I came in to do a return on a Friday afternoon. I stood in line and there was about 7-8 employees at the front just socializing. I stood there like...hello? So I was hoping one of them would make eye contact...nope. I had to say excuse me 2x before they realized someone was in like. I work a customer service job and worked retail for 7 years, this is not how you treat customers. I was going to exchange my item but I decided to just leave, irritating experience and I love American eagles clothes too. I'm very disappointed we drove out to see what this location had and from the moment we went in there there was a group of employees just standing around talking never a hello walked around trying to find a certain size to find no one I finally was able to stop a male employee and pretty much just walked me to the pants never asked if I needed a certain size I then needed a fitting room the wonderful Andrea got me settled in a room informed me about sizes said I can order online then when it came to paying still saw the same employees still talking Andrea was now cashier helping customers while we were paying a florist came in and that was the fastest I saw the male employee move to receive them maybe next time I will bring flowers to get customer service and thank you Andrea for the great service all around I will take my business elsewhere and will let family friends know not to shop at this location read more

Hire more employees to organize your store: EVERY SINGLE TIME I come in and shop I find things on the sale rack. MULTIPLE size runs of that style. Get up to the register to pay and they won't honor the price. Insane that it's literally every time. First couple times okay cool, I get it people put stuff back in the wrong place. I don't think I've ever been to an American Eagle in a condition like this. They don't seem to care about the appearance and cleanliness of the location. Clothes were strewn all over the place and racks were so crowded that it was hard to see the clothing. The displays at the top of the shelves were so neglected that clumps of dust were accumulating on top of them. There were not many employees available, so it was really hard to get a fitting room. However, the employees that we found were friendly enough. The lack of employees also meant that the check out line moved very slowly. Honestly, I don't think that the deals here are even worth it until they step up their game. Get some more employees that keep the store nice and tidy, and I'll give this place another shot. read more

I have fallen absolutely IN LOVE with the Camarillo Outlets. When I saw the American Eagle there I was so excited I immediately hopped in line. Walking into the store was like walking into a candy store for the first time as a child. They had an amazing selection that included an entire room dedicated to women's clearance. And they have an Aerie? How could it get any better?! The answer? It didn't. It got worse. I gathered as many clothes as my bank account would allow. That's when it all crashing down. The villain in this story is no other than a girl who goes by the name Mary (I don't actually know her name for sure but I'm like 93.7% sure one of the other associates called her that). Anyway, back to the story. As I waddled down the line to checkout, arms full, carrying practically the entire store behind me, I was ready to give American Eagle all of my money and my first born child. I got called to the register by Mary and almost exploded! It was finally my time! As you may have guessed by now, my enthusiasm for American Eagle clothing was not, and I mean NOT, matched by Mary. I believe that this is where things went south. Mary and I were just different people. I was passionate about American Eagle clothing. Mary was passionate about getting me to sign up for the American Eagle credit card. I will add that I use the term passionate very loosely. Perhaps a better word would have unnecessarily pushy. After saying no, not one, but TWO TIMES, I did not need Mary raving about the "many benefits of the American Eagle credit card" to further bring down my high from the amazing deals this American Eagle had to offer. I couldn't believe it. I had gone from the best day of my life to the worst day of my life in a matter of 5 minutes. TLDR I guess the moral of the story here is no matter how great the store is employees really have the power to make or break your experience. So in conclusion, I will not be returning to this location and I blame no one but Mary. I hope Thousand Oaks does better. read more

Insecure employee was just looking for fitting room to try on some clothes and walked into the wrong fitting room and the employee cam over and rudely told me it was on the other side of the store so I walk over to the other side of the store and then there was no one there to open the fitting room so I waited a little thinking that employee would then know to be at the fitting or call someone to be there but nope still rude. So I get into one after another customer try my clothes decided I didnt like the size go get the right size then go to the register and they were out of large bills they just had one's so the girl at the register asked her for the large bills and that employee ignored her. I work at target and am way to good for for that kind of service. That manager should be fired !!!!!!!! All because of some made up shit in her head. read more

Customers who are a part of AE Rewards Program please beware of cashiers Suspending Transaction after you give them your phone number or rewards card! I went into those store on 6/12/2020 gave my information to the cashier and for some dumb reason without my knowledge she suspended that transaction and rung up my items without my rewards membership information. Luckily the proof of suspended transaction was attached to my receipt. When I looked into my rewards/points the next day, 6/13/2020, I noticed my transaction was not documented. I luckily keep my receipts so I went back to look at my receipt and notice the suspended transaction receipt which a had my membership information on it. I called the store to information then the cashiers error and they referred me to customer service. From working retail (6 year's were worked at the Camarillo Outlets) having the knowledge of how to handle an error on behalf of an employee to be some what resolved till a month later after calling customer service multiple times I find so inappropriate. 7/11/2020 the customer service representative manually added my points to my rewards program due to the frustration I have with this ongoing issue. Why was this not done within the 72 hours from the email I received on 6/13/2020 is baffling. I'm still having to deal with this issue about my rewards that I was told would be added. My point is as a customer I should not have to be calling for almost two months now to have an issue, more like a lack for due diligence from the cashier for me to fix the issue. I'm so disappointed and hope that no one has to deal with this ongoing issue as I am! read more

