We needed a quick get away without taking the camper. This RV Park was an hour away, so we rented for the weekend a cabin. The cabin was one that allowed pets. We were surprised how nice the cabin was. The Park is easy to get to and the park is very nice. It is right off of the highway. The folks who run this place is very nice. Saturday, they offer a free waffle breakfast and a $5 breakfast, while talking to several campers they had stayed here before. We will be back. read more

We needed a last minute reservation as we were passing through. We were able to secure a pull through site that made our travels much easier. It was a little more than we were looking to spend but the stop was convenient. We arrived after hours and our reservation information was available at the office. We were not provided with a receipt by email or paper, so I was a little disappointed by that. I always receive a receipt in some form when staying at a campground. Other than that, the grounds appeared to be well kept. The sites weren't too close together. Unfortunately I did have a hard time sleeping. In the middle of the night, people were grouped up and speaking very loudly directly behind our camper. I never had that happen before. Their conversation was very loud and kept waking me up. We left really early in the morning the next day so we weren't able to explore much more than that. It was a nice stop though. read more

I called and told them we'd be there March 12th, we were traveling from out of state, after traveling all day we didn't arrive until after midnight, and went to sleep; didn't connect water/electricity/sewer, etc until March 13th. I have a fence for my dogs and child. 3 weeks later I get a call from the office and they tell me there has been complaints about my fence; which I was confused about because of the amount of other people at this "resort" have and how they set there's up. That same conversation I told me that I would be extending my stay by a couple weeks due to my husbands job being extended (which I told them when I called to reserve a spot and they said it was not going to be an issue) and never was I told within the 3 weeks that I was "only approved for 30 days due to my camper", once again I was confused due to the fact that my camper is within their guidelines (10 years or newer) they told me "your camper looks older than what it is" which we have done our best to keep our camper looking nice since we do live in it FULL TIME. I was told that my check out was April 13th at 11:00 AM. April 12th at 12:30pm they called me and said "we had your check out today as April 12 and you all are still on site so I was just curious as to what was going on if you could give me a call back" which i had already talked to the management about all of this, I called them and tell me and the lady says "management is standing next to me let me talk to her" ... "she said y'all can stay 1 more night" which was already the agreement. $1,425 for ONE month is ridiculous in my opinion but I paid it since I was told I'd be able to extend my stay if needed. NEVER AGAIN! I will not ever stay with this "resort" and If it was not for the fact that my husband sleeps on the day we would've moved the 1st time they called. (My fence was not obstructing anyone's path, and I placed it in the designated location because there was no grass, and my older dog has hip issues. It would be more comfortable for him there than in the grave.) read more

This is our 4th time coming to Americamps and our 3rd Memorial Day Weekend. Unfortunately, this will be our last time unless things change. In the past, Memorial Day has been a great weekend to meet new people and hang outside your camper. This year, the events have changed, and we were ready to check out by Sunday morning. We loved all the events from last year. But this year, so many events were changed. We loved the outdoor music, ice cream social, bounce house for the kids, kona ice and the BBQ with outdoor seating to socialize. Yes, they did have a hot dog bbq but it was more of a pick up and go. I understand the price of things has increased, but how much are we really talking for an ice cream social? Having a movie night on a Saturday night instead of sunday and showing a more appropriate family-friendly movie instead of Meg might also be a good idea. Bring back a more family-friendly weekend with events throughout the day. This was the first time I we saw empty spots. read more

This campground is nice. The sites are pretty close with one another. We loved that they are all pull-through sites. We got here around 4:45pm to check-in and it's good thing we did the main office closes at 5pm on a Saturday which I found to be odd. Not sure why they aren't open later than that. They have a nice sized pool which is only open from 10:00am to 7:00pm. They have fire rings at the sites but are supposed to get permission from the main office prior to having a fire (which closed at 5 pm). We walked around and saw only one person that was able to have a fire. They have lovely landscaping throughout the campground. They also have a little water fall feature right after you pass the main office. The main office and camp store look pretty nice from the peek in the window. They have a cute dog park which our pug loved to explore it. They also have wifi and free Cable! The wifi was just okay. They have a nice restroom facility with roomy shower stalls. You can tell they clean the bathrooms pretty frequently. They even had a basketball court and a pretty nice new playground for the kids. If we ever come out this way we will definitely try to stop here again for the night. Just wish the main office was open so we can purchase some shirts and get permission to have a campfire. They also have a propane place inside the campground to get your tank filled which also had weird hours. Don't loose the access key card to get into the campground because they will charge you $25 for it. I took some pictures of this campground. read more

