Pesto pasta and margarita pizza with sourdough and vinaigrette

Classic spot with great energy! It's always a hit. Safest bet when family is in town because there is something for everyone. Great drinks great pesto pasta great margarita pizza. I personally sandwich the pesto pasta in between my pizza and it's a game changer!! I've been here shy of five times and the service as always been incredible as well. The staff is consistently accommodating.

North Italia is a very reliable restaurant when it comes to serving solid Italian fare in an open air dining/bar environment. They make food that is delicious and the entire menu is full of options that will please you. Today we returned for lunch. The hostesses (3) welcomed us and we told them we had a reservation and gave our name. We were told to step aside to wait for our table. That was weird as there were many empty tables. We waited about ten minutes before being placed at a table. It seems the hostesses need an education on how to quickly seat people. This was really the only qualm I have for the entire experience. I ordered the short rib lumache and a Caesar salad. Both were amazing. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and seasoned to perfection. The salad had ample dressing and wonderful croutons. Our waiter went out of his way to make our dining experience special. If you're looking to scratch that Italian food itch, this is the place. Pro tip: Make a reservation or you will wait a long time to be seated.

8/30/26 North Italia Irvine CA...My family took me here for my 52nd birthday dinner! What an excellent place! The food here was extraordinary! The service was great! I love this spacious restaurant with high ceiling and nice indoor and outdoor seating. To start off, I had the Don Giorgio drink. Great flavors! As an appetizer we all shared the white truffle garlic bread. The house made ricotta was great on top! For entrées, my younger daughter and I got the Ricotta Cavatelli and the Sunday night Lasagna. My son in law and older daughter had Trottole Chicken Pesto and Crushed Meatball Ragu. My 2 granddaughters had the kids meatball sliders & fries and pasta with marinara and meatball. Overall, this was a great birthday evening and a great birthday surprise to eat here. I definitely recommend this place!!!

I hadn't been back here in almost 10 years despite living fairly close to it. Not for any particular reason, but I regret not going back sooner!!! This is such a great Italian spot, and I think the options they have are so solid. It is a huge, clean space, they have great service, and you can see them making pasta from scratch in the back! My standouts were the squid ink pasta and the hot honey pizza. The truffle bread can honestly be skipped, I think it's a little overhyped. It's good, but I think their other apps might be better. I can't wait to try!!

Busy so make a reservation, okay parking but park on the other side because the North italia side is valet. Seating took a bit of time after checking in, nice high ceilings but crowded atmosphere. Because of the popularity of the restaraunt, it might be hard to flag down your waiter for service so try to get everything in one go. We got the ricotta cavatelli and bolognese. The ricotta cavatelli had a buttery rich lemony flavor, not oily or heavy and some substantial chunks. The bolognese had a nice deep tomato flavor and both pastas were cooked relatively al dente. Overall, its a good combination for the ambiance and for italian food in the area. Good for daytime lunches/lighter dates/catch up gatherings. Its little more on the fancy side but not formal.

This was my first time having brunch at North Italia. I enjoyed it. The breakfast board is absolute perfection. Its the perfect charcuterie board meant for breakfast. The caramelized onion frittata is dream worthy. Add the prosciutto to your board, you won't regret it! The argula salad and cheese with bread are all fantastic. I could eat this board every day. We also had the breakfast pizza and the donuts. The sausage on the pizza was a bit too spicy for me. The donuts were great, but a bit too sweet for me. Overall, the breakfast board is one of the best brunch inventions ever. The service was great and the patio was a lovely ambiance.

This place was packed on a Wednesday night. Friendly wait staff. Valet parking only. On to the food. The bolognese was pretty good but nothing special. The rigatoni vodka wasn't creamy at all which I was expecting. The squid was spicy but it wasn't in the description so that was a bit surprising. The shrimp scampi was quite good, very garlicky. And we also had the garlic tomato bisque which tasted like a regular bisque. It has spicy red pepper in it though. The bombolini was pretty good too. Small, blueberry compute and lemon curd. I'm not sure what the hype is all about. The food was prepared well, the pasta was al dente, but the flavors were not special. Maybe not as well rounded as I expect from a higher end restaurant.

