Not sure if I'm too happy with this place. They had good service when I was there, but a lot of what they told me was not true about my cart. They told me my batteries and tires were brand new, which turned out to not be the case. I just had to replace the batteries and wires after a year and a half from having them. I kept them up very well too. If they were brand new Trojans, they should at the very least last me 3 years. I tried calling them and getting my initial purchase paperwork but they kept giving me several reasons why they couldn't give it to me. Seems like they were maybe trying to cover that up or just not sure. I would love to talk to them about this just to at least get some answers, but they haven't been willing that's for sure. Wish I could recommend this place, but I just can't. read more

Boy....where do I start! This outfit is horrible! They lie first off! The cart itself is decent. However, most of the outfitting is Chinese junk. I had to get an attorney involved. It was supposed to go 25 plus it doesn't not...where I ride it is 35 mph and I told them it needed to go at least 30...no where close. The first weekend I had it both glove box doors broke. I pulled out and heard a large metal pop. Looked around and the welds on the bag holder broke. The biggest thing to me however and what they lied through their teeth about was the stereo. I specifically asked if it had a good sound system. The sales person said "oh yeah it's top notch". I have hearing loss and need a quality system. It is literally a junk $30 stereo with one speaker under the cup holder. It sounds literally awful! When a song is in stereo the sound on one side is like it's being play in a trashcan 10 feet away. A friend who knows stereos said they buy them in bulk and they are literally $30 apiece. You can't pick up a station. Tried hooking an antenna to it and got better static then before. Now, had I paid 6 or 8 grand for it...I might be able to justify it. I have 16k into it. I thought I will pay more to get the quality I want. Junk equipment. Like I said this is a $6000 cart! Purchased the cart in July 2021. Just like many other reviewers, we received NO manual. Cart ran fine for about a year, then the issues started. Battery has been replaced 3 times. Cannot keep a charge. I've sent 7 emails to American Carts and called and left voicemails, and to this date have NEVER received a response. We called a golf cart repair company to come out and assess the cart and were told that what we purchased was not a golf cart. The repair company was unable to even attempt to fix the cart and told us it could be an alternator issue but they could not tell for certain. I've been contacting American Carts to try to find out where to take the cart to get it repaired or obtain vehicle / engine specifications and they have been COMPLETELY unresponsive. $8,000 and too many headaches later, we have nothing more than a large item taking up space in our garage. I purchased this cart in February 2022 based on the website description. This cart has an awesome look and stance. That's where the positives end. When I received the cart on February 15th of 2022 the delivery was 5 hours later than expected meaning it was near dark when it arrived. Quick test drive in my parking lot was all I was able to do. Seemed okay at that time. Since then, I discovered that it rides like a go-cart where the wheels are attached directly to the frame. Very uncomfortable. The engine is so loud that having a Bluetooth speak is useless. I have sent several emails asking of accessories, manuals for working on it if I had too, and finally to ask if there was anyone in the Houston area that may be able to service this machine. There was no answer from American carts. Without having the engine, transmission, and differential manuals there is no way to trouble shoot or be able to properly maintain this machine or even order a part if I needed to. No parts list. The owners manual is useless as it really only is for describing safety and has no parts lists or descriptions. The fuse box has had a short in it since it was delivered, which requires manipulation to get power to the cart. The battery being only 8 months old will not stay charged. It is a Chinese battery. The engine was stated as being 393cc but is a 372cc per the engine tag. (misleading) Now, either the solenoid or starter are out, because turning the key on supplies power to the cart but won't engage the engine. I have not been able to use the cart as I thought I was, due to the reasons above. When this cart arrive it had 15 hours on it, it now has only 21 hours on it which shows I have not been able to enjoy and use this cart. Picture is attached. The worst part is that I bought this cart from American Carts because I thought you sold an American product, instead I find that this cart is 100% Chinese. Had your website stated that it was Chinese I would not have purchased it. This cart is a total disappointment. I have given them benefit of the doubt for 8 months. If you want a cheaply made cart this is your place, but don't expect any help if you have any problems and live 5-plus hours away. This has been a $12,000 mistake. Buyer beware. read more

STAY AWAY I purchased this cart. https://americancarts.com/product/2022-new-american-elite-gas-400-lsv-cart/ Upon receiving the cart I took it down the street and turned around all worked fine so I accepted the cart. When I drove it around the neighborhood at speed I noticed that the modifications to the cart to make it a 4 seater caused exhaust gasses to be sucked up into the passenger area. The modification also makes it a very noisy cart at speed, the leg protector acts as an amplifier of the exhaust. I wrote this to the company; This is my opinion only and not that of a professional. I feel that the cart was designed to not have the step and muffler guard. The muffler guard is causing the cart to be loud, reflecting the exhaust noise to the front of the vehicle. It also acts as a backdraft that causes the exhaust gasses to be sucked into the seating area. Possibly a longer pipe down below the step would alleviate the problem. I absolutely love my cart but I think at this point I need to trade it for an electric cart due to the modifications required to allow for safe passenger comfort. I will miss the 4WD and the high low range but I don't want to modify the cart and then have no recourse but to keep it. I have 4.5 miles on the cart. We recently bought a beautiful fully loaded lifted golf cart for our children from American carts. Josh and Mac were great. The transaction was quick and easy.
