I come here often and I am usually satisfied. Food is good but way pricey (like all theaters, and I would never, never sneak in food ). Staff is fine and the theaters are kept clean. Not super busy but can be at peak times. So really this is a fine theatre. read more

Went to see Riddick here! If you sit in the very front row your seat reclines and there is an automatic foot rest, very nice! This AMC doesn't have matinees, not sure if that is a common thing here in Florida. The parking lot is normally full but there are a couple overflow lots around the corner. I like that you can reserve your seats when you buy your tickets. The movie theater was pretty clean when we watched a holiday movie. I didn't like that the lines were really long and employees didn't greet me when ordering from the concession stand. The area was not that clean when I ordered food, but I'm not sure if that was because of the holiday rush of Christmas or a normal thing. Self serve pop machine was a nice idea as you can mix your own beverage. read more

Great movie theater. The rewards program is great. The best part of the theater is that it's reserved seating. So no one can take your seat. Also the front row seats recline all the way back and are very comfortable. read more

The pricing is out of this world unheard of, we paid $32 for our tickets and $40 for very small portioned meals. When I called and asked for some type of accommodation the manager Anthony said there was nothing he could do. Never again. read more

Great theater but tough to find parking! The theater is part of a strip mall with other businesses (like ice cream parlor and hobby shop) so a parking spot is sometimes tough to find. The box office and the self-serve kiosks for ordering tickets are outside of the theater and therefore, not air conditioned while you wait in line. I like this AMC theater because you can select your seats online and since they are all numbered, you don't have to worry about someone sitting in the seat that you had selected. It's a nice sized theater. The seats are in good condition. The picture and sound quality of the movies are good as well. They have 2 food concession areas which is great especially if there's a super long line for the one by the lobby. One concession area in the front, right after the lobby area when you walk in, and another concessions further down where there's more theaters. They offer the standard AMC concessions like popcorn, pizza, hot dogs, etc. The soda machines are self-serve and are the Freestyle ones that have the many different soda flavorings to choose from. I would recommend going to this AMC theater due to assigned seating, 2 locations for concessions, and great picture/sound quality of the movies. read more

This place is OK, nothing special. The seats are medium comfy, I have seen better and worse. I was a bit disappointed in the IMAX presentation. The screen is the same size as the other theaters. I am used to a giant screen, 3 or 4 times the size of this one when watching in IMAX and paying the IMAX premium. read more

Have my eyes changed, what is going on here? Seems as for every theater we go to, the size of the consetion items is changing drastically...getting smaller and smaller. The prices not increasing considerably but the scale/size of things..hmmmm.. just not right. Been coming here for nearly 14 yrs, off and on...This location continues to need constant attention, the facilities are always in total disaster, missing towels, soap, cleaning.. I am just not sure they can keep up with the demand,, management really needs to take control, it can be done guys!, mean while, i will continue to drive west on highway 60 to that nice movie theater. :) read more

Courteous staff. Theater hot as hell. Have never been in such a hot theater and with vinyl seats it's unbearable. I even asked an employee to speak to a manger about it and there was no improvement. Popcorn is cold, not even lukewarm. I won't ever be back. I don't recommend you give it a shot. The only redeeming quality is the ability to reserve seats. read more

I frequent movies and I have three teenagers, so yes, I am here a lot. The theatre is fairly clean, however trash receptacles are everywhere for your convenience. Too bad the younger crowd doesn't use them. I came here as a teen myself. I enjoy the bar, one of the best amaretto sours I've ever had! But, it should be for the price! I am happy they changed the stubbs card so you get more discounts. Everything my family comes to the movies, we pay a small fortune. There is a young lady that normally works the ticket window in a motorized chair. What a sweet lady! You need to make her employee of the month, or year! I purposely go to her line when I can because she is friendly, polite, smiles, is genuine... she is customer service!!! My only complaint is the talkers in the theatre and of course, the prices. read more

