It's making me put a star, but they honestly don't deserve that. A group of us got a bus for an event this past weekend, and had a lot of problems. They charged for fees that weren't disclosed. When questioned, they gave one dollar amount, but charged a much higher one. Fast forward to this past weekend, we were picked up and the driver went the wrong way back to our drop off/pick up location, and we ended up hitting a lot of traffic. We asked the driver if we would be charged the late fee if $336. He said "no, just call and explain that I went the wrong way and we got stuck in traffic." We got the $336 charge, and guess who doesn't want to talk to us, return phone calls, or refund that charge?!? This terrible company!! Folks, there are other companies you should consider before this one. Lesson learned, we should've listened to the other negative reviews. read more

Honestly, I could not have had a worse experience. Breakdown: 1. Booking: Felt very unprofessional. I told the company that I wanted to go to a general area, which of course, the guy tried to price me an extremely high price for the 30 passenger bus. Gave me a really hard time about it- then eventually dropped. He was very, very pushy about booking ASAP. Also, his price quotes changed throughout the conversation. 2. After booking, I asked to go to a location that was only 20 minutes further from where we originally requested- they wanted to charge an extra $400. I kindly explained that we didn't want to extend our bus time, we just wanted to go 20 minutes further. The man on the phone, Mike, was extremely rude and made unprofessional references several times. I called the hotline and asked to be connected with someone new and what do you know- the SAME GUY called me back with a different name, "Adam." 100% was the same guy- he had the same accent and made the same references. 3. By this point I was drained. We were originally excited for the event, as it was for a birthday, but by the end we wanted nothing more than to cancel. The "Mike" or "Adam" employee continued to give us a hard time by sending text messages that were alarming, followed by emails. I received an email that stated "Even though you weren't nice to me at all, I will drop the price of the location change for you." Since this bus was non-refundable, we had no option other than to pay the fee. 4. The day before our bus, which is normally where you can be excited for your event, the "Mike" or "Adam" guy informed me that if our bus arrived 1 minute late that we would be charged a $300 overtime fee... 1 minute late. Awesome! I had no doubt in my mind that this company would mind a way to ensure we were late...which they did. 5. On the bright side, our driver was very kind, he let us play whatever music we wanted, took the preferred route and reminded us it was time to head back to the bus. Although, we were 20 minutes late- which may or may not have been to the route; we were of course charged $300 RIGHT AWAY which was an instant buzzkill. Any other company I've used is flexible on location (you pay by the hour vs. location), extremely friendly and professional in addition to a grace period for OT. While the driver was extremely nice and the bus was clean + spacious- I will never use the company again. The entire process felt like a scam and we had no way out other than to forfeit our entire payment. Leading up to the event I had extreme anxiety because of all the stress that was caused from this company. Absolutely horrible. read more

I rented a Limo/Party bus for my daughters 13th birthday party. The driver arrived on time and he was awesome ( the only reason I gave them 1 star) . For starters, the radio did not work, I had to go back in my house to get my bluetooth speaker for the hour long ride. Once we arrived at our destination the doors would not open to get off the bus. We ( 3 adults and 16 children) had to climb out on the drivers side. While inside the party the driver was able to get everything back up and running. He was very apologetic and sincere which eased my frustration a little. I was offered an extra hour on the bus to ride around the city. I declined the offer because this would have further inconvenience me to call parents and reorganize a pick up time. The next day, I called the company to complain and ask for some type of compensation. The 5 hour rental was $788 . The owner told me the only thing that could be done was to give me one hour free or a $50 gift card towards my next rental... I am not sure WTF I was going to do with that when I WILL NEVER use their services again.. The owner was very dismissive and gave me a take it or leave it attitude. If I could give this business a negative star, I would. And that would still be too good for them. We used them for our wedding and they were JUST PLAIN AWFUL! No AC in the limo (August in DC really does require AC!) and the driver had NO idea where he was going, despite multiple conversations and detailed instructions on how to get to the drop-off point. I was in another car and arrived 45 minutes before my groom and our wedding party! The driver refused to listen to my guests telling him where to pull in, and thus delayed our entire wedding and ceremony. Not only did this cause problems for our photographer, other car service, and officiant (who then had to speed through our ceremony), it left me, the bride, having to drive around for 45 mins waiting for this limo driver to get himself together. The driver then