If you're looking for a nice spot to grab lunch or dinner, have some drinks have a girls night have a date night I think North Italia is a consistent recommendation and go to spot for many folks in the Irvine area. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The service is always solid unless you get them on a off day which happens to the best of us, and the food is consistent a bit pricey but you're also paying for the ambience itself. If there is one thing I would pass on, it's the desserts. I've never been super wowed by any of the desserts here, so I would recommend having your drinks and dinner and appetizers here and then relocating for a little dessert and nightcap!

    Yep it's Red Sangria time

Hubby and I were visiting California and in the Irvine area, so we decided to stop by North Italia, a place we hadn't been to in a while. We were seated quickly at the bustling bar, and after settling in, our server, Angela M, (septum ring in her nose) brought us menus. Within 10 minutes, she asked if we wanted something to drink. My husband ordered a pitcher of red sangria, and I took a sip. Suddenly, I was done looking at the menu and ready to order. We were seated in limbo for 35 minutes, waiting for Angela M to return with water and ask us what we wanted to eat. It was frustrating because she was serving everyone else, talking to the customers next to us, and not once did she offer us water or ask about our order. I wondered if it was a racial issue or if she was simply a poor server. I was watching her serve everyone else except for us, which was quite interesting. I could have made a big deal, called the manager, and had a complete meltdown because of the terrible service. But I didn't. We just sat there and waited until the bartender turned to us and asked if anyone had served us yet. My husband had to answer him because I was so upset. We finally ordered our food, but my appetite had completely vanished. My husband placed the credit charge in the glass so we could pay. Would you believe that Angela M came out of nowhere and asked us how the meal was? She proceeded to process our bill. The only thing I could do was swallow hard and sign my credit card slip. On the tip line, I wrote a zero. We explained to the bartender that this wasn't a reflection of his service but of Angela M's. He completely understood. I hope North Italia takes this as a lesson learned and trains certain staff members again or has a brief conversation with Angela M about what customer service means. Great service can make all the difference between a 0 tip and a 25% tip. Hopefully, this incident will never happen again to another person again.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. The food is good and service is good. Has the truffle bread and mussels and no complaints. Wouldn't come here unless I had a reservation though because the wait can be long

I've been wanting to try this place for years but it was always booked the day of, but I was able to snag a reservation for Father's Day dinner. Take time for parking unless you want to pay for valet. I thought this place would be bigger considering it looks big from the outside, but the interior looked beautiful. White Truffle Garlic Bread (5/5): This is a must get to share with your party. The garlic is empowering and the truffle is so packed with flavor. The breast was fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Calamari (5/5): Very big pieces and comes with marinara and spicy mayo sauce. Definitely solid. Yellow tail Crudo (4/5): this raw fish looked a bit disorganized but it was still good. The flavor wasn't as strong, but it satisfied my sushi cravings. Funghi Pizza (5/5); This pizza blew me away. The mushroom flavor was potent and the crust was so fluffy. One of the best pizzas I've had. Cacio e Pepe (5/5): Super cheesy and the pepper flavor was strong. I enjoyed how fluffy the crust was. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka (5/5): Not too flavorful but it was good. Flavor was still impeccable Bolognese (2/5): For a special dish, this actually terrible. The pasta was undercooked as it was still hard eating it. This was one of the dishes that I would ask for a refund for Squid ink tonnarelli (5/5); This was amazing and the best pasta dish of the night. The pasta was cooked perfectly was it was both bouncy and chewy. The squid and shrimp were great with the sauce. This place is good, but pricey and small portion. I'd probably only come here for a special occasion

Great place to host a celebration with a modern sleek interior. We were quickly sat on the patio Monday afternoon. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of the various dishes and provided good variety of recommendations. The table started with a white truffle garlic bread dish and it was delicious!! This summer they are offering a summer selection menu of a small plate and entree for $25. I opted for the arancini and roasted salmon (extra $5). Everything was very yummy and I would order it again. The arancini had good depth of cheese. The one thing that was slightly annoying was the arancini would not hold shape when dipped in the sauce on the side.

