The family prefers this theatre as it has the best comfy full reclining seats in the area. Tons of space and nice trays at each seat with cup holders. So, we tend to check if seats are available here first and then will check at Tysons Corner Mall or RTC. You can reserve seats and it is very convenient. Another big surprise- the kids love the chicken tenders here. And they are quite tasty. So, we decide to watch a movie this past weekend and we end up in theatre 7. The theatre is quite full and approximately 3/4 of the way in it gets uncomfortably hot to the point I am sitting there with my sleeves rolled up as well as my sweatpants. I usually hate leaving the theater mid-movie bit couldn't take it and walked out to make Mgmt aware. I don't go back to my seat next to my son as I don't want to feel anybody's body heat near me so I sit in the back in the handicapped seats. When the movie ends the kids and wife agree with me that it was very uncomfortable. I go complain and the Mgr comes by. He tells me there is an issue in that theatre and proceeds to give us 4 free passes! Now that is good customer service! Not happy that a theatre could be that warm, however, Mgmt did the right thing by compensating us for it. We will keep coming back to enjoy the comfy seats. read more

I'm only giving a 2 for the lower ticket prices. We used to go to this theater frequently, and we liked it very much. The last few times it's been filthy and there's a mildew smell in the auditoriums. They have so few staff we've actually gone into theaters without anyone scanning our tickets. Snack bar is exorbitant (like all theaters), shows a very extensive menu, but actually has only popcorn and soda. I think they must be going out of business. read more

We went to see a movie at 7pm on a Tuesday night, the staff seemed caught completely off guard that they work in a movie theater. They did not have popcorn, they did not have pretzels, they did not have a working icee machine and judging by the filthy floors, they did not have vacuums or brooms. I visited this theater for the first time a few days ago. There's a spacious parking lot the movie theater it is in a multilevel strip mall which they share parking with other businesses, but there are plenty of spaces. You actually enter in a small mall entrance before actually going into the theater entrance, which is large and very spacious. There is a huge counter for refreshments very long, and I must say the refreshments are reasonably priced. Upon entering the theater after walking down the hallway, I started to notice small particles of paper, and just various trash not bad, but not exactly what I was expecting once inside the theater it was a little cleaner, but not much. The chairs are truly comfortable full lounge capability, and trays that swivel for your refreshments and drinks complete with cupholders. Picture quality and volume are very good. The bathrooms are average as far as cleanliness. read more

We went to see the noon showing of the Barbie movie over the weekend. The experience was far from Barbie-esque. The floor in front of the concession stand was so sticky! You could hear everyone walking as with every step they lifted their feet and their shoes were stuck to the floor. The manager made a brief appearance with a broom and dust pan, but they clearly needed hot soapy water and a mop instead! Also, the restrooms were in horrible condition. They had clearly not been cleaned in a long, long time. One of the women restrooms was taped closed (condemned), and one of the men's rooms exit door no longer has a handle to pull to be able to get out. If nobody else was coming in, you can actually be stuck in the gross restroom. And many of the theater seats have large rips in them. When you pre-pay for tickets, and get reserved seats, you would like to have confidence that you are not going to be sitting in a rat's nest of a seat! I don't think I have ever seen a theater in worse condition. My recommendation is to go to a different movie theater. read more

It offers all the standard Coca-Cola brand choices, plus caffeine-free and lots of diet options, as well as teas and Powerade options. Ok. So this was my first time going to the movies since before Covid. The movie itself was fantastic! I saw Cruella. However, the movie theater left something to be desired as far as cleanliness. The trays that you use at your seat were dirty and sticky. Like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. My friend, who I went to the movies with asked the cashier for some wet napkins to clean off the tray. When she was finished cleaning off the tray the napkins were black from the dirt and grime. She went out of the theater to show the cashier at the concession stands and the cashier gave her some Clorox wipes to use. I don't know if they were short staffed or just didn't have enough time to clean the night before but it was pretty gross. Hopefully the next time I go the theater gets a regular read more