This theater has been a staple for about 27 years of my life. I've always enjoyed coming to the movies here, I've watched it grow and change, expand over the years. A little slow at the concession (looked a little under staffed) however everything was still good. The theater was clean, the movie was crisp and my drink was cold the popcorn actually tasted fresh. The seats are comfortable along with arm rest that can be lifted. Over all good experience. read more

Waited in line outside in the cold for 20 minutes because there was only one girl working and a very long line. My boyfriend and I went because we wanted to see a movie before he ships off, a movie I saved for his last day here. Got to the front and surprisingly she asked for ID for this rated r movie. I had mine but It was a day I treated my boyfriend so he left his wallet at home. Although he is clearly over the age of 18 we were still denied tickets and essentially our night was ruined. The whole situation seemed irrational on her part as we have been to many "Rated R" movies without ID at this theater. It was even more irrational from my point of view because she didn't even scan my ID (sometimes at gas stations they need that to complete the purchase). I guess she just wanted to give us a hard time. read more

Went to see Draft Day. I hated the assigned seating. The automated kiosks didn't work, the concession line is ridiculous (along with the prices) The teenagers "working" there would rather horse around with each other rather than attend to the line. The theater was so hot. We were sweating. The movie and sound quality were poor and the seats were sticky. No thanks. I'd rather drive to Ybor than deal with this nasty theater again. read more

The staff at the concession stand is extremely rude. I went today at 1:25pm to see bob's burger movie, when I went to buy food instead of the guys saying that I needed to get a gift card to purchase food or that they were not taking cash today. A different worker deleted my order when I took out my cash and yelled" WE DON'T TAKE CASH". They never gave me the option to use my debit card at all. The only option I was given was to go and purchase a gift card. Another lady heard and advised that when her and her family went to the concession stand that they were told card only and not forced to buy a gift card. I am African American and the lady and her family were Caucasian, I feel that because of my race and since I look younger than my age they felt they could talk to me anyway they wanted. Other customers who were there apologized to me for being treated that way today but the employees did not. I will never ever go to this movie theater again as long as they are still working there. I refuse to send my hardworking money any place that I am not respected. I have worked in customer service for 9 years so I know how I should be treated. read more

We came to an early movie with our 4 yr old son. This was our first experience with this AMC location with him and our first time to this location in almost 15 years. When bought our tickets for theatre 5 outside at the front. We needed to select which seats we wanted which we appreciated as it was a busy movie. Upon entering my husband and I had the same reaction. This is an old theatre where they have made some adjustments to update, but are missing the mark with the final step. They have a freestyle soda machine, they reupholstered the seats with "leather like" material, and added in seat numbers. The numbers are not illuminated and very difficult to see. Most people used their phone lights to find their seat. The movie was to start at 10:30. We arrived at 10. The screen was black no pre-previews. At 10:30, still nothing. At 10:40 another moviegoer went to alert someone the movie had not started. It was a theatre full of kids after all and patience was not high. At 10:47 the movie started. Zero previews were shown and TBH this is one of my favorite parts of going to a movie. There was never an explanation or reason why this happened. The seats having "leather" was not fun in the height of summer where folks where shorts. Needless to say, we probably will not return to this theatre. It just does not hold a candle to others in the area. read more

I chose a reclining seat in the front. I used the light on my phone before the trailers started to look at the cleanliness of the seat. I found grease smeared all over the seat controls for reclining. I also found this white hardened gook in the seat of the chair. There was popcorn in the seat next to mine. It was very obvious that these seats were not being cleaned properly. I asked the manager for assistance in getting my chair cleaned. I waited and waited and nobody came and eventually the manager shows up with a free pass. He refused to clean the seat. He said the grease on the controls was cleaning fluid. He told me to sit anywhere and I said I would expect all seats were dirty. He told me he had to leave and that I could just leave with my free pass. He could have cared less and thought a free pass was his pass to avoid this nasty cleanup which is just a reflection of his poor managerial skills and inattentive behavior toward the cleanliness of the AMC theater during Covid. Your increase in ticket price for cleaning does not apply to general cleaning obviously. read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would. There was an employee mopping the floor in the middle of the previews because some one sticking to the floor. We paid 16.00 for a popcorn and drink and the popcorn was chewy and mostly kernels. But it wasn't only the movie theater that is disgusting. Ut the town of Brandon sucks! We had a baby in front of us and one behind us. Get a babysitter people. Also AMC have some restrictions. This place is the worst! read more

