfy and cozy, which makes for a nice date out with your SO. The sound is great, not too loud, too low, or imbalanced. There is a lot to choose from when it comes to the menu. One of my favorite beverages is tea (I know, who would have thought that one day we would be ordering tea at the movies) and the one I always go with is the Chi Green tea, really good. I usually go to the late night shows or weekdays so I never have problems with crowds. Sometimes that's disappointing because I like it when the theater is full but definitely not noisy. The last time we went hubby and I were in the whole theater with one other couple who were just as loud as they wanted to be. So it really doesn't matter if it's crowded or not, you're bound to run into obnoxious people anywhere. I was glad when they got up and left early after stating out loud (like we gave a damn) that the movie was boring to them. SMH! read more

My son and his friends went to watch Guardians of Ad at AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18, the 6:45 pm show when a young lady accused them of throwing something at her and management made them leave. This took place within the 1st 15 minutes of the start of the movie. The manager told them he did not need to review the cameras to verify that they did not throw anything and he threatened to call the police based off of the young lady's accusations, who is white, and this is a a group of black teens! I'm highly disappointed in the treatment they received and I have tried to reach out to the movie theater directly and I can not get an answer. The manager also refused to give them a refund and threatened to call the police with no fair grounds to do so! Other parents have been trying to reach out to the theater also, as we are all concerned with the treatment that our children received. This is very disappointing, especially as a long-term patron of AMC! That manager needs diversity and inclusion training and my son and his friends deserve a refund! read more

I've been here several times before, but I just never really reviewed it. I went here most recently this past Friday and saw Hercules with the date. I've mostly been a Regal person since theaters are closer to me, but AMC theaters are nice as well. Their theaters are pretty spacious and well kept. Movie quality wise, I think it's the same all around. Unless there was a shabby experience or wowing experience, it's pretty much the same to me. Although I have to admit that Regal does offer a mid-level movie option which is so much better in quality (picture and sound). Unsure if AMC offers this. I can't remember what this is call, and no, it's not IMAX. It's an option above the regular showings but quality would be right below IMAX. For the closest parking area, aim for the big deck area. I can't recall which neighborhood this is, but you'll see the big AMC letters as you approach. read more

Pros: They haven't converted to the lounge/recliner seating yet, so you don't have to choose your seat when you buy the ticket. I like having that choice. They have enough screens so that it is unlikely your movie will be completely sold out (assuming it is new / popular, and on a lot of screens). If you are early, you can easily kill time in one of the mall stores for a few minutes. Cons: Parking, while plentiful, is somewhat congested (in the mall lot). The excitement begins when you exit your vehicle and try to get to the mall entrance. The snack bar, when we occasionally use it, seems to have more of a wait than other places. read more

The theater is great and very clean. All the entrance staff are very friendly & seem to enjoy their jobs, making coming to this place a pleasant initial experience. However, the staff members that make the food are terrible. They work slowly & seem to not want to be there. They also seem very understaffed & don't seem to know what they're doing. -1 star for the food service The other -1 star is because the seats in the auditoriums are very old-fashioned & uncomfortable for the modern movie-viewing experience. Nice theater inside Sugarloaf Mills Mall. They have showings of current and new movies releases. 3D movies available with stadium seating. Selected theaters have reclining seats and assign seat booking online. However, you will pay a concession fee and a charge for these features. We pre booked online to see late night showing of Deadpool 2. Tickets for four people after concession fee, were just under $80. It was a little bit pricey but definitely worth the convenience if you are running late or on a time constraint, that way you don't have to stand around and wait in line to fight everyone for a decent seat. We showed up 5 minutes before the showing, skip the ticket line, and walked right up and showed the QR code on my phone and we're in! We grabbed our popcorn and drinks and went straight to our seats. The theaters with the reclining seats tend to be the ones that allow for seat selection beforehand. The chairs are much more comfortable than the usual and can lean back at different angles based on what you prefer. We come here often since they have multiple showings of each movie and have late night shows as well. I definitely recommend this theater. read more

I agree with Jose O. Average theater. I don't eat at movie theaters, so I cannot comment on the food choices, but I did spot the usual suspects (pop corn, soda, candy, and chicken fingers). We saw White House Down last night, around 10 p.m., which was shown on screen 16. When I walked in with bf and his cousin and his wife, I noticed that there was tons of garbage under the seats. Disgusting. And this was after one of the attendants outside told us that the theater had been cleaned. Yeah right. But it was dark and I decided I would just pretend that I hadn't seen anything. The seats were pretty comfortable. I enjoyed the experience, especially since it was with nice company. Nothing amazing but it was horrible. read more