We had an opportunity to do a perm-stay at Americamps RV Resort from Feb - June 2025 in preparation of retirement. Our full hookup site was very suitable for our stay. The site was clean and the RV Resort was well kept. The staff were very friendly and so were all of our neighbors. ATTENTION CAMPING FRIENDS.. DO NOT CAMP AT AMERICAMPS IN ASHLAND. My parents have been staying here for about a month, until they can move into their new home. They gave my dad a 24 hour eviction notice this afternoon. Wait for it.... because myself and another guest had a difference in opinion. He was going 10 under the speed limit down the road. You can see my frustration as I was trying to get to my dad to rush him to the ER this morning and this guest was a complete JERK about it. I drove around him when two lanes became available and went on my way. We get back from the hospital and are handed a letter. We (mom and dad) are expected to leave within 24 hours. My mom is not here, she's working out of the country. She has no clue.. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!! Kicking out a sick elderly man! For what?! Doesn't make sense! I'm fine if I don't come back. Kick me out for disagreeing with that other guest. That's understandable. The other guy, he gets to stay. No punishment for him. THEY ARE MAKING MY DAD PICK UP EVERYTHING AND MOVE BY 5PM WHEN HE WAS ON MORPHINE AND ZOFRAN & THEY TRIED TO GET HANOVER COUNTY TO KICK ME OUT WHILE HE WAS PACKING UP. Do not camp here.. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. ** update** as we are leaving the women in the front office we're standing outside antagonizing me, my brother, and my brothers girlfriend trying to entice a physical fight. Since the campground was no longer a KOA, I wondered whether they couldn't maintain KOA standards. This was not the case. The bathrooms/showers were some of the best I have ever been in. Staff was friendly, site was fully functional with a completely level cement pad. We were here in Fall, so cannot remark on the pool. read more

First stay at this, Americans RV Resort Ashland, VA 11322 Air Park Road Ashland VA 23005, 804-798-5298 Infoamericamps.com Before taking our new (to us) 40' class A on our first 6 month excursion, we reserved for a 5 day stay at this rv resort It is less than an hour to go from home to this rv resort to test road-worthiness. Our rv passed on all systems. We were not disappointed on our rv check up or the rv resort. We would not hesitate to return to this rv resort if an opportunity arises. It is a small rv resort. There is limited space between the lots. But we made it work. Fortunately we had nice neighbors. Resort is well kept. We really enjoyed the beautiful landscaping at every turn. The waterfall, near the pool, was quite impressive. The pool was nice, although a bit too chilly. There is a modest camp store, but Super Walmart is within 10 - 15 minutes and an easy drive. The staff were all accommodating and friendly. There are a couple of dog parks that were no frills but enough space for dogs to take care of business. Unlike some other campgrounds we have visited, parks were kept clean. Probably due to efforts of dog owners along with resort maintenance. Waffle breakfast was offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Stayed 2 nights (Sept 22 - 23). Great location for visiting Richmond, Ashland (Randolph-Macon), or King's Dominion. Our site was in the first row, closest to I-95, but there is a sound barrier which does a good job in reducing road noise. Nice layout, friendly staff, and extremely clean shower / bath houses. One of the best campsites we've had the pleasure of visiting!! The staff was cheerful and efficient. The bathhouses were spotless. Pathways charmingly lead across the treed and peaceful campground to the charming pool and dog run. Pebble beds at the sites reduced dirt and ants getting into the camper. Missed their "tipsy bingo" and "waffle breakfast" events, so we have an excuse to return. read more

