My first Yelp Review is for American Airlines gate attendant Alexis H at Fresno International Airport. She was extremely pleasant and helpful assisting customers board while also fielding multiple questions from others awaiting their flights. I witnessed her ability to multitask through several customer service functions while maintaining an extremely high level of professionalism and patience. While waiting for others board to she allowed me to stay seated due to an injured knee and alerted me when it was time to board. Lastly, she proactively took it upon herself to check the flight to see if there was a closer seat for me and placed me there. My daughter and I moved from Mississippi to California for her new job. We had several delays because of the storm in Dallas. However, we made it to Fresno on Tuesday and our bags made it to Fresno on Thursday. I had to make several, several, several phone calls to track our bags. At one time they couldn't find a bag. They kept transferring me from Fresno to Dallas while on the phone. Hold time was at least 4 hours for one call. The others would answer and hang up. Ridiculous customer service!! Marvin who is a customer service representative went above and beyond for us and resolved a huge dilemma for us. My wife and I were on our way to our daughters graduation in Colorado. When we got to the airport we learned our flight was delayed and initially the only option to get to Denver was 1 hour before her graduation which would be able to make. He was determined to get us there on time and found another flight with another airline that gets us to Denver on time as originally planned. Marvin is a rock star and deserves a raise! read more

2/2 today. Have had two encounters this morning with AA agents. The first, when I asked about joining our seats together said that we were in different areas of the plane but close (rows 14 and 33) - I guess that is closer that say 1 and 50 but NOT CLOSE. I had the impression that he didn't want to help me and we were very friendly with him. The second, I approached the gate counter, the woman immediately glanced up, no greeting, " I don't even have my computers on yet. You'll have to give me a minute, " while not even looking at me. You can tell I annoyed her with my presence. Came back later, didn't even try to look. Told me the flight it full. What happened to customer service? AMERICAN AIRLINES doesn't appear care about serving the customer, at least not the two employees that I encountered. I should have paid a little more and flown Alaskan Airlines. I have never had a Poot experience with them. I will pay the extra $50 next time. read more

It takes a small effort to be nice to customers and treat them with dignity. The lady at the counter who assisted me on my flight to Phoenix should be fired if she continues with this attitude. The absolute worst flight experience in my 30+ years of flying. Flight was severely delayed. I get that it happens. So I wouldn't be able to get my connecting flight. They offered to fly me in 24 hours later. Ouch. I told them at the counter I'd just like a refund so I can drive to my destination as I'd at least make it by the morning. They said we can't do it at the counter I have to do it on the website. When I tried the website it referred me to their 1800 number. Was hung up on twice with no call back. Waited over 17 minutes. Went to try a different customer service rep and again referred me to the website. You messed up. Why can't anybody help me fix it. Website -no Customer service rep twice couldn't help 1-800-433-7300 -hung up on twice No credits or vouchers either Stuck at the airport for my second day. read more

We got on the tarmac at fat and we're there for two hours finally, we flew to Dallas/Fort Worth we're our connecting flight to Fort Lauderdale was and we got on another plane and the same thing. Mechanical problems. After a few hours on the plane we were told to get of and get a motel. We already had reserved a room in Fort Lauderdale. Also, we were getting on the cruise ship that was leaving at 3:30 and still the plane was non functional I asked the attendant if we could get on another flight and she said no. We ended up pulling into Fort Lauderdale at three fifteen and we're met by cruise line person who said we either miss our boat or go with no luggage they sent our luggage toSaint Thomas wich was half way through our cruise. read more

Flight out of Fresno was delayed, repeatedly...then cancelled altogether, messing up our connection -- along with everyone else. One agent, named "Mele", was an absolute hero, without any help whatsoever from the airline. Put us up in a hotel, but no dinner voucher. Again, the agent who helped my (disabled) wife and I is a hero and should be made CEO. I was supposed to fly back home from attending my brother's funeral in San Antonio, TX on a Friday at 8:30pm once we got there they said that there was a 30 min delay so I was like ok not too bad then it turn into a 2 hour delay which at at point we were going to miss our connecting flight they said no worries they will wait for you at the Dallas airport well they didn't'. we finally arrived to the airport at midnight were they told us they would rebook us for the next and so sorry but we also don't have any hotel accommodations so figure it out. Recently, I got a new job that required that I travel a lot. The company covered the tickets but they also preferred that I flew with American Airlines. I have not been able to figure out the reason behind this; so far I have gone through several flight cancellations as well as delayed flights. All those problems I mentioned happen so often that I felt that if a fly was on time it was the exception to the rule (and not the other way around). I was a little horrified, as I heard bad stories about this airline and it did not take much until I was able to confirm it, American Airlines sucks. Rude employees, expensive tickets...the list continues. Luckily, I am not working for the same company any longer and now when I get to flight I can choose the company. Good bye American Airlines, I'll never see you again! I booked a flight for 5. We planned the trip only to discover our flights were cancelled due to non-payment. Supervisor Janie, a wonderful angel fixed our issue and even got our preferred seating. If zero or negative star values were an option I would assign it. I arrived early for my flight by an hour and a half. The AA website would not let me check in I tried to check in 2 and a half hours before my flight online before I even got to the airport. So I waited in line to check in at a kiosk. I did not even have any baggage to check. By the time I got to the kiosk I was at 45 min prior to my flight. The kiosk would not let me check in for my flight. It directed me to a customer service representative and at that time I waited for almost an hour and even though I told the check in clerk (Derek) what time My flight was leaving he told me to wait at the side and I ended up missing my flight because of the worst customer service I have EVER had with ANY airline. The front desk clerk who was named Evelyn was raising her voice and arguing with customers. I haven't ever seen anything like that before. There was no communication from any of the three clerks with the long line of customers to let them know what was going on, no apologies were issued, there was no attempt to deliver hospitality in any fashion. I wasn't even greeted by the clerk when I came to the front desk over an hour and a half later of waiting. They tried to make me drive to another airport two hours away. Keep in mind that this is Fourth of July weekend on a Friday. There were only 3 service clerks for check in and one of them left so it was just 2 clerks for a massive line. I will NEVER fly American Airlines EVER again. Just a total disgrace to anyone who cares about customer service even a tiny amount. I will never recommend this airline to anyone in fact I will now discourage them to use American Airlines and recommend they use ANYTHING but American. read more

