For my money, this is the best restaurant in the Borgota. I started off with a Goose Gimlet. It wasn't weak, but it wasn't strong. I had the Spicy sausage pizza, but without ricotta. For a side I had the Brussel sprouts. I enjoyed both very much and would get them again. My wife had the Bolognese, which she enjoyed. It's a fun, energetic, but noisy atmosphere. Not terrible, but not great. We got there as soon as the doors opened and were seated right away. I got the half roasted chicken which was delicious. It came with some green bean mushroom sauce. Does not come with any sides, if you want more it's extra. The server didn't come by to check in on us. I didn't really need anything, but would have liked another drink. We got there for our 615pm reservations and even though the place was packed, we were seated right away. Our server Paola was friendly and energetic. We almost didn't have a good experience eating here until we explained our dietary needs and Paola helped us with the right menu items. :) I would recommend the Pei Mussels - Frites $19.00 with Garlic white wine, butter beans, fries, béarnaise, the sourdough crusted Italian bread loaf and the Apple Cider Glazed Salmon $38.00 with Smoked shallots, shishito peppers. What a delightful meal! The service was excellent! Our server Patrick was hilarious. We laughed all night with him. I had the best pear martini in the world. Please get one of you go there! Hubby and friend had markham merlot and thoroughly enjoyed them. My friend and I had the burger which was super yummy and the fries were crispy and delish. As usual another great dinner. We've been here numerous times I've just not updated my review here. We've never had a bad meal here, everything is always top notch! Annie our server was great and checked in with us often.. First off I could just dine on the sourdough bread they start you off with. I love it so much I take it to go... :) This particular night we had the Cauliflower Alfredo for an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious with the garlic breadcrumb topping... perfect For the mains I really wasn't that hungry but I knew I would eat later so I only ordered my favorite Prime Cheeseburger w/ white cheddar, mushrooms, and onions with an upgraded to Truffle fries because they are absolutely delicious here... On the other hand my hubby the Chef who eats on the run can clear a plate before I take my pics ordered the Slow braised lamb shank and cleared his plate of the Parmesan polenta side... He said it was excellent as usual as it's what he normally orders here. We were lucky to see Chef Aram passing through to greet him as we haven't seen him in quite some time. Definitely one of my fave restaurants to dine at when in Borgata!!! Great service and friendly staff! Always get a table without any wait thought we do come early to eat. Food is delish! So much to choose from the menu. Complimentary bread to start with. Love the decor, atmosphere, comfortable cushioned seats, restrooms in the back. They have a full bar and sports games going on. Margherita pizza - one of the best pizzas hands down the first time dining here and crispy brussel sprouts and the special just happened to be chilean seabass! Grilled pork chop was also good. Second time here... better seats with view of the MLB playoffs. Happened to be here when it Atlantic City Restaurant week so took advantage of it. Visited with a party of three on a packed night, and the staff went out of their way to make space for us at the bar--huge thanks for that. From the bar, we had a great view of the wood-fired pizza oven, which added to the warm, lively vibe. I had the special hand-cut tagliatelle--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made in-house. My only wish is that there had been just a little more of it. The bartenders were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The bartender went above and beyond, even bringing us fresh bread, which was warm, crusty, and absolutely delicious--such a nice touch. I am pleasantly surprised by this restaurant--honestly, it might be one of the best places I've dined in Atlantic City, and that is a very small list. I went with my fiancés family for my sister-in-laws birthday, and we were impressed from the start. It was my first time having bruschetta with beans, which sounded a little interesting (lol) but ended up being absolutely delicious. We also tried the sausage board and the spicy sausage pizza--SO GOOD! I had the apple cider salmon as an entree, a few in our party ordered the prime steak cheeseburger, and the rest went with various pasta dishes. Every single dish was a hit. Our experiences at other restaurants in the Borgata and other casinos have been pretty forgettable, but this one really stood out. We loved the entire experience! Everything is just so delicious here and the waitstaff is amazing. I was here over the weekend with a group of friends and shared two pizzas, brussel sprouts, truffle fries and the white bean bruschetta. I