Cute place great ambiance we were in the area and decided to give it a try. I had the chicken and waffles and my husband had the hot honey chicken sandwich with fries. The waffle was delicious with a hint of vanilla and the chicken was crispy and juicy. We enjoyed the food and the service was good. My wife and I were here for the Mob Murder Mystery dinner for our anniversary and enjoyed it very much. So we decided to check out the Social again. We sat at the bar this time and had great bartender Samantha. We tried the Pub-Chuterie that was okay, but the soft pretzel is awesome. Heard all the hype so I got my first Smash Burger that was again okay. I should have asked for some fixings like mustard or mayo. Loved the fell and look of the restaurant. Our server was excellent, friendly and attentive. My husband had the Rueben and there could have been more meat. The food was not at our table for 2 hours of waiting and when it came it was mediocre at best and the manager couldn't care less about the service or the food. Just had breakfast there this AM. I had eggs Benedict. Eggs were overcooked (yokes were hard) and there was barely any Hollandaise Sauce. Also had some sort of sweetness that I wouldn't expect. Disappointing! My wife had Berry Crepes. Crepes were overcooked. Crispy/burnt around the edges. Bloody Mary was acceptable. They also had a guitar player/ vocalist. The bagel was reallyyyyy good, the lox super fresh served with cream cheese, lettuce, red onion and capers. Very tasty. My sister had steak & eggs said it was great. We ordered takeout breakfast. Two French toasts. A cinnamon roll one, and some kind of apple one. Cinnamon one was fine, however for the apple one it was literally just regular French toast, no butter, no syrup, next to no type of garnish like the other one with powder sugar and it was burnt which completely overtook any attempt of flavor. My husband and I dined last night at 279 Social and it was delicious. We had honey bbq wings for an appetizer and for my entree I had the salmon over lemon risotto with mango salsa and my husband the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. I was especially happy with the Lohr Sauvignon Blanc. It is on tap which I rarely see and it was a healthy pour. The bar and dining area are attractive and our waitress was friendly and attentive.