They had one person at the ticketing desk. We waited so long ago could no longer check our bags. This was unacceptable because she was not working quickly and kept pulling priority customers who just arrived. We had to abandon expensive items because they were not allowed through TSA. Instead of being apologetic, she lectured us on arriving sooner. We were second in line for 20 minutes! American Airlines rip me off my money because when I tried to check in 24 hours before my flight, it won't let me check in unless I choose a seat and the seats that were left open where charging 20-45 bucks a seat!! So then feeling pressure I purchase my seats and then the day of flight there were open free seats and on top of that I wasn't able to get my seating refund!!!!! That is ridiculous!! This review is really a zero. My daughter bought round trip tickets online a month or so before her trip home. Flight from Baltimore was perfect but the flight back SUCKED! We got to the airport a-little before 5:00am and the flight was leaving at 6:15am (actually left at 6:20). The counter girl was standing there dicking around (wasting time) then asked to help my daughter. She told my daughter she was to late and if she wanted to fly out she would have to take out all liquids from her check bags and pay an additional $200.00 then she could fly out. What the F??K !! My daughter was almost in tears. I was helping her take out the liquids (like we were told) so she could fly out when the counter girl just walked away. Not only did she leave my daughter but she left 2 other people. We all stood there for almost 2 hours and she never came back. One of the other customers asked her for a manager before she walked away but they never showed either. I contacted American via e-mail to see if my daughter could get a refund or even a partial refund (sense it was their fault) but all I got was a nicely worded FUCK-OFF letter back." They did say this, and I quote, "While I understand that you are requesting a refund of your daughters ticket, I must respectfully decline. " "Again Donna, I apologize for the experience that (my daughters name) had I'd like to encourage her to give us another try". "The next time she travels with us, I'm confident things will go much more smoothly". My e-mail back to American; "You know even if you would have refunded her $50.00 we would have been happy and would have used American again and probably would have overlooked your awful staff but now you've lost a customer". "I could give a rats ass how many times you apologize, or what you do to reprimand your staff because this only comes down to one thing!" "How my daughter was treated". "You might think about doing the right thing". After that e-mail I got a FUCK-OFF phone call. If I had to define the worst possible airline experience, I would just say "American Airlines". It can't be worse than this. I have flown American Airlines many times. They blatantly disrespect their customers, massively overcharge, and fail to put even basic effort into customer service. I woke up at 4am today to catch a 5:30 flight. It is now 7:17am; they have delayed our flight a total of FOUR times so far and we are currently set to board at 9 fucking 20 am. It is a ONE HOUR FLIGHT. I could have bought a plane in the time I have waited. No compensation has been offered. Essentially every passenger now has to negotiate their connecting flights at the slowest possible pace (people have been waiting in line for hours). Don't fly American. I told myself I would never fly American again..but thought Id give them another chance. First of, no one knows what they are doing and when the airline changes your flight and does not put you in the class of seats you paid for and then tells me they cant do that........all I wanted was to be put in the Extra leg room (which is a joke in itself) seats that I paid for. This is a trip from LAX to Rome with a 6'4" person in the party. I purchase extra leg room in March. Trip is in October. Then they switched my flights and put us back in basic economy AND in front of the toilets on the leg from JFK to Rome! I asked that they put my party in the extra space class of seats and they said they cant do that! I spoke to a agent who DID DO THAT for the first leg from LAX to JFK without a problem but a manager couldnt fix the second leg to Rome!?? This is a rip off and a death blow to American Airlines. We booked our flights on line, which was very easy and did not take very much time. We arrived 45 minutes before our flight, check in took less than 3 minutes!!! Very fast and easy. Went through security very quickly........ The flights were very inexpensive! The plane ride was great. The flight attendants were very nice. The plane was on the smaller side, but was comfortable. Didn't need a bathroom break, so i didn't see the bathroom. Overall it was a great experience!!!! read more

I found myself in a situation where I needed to get between two points and had a couple of options. Drive a rental car or fly? I spoke with two different Alaska Airline agents about the flight and finally made the decision to fly and purchased the ticket a couple of hours before the flight. However, when I arrived at the airport I learned for the first time that the flight was delayed more than two hours. . . and that the flights associated with this aircraft had been delayed since early in the morning. Neither agent made me aware of this information even though the flight had been delayed since the morning. Honestly, the airline was great while we waited for our plane to arrive. They provided dinner and were very apologetic. All the passengers were told that we would receive some compensation for the inconvenience within a couple of days of the flight via an email message. But my email message never came. I followed the instructions on a small postcard given to us at the airport to report my experience to their customer care department. I logged in to Alaska listens and told my story, and still nothing. I later learned from other individuals on the same flight that they had received a discount code to be used on our next flight. And of all people not to receive this offer! I am very disappointed and frustrated with Alaska Airline. I expected more. read more

We only had one girl who was talking and going in slo-motion. The line was long took forever.