don't have anything bad to say about any of it! Not to mention super knowledgeable about the menu AND player's credit/paying the bill, etc. Thought I'd go "lite " and ordered the Celery Root Soup and Tuna Crudo. After our Christmas in Concert show, The American Bar & Grille was the spot to cap off the evening. Intimate, trendy, beautifully designed, and perfectly lit, this restaurant practically whispered, "Yes, here... this is it," as we strolled past others. And it absolutely was. We kicked things off with drinks. My partner ordered the Heineken Zero--the only non-alcoholic beer option on the menu. He's easy to please and had no complaints, but a little more variety for the sober crowd wouldn't hurt. I, on the other hand, ordered a New Mexico Sparkling Brut wine , Beautiful to photograph? Absolutely. But the taste wasn't for me--it was either too refined or too bitter for my palate. That's a me problem, though, not the restaurant's fault. The team execution? Impeccable. It felt choreographed--like watching a perfectly synchronized ballet. The table concierge and managers clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows. Every step was thoughtful, smooth, and left me so impressed I could clap for them right at the table (but I settled for an internal standing ovation). Hospitality artistry like this is what draws me to dine out, and American Bar & Grille went above and beyond in this category. For appetizers, we chose the White Bean Bruschetta and PEI Mussels-Frites. While both were delicious, the mussels stole the spotlight. Picture this: tender mussels in a garlic white wine sauce, paired with cannellini beans and served over a luscious béarnaise sauce, complete with truffle fries. It was a culinary masterpiece, crafted so intentionally it forced us to put down our phones and savor every bite. For the main course, we shared the evening's special: Wild Atlantic Cod in a brown butter sauce with radishes and green beans. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone with this dish was the best decision of the night. The cod was cooked perfectly--light, flaky, and melting in your mouth with no trace of "fishiness." Each element on the plate complemented the others seamlessly, and before we knew it, the plate was wiped clean. Bravo to the kitchen for such a standout entrée. We ended with dessert: Cheesecake Crème Brûlée. Delicious, though admittedly a bit heavy for me. If I were an award-winning chef (and I assure you, I am not), I might scale it back--maybe 75% smaller, round it out, and give it a more "less is more" look. But hey, this is American Bar & Grille, not a tapas bar, and indulgence is the name of the game. Still, the taste was undeniably on point. The Final Word: For $125 (including apps, drinks , entrées, dessert, and coffees), we enjoyed a flawless dining experience in a stunning atmosphere. Didn't make reservations ahead of time so my husband and I sat at the bar but thank goodness the same menu was served at the bar . Make sure to make reservations! We started with the wild mushroom pizza which was made to order from their wood burning oven - so delicious. Next we shared a 16oz prime NY strip and added the crispy garlic potatoes- wow the steak was so tender and juicy , the chimichurri sauce was so good and the portion was enough to get us both full . Lastly we shared their trio ice cream sundae which had brownie bites and came with vanilla , strawberry and chocolate flavors - yummy! Food was excellent and so was the ambiance. My wife and I had dinner plans with friends. We requested a nice table in the back of the restaurant by the fireplace. We started with the fried shrimp appetizer and a salad. It was enough for 4 people to share and both were excellent. I gave this a 3 because of the food but the service deserves more a 4. Server was attentive and replaced silverware after we had the pizza for apps. Waters were refilled and he was readily available if we needed anything. Our party of 6 agreed the pizzas were the star of our dinner. We had the margarita pie and the spicy sausage. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect and the crust was thin. Entrees- halibut special was cooked perfectly BUT two out of the four dishes had way too much garlic and could have used a little salt. The $49 Monday ABG Specials include a starter, a Main & a Side (see picture). I picked New England Clam Chowder, Fish of the day (Grilled Barramundi) & Truffle fries. The Clam Chowder was so good that I finished it with 3 slices of Sourdough Bread. And I was hardly the fish and the fries. The grilled fish had too much salt seasoned and it was way too salty. The Truffle fries was good. I also ordered a Mocktail named Rosemary pear Spritz (Good). Overall, the portions in this restaurant was huge. I was too stuffed after the meal and regretted eating so much. I saw others ordered the Lamb shanks also was enough to share with. Came in around 7:30pm on a Sunday with no reservation. Only seats available were at