had the audacity to, within minutes of the ceremony being over, come up to me and several of my guests insisting upon a tip! And he wasn't even done with his job yet! When I called the company the next day, the owner was the most awful, rude, inconsiderate man I have ever spoken to. I explained what happened and, instead of an apology-he accused me of just calling so that I could "get a free ride". He proceeded to call me names and then hang up on me. AWFUL! THE PITS. I was looking for a party bus for about 10 people to take us from home to a wedding about an hour into the country. So first off you notice I said an hour into the country, so not really uber/lyft-able. I spoke with Sam about a month before the event. I explained I was shopping around and I gave a very specific amount that we were willing to pay. A day passed and because I had not yet committed (really because I work and was travelling for work) Sam started texting me. He said he could meet the price but I HAD to do it today. As I was travelling for work and at an airport I submitted my payment online as to not read my credit card number to all of the fantastic United travellers I was spending my most intimate time with. I received confirmation of payment from Sam in addition to seeing it removed from my bank account and we were "all set". The week before I event I texted Sam, requesting confirmation. He said it was confirmed and any other questions I can be directed to my contract (which from the start had the incorrect number of people). Wedding day comes, the bus was to pick us up at 3pm for a 4pm arrival. Thankfully I had a build in buffer of a half an hour as the wedding didn't start until 4:30. Here is a timeline of the events. 3pm - bus pick up according to the contract and confirmed on Tuesday of the week before 3:10 - no call, no response to text messages, no bus 3:15 - called, asked where the bus was. The gentleman we spoke to knew nothing of it and requested to call us back after he locates the driver 3:20 - we call again as we are quickly approaching when we will now be late to the wedding, he says there is an issue with the bus and asks " what time do we need to be there?" my response was, the bus was supposed to be here 20 mins ago, it shouldn't matter when I need to be there. He says it's going to be a while. I will call you again to let you know 3:27 - call again, at this time we are developing a plan B of ubers, that promptly cancelled as they don't want to drive an hour into no where. They tell me to take ubers and the bus will pick us up at the venue. I envisioned the same level of communication to come from American Eagle but with greater consequences. We were to trust this company that didn't even bother to call us once up to this point to pick us up at 12pm in the middle of Virginia. I requested our entire trip be refunded, which they refused. 3:30 - As the second of our Uber XL's cancelled picking us up we decided to drive. It was only now that I received a call from the manager who said he would refund the trip, which they did. It was a nightmare. They were rude, unapologetic, reactive. Don't do it. read more

This is so far the most unprofessional company EVER!!!! My friend was on the phone for and hour trying to rent a party bus and she repeatedly said to please send the contract and SAM asked her to pay first and when she called back since she never received the contract from him. Sam told her that... BTW we dont have the bus we agreed on but we have a smalled bus if you want???? What??? After an hour on the phone selecting the the bus for 30 ppl, she asked that wasnt ok and if she they refund her the money. How is that relevant to her issue??? He litretaly wouldn't help her and refused to refund her. She said he litretaly added:" the price is non refundable how about that???" To everyone reading this, do not ever book with them! We got a party bus for my brother's birthday and not what we expected at all!! The AC was broken! The bus was nothing like the pictures and videos they have up on their website and to make it worse a speaker blows out.... I don't know what kind of shitty buses they're driving around people in but it's not right. We paid so much to have a great night but it turned out horrible! The only good thing about it was the driver. He was actually really kind and tried fixing the AC but It was broken! It's 90 degrees outside and you want us to ride in a bus that has no AC. I reserved the deluxe coach for my bday, only to be called days before and told it wasnt possible due to maintanence issues. Needless to say, the next bus I was offered was considerably smaller and had no air conditioning . Also, upon arrival, the light up dance floor wasnt lit in the slightest. This was in August, so of course air was a necessity. We rode all night in a hot bus with no windows to open. Lastly, the sound system went out. This party bus was awful. read more