We stayed in a 40' class A towing and were provided a lovely 50 amp, full h/u, pull-through that included a cable connection. There was plenty of space between camp sites. The office staff were friendly and accommodating. A sweet beagle greeted me as I entered. There are seasonal sites, but they didn't look like your expected seasonal. All that we saw were neat and uncluttered. We stayed one night and would stay again if in the area. Easy on and off 95. The hum of traffic luffed me to sleep. read more

Great campground, been at this 15 years and really appreciate the pride that is taken at this campground in upkeep and cleanliness. Beautiful pool, friendly staff, loved the waffle breakfast on Friday Saturday and Sundays. Our spot was in the middle of the campground and just perfect. Lots of lovely shade trees. Convenient location close to the interstate. Love the fact that there is a concrete wall between the interstate and the campground, therefore less road noise. All was going well here, until it wasn't. I am from out of town and I travel to Richmond for work. I have an over landing set up because I don't have the means to purchase an RV at the moment. I was renting one of the tent sites here on a weekly basis and I was mostly satisfied with my service. They put my name in the system. I was able to call every week and very easily rent a site. The staff was kind and helpful. I wasn't going to leave a review until my stay was finished, but it was recently cut short. I called to reserve my spot and I was told the owner now requires a tent to rent the site I've been renting for months. I'm not sure if it was a cash grab to get me to rent one of the RV sites, but I don't have one so I didn't feel that was necessary. I will say two negatives of my time there. The tent site they have set up is nice. It has water and electrical available, but they let people walk their dogs and poop in the grass where people pitch a tent. They have a sign up that says to clean up after your dog, but everyone knows in sub freezing temps no one is going to do that. I did step in some running an extension cord to the outlet a few time. The other negative, I don't believe they cleaned the bathroom showers often enough. I did take notice that the showers had the same dust/lint lined along the top of the shower and there were hairs on the walls of the shower that were there a few weeks in a row. A note to the owner... While I appreciate the time I was able to stay, you have lost a customer. I planned on parking my RV when I got one in the next few months for as long as I was in Richmond, but I am no longer going to. read more

Sites gravel, mostly pull-ins , flat, and equipped with table, full hookup, 50 amp available, Free WiIFI ( not the fastest), free cable, propane, pool, rally room, camp store, some sites tight, access roads tight for large RV's. , trash pickup, socials, fitness room, and other activities. Close to a five star, but for tight roads and some sites. Great friendly staff, lighting and facilities excellent. Near Richmond, NASCAR, King's Dominion, and other local activities. Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 3-nights in a site for big rigs (site # F29). Pd $68 night. This is a nice park with level gravel sites, but we're giving it a poor rating (1-Star) because they ignored our complaints about the wifi. We had planned to stay longer, but after three days of complaining to the office about having no wifi, we're leaving. We really would have appreciated a follow-up call, but we never heard anything. Every day we'd call about the wifi and the office personnel would tell us a different story. When we complained on the third day, we were told the Owner had attempted to fix the wifi the day before, but it was still down. Unfortunately, we require wifi wherever we stay, which is why we make it a point to always verify if the park sites have a wifi signal before making reservations and this park had assured us there was a good wifi signal at each site. We could not get on the WIFI to check the weather or even our email. For some users such as ourselves, wifi is an important feature and was one of the reasons we decided to stay here. Needless to say, we're disappointed. read more

The staff at this resort was beyond amazing! I mean, seriously. This was our first stop on our way from Maine to Florida and they could not have been more friendly, more accommodating and more concerned for our wellbeing! We had a mishap with our camper that required a tow, and the staff was so kind, even going so far as to offer us the use of his own personal vehicle for the day! It doesn't get much better than this. To a couple of weary travelers, scared that our rig was in serious trouble, they were absolutely amazing. The campsites were impeccable. The facilites were flawless. They allowed us to hang out in their rec lounge and wait for the repair, offering us drinks, coffee, television, whatever we wanted! The groundskeeper was also from Maine, and he was so friendly, so wonderful! They treated us like a member of their own family and it was so comforting and rewarding. THANK YOU SO MUCH to your staff for making us feel safe and welcome. We will absolutely return on our next trip south! We will never forget your kindness, it really left an impression. 8-) read more

