Inspections not free for real estate agents. I'm sure they are probably a good company but I'm a real estate agent and they are charging $150 for the inspection fee. We are not going to do the work because the buyer for the house I sold did not request it. I'm not having my seller pay for something they did not do and I'm not going to have them do any more inspections on anymore listings I have because of that fee. I do understand that termite companies usually charge for inspections they wind up not doing the work on but they give free inspections to real estate agents because they want to earn the business. read more

Do not use this company. I have been in the real estate business for over 30 years and have done many fumigations with various companies. I decided to switch companies because of cost. I had my house in Manhattan beach fumigated by this company. None of the plants or the weeds under the tent was affected in any way. This is a clear sign of fumigation failure. America west Termite did not take any responsibility and their response was unless you open the walls and show us there are live termites flying around we are not going to do anything to address your issues. If their fumigation does not kill any plants or weeds under the tent, it will clearly not kill any termites. Pay a few hundred dollars more and go with a reputable company that stands behind their customers. Don't waste your money with this company. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I scheduled an appointment last week for them to come out and treat live termites that were getting into my house. They said the soonest they can come out was 6 days. They never showed up. I called the office to ask what happened. They apologized and said they won't be out to treat for another 6 days. This company is garbage. They did they original inspection when we were buying our house. Their report on our house came back with very little termite damage despite the age our house. They replaced a few boards and did minor work according to their report. I was very surprised they didn't find anything else. Turns out they didn't really look. I had to call them back out for obvious termite damage in easily accessible areas of the house. This fell under their year warranty, but they still fought me on fixing it. "This damage probably happened after our technician inspected". A post was eaten by termites in a few months? Yeah right! 6 months later again I'm seeing droppings from our outdoor patio roof they claimed to have inspected. The inspector we hired from another company said the beam has been eaten through and that it's been going on for years. So yeah, stay away from this company, there are a ton of reputable companies out there that do great work. read more

The report recommendation was to fumigate but quote was treat only. Stated that I wanted to treat only. Report stated that building was a slab foundation not true, my home is a raised foundation, obviously there was no inspection for subterranean termites. This company was recommended by a realtor, I would include in escrow instructions for any home i was purchasing that America West not be used for the inspection. read more

I did not use this company for fumigation but we planned on it. We just bought a house and the previous owners had an inspection with AWT. We contacted them and provided our information and asked them not to disturb the previous owners prior to moving. Dean assured us that would be fine. Then several days later the previous owners notified us they had received our contact via email. We hadn't heard from AWT. We notified AWT they had violated our trust and we were going to look for other providers. Dean was bewildered and very apologetic when we notified him of the mix up. read more

We picked AWT because our neighborhood recommended! Their first phase/inspection and the phase after/ repair of damages done by termites and dry wrought were exceptional and their wood crew made some impossible task possible and I was very impressed. However, when came to fumigation which was the main reason for hiring a termite company, they disappointed me big time! Fumigation companies are the cover of this industry and "TENTING" companies are the subcontractors. As much as I was pleased with the 1st and 2nd phase which are solely AWT, I was extremely disappointed with the "TENTING" Company (Royalty). Of course, Dean, Bob, Tracy and the crew were all helpful and the wood crew were exceptional. But the main event, "TENTING" had left a horrible taste in my mouth. Carelessness, not paying attention to harm roof tiles, (by walking on clay tiles as it was a flat roof resulted 23 broken tiles costing $800 and they said; "aren't liable because of nature of clay tiles"), harm plants which were not covered by the tent by walking all over them. I have a feeling, I have made myself clear. Sorry AWT Co. But you asked me to give a review and this is the best I can do. I have rated a 2 star overall but your "wood crew" deserves 5 stars. If ever, I have to do this again, I reconsider unless AWT uses other TENTING Co. read more

Dean was very nice and helpful with saving me some money, but when it came time to fumigate I was never informed of the fact that it is sub-contracted to Megafume, I'm Orange. Had I known, I would have gone elsewhere, they were rude and unprofessional and never communicated 30 mins before showing up as mentioned. I was then stuck under a tent opening each door I'm the dark with a guy who didn't have a flashlight so I had to use my phone light. Very uncomfortable for a woman to be in that vulnerable situation. Dean did offer to talk with the company about my experience and did save me some money, but I think it's unfair not to disclose that it's sub-contracted and the name of that company. read more