After a long day of work + this rainy day, the last thing I wanted to do was to stop by American Eagle to do a full return for my online purchase, which I was extremely excited for it to be delivered in the first place. I ordered 2 pairs of jeggings that I completely loved on their website, but weren't the best fit when I received them, a tad too loose for my liking. Anyhoo, after a few mins of looking around the store & comparing & finding other pairs I liked in person, I was quite hesitant on leaving this store without at least a pair of jeans, since I've heard nothing but good things from friends & family. So, shortly after, this nice young lady named Jasmine asked if I needed helped, I told her about my online dilemma & she was ever so accommodating. Finally found a pair that I liked & couldn't find my size on the floor, so Jasmine serves me up some impeccable customer service & helps hunt them down. So I left with a cute pair of jeans. Definitely a pleasant encounter after trying to complete a dreaded errand. I have to say I was more than pleased with her customer service & how she took care of me from beginning to end, it surely turned my exhausted vibe around. - Bad to no customer service. - Workers (the few that I've encountered) not very knowledgable on product/fits. - Store is not very well maintained in cleanliness and organization. I asked my brother to stop by and pick up a pair of jeans for me to take on a long vacation we left for the next day. I sent a SCREENSHOT of the PRODUCT AND EXACT STYLE NAME from the website to my brother to show the associate for easy and fast help. I knew they had these jeans there from the locator online and because I had been in 2 days prior also. Lo and behold he gets home and THEY'RE NOT THE ONES IN THE SCREENSHOT. So that means I had to stop preparing for my long trip just to drive the 20 minutes back to exchange them. I understand mistakes can be made, but this is just a case of being unknowedgable about the products in your store. The few days prior when I had been in as well, I had asked an associate about the different length options and what the difference is and she had no clue. If you are a store that offers additional lengths/sizes then it should be a given that you know the information on them or at least have the initiative to find out. Very helpful. Unfortunately I didn't find exactly what I was looking for but with their help I found alternatives. I was constantly bombarded with offers of help from the staff. This was both nice and not at the same time. If I was alone this would have been a perfect situation. but my partner with high anxiety was getting extremely overwhelmed and it forced me to hurry with my shopping. On top of that he was interested in buying some new jeans from AE and once he saw how I was being handled he decided to not look out of fear of being asked every 2 minutes if help was needed. Considering the old reviews I have to say this place has come a very long way from what was said in the past. And I mean that in thee most positive way possible. For the future I do hope they learn to read people a little bit better and just slow down. Very hustle and bustle type of feel through the whole store and that can be stressful when the customer is leisurely shopping. read more

The store was beautifully display and stocked well. The parking at the outlets are sometimes tricky but I had no problems at all. As far as the store I found my size I was looking for. I LOVE this store! Every time I go, I enter the dressing rooms with an AE bag full of clothes! There almost always seems to be a great deal so when I leave the store, I don't feel too guilty with how much I spent! I definitely get the bang for my buck at this one. There could definitely be some more employees there, the line for trying on is usually long because the shoppers are waiting for someone to open up rooms and the checkout line is long too. However, in regards to the stores inventory, cleanliness and organization, I would give an 11/10! Everything is so organized and put together. Keep up the great work! Cashier (ar1972) with the blue short hair has a eye condition or something because her eyes kept rolling back. I was super close to telling her to get out of my face and have someone else ring me out because she kept talking/mumbling under her breath. My patience was already running low with her when I told her I had price adjustments and she only did 2 out of the 4 I showed her. She also had me show her the same pictures more than once. I also asked for two gift receipts and after we had to start again for the 2 price adjustments SHE missed, she only printed one gift receipt. On top of that ms girl over heard me and my mother arguing on what was the $44 cardigan on our total was and once I ask her " what is that " she goes " that's a item I scanned on accident" well....... you hear me and my mother talking about it why not say so. Yep, fill out that article of clothing you so wanted to look sexy in. As always the lace design and construction is a wonderful addition to their quality bras. So, buy this one in multiple of colors. Love this new American Eagle outlet! As soon as I came in, everyone said hello, and asked if I needed help finding anything. First thing that caught my eye was the huge display of t-shirts. I ended up buying two, for $10 each. I found the sale section next. I found one tee, but I wish I'd found more. The ladies in the dressing room were super helpful and friendly. I was very impressed by their good attitudes. There was so many cute things in this outlet, but if I bought all of them, I'd be broke! The only problem with this store is that the prices are not the best. It's still expensive. The whole store is "on sale". I really wish that clearance was a big part of the outlet, because that's what I come to the outlets for; better prices. Anyway, still a great store and can't wait to return. read more

I am so glad an American Eagle opened up at the outlets, because they have very cute and affordable clothes that are great quality, and offer fits for all sizes. Plus, this American Eagle location has an Aerie attached! Another plus. The staff are very friendly and offer help immediately. I never have to look for someone to help me find something, because they have plenty of staff on hand (which I guess can be bad if you're looking to work or apply here) that are all very friendly and open. While I didn't need help personally when trying on a dressing room (one of the reasons I chose not to give five stars is because they have only one set of dressing rooms for men and women, which can get awkward if you're trying on a see-though top) a woman next to me had gone in alone and needed help picking the right jeans. The dressing room attendant probably brought her every pair of jeans in the store for this woman to try, and was so helpful and honest about how each looked on her. I would not have had the patience. All of the workers there are like that which is so refreshing, and this is probably the best AE location to be honest. Another reason why I decided not to do 5 stars is because their sale section is very VERY limited compared to other stores. They probably have 30 of the same, one shirt in every size, which I know is due to what other things sell out in the store, but it's still annoying when your only choices are what's full price. read more