After waiting in line for 10 minutes to buy a ticket, we then waited a long time in line for popcorn-which I am still doing now and my movie began 15 minutes ago. Four people are working behind the counter so I am unsure what the hold-up is. Where is management? Systems are not in place and customer satisfaction does not seem like a priority. Wow...40 minute wait to buy tickets at 11:30am just to see a matinee. Then, upon mentioning it the "supervisor type" inside he had a swift, condescending attitude. Basically told me to like it or leave. He did say, "there are other theaters showing this movie that might suit you better". What a comment. This place needs so much work for cleanliness to management change. I honestly don;t expect this place to be open much longer. This location makes AMC look like the KMart of movie chains no doubt. read more

*disclaimer, i used to work there*. This theatre works so hard to make sure the guests are taken care of, but all most of them do is complain. Oh no the lobby is dirty on a busy Saturday of a sold out blockbuster movie opening! The lines are too long for a movie I showed up late for! Pay attention to your surroundings and see how busy it is. If we focused on cleaning while busy then there would be complaints we weren't serving fast enough or vice versa. Once it slows down we fix the messes. We can't just magically hire more employees due to budgets and unqualified applicants. That is how any business works. We don't set prices and most promotions or special lines for Stubs members who pay are rolled out by our corporate office and we have no control over. So complaining to us doesn't help because we sometimes feel the same way but have to deal with it. So give the staff credit for working so hard and realize just because it's a movie theatre does not mean it's easy. read more

I love AMC Regency 20 and am a premiere club member. With Hurricane Irma coming through and wiping out our power, we saw that AMC had a deal for $5 movies on Tuesdays and $5 combos. However, a coupon had to be downloaded for the $5 combo, so we could not produce the coupon because our internet is out and we didn't download the darn thing. Concessions would not let us take advantage of the deal. This was the icing on the cake! Not only were they limited to the movies they were showing-we had to watch a movie we had already viewed (we gladly paid to watch it again)-but they wouldn't give us a break on the concessions! Bad form AMC! It may be awhile before we go back...will definitely give Cobb a try. read more

Good theatre. Love that you can pick your seats! Very comfortable recliners up front and have had no problems with loud kids and such. The parking is a little wonky but most movie theatres parking is. The overall cleanliness is just okay but to be expected from a busy theatre. I give it a solid 4. read more

Four of us went to see a movie Sunday night (at least a week after it premiered and arrived an hour early). According to the box office assigned seating chart, there were only a few seats left in the theater, but they were in the front row. We ultimately had to split up and two of us saw another movie, which was inconvenient and detracted from the night out together we had wanted. However, we discovered that though the seats were all "taken" the theater was relatively empty, so we missed out on seeing a movie together for nothing. Other assigned seating woes include: being stuck behind someone tall enough to block your view, being stuck next to a cell phone offender or upset little one, and needing to make plans much farther in advance just to enjoy the same experience as as going to a theater without assigned seating. They told us that they were going to put in a restaurant (you would order food during the movie) which is why they started the assigned seating thing - don't think this is a great idea because aside from the obvious disruption this will cause when you're trying to see the movie, this theater is dirty. Like, DIRTY. Smelly bathrooms, popcorn, trash, gum and sticky handprints on every surface - makes you feel like smuggling in a can of lysol instead of snacks. I wouldn't be comfortable eating a meal there. If they did a thorough cleaning of the place and ditched the assigned seats, this theater would be great. As it is, it isn't worth the money at all. Really disappointed since we really like seeing movies in the theater. read more

