Axe lanes
Robert S.

Never been axe throwing before and first few throws demonstrated that. However, Colton the proprietor gave top notch instruction and demos for us to get the hang of throwing one and two handed. By the end I was hitting the bullseye more often than throwing bad attempts. Had multiple bays and great lighting. Food and drink is BYO. Place would be great for an adult birthday party. Not my usual game night, but I had fun getting out of my comfort zone with axes. Also had throwing stars, knives, and other sharp objects to throw. Definitely do not want to do this with alcohol as it is an accident waiting to happen, but as a sober party option I can't think of a more fun experience. Would definitely go again as I prefer this to pool or darts or video games.

We came to the wrong location! Funny enough, my date and I went in thinking we were at the correct place as our reservation but turns out we weren't! They were so gracious to help move our reservation to their system and I'm glad they did because we had an awesome time learning more about axe throwing and techniques here. We came on a rainy Saturday evening and there weren't many people in there so we definitely had an intimate atmosphere and experience. Robert was our instructor and he gave spot on tips to helping us achieve bullseyes. We're definitely coming back and playing more of the games. Would love to bring a group next time.

We went here for a birthday celebration and let me tell you, I was so scared I'd end up chopping a hand off. Now that it's done, I'm ready to do it again!!! We had an hour time slot. They first tell you directions about how to handle the axes and what to do and not. Then, someone watches you and trains you in your first throw as to what to do. Then, you just get the hang of it and start throwing. The people explaining were so patient and kind and gave excellent advice. Someone in our group went from having no idea what he was doing to hitting a bullseye! This was an incredibly enjoyable activity which we would absolutely do again!

We had a great time learning to throw an ax and then playing some of the suggested games to compete. At first it was a little frustrating to get the axe to stick but once you got the hang of how to throw it, lots of laughs and fun. Great for groups as the have multiple lanes / bays to throw. As this is 2020, we were able to be socially distanced, wear masks and plenty of hand sanitizer was available. Highly recommend!

Inside--very busy and crowded

My family I came here one weekend to surprise my brother in law for his birthday. The staff was really friendly, although once we started playing it was a little difficult to track our guy down since it was really busy. They allow you to bring food & drink, but we found it difficult to really set it anywhere that was easily accessible. The biggest downfall I found was that it was so crowded. Obviously only one person can throw at a time, so that leaves everyone else standing around behind the throwing area. Other axe venues I have been to had picnic tables so groups could actually have a place to sit and/or place their items. While my group of 6 was there, there were several other large groups and you could definitely feel it. I felt like I was constantly trying to avoid bumping into others. Honestly, if they took away the one throwing area we were in, the Smokey Mountain National Park, there might actually be room for groups to find a place to settle into while they rotate throwing. That would make it a more comfortable experience all around, IMO. Also, there is no area to really settle in and sign waivers and wait for the rest of your party at the front. We were all crammed in a small hallway waiting on what to do next. It really feels like they tried to cram as many axe lanes as possible and didn't think about the other aspects as much. I enjoyed the theming of the place--all the areas are named after national parks. They do have a private room to rent out, but I think it is significantly more expensive than a regular lane. However, as crowded as this place was, if you have a large group that may be the most comfortable way to go. I enjoyed my visit, but next time I would definitely try to go at an off peak time.

This was my first time axe throwing and I really enjoyed myself. I went with my sister and 60 year old mom and everyone had a blast. Wes was our coach and he was super helpful. If you're ever in the Marietta Area check them out.

Bull's eye during his first game!

Such a great family night! Perfectly safe while also feeling just dangerous enough to be fun. Our coach provided a great combination of quick safety discussion on the front end then helpful throwing tips throughout our time.

Ask the Community - American Axes

What are the prices?

It depends on group size. Single thrower prices are $25 per person, but the rate decreases the larger the group with the first price break at 6 people where the number is $20 per person. Larger groups have party discounts.

This is great fun! I…read morehave brought dates here, my boys here and we have all enjoyed it!! The facility is great... the people are fantastic, and I love throwing axes. I'm actually pretty good at it! Make a reservation on line, come on in at your time, they will give you a tutorial, and then some practice time. It is all in the wrist... and then start your games. It is like a big game of darts. I have yet to get beat where I have not let someone win. (Date, my sons, and so on) The prices are not cheap but it is a lot of fun! They have wine, beer, soda, chips and light food... so don't come hungry... eat before you get here. It is Well worth the experience and if you're like me... you'll come back for more.

BTHAT was really fun! They have game extensions past the basics of axe throwing- like Connect Four,…read moreJenga, 21, and so on. The venue is spartan, but nice enough, and the staff are friendly and helpful! We truly enjoyed ourselves for our first time axe throwing. I want to mention that while we had made a reservation for six, we were unable to bring 2 of our people with us. I did not ask for a refund on the other two people. I suppose I could have. However, as this was a birthday event, and I wanted things to go smoothly and easily, I didn't bother. Also, the reservation that I made was for a single lane with the 2 axe throwing targets. When we arrived, there wasn't anyone else there. I'm not sure if it was just because there was no one there, or if they were just being nice in general, but they allowed us to use 2 lanes with 4 axe throwing targets and that made it even more fun! They brought out popcorn for everyone and had a fridge-bar with some canned drinks and snacks. I really didn't take any pictures, but I definitely intend to come back. So, next time; I promise. I did take a video of my sister and her friend losing the Jenga game! Enjoy!