Went yesterday, Memorial Day, with my wife. We went to the snack bar and asked for a number 2 (popcorn and a drink). The guy working there turned to stare at the sign for a while before saying, "we don't have that." After clarifying that they didn't have popcorn, we settled for just the $8 drink. I was handed the cup and walked to the fountains where I discovered that they were out of ice. My wife and I laughed and asked each other "what next?" At that time, an older woman walked up to us and asked in a combative tone, "do you have a question?!" My wife explained that the popcorn machine was broken, the ice machine was broken, then jokingly asked "is anything working?" The woman angrily replied, "Nope!" AMC had me at recliner seats! Seats are wide with lots of cushion and room to stretch and each seat has its own tray table. I enjoy this theater as its always clean and staff is friendly. Its usually not too crowded except friday and saturday nights of course. Concession lines are quick and painless and there is even a bar on site. There are many dining options in the shopping plaza like Turkish, Mexican, Thai and American cuisine as well as Starbucks, Panera and Cold Stone. Plenty of free parking available in front of the theater and restaurants as well as below ground in the garage. I only wish they had late movie shows like AMC Tysons does. read more

I love WorldGate AMC after their upgrade. The reclining seats make the movie enjoyable. I also enjoy the fact I can pick my assigned seats ahead of time. So one bonus is to buy your tickets and show up about 20 minutes after the movie is scheduled to start. This allows you to skip previews and commercials before the movie starts. Also to be noted their is plenty of parking below in the garage if you cant find a spot above ground. read more

My wife and I now have a new favorite spot to watch movies in town even though it is a bit of a haul from our house to get there. I find the theaters to be quite comfortable and convenient with their power leather reclining seats and tray table. I like being able to reserve seats in advance as well to avoid going to a showing where I'll end up towards the front craning my neck to view the movie. I have sat as close as row C here with no problems. Before finding our seats, we also hit their nice bar in the corner for a draft beer. Prices are not outrageous (unlike popcorn) and you have two sizes to pick from. The 24oz gets me nicely through a movie. Of course, you can take it to your seat but we had to ask the first time thinking there might be some squirrelly rule against it. Their bar tender was quite friendly and we chatted a bit about the current movies and what we liked. Their snack bar is fine but nothing really different there. The popcorn was fresh and just as pricey as elsewhere. We joined their frequent guest club (Stubs?) to earn points for future discounts. Seems like an OK deal for $12/yr if you go to a movie or two a month like we do. read more

I love this place!!!!!! This place is a hidden gem, as it is in a shopping center with just an AMC sign to locate it. Not the biggest movie theater in general but I think that each theater room is a pretty good size. Screen stretches across the entire wall - but best of all is of course the seats. Seats are very comfortable and can recline to basically until you're lying down. I like how although the seats are lined up in rows, they are paired up so if you are a couple, it doesn't feel like everyone's just lying down together. The adjustable trays on each chair makes reaching your food/drink lying down or sitting up convenient. Another plus is that when you buy your ticket, you can reserve the seats that you will be sitting in. Unfortunately, it is not possible to buy tickets for this theater online. Also, on Thursdays, they have a students special of $9.25 which is great! After going to this movie theater I don't think I ever want to go to any "normal" seating theater ever again. read more

