After reading so many positive reviews I'm sooo disappointed in the quality of food here. I got a lot of food and everything I ate tasted like it came from a bag of frozen food. Everything was just so mushy and plain. I really wish I could get my money back because over 80% of the food was left uneaten. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt by saying that I did get my food to-go, so it could possibly be better fresh, but I'm not hopeful. read more

Found my New York pizza craving place The pizza here was amazing. I don't consider myself a big pizza connoisseur, although with this place, I found myself devouring their slices. I usually have 2 to 3 slices of pizza and here I nearly killed the whole entire box to myself. I ordered the pepperoni and the Italian sausage, classic I know, and it did not disappoint. Other members of my party decided to go with the forbidden pineapple on pizza route. I obviously didn't get one of those but from what they tell me it was pretty delicious. I did eat one of the pieces of vandalism bacon though, and that was delicious. Just don't tell my party that I was picking their Canadian bacon the pizza. We also ordered some of their wings. And they were also very delicious. My only regret is that I didn't order more. If you ever craving a slice of New York style pizza, look no further this is your spot. The pizza is great and a family favorite. The staff is super nice and always have a smile ready. If we're there for lunch, they have single slices for a great price. Otherwise if its to go, I like ordering the pizza lunch special, its the personal size with a side salad and soda, and I get an additional medium pizza for the kids. Food - pasta overcooked Manager - told us that we could get trays of food for a set price, then when we tried to make the catering order, they literally doubled in price... and made up a story that they didn't tell me the lower price, even after we talked and repeated over and over the number of people we were serving. We preemptively ordered some food to sample - and It was not extra ordinary, but it was ok - but the pasta were totally overcooked. Amecis. You ARE more expensive, yes, but by God your quality and service are unmatched. Dominos on Newport delivered nearly an hour late and WAY under safe consumption temperature. The slightly higher cost than say Dominos or Pappa John's means nothing to me because the quality and taste is so much better. They use Italian Flour in their dough makes a massive difference in texture, taste and ease on the stomach. Our go-to when we get takeout. Even the salads are quite good by pizzeria standards. If you're ever in the mood for a cheesy, saucy, crispy, fresh out the oven Calzone! Then this is the spot ! I decided to take a chance one night and order a calzone through DoorDash, and I was so glad I did. The Calzone tasted so fresh authentic, with some of the best marinara I've had as well. It made me think, if it's this good through DoorDash? How much better is it in person ! Definitely looking forward to trying more of there food in person, and I recommend you do the same. read more

I've only ordered here a few times which started in the last few months, but each time I ordered online for pickup and my food was ready and hot by the time I got there and the woman at the counter is so nice every single time. I've only ordered the calzones with cheese and black olives, but the lunch special comes with a canned drink and salad and it's so filling. I only eat half the calzone because it's plenty for a next day lunch. Great affordable lunch and glad I finally tried it out! Looking forward to my next meal here. read more

Always have liked Ameci. But added fees for delivery are next level robbery. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza for delivery a few days ago. Subtotal was around $22, which is ok. But after all fees were added, final total was about $40!!! This included delivery fee, taxes, service fee (not sure what this was for), and 15% tip for driver (this is fine for hard working drivers). A $22 pizza should not cost $40 to have delivered. read more

Ordered through Yelp for takeout prior to the businesses allowing dine-in. Quick and easy and my order was ready early! I'm a sucker for carbs and garlic knots are on the way top of my list under fries. I was craving them, and found them at this restaurant while browsing through Yelp. For a little over $5 for 8 pieces (my photo shows 7 because I ate one to fit the sauce in the photo :P), how could I pass them up! The garlic knots are so soft and fluffy, like eating marshmallows covered in garlic. So freaking good. The marinara sauce adds a nice touch to it as well, I used ALL of it. Nothing special to mention about the chicken Caesar salad that I also ordered other than they do give a lot of chicken. What can I say, it's just a salad! I placed an order to go on a Thursday: spaghetti with meatballs and pesto with chicken. Located in a large shopping area with plenty of parking. There was one person who just finished his meal and two employees (counter person and cook). The two entrees I ordered came with a canned soda, small side salad and garlic bread. Total came to over $24.00. When I got home, I opened the bag and the way it was packaged, the sauce from the spaghetti and meatballs spilled outside of the container and drenched the paperbag. The spaghetti and meatballs were dry bc all the sauce spilled out (the cook was too lazy to properly seal the lid). This was very annoying as I like my spaghetti to be on the spicy side. The side salad was simple but it was probably the best part of the order. Tried this place once and won't be returning. read more