the bar until 8pm. No problem. Space was cleaned up right away and our orders taken. Woodford Old Fashioned was fine. The pear martini was mixed and poured in front of us with a nice little flourish. And it was delicious with surprisingly delicate pear notes. Was looking for light fare so we just ordered Brussels sprouts, truffle garlic fries, and spicy Italian sausage pizza. Fries were amazing with little globs of garlic, Parmesan, and parsley all around. Sprouts were crisply cooked with a sticky sweet (but not too sweet) glaze. The pizza was a little unexpected - rather than little chunks of sausage, it was a wide slice of what looked like bologna. Pizza itself tasted good but there's a nonna somewhere offended with what they called Italian sausage. Place looked nice and the place was definitely abuzz with patrons. read more

The whole experience went very well while my significant other order to pizza, that was definitely a gourmet attraction. It does have a unique flavor to keep you wanting more. AB&G has definitely changed. Butter salad with strawberries-dont advertise with strawberries it should state 1 strawberry! Prices have gone up with a cut back on plate portions. I used to recommend to friends and family but seriously I am not sure if i will dine there again. Food was decent. Had the winter celery root soup and the apple cider glazed salmon. Some of the people behind the bar were rude to a poker player using vouchers. I didn't like the rudeness and they were definitely not polite to this man. I think we could have done without that. It was obvious some of the people working weren't happy with the busy bar for once. There was the sweetest older gentleman working there and the manager was kind. The space is moderate and feature mirrors to open up the space the bar is the centerfold and it has a nice array of options. As someone who used to work in nyc bars for over 10 years I think the bartenders need a reminder that someone else would appreciate their job. Be kinder. read more

What a nice little gem in the heart of Borgata! This place is definitely not as upscale as the steakhouses but a step above the buffet or Noodles of the World. My mom and I enjoyed American Bar and Grilled immensely during our short trip to AC. We snagged a reservation for this place about a week out via OpenTable. We arrived a bit early and had to wait for our table (which was totally fine), and we were seated at this adorable table-for-two right by the pizza ovens. I would describe the decor as 'modern rustic,' as the color palette is fiery and inviting, and there is lots of homage to wood and wine. James was our server and Daniel was our runner - both men were kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. James in particular was quite knowledgeable about the menu items which I appreciated! The food was excellent - not perfect, but excellent - a solid 8.5 out of 10. To start, I had the season pumpkin soup which was absolutely divine, and we asked of the brussels sprouts could come out as an appetizer. Personally, my mom and I enjoyed that very charred, crispy flavored of brussels sprout and this hit exactly that - although, the vinaigrette was a little too acidic. I think it was because they were served in a bowl as opposed to a plate - the top ones were crispy and seasoned fine, but the bottom ones were very saturated with vinegar which made them acidic and soggy. I suggest serving them on a plate for even distribution! As for our entrees, I opted for the pork Milanese and my mom for the handcut pasta with Bolognese. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her pasta (I didn't taste any as it's not to my liking), and my pork was very, very good. It was huge, well-battered, and seasoned (although the breading was more akin to schnitzel rather than Milanese) and very tender. The lemon-butter sauce left a lot to be desired - it came smack dab in the middle of the cutlet which made the breading (in the middle) soggy. I would have rather had seen it on the side. Also, the arugula salad wilted from the heat of the cutlet so it was a bit soggy. Still good, but soggy! Oh! And I enjoyed their seasonal MMM Manhattan as my cocktail and it was delicious. A little sweet for my taste (and I think I would have enjoyed it on the rocks), but it hit all the right notes! Despite these tiny little hiccups in the details, my mom and I absolutely enjoyed our meal here. We would love to visit this place again if we ever stay at Borgata! read more

This restaurant was on point! We arrived when they opened their doors at 5pm. No prior reservations. We were escorted right to our seats. Service was excellent as well as the environment. Food was good. My only problem was the appetizer of the fried shrimp. The salad portion was EXTREMELY salty. I had to leave that portion and only concentrate on the shrimp. I won't hold that against them but I wouldn't be ordering that again. Everything else was PERFECT! From the service to the whole dining in experience.
