I've always bought American Eagle jeans for the last 10 years at least, they've lasted me years or until I've grown out of them. I absolutely adore American eagle. I love their next level stretch denim jeans you can literally wear a size smaller so for that alone A+, however, the phone I have the pic with them is they're always out of certain merchandise. Their variety is great. They just can't keep enough of it in. Personally, I recommend they have more fitted tops in instead of these loose boxy I'm 15 sort of thing. There's already plenty enough stuff for the youngsters but their products are expensive but the good thing about these guys is they always have some sort of coupon or bonus points that you can get make it worth your while and not break the bank I HIGHLY RECOMMEND just get more product next level stretch and have it available. This review is mostly a shout out for Liv (5 stars!!!) who was super knowledgable, helpful and patient in helping me find jeans! She spent a good amount of time getting to know what I wanted and gave helpful suggestions. I hope she's recognized for the work she puts in! But while I'm here, I'd give the customer service from the rest of the store a 2, and the clothes they carry aren't as cute/of similar quality as they used to be. The other reviews are pretty accurate with how no one acknowledges you at all in the ae or aerie side, and anything you ask for (dressing room, asking a question, checking out, making a return) seems like it is a big inconvenience to them especially if they are in the middle of a non-work related conversation. Or even if they're standing there idly, they act all annoyed like you're a nuisance for asking to check out. I've been in both stores a few times recently and had the same experience each time, minus the positive interaction with Liv. Also I feel like it's a nice gesture for someone to notice if you're carrying a lot of things and ask to start a fitting room for you. I don't usually expect this service, but I was carrying maybe 10 pairs of jeans while browsing and it was getting pretty heavy and quite a few associates looked at me, looked at all the things I was carrying kinda funny, then looked away. ‍ read more

Walked in on the aerie side and wasn't greeted. Walked to the ae side front then all the way to the back and then to the front (looking at stuff to buy) and still wasn't spoken to. I was like 1 of maybe 3 people shopping. There were 2 associates on the aerie side and 3 or so on the ae side. The ae side were talking about how one was taking a manager position at another location etc. With the lack of customer interaction, I'm not sure it's smart to move that person up. Not my best experience in there but seems to be the new norm the last few times I've gone in. Also the clothes aren't as cute anymore. Or my store just doesn't have a good variety. I love their jeans - especially the skinny ones - they actually fit just like you hope they would and they are a reasonable price (like under $50) unless you catch a 40 or 50% off sale and you can nab 2 for the same price. I don't make it in all that often, but their shorts (which come in a nice variety of lengths) are perfect for the summer and their jeans are just as perfect for the remaining 9 months of the year. As for the accessories and such I don't look much at that so I can't say. Yes, I am sure their demographics are college age and around there, but as long as my ass looks good in their jeans I will ignore their ageist advertising 'cause I'm old enough to know better than to care what ads say. read more

My experience was not good here. The fitting room staff just made me feel like an inconvenience to their non-work-related conversation. I came in looking for jeans. I asked someone how to tell what size I am, and she said just try some different ones on. Okay, I guess. So I go to the fitting room, try on four different sizes, figure mine out, and ask for a high waisted one, and she said to go do it myself. I'm okay with that, but there's a button in the fitting room saying "press here if you need anything" or something along those lines, and they were bringing other people back different jeans so I was just confused. So I find some and come back to the fitting area and I open the door to show my Grandma, and I tell her how I don't like the fit and it's too big in this area and too small in another. The fitting room attendants in a retail clothing store usually jump on any opportunity to help someone find what they want so they get commission or something. The attendant wasn't with a customer and was right by me while she heard me tell my Grandma how I felt about the jeans. She just kept folding clothes. I understand, I'm not bothered, but I felt that it was rude. The sense I got was that this was her place to chat and that customers actually trying jeans there are just a total bother. There was someone there who helped me find jeans in what I thought was my size. She seemed clueless as to how to figure out sizes, but was very helpful and kind. read more

The general manager here is super disconnected from the staff. A manager by the name of Alyssa is very rude and has difficulty talking to people. The cashiers are great! They seem to be very attentive and very friendly! I asked for a size of jeans and they were super helpful even though I could see the stress oozing out of them. I have shopped at AE and specifically this location for years. I've never had a problem with returns or really anything for that matter. But today I was very disappointed. About a week ago in Vancouver I purchased a pair of AE jeans. I had bought them because I had nothing else to wear. While wearing them for the first time, the button on the waist popped right off! Clearly defective jeans. I then safety pinned them to keep wearing them because like I said, I had nothing else to wear. Today when in the store I went to the register to exchange these jeans because I loved them! I handed the jeans with the inside tag still attached and the button. I didn't have the receipt because I didn't want a new pair and tossed it when I bought them. I told her I had my AE rewards card I purchased the jeans with and she looked it up. She went to go find another pair to exchange. She came back and rudely told me that because they didn't have the exact size and style they couldn't help me. Are you serious!? I asked. She told me because I already wore them she couldn't do a return. I took my jeans and button and left. Now normally I understand why they can't take back worn clothes but they were clearly defective! It's astonishing that I couldn't get a return or even store credit. I do not think I will be shopping at any American eagle store in the near future. read more

Mixed on star rating for this review...My son wanted a particular pair of jeans and found them here with help from a solid floor sales associate ( great guy with a blond beard, sorry I forgot his name ). They had a great selection, style, color and sizes. Found the ones he wanted and it was a 5 minute adventure so far! Awesome! Then onto checkout. 15+ minutes wait. 3 people ahead of us. Really??? Totally destroyed my what was a great first impression of this store. Probably the thing that made it the worst, is that after finally getting to register...another associate came to help with the 1 person left behind us. Where were yah 20mins ago dude?? Really, how much can you expect from any mall retail store? It was busy so sales associates weren't immediately available, but very friendly while assisting. It's a good, clean store. I've realized that I'm now on the older side of their demographic.... But when you find jeans you know will fit, of course I'll keep going back! I choose this location because it's closest. However, I think I'll need to stock up during their next sale so that I don't end up annoyed at all the teeny-boppers in the store... read more

Only place I've been able to find jeans that fit me without needing additional tailoring. Works for me! Cashier staff has always been friendly and nice to work with. Otherwise, this is an as-expected sort of retail outlet inside a mall. read more

I am only giving five stars because of Jamieson. A very nice young man was so beyond helpful and reminded me of good ol customer service. He did ask a manager,I believe, for help or to answer a question for him and she was so rude. Why aren't people nice these days?! Jamieson was very helpful, got my questions answered. I love American eagle jeans, they got great! However, I'll never shop at American eagle ever again due to the call center screwing up my account. I come into the store knowingly about to get my free pair of jeans, however, the woman at the front stated that they'd be unable to process my free jeans due to multiple accounts that I would need to merge together. I call the center and they said they merged them and then said I LOST my free pair of jeans that I earned through purchasing through their reward program. Not only that, the new pair of jeans( 3 pairs bought) were taken off! Now I am at zero starting from scratch and management says there's nothing they can do. In addition, one of the representatives on the phone in the call center stated, "OH MY GOD SHUT UP" I was floored as I was only calling to see why they took back MY REWARDS. They may have good jeans but it's not enough for me to keep coming back. I have a sour taste in my mouth about American eagles unprofessionalism and then stealing from me essentially.