They just treated our subterranean termites this past Monday. Their price was competitive. They arrived within the time window scheduled, and were able to get the job completed fast. Everything went smoothly and they cleaned up the treated area nicely. The part I like most about them is that they went above and beyond to accommodate us. We recently had a water damage and in the midst of this disaster we found there was termite. The buildback of our house was pending on the completion of termite treatment, so we needed it done as soon as possible. After Dean and Tracy (and another lady) listened to our problem, they understood the urgency; even though they were fully booked for this week, they made calls and adjusted the schedules to move our job up and help us out. Unfortunately this company really needs some help.. my first issue was i'm not your friend I'm the client and I should be treated as such. But I didn't need to write a review about that. I didn't pay for them to paint but they replaced some of the wood & primed the wood and were completely sloppy with it, there's paint all over the place on places they didn't treat. When I reached out to Dorene to find out what the deal that they just told me to refer to some packet that explained where they painted like I was supposed to understand any of that...but I also was going to be able to get over that, however the fun new issue that we have is in a main area where they were placed a lot of the wood they didn't put it back up with any care and left many large areas exposed. We now are battling a birds nest issue. The lack of customer and over all service detail just was NOT GOOD. I can say the men that did the work were nice but clearing were playing around way too much, maybe it was an over sight but there was way too many issues for this to just be a one time thing. I just hope the termite issue is actually gone because I will have to hire someone else to come out and fix it smh read more

I hired this company because they did work on my house when I bought it and also recently on my mother's home when it was sold. I had evidence of termites in my home and figured after 19 years an inspection was needed in that area and elsewhere. Bob came out and inspected my home and even though I initially just wanted to spot treat, after doing some research I decided to have my house tented. The two men, Jason & Chet who were sent out to do the initial wood repairs on my front and back porch railings, gas meter box, and my side garage door were on time, very thorough and neat! They also removed some old cardboard left behind by someone years ago from under my house and treated that area for subterranean termites. Dean in the office has been informative and patient with all my questions during this process too as has Tracey. My house will be tented this weekend, but so far the process has gone well. read more

I can't remember having a worse experience with a company... ever. The previous owners of my home hired them to do termite work via the escrow process. They hired this company because they were the cheapest quote they could get (they tried several places before going back to America West whom they had used prior). Needless to say, the termites came back and I had to tent the house--only 6 weeks after moving in. To their credit they tented for free---but this was the most EXPENSIVE free service I have ever had! My house was robbed while under the tent (you should know termite companies take NO responsibility for this in general--and America West is no exception. Also did they NOT offer to help in any way or offer any kind of condolence or resources--even though I asked them via email what they do in cases like this). While they did inform me of the burglary when their technician discovered it, they could provide me no specific details about the incident when they called to inform me. When I called to follow up and get information for the police report, they did not return my calls in a timely fashion so that I could provide the police with the information I needed to give them. They also "secured" my home after the break-in (disrupting finger print evidence) and took all the extra keys out of my house (without telling me they had the keys), making me think the thieves had stolen my house keys--prompting an unnecessary lock change. So, the company may give cheap quotes--but they give cheaper service. Avoid Avoid Avoid--unless you want terrible service, no empathy or help with your losses, and reoccurring termites! read more

Called America West Termite and asked for a quote, they came out spent 30 min. looking inside and outside, and gave a quote. I thought the quote was too high so I received another which I went with. Since then I have been receiving a bill for an inspection fee for $ 50.00. The Company has threatened collections which could adversely affect my credit score. I've called the company to reason with them but, they have been very rude. I finally filed a complaint with the "Structural Pest Control Board" and sent a copy to America West. America West claims that "The state has no concern or jurisdiction over fees we charge". So I guess America West Termite is above the law and can do whatever it feels like, claiming a quote is an inspection and therefore entitles them to a fee.