This campground is right next to I95, making it convenient for a quick overnight stay. We were pleasantly surprised with how nice it is. Very well maintained with blacktop roads, level gravel sites--most were full hookup. Bathrooms/showers were very clean, well lit and well maintained. The store/reception area is cozy and nicely decorated with camping supplies, some grocery items and locally made jewelry and crafts. Lots of landscaping and plantings. Decorated for fall when we were there in Oct. There is a small pool and even a fitness center. Even a nice fenced dog park. The only possible negative is the traffic noise. Would definitely stay again! read more

We can't say enough about all the staff here. We drove in with a brake problem this morning. One of the managers, Jim Kirby came and did a quick test for us but then suggested Trailer Time RV Repair who just happened to be on site to help us. Jim gave us Ice cycle pops dog treats and then helped us get a permanent site when we decided we needed to stay. The girls inside the store were so gracious too checking us in. Randomly found this spot while surfing the net in hopes of finding affordable lodging for a softball tourney in Richmond during Memorial Day holiday weekend. Decent campground with gravel spot, a few trees, fire pit, daily trash pick up, and friendly escort to campsite. Pool looks bigger in pictures. Conveniently off of i95. In fact, so close that you can throw a rock to the interstate, but once you go into your RV, you don't hear a thing...unless your windows are open. Microbrewery within walking distance, but didn't check it out. But, we could hear the live band until midnight. Wal-Mart less than 9 mins away, Popeyes & Bojangles down the street. Paid $40/night with military discount. Great rate. read more

This campground was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! The grounds and equipment are in good repair. The restrooms are clean and maintained with all the necessities. We were assigned a site close to the restroom as per our request. The site was clean; the gravel bed was level. Additionally, there was ample room to park our Jeep so it did not block the roadway. On Thanksgiving, the park provided us with a genuine Thanksgiving Dinner that was excellent in all respects. The staff was friendly and most attentive to our needs, to include helping us find out why our camper did not have heat during the cold nights and also to provide us with suggestions for things to do for the weekend after Thanksgiving. On Sunday morning, they fed us waffles, which tasted GREAT... We plan to stay at this campground the next time we visit the Ashland/Richmond area. We highly recommend a visit to the Americamps RV Park in Ashland, VA for a very pleasant experience. read more

If you like to be woken up to the sound of dogs barking, then this is your place. They allow campers to put up temporary fences for their dogs. This, as you can imagine, leads to many long term campers leaving their pets outside unattended. Mix in a little "old people never sleep," and early morning (6:50!) dog walking, and you have a symphony of dogs greeting each other. This place is a 4 star place, but then... They lose a star for the dog noise, and they lose another one for having tiny sites. The site we got didn't have enough room for a picnic table between our door and the neighbors sewer. Plus one star for amazing customer service. If you stay for a month, they have metered electric. Our water pressure was low. It might have been just our site though. We never asked anyone else. Try and get a site away from the highway if you are a light sleeper. Highway I95 is noisy all night with lots of traffic. read more

This campground is very convenient to I-95. It's a great place to stay if touring the area: close to Richmond, Petersburg, Fredericksburg, and Williamsburg. We were traveling through, so we only stayed one night. The pull-thru site we stayed in was long and level. The night we were there they were having a Ladies' Night in the Rally Room. At check-in we were also told about free waffles for breakfast the next day. This is going down on our list of campgrounds to return to. read more

Staying here for a softball tournament over Memorial Day weekend. Pulled up after midnight to learn that we're in the very front of the grounds. It is basically the same as pulling over on 95 and sleeping on the side of the road. Road noise is terrible. Not relaxing. The only thing to really do here is the pool and it's not open....Memorial Day weekend. They do have well maintained grounds and the sites are stone-covered. It's fine if you're in the back, don't have children, and 75+. Very likely wouldn't come to this place again. Every other campground I've stayed at has been more kid friendly. read more
