Service was mixed. Some of the employees were semi friendly, others just seemed irritated to be bothered with the customers. Decent interior, but the men's room was a step above a rest stop on the highway. The pizza was a pool of greasy mess... the flavor wasn't awful when you got past the grease. With so many places for food in the area, I'm headed elsewhere. read more

Stopped by after a sporting event and the ambience was as good as the company. We got a 1/2 1/2 pizza with creamy garlic and pesto supreme. Pretty good but standard, no wow factor, but still enjoyable. There's a small arcade area for kids to enjoy and the interior is fairly spacious. This seems to be the place to go for all the locals after sports and it can get pretty busy. Service was friendly but it does take a while to get your food. Located in the Ralphs plaza at the corner of Walnut and Culver, in Irvine. There's quite a bit of shops around but parking seems to not be a problem. read more

As someone who grew up on Lamppost Pizza in NorCal I was excited to learn about the numerous locations in OC. This one is located in a strip mall in Irvine. I didn't expect it to be so crowded but it was pretty packed for a Thursday night, I was glad we were able to find a comfortable spot on the patio. They have an extensive menu with lots of varieties of pizza as well as sandwiches and salads. I like that you can get a personal size pizza here too, it makes ordering with a group easy--everyone can get what they want! I opted for my old favorite from my childhood--the cinnamon pizza. Dessert pizza is so elite. It was so crispy, sweet, and delicious. Staff was friendly, too. Will be back another time for the many varieties of pizza. read more

When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, but Back Street Brewery had a few patrons enjoying drinks at the bar. We were able to order beer right away, and the server was kind enough to offer me a taste before I committed! One thing I wish was clearer: the menu didn't list prices for the beers, so I had no idea how much each one cost until I saw the total bill. It would be great to have that transparency upfront. That said, I appreciated the selection--they had a mix of BSB's own brews along with offerings from other breweries, which made for a well-rounded variety. The dog-friendly patio is great, especially for enjoying that beautiful OC weather. As for food, we decided to try the Pesto Supreme pizza, and it did not disappoint! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the cheese pulls were seriously impressive. Overall, I'm happy to have another solid brewery option in Irvine and look forward to coming back! read more

The pizza served here is a different kind of delicious. It's fresh and great in quality. I've tried to make pizza dough from scratch and my pizzas don't turn out as good as lamppost. Something about their dough completes the pizza. The 8 inch individual pizza for $8.99 is very filling. My boyfriend usually comes here on his lunches and they have great deals during lunch. Only thing is lunch slices offer two options: pepperoni or cheese. Lamppost has a wonderful social aspect good for adults as they have their own bar area. Located in the busy and popular Heritage Plaza shopping center. It was my first and only visit. On a Thursday, it was packed. Full of families and large parties. Very loud. They seemed to be very short staffed. Therefore, both the outdoor and indoor dining areas were a mess. Think the cartoon Tasmanian devil. Everything was all over the place and chairs were blocking walk areas. We had the pizza bread and Cobb salad. They were average in taste. The pizza bread was miniature. My friend and I decided to come here after checking the times they are open on Google (see photo). It's advertised they are open till 10, so we figured last call would be around 9:30. We came in at 9:10 and the bar area was pretty full of people, and they had a few large parties at the tables in the dining area still, so we really didn't expect to be sent away. The kid working said we could only order for take out, claiming they actually close at 9:30, despite their Google listed hours. Even if this is correct, there is no way they were going to have all the bar people and large table parties gone by then anyway. They could have easily made our cheese bread and salad and had us out before the large parties anyway. The teenagers working here clearly don't care about customer experience or the business making money. They just want to get off work as quickly as possible. We went to The Habit, in the same center, who was more than happy to have our bussiness instead of pushing us out. read more

Went on a Sunday evening for a ten-person volleyball team pizza party. We arrived at 5:00 PM and all but 4 tables had signs that they were reserved for Judy at 6:30. I understand reserving tables but it was 80% of the restaurant and it was 90 minutes out. The patrons were incredibly loud, from the kids to the football watchers. I mean loud. I don't expect a library ambiance at the pizza joint, but it was downright unpleasantly loud. The food is severely in need of improving. Our pasta had extremely salty sauce. It was obviously partly cooked way ahead of time and then revived when ordered. The mozzarella sticks were below average. Nothing you can't buy at the grocery store and heat up. The marinara was just gross. If you like insane levels of noise, really crappy food, and uninspiring experiences, Lamppost is your place. read more

My friend and I had ordered takeout from here recently. We ordered a large 3 topping pizza which was really tasty. The only thing I wasn't to happy about was there was no separate line to pick up takeout orders so you have to stand in the same line as everyone else waiting to order. This is a nice pizza spot for hanging out with friends and family. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't anything special, it tasted like Costco pizza to me (for double the price). I prefer a more tangy pizza sauce, and this sauce wasn't tangy at all. We been in this plaza probably a hundred times and always wondered about lamppost here. We finally decided to go here for lunch today and have to say the service was the best we've ever had anywhere. Linden took really good care of us. She made the best pasta. My daughter loved it and she checked on us frequently and the other guests. Malakai made us an awesome veggie pizza. I don't even enjoy pizza. But I devoured it. Looking forward to going here again soon. Ambiance is nice. Well laid out and clean with outdoor seating as well. read more

Weather for basketball party left with a full belly and kids smiles on their faces with barely any leftovers. I had a wonderful time there. Staff was friendly. Environment was nice and chill. They had in adult section and more of a public section which was good for both the adults and kids to not have to keep intersecting with one another. This place has been one of the pizzerias that has survived since the late 90s. I remember coming here for lunch time when I went to Irvine High School. The do good lunch specials during the day time with slices and other items combined. The bar is separate as you pay for your drinks at the bar and bring it to your table. I got the double pepperoni pizza for the table. There's no such thing as too much pepperoni on your pizza. Now for the pizza itself it was decent but even though I had requested double it really didn't feel like there was double. I've been here several times for a single and it was about the same amount. As far as the taste and quality of the pizza, it was good. It's practically a self serve as you grab your own plates, drinks and silver ware. You have a choice of sitting in their bar area or at the booths (if you find a clean one). Very kid friendly as well as you'll be hearing loud shrieks every few minutes on week nights. Why 3 stars and not 5?!??? While their pizza and chicken wings are good, the way we were treated when we ordered, left a bad taste in our mouths. While the service was somewhat friendly, the urgency to tip by their part turned us off completely. It should be a choice to tip whatever amount we please. And while we can't justify tipping over 20% on just taking our order at a mostly self serving place, by urgency, we were turned off by that experience, alone. While the place was crowded, it was the start of football season, it was a popular Lampost location. And just to be clear, we were going to tip something, but again, the way we were treated by guilting us in the first place, just disturbed us.
