I brought my own ball and was not able to use due to the machine, popping it up and messing it up so I was asked to not use it. Then we had to change lanes because they couldn't put the bumpers down. Then I asked for consideration because our points are off due to them counting a pin when we throw a gutter ball. It was a mess first time ever and I will never be back again. I stopped in for a drink and small bite to getaway from a kid's birthday party across the way at Sky Zone. It was a Saturday afternoon and was not busy, despite having happy pricing on drinks. The bartender was kind and patient with my ordering, the bar was comfortable and had good viewing of MLB baseball games, and the food and drink hit the spot. I had their Spicy Shrimp, but it was not very spicy. The dish was as good because bacon+shrimp+jalapeño is always good combination, but the sweet and spicy sauce was overpowering the whole dish. It would be better if the sauce was served on the side. But I am glad I tried it and would recommend for anyone wanting a small bite. It was nice to get away from the madness of Sky Zone and relax a little. Highly recommend this place if you want to watch sports and have a good drink. read more

Usually when you go to a sports bar, you just want big TVs and decent beer but this place actually has fantastic food, good wine, and a great selection of signature mixed drinks. Our wonderful server was able to do separate checks for our large party, and she kept our glasses refilled constantly despite the fact that the place was packed for the Super Bowl. They have a great deal on a bento with sushi, miso soup and edamame. My companion loved her chicken fingers and I loved the ahi tuna sashimi. Then everyone ordered the amazing warm brownie with ice cream, whipped cream and a very unique caramel sauce. The cabernet is tasty and the pours are large. Plenty of TVs so everyone can see well. The only caveat is this place is hard to find, so if you park by the Petco on one end or the Starbucks on the other, you have to make your way through the open mall area past the fountain and it's tucked away between the post office and the movie theater. What is unusual is that I was charged $23.95 for the drink, because it was "custom" (2 shots - the whiskey and the amaro). I can't believe it's taken me this long to leave a review. For many years, I walked past barely noticing Sunset Terrace. Then one day, while my kids were busy jumping at the trampoline place across from it, I stopped in for a drink and quite bite. I was pleasantly surprised. Later my kids happily joined me. It's not an upscale restaurant, it's a place you go to have good, inexpensive drinks and surprisingly good food in a relaxed atmosphere. It's good sized sports bar with dozens of giant screens, pool tables, and all that you'd expect. It's also very kid and family friendly without being a kid place. What makes it different is the quality of the food and the waitstaff, who are all wonderful. They've got a good bar, don't cheap out on the pours, and don't overcharge for anything. Moreover, most of the items on the menu are very good, from the normal bar fare like great burgers and fried foods to more surprising options you wouldn't expect like fresh, tasty salads, chicken and waffles, and chicken parm. Sunday is the best day for food, since they have excellent smoked meats to rival or exceed any BBQ around (made smoked by one of the owners who knows his stuff), top-notch chili fries, and specials on drinks. I'm not a fish taco guy, but my wife and friends swear they are some of the best they've ever had. Their desserts are also a big surprise, with dynamite crème brûlée and butter cake. Another really unique aspect is that they have an incredible 4-lane bowling alley. This is so weirdly magnificent. When you're in the bar, you can't hear it at all and might never know it's there. You can play for hour and enjoy drinks, or you can rent the whole thing out for parties and events. Overall, it's just a great place to go to eat, drink and have a good time. read more