This should be easy... This theater s**ks! The only reason this theater does much business is because of the location and lack of competition. It's needed a facelift for years now, the last time it had an update was in like '94. It's a good hang out for the hoodlums though, so if you count yourself among that crowd, this is the spot for you! The back concession is always closed, and they never have any of the toppings for your popcorn. My girl and I recently caught a flick here for our 'date night' anniversary and the evening ended with a creeper sliding his hand on her leg... He kept jumping seats in a 98% empty theater until he was right next to her with one seat in between, and had his hand stretched across the empty seat next to/on my girls leg. Unfortunately she didn't tell me this right away for fear of a scene in the theater, but we reported the incident and the girl at the counter said it's happened before SO BEWARE LADIES! I also mentioned it on facebook and a friend of ours said she had the same thing happen. Bottom line the prices have gotten to be ridiculous for a night out at the movies and until this theater does some housecleaning and gets a much needed update, we won't be back... read more

Horrible place. No matter what face-lift you give this theater will continue to have the same tired run down staff that are part of the problem.... At this AMC theaters, they cater to ghetto behind delinquents that are never accompanied by an adult. According to my students they love this location, because they can just hang out in the court yard. To make matters worse...if the kids get kicked out of the theater management refunds their money. I complained about a pair of juveniles sitting at out seats....instead of staff removing them from the seats (since they were in the wrong) they offered my party a refund. Can you believe that..... Not to worry AMC....we found a new kid free adult theater....it's called Xscape.... This theater deserves a ZERO STAR rating!!! read more

The new RSVP seating is terrible! It makes the wait time in line so much longer as people try to decide which seat they want. And when you are meeting friends everyone has to wait outside to buy tickets together instead of meeting inside the theatre. read more

I only go here because it is closest to home. Here is why it's not my favorite: 1. Loud, screaming noisy high schoolers or people who talk/comment throughout the entire movie if you go to any movie after 4pm (Fri and Sat are the worst) 2. To 2nd Katrina's review - It's awkward to get to. The parking lot is poorly laid out and scary if walking to your car at night (if parked on the shopping side). 3. The theatre is usually only halfway cleaned upon entering. Bathrooms are a near hazmat experience. I always want to bathe in germX after I leave. 4. Snacks are expensive to add to the already escalating cost of the movie it self. Bring your own ;) ++ Kudos that they have upgraded to the new awesome coke machines - but it made for a terrible wait (10 minutes) for the people in front of me to decide what combonation/flavors they want to try and pour all the tests that they didn't like out and pick something else(repeat x5). 5. AVOID THEATRE 17 AT ALL COST. It is old and desperately in need of a remodel. Every single chair I tried was broken and I left with a backache(and I'm a healthy fit in my 20's). Sadly they still put new releases in this theatre. The OK's: There are some theatres that are new and are much nicer. I've never had bad customer service interaction from the employees. It does seems like they're slowly working on getting the theatre up to speed (renovations). Sorry AMC. Perhaps a future visit will earn you guys some more stars. read more

They do not do matinee prices, VERY SMALL, and I am seeing a new movie, "Into The Storm". The movie was supposed to start at 1:45 and it dud not start until 2:10pm! Now the good. Regency has been around for awhile, but it's still a decent place to see a movie. They have no power over the exorbitant price of snacks, but they certainly demonstrate great customer service and a clean and attractive area for purchase of tasty popcorn, hotdogs, etc. and cold drinks. I love the $5 movies on Tuesday. What a bargain! Theaters are clean and tidy, good sound and projection quality. All in all a very positive experience! read more

I've been a Brandon resident for most of my life and at one time this theater was great. Now I am worried about coming out of the theater at night because of all of the people standing around, goofing off and generally up to no good. When you see 5 to 6 deputies you know there's a problem. Anyway, this last vist was tame and not that bad. This movie theater is pretty average, looks kind of old from the outside. It's located in a busy parking lot that can get hectic on the weekends. They just added a small bar, which is pretty cool and I think they upgraded the seats into comfier ones. You can also pick your seats now too, which saves the hassle of searching for seats. read more
