I thought that the portion was large; I shared it with my sister and it was enough for us both. The service was good as well. Lasagna, Spaghetti w/meat sauce, Meatballs, Caesar salad and garlic bread. Plenty of sauce, the pastas didn't disappoint (lots of gooey cheese and goodness), large (!) salad and plenty of garlic bread (4 large pieces per order). It's 10/2022 and inflation is real so, yes, it will cost a little more if you haven't been here in awhile. I work in Newport Beach, and I didn't think I'd have time to grab a pizza at Blaze Pizza across the street at Fashion Island, but my boss was kind enough to have us do Pizza Day today, and I gotta say: I actually LOVE Ameci's. I took a slice of both the Meat Lover's and Pepperoni/Jalapeno, and both of them tasted GREAT. The crust was heated perfectly, and the toppings did not taste cold. The meats on both slices did not taste as salty like the Meat Lover's from Papa John's; but the Meat Lover's I got from Blaze was pretty close to what I had from Ameci's. This is that restaurant where you get what you are expecting. When you walk in, it gives that classic fast food vibe where you pop in for some pizza or pasta to take home when you are too tired to cook at home. The first time I visited, I got the Baked Rigatoni with a Caesar salad for $10.76 and the second time, I just ordered 2 custom pizza (not pictured) which was approximately $30 total. The Caesar salad was very filling itself! There were plenty of toppings which I appreciated! The Baked Rigatoni was decent as well. The sauce tasted like your classic bottled pasta sauce and the pasta itself was a little overdone. It breaks apart so easily when you put a fork through it. There was also plenty of cheese on the pasta dish. I did like that the salad was overall very refreshing and the pasta was steaming hot when I picked up my order. The pizza was a similar experience. It was just your average fast food pizza, similar to Domino's and Pizza Hut. There were plenty of toppings once again so no complaints there. Ameci's is like an Italian chipotle! Would I go back? Only if I was really busy/hungry or just bored of the normal fast food restaurants. read more

A little girl's birthday party turned completely sour when the pizza didn't arrived on time. The pizza was ordered in advance- and when the pizza should have been delivered- the staff stated that they didn't have a delivery person and it would be late. It doesn't seem like the owner reads these reviews, but I'll leave this anyway. I've been a customer of this Ameci Pizza for over 20 years. Today is my last time giving a dime to this restaurant. Like many pizza places, they are trying to force their customers to order online, especially through 3rd party company Slice. Amecis has always had coupons. Years ago, it was actual physical coupons that came in the mail, and these days it's on their website. They have always allowed you to call in and place an order and use the coupon, even since they've gone digital. Until now. The worker refused to give me the offer and told me it was the owner's decision. Rudely, I might add. Well guess what? Their website does not list all the toppings available, nor do they let you choose a sauce (or no sauce). So they want to push me to order on their inferior website if I want to get the deal, but I can't order the pizza the way I always have. Sorry, Mr. Owner, but you've lost a 20+ year customer over this inane decision. What a shame. read more

This was my first time ordering take out pasta from Ameci and the service was fast and cordial. It was dinner time so it was a bit busy but I was able to order and pick up my food in about 15 minutes. In regards to location and parking, Ameci is located in a busy plaza but there is a lot of available parking. In the take out sub section of the restaurant, there is a separate cashier and some seating so you can wait for your food after you order. I ordered the chicken pesto pasta and it satisfied my pasta craving. The portion size is big, I was able to eat dinner and have some leftover for lunch the next day. I just moved to the area and since this place is 5 minutes from me, I ordered a large pizza for $23.19 plus $4.50 for delivery. With tax it was $29.91 for a large garlic and pepperoni pizza. I was given an estimate of 45-75 minutes. I expected a hot piping pizza within the hour. I was wrong. Over 90 minutes later, the guy showed up. He handed me a barely warm pizza, the quality of which was less than a Trader Joe's that cost 1/3 the price and would have been ready in 1/3 the time had I heated it up in my own oven, which I needed to do anyway since the pizza was, like I said, barely warm. With tax and delivery, I ended up paying $29.91 for a lukewarm pizza that took over 1 1/2 hours to deliver. Because I am a business owner, I figured the owner would like to hear about my less-than-optimal experience. So I called. I left a message asking the owner to call me back with regard to a complaint. Unfortunately, 24 hours later, NO RESPONSE! So all I can deduce from this experience is that there are better pizza places out there, including (yes) Domino's, which serves a much better pizza at a much better price. read more

I noted on each item (which was excessive) that I was going to be eating in the restaurant, but placing my order early to save time. I've been dining at Ameci locations for over 20 years. Absolutely love the pizza. As a former New Yorker...it's hard to find great pizza on the West Coast. Ameci fortunately is one of the few places that has great pizza on the West Coast. Today I went in for lunch. The staff was very busy passing out catering orders (as expected on Halloween). Cody, Gabriel, & Hassan made it a point to make sure they got my order in and got me my food as soon as possible. As always - delicious! There isn't any room for dining in, but the patio has chairs and tables which are perfect for a beautiful day in Irvine. As always - very satisfied as a customer and I will be returning very soon. I tried their Margherita and White Knight pizzas -- both very garlic-y and full of flavor. It's not the cheapest if you're gonna compare it to fast-food-like pizza (Domino's or Pizza Hut). i was a fan and a regular at Ameci's. not anymore. i've had 3 orders that were missing sauce ( or verry little). i did mention it, not being to upset about it.... but a big order , it happened again. i called and was told the manager would call me back. i never revived a call. i called again ,and basically they told me i was wrong,that they know the order was good. i think it's bad business and they bassicaly acted like i was lieing. i wish i had taken a picture of the 75$ lasagna tray when i opened it. i had to put some sauce from the pantry for my guests. terrable way to treat a customer. and lasagna needs sause!!!!!! read more