This was my first time coming to this city and i am so happy that we came here. I took my bf for his bday for ufc fight, and this was really a 1 stop type of bar. They have tv's everywhere, bowling alley on 1 side and pool tables on the bar side. It was pretty crowded on Saturday due to the Ufc fight, but Tyrone was awesome. He made sure our seats were in a perfect area. The booth we had was right in the middle where we could see the tv's. He also had great customer service skills. I enjoyed Sean, our waiter he made sure to get us taken care of as soon as we sat down. As for the food, i would say eas decent, but the drinks were on point. I would recommend the pizza , miso soup, and drinks. Sunset Terrace wasn't what I expected but I left satisfied knowing they had solid cocktails, cheap food, and a relaxed environment. Sunset terrace was a little challenging for us to find at the Janns Mall. Our navigation had us all over the place but I think that's because the Janns mall is a little more unique as it's kind of styled like an outlet where you can't see all of the shops from the main parking lot. We did eventually find it and walked inside but struggled to grasp the concept. When you walk in it's just kind of an open floor plan with no host or guide to seat you. Maybe this is only at night? But it was darker inside and we really didn't know where to go. There were open tables, booths, and a bar. We walked around the place in a giant circle and kinda got the vibe that you just seat yourself so we did, at the bar as that seemed like a safe bet. Once we got the awkwardness out of the way after a few minutes one of the female bartenders greeted us and gave us menus. Service was very relaxed and naturally friendly. Not overly engaging or attentive but for a dive Janns mall restaurant bar it was sufficient. I also gathered it's a lot of locals so maybe we also just seemed out of place. Felt like we were kind of just left to our own but that isn't bad either. No frills kind of place and the service was fine. The reason i happily give this spot 4 stars is the nightly happy hour themed food and drinks are killer. Super reasonably priced drinks and food. We came on taco Tuesday and it was legit. The taco choices were Asada, chicken, fried/grilled fish. They didn't seem to mind us not getting three of the same kind so my friend and I each did the three taco deal with 2 Asada and 1 fried fish. These little tacos were fantastic. Like dive bar fantastic but that's all we expected and wanted! Tasty and a nice little side of chips and salsa. On the Tuesday night happy hour special my friend got their classic house margarita and for about a dollar more I got a peach margarita. The drinks were perfect not too strong, but not weak with good flavor. When we got our checks our bill was about $11 each. Seriously people how can you beat this?! Three tacos, chips, and a cocktail for that price?! You can't even get fast food for less then that nowadays. We were thrilled and get the allure of the place now. The vibes are causal as like I said there are a lot of locals and just single people sitting at the bar for a quick bite or to watch a sports game. They also had a couple pool tables in the back for groups which was nice as it kept one part of the bar livelier then the other which was perfect for us just wanting to talk at the bar and have a low key meal. If you want a good priced meal and fun cocktails this is your place. Not Instagram worthy per day but definitely doesn't break the bank. They have a really extensive menu of appetizers, sushi, American food, and cocktails that you can easily please anyone in your party. Went in one night with my boyfriend and as we were walking to the upstairs part, a security guard stepped in front of me and rudely asked for our IDs. I've never gotten ID'd unless i'm ordering a drink. We start to pull out our ID's and he's standing there arms crossed with a super irritated look. I could tell he thought i looked younger than 21 (even though im not) and that might have been why he was so rude. I'm trying to get out my ID while I felt so unwelcome. My family went been there for football all of the 2023/24 season. The staff there is best. We would come in only on sundays and by the third time they knew our order. We loved this place so much and we hosted my son's bar mitzvah on Star Wars day in the bowling alley/restaurant area. It was one of the best parties of the season. The entire shopping complex area has a lot of other great options too, so it's fun to go there to get a drink and then go somewhere else for a snack afterwards the food there is pretty good. I really like the Monday special and the Tuesday taco special the tacos are surprisingly good considering this is a Mexican restaurant and it's a great value. The markers are also pretty delicious. What's the same principle of them being really good for the price and I also like the piña colada that you can get there on Monday unfortunately they won't make their drinks nonalcoholic which means that not everybody can partake there cause I know there are a lot of people now who don't drink, including people in my Immediate party. I've had great servers there and medium servers, but never a bad experience and the food comes out really quickly. read more

While the food is not the best I've ever had, they have some pretty good options here that I've gotten multiple times. Great beer-battered chicken breast strips. For like $12, you get four huge chicken breast strips, and these are delicious. They also have great nachos and fish tacos. Some of the other items we've ordered have been hit or miss depending on the night, but these three have always been a hit for us. They also have great daily specials. Bartenders here are also wonderful and make good drinks. Atmosphere is always super lively at night with good music. They also have a few pool tables, which are always popular. They have specials Monday-Thursday for food and drinks. Plus, you can play pool, bowl, and more. It's also family friendly. Service is always great from the waiters, managers/owners. Food was ok, not great but really you can't expect much... service was fine. I really wish someone would take over and renovate this place, the smell hits you right when you walk in. It's like a dark, stuffy sports bar with sticky floors, nothing special about their drinks, a weird theme where it has intimate booths with curtains, lounges and an odd tropical Buddhist outdoor seating area and a bizarre menu featuring classic bar food and then... sushi?! Which I would never allow my family to eat from a place like this. It's a fun place to watch the fights or games, and to play pool but this place has so much potential I wish someone would just come in and clean it up a bit, and get a real menu with actually good food. 3 stars were for service and for the food not giving us food poisoning but if you're coming here to eat, I do not recommend. It's a large almost club size restaurant and bar. There's decent food, especially for a bar with such a large menu. The drinks were strong, probably too strong but maybe I'm just a lightweight nowadays. They have a happy hour so I tried couple unique sounding drinks, like some type of pomegranate mojito, and a flavored margarita, or something along those lines that tasted pretty good. The service was fast and friendly, never needing to flag down a bartender or wait too long for food. I ended the night with a late night massive burger that left me in a food coma. Sunset Terrace has been my "go to" sports bar for over 10 years. I usually go 3 times a week and from 3 -7 pm during the weekdays they have the best happy hour in Thousand Oaks. (Drinks-50% off /Food-25% off) The crowd is mostly locals who welcome newbies and make them feel right at home. The bartenders are friendly and efficient, they have plenty of pool tables and big screen TVs and I rate their food a #10. The security guard is friendly and I have never seen a fight there.