Finally had dinner at North Italia after driving by it for years. We came for dinner on a weekend with reservations. If you're familiar with this shopping center then you already know parking is horrible so we chose to valet. The sign says cash only but they take credit cards. The menu has a lot to offer and I was happy to see they have mocktails. For apps we got the house made focaccia and calamari. The calamari had a unique breading that I didn't care for but the rest of my group loved it. Next time I'll go straight for the focaccia. The bread was fresh from the oven and the whipped ricotta was incredible! Because I'm a sucker for pasta I got the bolognese, which was tasty but very rich. Overall it was good food and attentive service even on a busy evening. It makes for a nice date night spot.

They have tons of parking in this shopping center. They share it with TONS of other places. One of my BFFs saw this on an Instagram video and wanted to check it out. *They do take reservations When we came in we checked in with one of the waitresses. She said she would seat us in a minute. To be honest, she did forget about us. A waiter walked up to us and asked us what was going on (we were standing there for around 7 - 10 minutes) and we told him we had a reservation for the speakeasy. He immediately apologized and sat us. This camp themed speakeasy has a couple booths. It's on the smaller sides. Which, speakeasy's are usually small to begin with. I did not get the waitresses name, my friend and I were busy catching up. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. I will say service was a 2/5. However, the actual restaurant, cozy pine is located in, was packed because of the World Cup being on TV. So I definitely was not going to complain The food Our food order did come out extremely FAST. Food- the weakest part of the experience. While certainly not bad however when compared to the rest of the experience it just was a bit lacking. The Loco Moco looked very nice. The doors make it so its not fully dark in here, but it does have a nice ambiance. All staff was very friendly and we had a nice time.

When you go thru the sliding doors it immediately transports you to a different time and place. Its very dark. Sleek. And modern. Yet simple. I love the big screen tvs with areal views of New York. It just made it feel like we were in a high rise building or a blimp with a birds eye view of many of New Yorks beautiful landmarks. The couches were extremely comfortable too. Great cushion. You just sink into them. Its a small area but great utilization of the space, making it seem large and spacious. The chairs too were really comfortable to sit in. We spent 3 hours in there and it flew by so quickly. The ambiance and feel here was just truly top notch. Our waitress was Brandy, or is it Brandi? She was super cool. She was a one person crew. Basically getting orders, making drinks, cleaning tables, and checking in on us. And she did it with great charisma, attitude and personality. Super knowledgeable about the menu. Made great drinks quickly. And was just super personable. Great job from her!! Her attitude and demeanor really matched the top tier aura they were going for here. They have a great selection of drinks. From more alcohol forward drinks to light and fruity drinks to refreshing drinks. I really did enjoy their drink selections. We had a total of about 6 drinks and they were all really good! We got there: 1. Fox's wedding- light, seeet and refreshing. I love the origami piece that Brandy put on it as well. Looked so beauitful. 2. Guava chiffon pancake- it was tropical, light but also had a coconut feel to it. It was really good. 3. The Monroe- this was light but tart, but not too tart. Silky with fruit forward notes. 4. Miso honey butter corn- rarely is a savory cocktail good. But this one was pretty good. The butter fat washed burbon was super intriguing. But it works well 5. When pigs fly- came with a paper airplane on top!! Haha. Love the playfulness. But the drink was so complex yet smooth. It was really good. For the bourbon drinkers, this one is for you! 6. Smoked Old Fashion- presentation is amazing. Comes in a big glass case that has cherry wood smoke inside. When you open it, you get that intense smell of burning cherry wood. Drink is smokey but in a very good way. Tasted amazing. A true classic done right. Their food menu is very encompassing and thorough as well. From full on burgers, to flat breads, to appetizers and small bites, to salads. They have a little of everything!! We ordered the following: 1. Pub nachos- this was an extremely large plate of loaded nachos. Super crunchy and fresh. I loved the generous amount of Chipotle chicken on top. The pepper jack queso sauce and jalapeño crema was a really good sauce. It just binded everything together. The beans and the fresh jalapeño just really all worked together. It was super good. Kept you grazing and munching away, but never becoming too full (more room for their drinks!!). 2. Figgy piggy flat bread- it was ok. Sweet caramel onions and fig jam, paired with some pungent cheeses. I thought it was pretty good. 3. Shrimp street tacos- 1 order comes with 2 tacos. They were good sizes. I love their tacos. So flaverful. Everything works together. Just tasted amazing!! Overall everything about this place is 5 stars. The ambiance, the decor, the exclusivity. The service. The drinks and the food. As i said 3 hours went by so fast!! Definitely a must try when in the area. And when you stay at the Marriott, its just a simple walk back to your room. And we left feeling happy and amazing. Thank you very much Brandy!!

Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with a fireplace outside for those chilly nights and where you can just relax and unwind. It's a very convenient restaurant for the surrounding businesses that would like to grab lunch without having to drive, have meetings or want a drink right after work. I was reviewing some of the dishes a couple of months before our arrival and thought this would be a nice early birthday dinner so I went ahead and reserved the 5pm dinner slot. But now let's get to the food! FOOD Short Ribs Croquettes (Appetizer) These were delightful. Not only cute and presentable but the flavors were delicious, a perfect combination of everything! Especially the aji amarillo aioli. Don't be shy when taking a scoop of the aioli, be sure to give the croquettes a nice drench of it! Highly recommend! Sea Bass Crudo (Appetizer) Presentation may seem a bit flat but I promise you it's packed with flavor! Prepared with citrus ponzu, serrano and garlic chili crunch, the Sea Bass Crudo is definitely refreshing with a bit of a kick! Looking for a shareable seafood type appetizer? Then you should absolutely try this out! Streak Frites This one felt like it would be a nice balanced healthy lunch. Marinated steak with bourbon peppercorn sauce sitting on a bed of fries featuring a nice portion of salad. Had the steak cooked medium and it was just perfect. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again! Work nearby and want a balance of everything? Then this is the dish for you! Braised Short Rib Probably my favorite one. Meat easily melts in every bite. Paired with those whipped potatoes beneath? Forget it! It may seem like a small dish but it gets filling pretty quick. I think this is another dish I'll be ordering the next time we visit! Peach Butter Cake (Dessert) I seem to have found myself in trouble when taking that first initial bite because I couldn't stop myself indulging its rich flavor! I was already full at this point but this was too damn delicious. It's got the same concept of a pizookie and I'm a sucker for this type of dessert! Love pizookies? Peach jam? Then you should get this! Guarantee you'll have it all to yourself! OVERALL Actually glad we were able to try this place out as I just stumbled upon it a couple months before. Great establishment for dates, small hangouts, big parties or an after work dinner. Spacious interior with comfy seatings and a modern look to the place. Oh and don't forget to get your parking ticket validated! Special thanks to the team and for the GM Chris Teng for checking up on us from time to time to ensure we were enjoying our experience. Definitely will be coming back!

We tried the crab cake Benedict, lobster & shrimp roll, and chicken & waffles. All were good but not very memorable in flavor. The drinks menu consists of alcoholic beverages and mocktails. Wish they had a bigger selection of caffeinated drinks for a brunch place. Overall a good choice for brunch with family and friends.

I found the cocktail to be slightly too sweet for my taste, but it was still very good (fragrant and well-balanced). The short ribs were tender and soft, cooked in a perfectly savory sauce with a hint of sweetness, and served over smooth mashed potatoes. The steak was also cooked and seasoned well. We all loved the maple pecan Brussels sprouts. I often find this dish to be overly oily or sweet, but this one was done very well. The Brussels sprouts were well-seasoned with the perfect hint of sweetness and cooked perfectly, not too soft or too crunchy. I will say that the restaurant's lighting was excessively dark. I don't mind dim lighting for ambiance, but it was so dark that I had to lean in close to my food and squint to see it clearly, which felt a bit excessive. Additionally, the green beans were slightly too old and fibrous, although they were cooked well. This was a shame because if they had used younger, fresher green beans, it would have elevated the dish and paired much better with the well-prepared meat. Overall great experience and would definitely come back! :)