This was for homecoming.... Not only was the company consistently rude when I called or emailed with them but when I was discussing the contract and wanted them to drop my group at the monuments before going to the dance, they told me it would be $300 more so we Ubered to the monuments and back to the restaurant. And we had the bus until 12 but he would not drive us around. He would only take us to locations (except for the monuments). Also we looked over at our driver and he was TEXTING AND DRIVING!!! The whole point of us getting a bus was to have safe and trustworthy transportation and that is not what we got. I will never reccomend this company to anyone nor would I reccomend to any of you. After some last minute planning for our best friend's 25th birthday we decided to put our money and trust in American Eagle to provide a party bus for an unforgettable evening. We were SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED! The evening started off with problems from the beginning. The AUX cord was faulty so we had to constantly keep getting up to fix it. At some points in the evening we had to have someone holding the cord so the music wouldn't skip. When we got to our destination and got back on the bus a fuse had blown and we had NO HEAT, NO LIGHTS AND NO MUSIC! 20+ ppl paid good money to ride back home huddled together for warmth and on top of that with no music to help the time pass. The ride was UNBEARABLE and a waste of time!!! Not only a bad night for us but for the birthday girl that was so looking forward to her birthday. IF YOU'RE CHARGING 1,000+ FOR ONE EVENING THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN YOUR BUSES AND KEEP INCIDENTS LIKE THESE FROM HAPPENING! The agent gave me an hourly rate and when I asked him what the total would be to include tax, service charge, etc, he asked me if I had a calculator so that I could do the math myself. I went in to check on a party bus and I was made to feel as if I was bothering the salesman (and I had an appointment) He barely answered the questions I asked and he turned the vehicle off while I was still trying to look around. The worst part is, when I asked to hear to sound system, he told me I couldn't because he didn't have an auxiliary cable. I would have suggested he at least turn on the radio so I can hear the sound, but i was beyond annoyed by that time and just walked away. I rented a 20 person party bus for my husband's 40th birthday bash which was a total success! We had a great time and enjoyed our time on the bus as much, if not more than our time visiting a winery and brewery. The bus was clean and had a great sound system. The driver was nice and responsive to my questions and requests. The owner told me that he upgraded our bus to a 30 person bus but we only had 16 people and we filled the bus. We had enough room to spread out which was nice, I'm glad we didn't have a smaller bus so we weren't arm to arm all day. I recommend you don't use this company. Don't just take my word for it, read the negative reviews below. I paid them to run continuous loops to take wedding guests back to the hotel. They interrupted the runs without my OK and then left 30 guests in the dark and rain and refused to bring them home unless I paid overtime. I refused what I thought was a scam. In addition, on the trips to the wedding one driver cut off an old man on a bike and the bike hit the bus. Then one of my guests had to prevent the driver from beating the old guy up. On another, the driver got lost for 20 minutes on a 5 mile trip. I had extensive back and forth with the company afterward to get some of my money refunded and got nowhere. She will charge your credit card what ever amount is fit and disown previous conversation. When asked for her name refused to give not knowing she sent this in an email. Seconded - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Used American Eagle this past weekend for a 40th birthday party. Complete and total fiasco. The driver was late to pickup and had to call us twice to get directions to our house (does this company own a GPS?). When the limo arrived, there was a half full glass of something in the back (eww!) and he ran over the curb and spilled all the drinks on the way out of the driveway. And this was the best part of the evening! Although we had pre-arranged all our stops, the driver seemed to have no idea where anything was located in DC, and at times was incoherent. He dropped us at our first destination (after a very non-direct route), and told us to call his cell when we were ready to leave. We told him we would be 45 minutes tops, and called his cell when we were paying the check. He said he was 20 minutes away! Where the hell did he go? (and with our coats and other belongings in the car). Well, 20 minutes quickly turned into an hour, during which we were on the phone with the rude dispatchers (who apparently thought being stranded for an hour was no big deal) and the driver - who continued to give us a litany of increasingly bizarre information - I'm almost there, the car broke down, I'm lost, etc. At one point, and I think this is the most alarming thing, another person (not the driver) answered the phone and said 'your driver is on his way.' As the birthday party was quickly deteriorating (we had now been standing outside for 45 minutes), the group decided to take cabs to our second pre-arranged destination - the W hotel. We called both the driver and the dispatch and told the driver to come get us there instead (in hindsight, not a good decision since he obviously couldn't find the first place he had dropped us). I decided to let the group go in, but my husband and I were getting increasingly worried we would ever see our belongings again (coats, ipods, etc.) so decided to wait for the car outside. We waited on the corner of 15th and Pennsylvania (not a difficult location to find!) for almost another hour. Again, all the while talking (well, shouting at this point) at the incompetent driver and dispatcher. At one point, the driver yelled