Last year, the City redid the asphalt, driveway approaches, and curbs on our street. Our block looks wonderful. We also replaced our 30+ year old roof. Unfortunately, as a result, many critters came out of their hiding. We had a spider issue both inside and outside our home. We also had ants inside our house for the first time in over 20 years. We searched for a pest control company and after several quotes, we chose Homeshield and it was a wise decision. Though the regular service is quarterly, they will fine as often as needed if any issue arise before the routine service. Our tech, Oliver has been servicing our home from the beginning. He is always punctual, polite, and professional. He addresses all of the issues we point out while he is at our home. The price for their service is fair. We've been using Home Shield for nearly a year now and even transferred our service when we moved to our new home. Bryan has been absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. During the move, he quickly identified an ant infestation with multiple colonies throughout our backyard and was very thorough and aggressive in treating them. Thanks to him, we haven't had any ongoing ant issues. We also haven't had problems with spiders, and during mosquito season the relief was truly noticeable. I paused mosquito services about two months ago, but with the recent weather and water buildup, we'll definitely be resuming that service soon. I contacted them for fumigation and wood repair. Inspector Eric came and gave a very detailed report of how many places needed to be repaired. They spent 4 days totally repairing all the wood damaged and 1 day on paint. I want to specially call out that our main carpenter Adrian F. did a great quality job and addressed all of my concerns. There is another carpenter Eric who worked one day with Adrian who also did a good job. The tenting was done and scheduled accordingly. We also had Daniel come in and perform the bora care treatment professionally. There were some hassles in between including the underestimation of number of days that were needed for wood repair. Scheduling issues that 5 days of repair work got scattered into 4 weeks. The first day one carpenter put a dent on my brand new AC unit when he hammered down the fascia board. Also one section of the wood support was not done right, more than 2 rafter tails in a row got cut the roof eave so it was sagging and caused us a panic. They sent their manager to address our concerns and assure that it was corrected and that the correct work would be done. The carpenters fixed the previous mistakes and did great work in the end. So overall not a smooth experience yet I am willing to give it 5 stars because they did honor the original quote, and ended up doing more wood repair than originally quoted as it was discovered during the process. Thus going above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the work despite the initial issues. read more

After posting my review, a HomeShield manager reached out directly. He took the time to listen to everything that had happened over the past two years and across two different properties--something the rest of the company consistently failed to do. He personally organized for someone to come back out and re-check the previous work, and he also issued a small refund for the inconvenience. While my overall experience with HomeShield has been extremely frustrating and disorganized, I do appreciate this manager stepping in, following up, and showing the professionalism that was missing from the rest of the process. It doesn't erase the issues, but it does show that at least one person there is willing to make things right. read more

For regular maintenance, I receive multiple (but not too many) notices about my upcoming appointment (other companies would call that they had arrived when I wasn't even scheduled for service). Don't use this service, none of their chemicals work. They didn't show up for 2 services, 2 months passed and they finally show up less than a week ago and then today, they send me a collection letter for $350, im on auto pay its not my fault they failed to charge me after not showing up twice.. ***UPDATE*** Shortly after writing this review branch manager Edwin called to apologize for their mistake and offered to send a service manager to address all my concerns, he also cleared the collection. Mike and Abraham are really excellent technicians. Always thorough, friendly, and communicative. Mike once spent half an hour on the phone with me explaining pest behavior and his treatment plan. Abraham has done similarly in-person. Scheduling coordinators are always nice, too. Customer service and responsiveness is 5 stars. But the fact remains: we are not pest-free after two big treatments (furniture moved away from the walls, kitchen cabinets emptied, etc.) and many many months of follow-ups. We also had an issue where it was unclear what one of the other technicians did after one of the big treatments, and there was an instance where the tech missed the appointment. I had both of of my properties serviced by Home Shield the last few years and this week as well. They were able to treat both of my homes and found areas that rodents could get through. I did call a few companies on yelp to check on quotes and this place is the best still and has the best prices and they are really good at what they do, I had lots of wood damage on my rental property 5 years ago it was repaired from Home Shield and it is still perfect. We have been getting "help" with a rodent issue for the last 8 months for rodent extermination/removal services. And It seems to be far from being resolved. I had an early morning appointment for a follow up on trap placement and sealing areas under the house. My family and I were up and getting ready since everyone but me would be going to a picnic. I was in and out of the front of the house, loading our car. We also have a dog, so when strangers come and knock on the door, he will bark. I waited for the appoinment time to be over, 2 hour period, and the tech never came. I called the office and the person on the phone said they would try to get in contact with him and have him call me when he is on his way with an eta. I wait another 2 hours and nothing. I called one last time before calling the homeowner and they said the person was there. I went outside and saw no one. I talked to the homeowner and apparently the technician was there. He took a picture of the door and said no one was home. Usually I get a message or call stating they were on the way, but not this time. I have a dog and whenever anyone knocks on the door, he will bark like crazy. So, I will hear him regardless where I am in the house. I feel like the tech was being dishonest and never intended to do the job that day. Another issue, the manager keeps scheduling the appointments on his own without even calling to see if its a good time. Like I have to change my schedule because I need this situation resolved, of coarse I am going to take that appointment since you already scheduled it. Im not going to mention the managers name because I want to give them a chance to stop doing this. You are not being considerate to your customers. This situation make me think of the manager as unilaterally scheduling appointments without consulting customers, expecting them to rearrange their personal schedule to accommodate decisions they weren't involved in, that affect their living situation and schedule. read more