For starters, this place is located next to Style Today Tailoring and the reason is Google Maps directed me to the other side of the actual restaurant and it was way off. I called yesterday to order for pick-up. The Lady that took my order was friendly. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a man and a woman. They both said, " Hi, welcome." I informed the Lady I was there to pick-up my order and she asked me for the name. The men went to the back and came back with my order. He was nice and asked me If I wanted separate containers for both items and I said, "No, thank you." The interior is quite homey, with enough seating and welcoming, especially with the friendly staff who made my experience a great one. My partner and I had the meat calzones. I truly appreciated that the staff put the tomato sauce on the side to avoid the calzones from getting soggy. My partner slathered the sauce into his calzone and stated that it was flavorful and good. He finished the entire calzone which is pretty big. The cost is worth the amount you receive, unlike other places that give you a tiny portion for everyone they charged. We plan to try other food items. Hole in the wall places often are some of the best places; they wouldn't survive otherwise. Ameci Tustin is one of those places. It's housed in Larwin Square on Newport Avenue, which just might be Tustin's oldest shopping center. I Yelp rate holistically - food quality, service, and price. Ameci definitely merits five stars. I'm a big fan of the lunch specials. You can choose from a pretty wide section of the full menu, plus a salad, plus a soft drink for around $10.00 or $11.00. I've tried their sammiches, pasta, and pizza, and it's all been great at a give away price at lunch time (11:00 to 3:00). You can eat inside, but it's primarily take out. There are also steps away outside tables and chairs should you wish to dine al fresco if you are feeling fancy, which on a nice day wouldn't be a bad option. Ameci is one of the gems of Tustin. I'm not sure how I overlooked it for so long. Pro-tip: Call in your order if you are doing take out. If you do that, your food will likely be ready and hot when you get there. I keep one of their paper menus handy for this very reason. Their menu is also available on their website if you're not an old school Boomer like me. No alcohol is served, but cheers anyway! So me and my boyfriend came here at least once to twice a month, it was our regular pizza place and we enjoyed the food enough but one night they closed early with no notice due to technical difficulties which is fine but I wrote a review on google out of frustration and the owners response to my review was pretty unprofessional. We called at 8:33 and got no response (if the owner was telling the truth we would've got an answer from someone telling us they were closing early). Drove over and got to the pizza place a few minutes later but the owner and employees claim they only closed at 8:45 and that I was wrong instead of apologizing. Closing early due to technical difficulties is completely fine and understandable. It was weird that there was no signs/nobody answered the phone but I definitely would've moved past that if the owner just apologized instead of insinuating that I'm wrong/lying is unacceptable and unprofessional. I may have even edited my review had the owner/employees been even a little bit remorseful because I understand things happen. Anyways, we got pizza at Mongiello's Pizza and Wigs in Santa Ana instead last night. From Ameci we would always order a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza and at Mongiello's we ordered the Los Angeles Style Pizza which is their spicy pepperoni, candied bacon, and jalapeños and it was superior to Ameci's anyways. I'm usually at Ameci's for lasagna, not pizza to be honest. For just shy of $20, I can snag a piping hot lasagna, in only 10-15 minutes. I'm able to pull right up to the door, and it's so hot it usually burns my hands. The garlic bread is a slice of heaven as well.