Yes, the drinks and snacks will be expensive, but if you've ever been to an AMC anywhere in the country before, that should be no surprise to say the least. Will definitely be back. When I first purchased my home in Herndon in 2009, I watched my first movie in the new city at this theater and was disappointed. It was shocking to me that in 2009 there still existed any theaters that didn't have stadium/bucket type seating. Fast forward to 2014. I watched the newest X-men movie here two nights ago and was completely blown away. Two words: Recliner Seats. Yes, seats that recline. And no, I'm not talking about being able to lean back against your seat back and shift a couple inches like the seats on an airplane. I'm talking about electronic seats that you can adjust to go to anything from a normal upright position to a completely horizontal reclined seat almost like a bed. Hands down, these are the most comfortable movie theater seats I have ever sat in. Add to that the fact that when you purchase your seats (either in person or online), you get to reserve your actual seat...and that just makes the whole process even better. No more worrying about getting to the theater 30 minutes early so you don't end up in the front or last row. No more worrying about fighting an angry soccer mom and her bratty kids because you're trying to hold 8 seats for you and your less punctual friends. In an age where there's bigger, nicer, new theaters everywhere, Worldgate has somehow managed to give itself a competitive edge and due to its convenient location, I will surely find myself watching another movie here again soon. read more

I've been going to this movie theater for years now. It used to be good, but not anymore. First off, they removed culture movies. Most of their Asian customers stopped coming here because they removed movies made by South Asian and Ethiopian directors. Majority of this AMC's customers are South Asians. Second, their food and form of payment. The last 3 times I've been to this theater, they had no popcorn or hot foods, only candy which costs triple the price its supposed to. I wanted to buy M&Ms with cash but apparently they don't take cash. I had to use my 20 dollars to buy a gift card and then use that gift card to buy the candy. What's the point in not taking cash for food if you take cash for a gift card?? Third and finally, the service. I don't know who AMC is hiring, but they should reconsider their staff at worldgate. The staff here would just lack off not paying attention to the customers at all. When I was buying those M&Ms I mentioned, the worker just left when I was about to pay. I had to call one of her co-workers to the checkout place. Most the workers just looked annoyed at everyone as well. They were very passive aggressive towards me and my friends when we were buying our tickets and food. We ended up going to the wrong side of the theater and they looked like disappointed parents. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here. Go to a different amc, if not then cinemark or imax. Thank you AMC Worldgate for an ass experience!! Extra- The fire alarm went off once when I was watching toy story 4 and the audience missed half the movie. read more

I totally skipped lunch because I planned on getting food/ snack from the concession. The lady told me I am not allowed to do that. I will have to eat my food outside. I asked the attendant for coffee, his response was "well we do sell it, but it takes a while to make" confused, but I clearly knew I was asking for too much. So, I asked him if I could run out and get a coffee. No.... we don't allow outside food or drinks. Trying to find a clean seat that wasn't torn was a challenge, luckily we were the only ones in the theater. Then the cleaning staff came in, no idea why she waited until the movie was about to start and occupied by patrons to decide to clean... Most likely will not be coming back to this location after seeing the condition of this place tonight. Walked up to the entrance to see the gates pulled 3/4 closed at 8:00 pm. Honestly gave me the impression that the entire place was closed. After walking a little further I could see that the interior box office was open. Waited 15 minutes in line to order a drink and popcorn. I ordered from the child behind the service stand. Ordered a regular popcorn then the employee proceeded to tell me that they only sell one size and it was the large size... stood there reluctant to ask why when I could clearly see that there are several sizes on the menu... I just wanted to finish the uncomfortable transaction and get to my seat. Feeling a bit swindled, I went to go fill up my drink and waited in another line because there was pure panic because there was no ice or fountains syrup in the three coke machines. The entire drink station looked like it hadn't been clean in a while. Filth and unsanitary is all I can use to describe the condition of this place.There is clearly a NO signs management and zero cleaning standards or practices going on because this place was absolutely disgusting. A very nice AMC theater. If your not in a rush have a drink, not soda but alcoholic drink but you do need your id to get it. The parking in this mall is so crazy it's pathetic. Just look for the ramp and park underground the ones outside are meant for the restaurants on the outside. Only draw back is the seats of this theater, the food table is always put instead of tucked away ub the seats. Only one word can describe this, uncomfortable. Went there with a friend on 9/6 and have to say it was pretty disappointing compared to my past visits. Outrageously priced. Between 2 senior tickets and 2 bags of med popcorn it was almost $40! Also, the tray tables were filthy. Luckily I carry a package of Clorox wipes in my purse and wiped down our tray tables. When this place was renovated several years ago it was so nice so whoever the manager is needs to give this place a good cleaning and needs to repair the torn leather on some of the seats plus they need to make sure their popcorn is fresh. For what they charge and for the fact we're still in a pandemic there's no excuse to not have a CLEAN theater (which means clean tray tables, cup holders and repaired seating). This theater is in need of new management. I went with my family to see a movie this weekend. I bought my tickets in advance using the AMC app. Once we arrived to the theater, everything seemed unorganized. There were two lines with people standing in them. Nobody knew exactly which line was to get concessions and which line was to show your ticket pass. A lot of confusion for people there. The bar that severed alcohol had no one tending it. They lost out on a lot of money from people that wanted to get an adult beverage. The concessions weren't doing much better. Everything people tried to order was out. All they had ready to serve were bottled juices. The soda, popcorn, and several other snacks were gone. The staff was not friendly either. A lady asked about bringing in outside food because she could get anything in the theater. A theater worker gave the lady a sly remark as if the costumer was wrong for asking at this point. Fortunately, I brought several snacks and a water from home for the movie. Upon taking my seat, a teenager sitting near me couldn't get their seat to recline. I am guessing the power motor broke or something. After the movie ended, the front entrance was gated and everyone had to leave through a side exit door. It seemed strange because it was only 8:30pm when the film ended. The overall experience was disappointing. The theater didn't seem to have any management. I wouldn't recommend moviegoers to this theater. read more

