Since I drove 2/1/2 hours to see the car I didn't know a local mechanic. Before the trip Jose assured me nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I trailered the car home the first night the car alarm was triggered multiple times. I took the car to a Land Rover mechanic the next morning. He said the car should have never passed inspection. He found the rear door latch was bad, someone wedged a piece of metal in the hood latch to keep that sensor from tripping. The vehicle had been wrecked and not reported and the front sensor was damaged. So far I am out of pocket $1,300.00 in 48 hours. Beware Jose only cares about a sale and does not stand by his product. Z-Auto is also at fault for a fraudulent NC inspection.

I took it on a long trip to NY with absolutely no issues. The car was in incredibly good shape inside and out for a late model. I mean, any car can be a lemon or have problems after a sale/purchase (especially late models) but I really think TMS tries hard to source from quality local dealer trade-ins (not auctions). Nothing is guaranteed but we both got lucky with this specific car. Given the pre-owned car market the price was firm but very fair and no "extra" BS charges. The price I was quoted was the price I paid the day I came to pick it up. Overall great experience.

I have to agree with the ownership and sales being courteous, respectful and professional…read more I went looking for a specific vehicle or two, and truth be told the pictures on the internet, while of those cars, really did not indicate the damage that was on those cars. The pics looked good. The cars, in person, not so much. Of the three cars I looked at, the first smelled so badly of cigarette smoke my bride & I could not stay in it for much more than about 20 seconds before we decided we couldn't take it anymore. In addition, the scrapes in the paint, while seemingly minor, and chewed up rims indicated a car that had been abused by the previous owner. The second vehicle was stored elsewhere and a runner had to go and get it - that took awhile. When we got in to test drive it, there was trash in it on the passenger side (empty soda bottles). The ragtop would not retract and the top of the dash was in pretty sad shape. Driving it, more than appearance, I now knew why it was not moving, at least not moving to my own driveway - the clutch needed to be tightened up - it was clunking every time I pushed the clutch in on the car. The third car was just to see what it was like. I wasn't really that interested in it. The rear bumper looked like it had been detached from the body at some point where the trim came around to the wheel well, and wasn't reattached very well, and the paint job looked like a cheap maaco quick job. All of the cars we looked at could have used a good detailing before we ever looked at them, just to make them more presentable and/or desireable. None of them were clean, and the smoke smell from the first car stayed with me so long I was assuming each of the cars was smelling like smoke until my bride corrected me. No pressure to buy here, the sales staff is not on commission. Either you like what you see or you don't and make your decisions from there. Since I didn't like wahat I saw, I didn't buy, doesn't mean I won't be back to look and potentially to buy. Again, staff is indeed courteous and personable.

Update: Owner eventually attempted to resolve the issue…read more I purchased a 2014 Toyota Avalon Limited from Cary Auto Sales and paid cash for the vehicle in full. Unfortunately, the same day I took the vehicle home, the tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning began flashing and malfunctioning. Sunday, I had the vehicle checked by a mechanic. I was told the problem was a defective TPMS sensor in the right-rear tire. What also concerned me was that the vehicle's diagnostic history showed that the TPMS system had previously been reset. I have no way of knowing who performed the reset or why. My mechanic questioned whether the system may have been reset before the sale, but I cannot independently confirm that, and I am not accusing Cary Auto Sales or anyone else of intentionally doing so. I simply found the circumstances concerning given that the TPMS problem appeared immediately after my purchase. I contacted Cary Auto Sales on Monday, only two days after purchasing the vehicle, and spoke with Peter, the gentleman who sold me the car. I explained the problem and attempted to give the dealership an opportunity to correct it. Peter declined to provide any service or replace the sensor. Fortunately, the owner, Sam, contacted me personally later Monday evening after seeing my review. Sam apologized that Peter had not offered to address the problem and told me I could bring the vehicle back and that he would have it looked at. I appreciate Sam taking the time to contact me and attempting to resolve the situation and told by Sam the owner it take about 1 hour. Cary Auto Sales brought the vehicle to the repair shop Daniel auto sales and service . I brought the car to Cary auto sales on Saturday at approximately 9:45 AM. When I arrived back to pick up at 11:15 or so, the vehicle had not yet been worked on. Sam had his assistant, Luis, take me to the repair shop. Vehicle was sitting, parked outside. The garage waiting to be worked on at that point. I was told it would be completed in 20 minutes by the garage, staff and Luis Sam's assistant The mechanic initially stated there was no defective sensor, but Sam told them to replace it anyway on the rear passenger back tire. Mechanic was truly confused or very incompetent. After the tire repair, the TPMS warning remained illuminated. The mechanic took the vehicle for a test drive and returned stating this car had a special problem and now there was TPMS issue with the front driver's-side TPMS sensor would need to be replaced. Luis and the mechanic continued working on the vehicle. By approximately 1:20 PM, several hours had passed. The mechanic took the vehicle for another drive, and I was then told that the sensor appeared to be functioning intermittently. The mechanic obtained a diagnostic/code-reading device, connected it to the vehicle and performed additional testing. Afterward, I was told that the TPMS system was now functioning and that the front driver's-side sensor no longer needed to be replaced. I appreciate that Sam ultimately made an effort to address the problem, and I appreciate the tire repair being provided at no charge. However, I remain concerned because the vehicle had a history of TPMS resets, the warning appeared immediately after purchase, and the diagnosis changed several times before the system was ultimately declared fixed without replacing the sensor. For now, I will continue monitoring the TPMS system to see whether the warning returns. Overall, my experience with Cary Auto Sales has been mixed. I was very disappointed that Peter initially refused to help when I reported a problem only two days after purchasing the vehicle. I do give owner Sam credit for contacting me, apologizing and ultimately making an effort to resolve the issue. However, the repair experience itself was lengthy, confusing and raised additional concerns for me. Based on my overall experience, I would encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Cary Auto Sales to have a thorough independent inspection and diagnostic scan completed BEFORE paying for the vehicle.

We purchased a vehicle 1.5 years ago from North Hills Motors and although there were some issues nothing out of the norm (except for a constant smell in the vehicle we could not place). We decided to upgrade to an suv and to our surprise during the trade i inspection we're told/shown the vehicle had been in an accident and was put back together poorly. In fact there was a leak in the trunk and the water was pooling under the mats (where spare tire is located) and growing mold (hence the smell), the side of the vehicle was not painted properly and the headlight was placed in the hole and held there by a piece of metal that has since rusted out. We believed NHM when they said they did a bumper to bumper check, showed us a clean car fax and signed off on the document that states no structural damage. Our mistake was not taking it to a mechanic for a pre purchase inspection. So please if you buy from NHM or any other used car dealer don't make the costly mistake we did...get the vehicle inspected by a third party before purchasing. We since have found out there have been others who have had similar experiences so again if my posting an update helps someone be more aware I'm happy I wrote it, learn from my mistake!