at me that he was at the Capitol Hilton and where were we? WTF? I asked why he was at the Hilton and he said 'you told me you were near the White House.' It was surreal and personally, my gut feeling was that the driver was on something. Finally, after a total of 2 hours wasted time, we spotted the limo on 14th street (at this point we had lookouts on various corners of the block encompassing the Willard/W complex). I'm not sure what was up with the driver - he was either mentally incapable of performing the job, or under the influence. In any event, we decided for personal safety reasons to remove our belongings from the limo, and take cabs home. The night was completely ruined. This was a HUGE deal - not only did we lose the money (although we are disputing the charges with our credit card company), but we ruined an important event, incurred babysitting fees for multiple couples, and had to pay for cabs home as we were stranded in the city. I would NEVER get in a car run by this company again. If your event is important, stay away. And parents, if you value your children's safety, please do not consider using this company for proms, no matter how good of a price they quote you. They hire drivers that can not be trusted to get your children safely to their destination. (The Yelp software, BTW, requires you to give at least one star but I don't want anyone for one minute to think this operation deservers a star) read more

If I could give this company no stars I would! My husband rented a party bus through this company for his 32nd Birthday. Not only did the driver arrive late but the bus was not the size we paid for and the sound equipment did not work. We tried to contact the company to get the difference in pricing for the bus sizes and we received the run around. Not only did no one want to compensate us, but the people introducing themselves as management were totally unprofessional and some of the comments they made were derogatory in manner. They really lacked the customer service attributes they need in such a profession as theirs. We have never been treated by any business in such a way as they treated us. My experience with the transportation aspect of the company was less than positive- the equipment used for the first leg of my transfer overheated and my party was stranded on the side of the road. However, our driver was fantastic, and took care to make sure that accommodations were made for the rest of our trip, including upgrading us to a much nicer vehicle for the second leg. The following day, upon emailing and contacting their customer support, I received a call from the Supervisor on duty, explaining the situation and why our transit was delayed. He clearly explained why the dispatcher we had dealt with was stressed, and was willing to provide for solutions to retain my business in the future. The first transport itself was not up to par, and therefore I cannot give a full five star rating. However, the second transport, the driver, and the customer service team I dealt with on the following day were professional and courteous. I booked the party bus last minute for my birthday...like 5 days before. It was easy to communicate with them over email and best price. They drove into DC and picked me up at the Nats stadium, on a game day, and with the cherry blossom festival going on. Friendly and drove us from DC-Alrington-Old Town-Annandale. I think they are definitely striving to improve their business and it showed on this end! Ran a bit over because a girlfriend forgot their purse at the 2nd to last bar and we had to go back, but no extra charge! Very grateful! read more

Very dissatisfied with my rental. I was promised a White Party Bus and the driver pulled up to my event in a Hot Pink Bus. I felt very embarrassed as my event was not some bachelorette party but an event with both men and women involved. I called prior to my event to make changes to my destination that was in route and within the hours of my request and they charged me an additional $200.00. They say they charge by the hour but he charge me by the miles and added additional cost to my event. I find this company to be ABSOLUTELY hilarious. SAM IS INCREDIBLY RUDE!!! IF HE CONTACTS YOU THEN PLEASE RUNNNNNN or ask for another sales rep. Some people just should not be in the customer service industry if they can't be pleasant with potential customers. The day that I was planing to pay the deposit was the day that everything went downhill. On 2/23 I let Sam know that I wanted to see the bus option in person and he said okay. On 2/23 he calls me with a attitude and tries to demand my deposit Over the phone and I said I would like to see the bus in person before I pay a $300 deposit. He was rude and disrespectful and told me that I could just look online at the pictures instead of coming in. He barely let me get a word in so I hung up the phone and sent a Email to Mary and she apologized for Sam's behavior and told me that I could come in and view the bus options this evening. Still awesome. My family and I booked a limo semi last minute for a wedding. Our limo was early; we definitely didn't expect to get the 10 passenger Mercedes stretch with such short notice! The driver was great and friendly; helping us navigate through town to find us a dry spot for pictures. The driver showed up on time he was really friendly and helpful with the music on the bus they provided water and balloons on the bus which I thought was a nice touch.