Frustrating experience today. Arrived at 1215pm for a 1230pm show. Tickets were purchased ahead of time from AMC website. Theater was closed and two employees were sitting and waiting. They stated that the manager was not there (approximately 2 hours late) and had no way of contacting them. My thoughts... manager could have gotten into a car accident or could just have overslept. Happens to the best of us! What was disappointing was no Plan B. The employees had no contact number or any way to touch base with their management. There was no way to contact a human/phone number on AMC website. We waited a bit, but decided to leave once it was clear we wouldn't get into the theater on time. My son and I found another showing at 130pm at Fairfax Corner. I made the decision to leave and come back later for refund. When I returned to AMC Worldgate at 4pm, I was told that they could issue a refund. When they went to issue it they could only refund the cost of the tickets, not the $5 online service fee. I told them I wanted the entire refund as I was there on time and it was not my actions that caused me to miss the movie. The employee wasn't able to give me the refund (it appeared that the system wouldn't allow it). I attempted to request a refund through their website (gave me an error message/try again later) and Facebook page (no response). The employees were polite but not very helpful. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told to contact the company through the website (that didn't work) or that I should just dispute it with my credit card. It's only $23 and I doubt I'll get it back, but after this experience I will never go to an AMC ever again. read more

Everytime I go to see a movie this is my go to spot. Its usually not too crowded and has very comfortable recliner seats. Sometimes I wish they had later premier times for certain movies but apart from that its a great theater. This is to be expected since AMC is one of the best when it comes to movie theatres, but this location is very convenient and comfortable. I do advise that as a tip you bring a blanket with you since sometimes it can get cold. If you are taking your significant other theres great news because the seats are paired together and you can take the barrier out from the middle. Great for cuddles and a warmer experience since as I said sometimes it can get cold in the theater. I probably dont have to tell you much about food pricing since its the same at almost every theater but AMC has the Bavarian pretzel which is pretty cool to share with the family since its huge! Overall, Its in a very convenient location with a coldstone next to it and TGI fridays and other restaraunts to go to after the movie. read more

Antoni AMC worldgate is my most favorite theater. Ever! I visit Family in Herndon often and we always make it a point to see a movie here. It feels family owned (is AMC a franchise?) and def has a warm fuzzy feeling to it. The entire staff is always so sweet.
