Depositor beware! I opened a 6-month CD a year ago and was very specific in that I wanted an…read moreaccount that would renew with no intervention, at a decent rate. Well on the first maturity 6 months age the interest creditted was about $24 and since I had no need of the funds at that time I left it alone. To my dismay the second maturity that just processed credit the CD with 0.23 (23 cents!) in interest! Who in their right mind would tie up money for 6 months to earn pennies? This automatic renewal option is thief!

I'm 49 years old I've had a bank account since I was 13 I have been shopping online since shopping…read moreonline was possible I have always used my card online and I've always had the charger show for any purchases I have made I have never had a purchase that was pending payment be removed or dropped as m&T Bank called it before it was paid or before I made a claim that it was fraudulent m&T however will drop a pending charge as if it didn't exist make the money available to you again and then when you think you have money in your account and spend it and a day later the pending charge comes back to pay the business that was originally owed money m&T will pay them and make it a deficit in your account now we're not talking overdraft we're just saying you no longer have the amount of money in your account you are never warned that pending charges will be dropped at some point possibly but they claim it is in the terms and services the thing that they read to you when you first get your bank account and they even have you sign a paper making sure you understand what the terms and services they have just read you are and yet something as important as pending charges for a transaction can just randomly be dropped from your account until after you don't have enough money to pay for it and the company comes to collect then depending charge will go back on your account they will take the money and you will be in debt to the bank for how much ever was taken out of the account when you didn't have any money. Moral of the story is even though they read to you the terms of service agreement ask them is it possible charges can be dropped that are pending and have not been paid or fought against as fraudulent?
