Cute ambiance, service was lacking as they were understaffed, and food was a miss for me. The linguine boil was enjoyed. However, the black cod dish was not. The accompanying rice was good, and the 1st bite of fish tasted like the sauce. But by the 2nd bite, I tasted ammonia. I smelled the fish and it had an ammonia smell. I informed the bar server as she was doing double duty as our waitress as well, and she informed the chef. He told her that the fish was fresh as it was bought yesterday and offered to make another piece. Of course I didn't want to try another piece of the same fish. And that was that. My uneaten meal wasn't taken off the bill, nor did a manager come over to the table to rectify the situation at all. 2 stars for the linguine boil and for the bar server/waitress who did her best. Not the best experience. We had a large party and were seated promptly for our reservation, but it was then 30 minutes before a server came over. There was another party which arrived after us but was served before us. The lone server had trouble with our drink order, forgetting three of our drinks, although the cocktails when they came were pretty good. Our server was friendly and gave us good advice, but had trouble taking care of all the tables. When we first walked in, I caught a faint bad odor. Coincidentally, the bathroom floor was covered with water. I hope it was water. The music was okay, but the rest of the ambiance left much to be desired. The room was dark and the lights that were there were shining right in our faces, making converstion difficult. If the food was amazing, perhaps this review would come out more positive, but no. The food had too much sauce and not enough flavor. The lobster was chewy and the seafood bisque was actually bland. Some of our dishes were cold when they came out. The lobster fried rice app was pretty good, but the rest not so much. A lot if us didn't finish our meals but we didnt stop eating because we were full- we stopped because we didnt want to keep going. My wife and I came here for Valentine's Day what a horrible experience. After an hour and 10 mins we still had no food not even bread. Just our drinks. We ordered two tequila sunrises w casamigos blanco. The one bartender literally wasn't working. She had a pink clip in her hair and just kept complaining about how the manager could do that to their staff. She even threatened to call cops to forcibly remove someone who literally just wanted their food. So our waitress made our drinks. But I honestly don't know what we had. No food whatsoever was coming out of the kitchen. There was a man asleep at the bar. It just looked like everyone was there to complain about a comedy show that was going on but weren't working. We asked for our check and they walked out with a wedge salad A wedge salad. You don't even have to cut it !! After an hour and 10 mins. Our waitress was literally wiping away tears saying she didn't know what to say. It was so bad I kept expecting John taffer to come out and say shut this place down. The inside wasn't bad. 1 out of 5 stars I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at Rife Restaurant and Bar in Atlantic City. I ordered buffalo wings, but when they arrived, they looked dry and tasted unmistakably like lemon pepper. I politely told the server they were the wrong flavor, and she agreed to replace them. When the corrected order came out, I was only given five wings instead of the six I originally ordered. I pointed this out, only to be told that because I had eaten one of the incorrect wings, I didn't deserve a full replacement. The server actually argued with me over one wing -- even though the mistake was on their end. Mistakes happen -- but how a restaurant handles them is what really matters. In this case, I was shorted, blamed, and argued with over something incredibly minor that should have been handled with basic professionalism and hospitality. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for decent service. read more

After ordering our drinks our server came back to tell us they were completely out of carbonation - soda for cocktails and coke products. There was a sirloin on the menu and 8 people ordered it for dinner. Shortly after taking our order the poor server had to come back to advise us they only had 6 sirloins left (it was 6:30pm) and 2 people needed to change their order. The restaurant was empty. Maybe 3 people at the bar and another couple in the dining room. We heard they were changing over management and quickly running out of everything. We did really enjoy our tuna tartar appetizer though and our server hustled to make sure we had food and drink refills (of what she could) throughout the night. The description said it was served in a zesty lemon, white wine and garlic sauce but it was a pretty bland, watery butter sauce without any of the flavor from garlic or zest of lemon or white wine. That was most disappointing - overall lack of flavor made it just noodles. For $31.80 a dish on Uber Eats or $24 in person. Not worth it. I was excited to try Ryfe based on their reviews but unfortunately, this place did not leave a lasting impression for me. I visited for an early dinner with a couple of my girlfriends on a Friday. The bar was pretty populated so we headed to a table instead. Starting off with a drink each, we ordered Tito's & Tea, Quarantini and Spicy Ryfearita. We felt as if there was little to no alcohol in our drinks. The Quarantini had a nice taste however, the Ryfearita did not pack any "spice." What a great new bar in AC. They have a great drink/food selection, music is good, and I love the outdoor seating area. They have a happy hour 5-6 and quizzo on Wed nights. We came on a Friday night, just in time for happy hour - even though we ended ordered off the regular drink menu! Plenty of free parking in the front. The cocktails were excellent (pear gin fizz and Mexican Mule), and the artichoke and Asiago dip is delicious and a must-try. The burger was ok, a little over cooked and under sauced. I had the Grilled Buffalo Chicken sandwich (no picture, sorry!) - which was pretty good, also a little over cooked but great Buffalo sauce (not spicy at all). There was an acoustic guitarist, who was great and played a lot of familiar songs. Packed bar and even some tables dining outside. My experience at Ryfe... my party of 4 sat down at 6, there were a few people at the bar, and two other tables already there before we sat down (not busy!). The entire time we thought maybe we were being pranked, that's how bad the service was. We ordered our drinks, two cocktails and two Prosecco - to which our server let us know the Prosecco comes in mini bottle pack of 3, okay that's fine. We did not receive our drinks for 45 minutes - after inquiring once she rudely stated that the bartender was "slammed" and "I don't make drinks". Then proceeded to come back to our table several times to make sure our order was right, "Prosecco is red wine right??" No honey, it's not. My boyfriend said dirty martini extra olives (picture of the sad pathetic olives) and she came back to check "you didn't want dirty right?" At about 35 minutes of waiting for drinks she came over to let us know they were out of Ketel 1 and they needed to "go get more" ???? We quickly stated no please just substitute we can't wait any longer for these drinks, 2 of which don't need to be MADE they are just bottles!!! I was infuriated, finally she gets around to taking our food order, again my boyfriend said no mayo- she runs back to check " you said mayo right??" NO. Finally our food comes out (before our bottled Prosecco I might add) and the lobster fried rice but good but not chopped up so we had to cut it with a butter knife ourselves. Then our two crab cake sandwiches we were waiting an extra 5 minutes to come out, I see her try to deliver them to another table, I had to call out and tell her no those are ours!!! This girl was absolutely moronic, completely inept, I am embarrassed for her because trust me we were not the only table having these issues. If one bartender on a Saturday night can't handle a FEW tables without causing a 45 min backup, you got issues, the server didn't know her right from left and was not even phased or apologetic. We had to rush eat our food as we had somewhere to be and had already waited an hour to get our drinks and food. The only reason this has 2 stars is because the food was not trash, it was decent, the crab cakes were alright... but I would absolutely never return or recommend this place because the service is in the trash!!! I had a Long Is Iced Tea for a drink, while Chicken Tenders and Truffle Fries were my meal. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars if I could, but seeing it on an early summer weekend I'll round up. We came for dinner on a Saturday night and jumped into the dinner course; the food was good but not amazing. My pork chop could have used more seasoning and less time cooking; my wife's seafood pasta had more than a dusting of parmesan cheese (not typical for seafood?). The wait staff was busy, so they get a bit of discount on attentiveness. The server was inattentive, you can't look at the receipt to ensure it is correct before paying, and we found errors after the fact.
