Amean is your go-to place for Donairs! Some days when we are lazy, we make a stop by Amean for this super filling donairs. So here's what we bought- the Super Chicken Donair (CAD 9.75). I have attached a photo with my review comparing the size to an Iphone 10 so you get an idea! They also serve a Jumbo version at CAD 12.75. Lemme tell you this, these are filled with meat, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, etc. Tastes so good. If you are looking for something spicy, definitely opt for the Spicy King Donair- this is huge but spicy with a hint of tanginess but ah, so flavorful. Was excited to try this place after the rave reviews. We had the cheese donairs. They were quite dry, very little meat and the pita was a bit of a challenge to chew. There was very little sauce but lots of lettuce/tomato. The meat was spicy but not too intense. Perhaps, better to come for lunch instead of dinner like we did? Was greeted by a super friendly guy though so gotta give them credit for that. read more

In my newly found desire to slowly make my way through Edmonton's donair shops...today I found myself accross the street from Amean. Perhaps due to my love of Simon King, it just felt natural to order a King Spicy (despite the fact that of course...this is not Simon King...). Pretty good. Tastes to me like it is laced with Franks Red Hot or something similar. Didn't actually enjoy this flavor mix with the sweet sauce. Decent value at ~$10 for the donair and a bottle of Kirkland water... If the opportunity presents itself again, I believe I will try the Amean Burger. Looks awefully good! Until then, I don't plan to make any trips especially for these folks. I have had better. Indeed...I have had worse. If you find yourself in the neighbourhood hankering for a donair...they'll certainly do. read more

We were really excited to try the donair and were a little surprised to see no lamb but we went for the mixed meat with sweet onion sauce. It had so much flavour we devoured our meal. We were told to try the garlic sweet sauce - we will have to! read more

Ugggggh! Delish! My boss and I take turns buying lunch, this is one of our favourite spots. I haven't had anything else but "the king spicy donair". It's loaded with shaved donair meat which by the way- they order from the halal supplier with their blend of spices. The donair is also packed with sauce, excess hot sauce, tomatoes, lettuce and onion. It's the way they have their meat seasoned and how they prepare it, I find it to be just outstanding. Also, if you really want to add some hardcore heat, buy the simply natural organic sriracha sauce.....wooo! so good on this donair. As you walk through the door the men cooking always greet you, they are helpful, and quite efficient. Every lunch hour the place is packed or has a line up, and the food is still made at a reasonable rate of speed. The place is clean, swept, and wiped down. Enjoy. read more

Customer service is the absolute worst. Ordered a pizza during lunch time & simply asked for a few extra toppings. The cashier didn't take the order properly (second time this has happened). Owner got VERY furious with the cashier & us. The owner decided it was okay to come up to our table in front of everyone in the restaurant and tell us not to order pizza at lunch time. I'm sorry if I wasn't mistaken this place was for "PIZZA & DONAIR" this was completely rude, made us felt unwelcomed & his negative/angry vibes was felt clearly. If you own a pizza shop clearly people are going to ask for specific toppings. If your going to tell a customer who paid for everything they asked for to not order this item off the menu then maybe the pizza should be taken off the menu completely. Never going to this place again & wouldn't recommend anyone to go there unless they wanted to be disrespected and talked down too. & "owner" if your reading this I'm sure you'll remember us. You are ignorant and disrespectful. Your shop won't go anywhere with the attitude you have towards customers who are literally keeping your place afloat. The donairs here are great. The meat doesn't taste fatty and the toppings are fresh. They have gotten the sauce right here -- not too sweet. The guys who work here are friendly and they happily accomodate my odd requests for a "donair salad" when I'm in the mood for lower-carb. The interior is standard donair-shop ghetto. I got the donair pizza and pepperoni pizza, along with the fries and wings. The wings were good but they were fairly tiny in size. I had the lemon black peppers and hot wings. They were very flavourful but they were a little tiny and didn't seem to have too much meat on them. The pizzas I had was one: donaire meat, tomatoes, and hot peppers. This was defiantly tasty and the toppings were very generous. The second pizza, had pepperoni, jalapeño , and mushrooms. The best part of this is that it's halal. I actually come here more than how many times it has showed i have checked in. It's because i get distracted on how good the food is here. I have a hobby of trying new donair places around the city, and this place is on the top. The guys here are always keeping themselves busy, 1 person is always cleaning, which is a huge plus, cause i love to know that im eating at a clean place. I also like how i get called boss my the owner every time i walk in! The food is great, its no rushed, but they make it fairly fast. The meat is tasty and not super oily or greasy like other donair places which i like. They guys are also not to shy when you ask for little extra on your food. Both Donairs were dry and burnt! I've never had such a disgusting Donair before. Then when we ordered I said bottle, supposedly he charged us for a can and not a bottle, so I paid the extra 2.50, bringing our meal to over $27. We ended up throwing out half the food and will definitely never be going back again. I'd rather wait until I get back to the west end and go to Queen by far than deal with that burnt crap! read more

Having never had a donair, I decided to hit up Amean's instead of McDonalds. This was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I ordered the chicken donair combo. So I called this place to place an order and pick up. The guys who answered the phone was extremely rude. I ordered a Cheeseburger but I wanted to change toppings. He rushed me through this and I doubt he was even writing them down. Once he said that he had them he cut me off from talking and told me that my order would be ready in 5 min... I WASN'T DONE ORDERING. I told him that I wasn't done ordering and also wanted a Sub and a poutine, it was at this point he told me to hurry up!! I order food all the time and am not one of those people that do not know what they want when they call a place, I wasn't taking a long time! (Maybe if he was able to understand ENGLISH he could have taken my order more efficiently and it would not have taken the whole 2 minutes to take my order) As for the food I can not comment, I work hard for my money and refuse to give any of it to someone that is so unappreciative of my business and I suggest you do the same.
