This is the cutest toy store. We were greeted when we walked in. Everything seems expensive but they also have really great brands like Jelly Cat, Speks, Maileg. We saw a lot of "squishies", fidgets, stuffed animals, books, tiny toys and even a small amount of nee dohs they had got in that morning. My kids are 13 and 16 but still very much enjoy this store, this is our third or fourth trip there. My kids made 3 laps around the store deciding what to get before we headed to check out. Both women working seemed to check on us more then necessary, it didn't seem like they were genuinely interested in seeing if we needed anything but more like they were making sure we didn't break or pocket anything, it was weird. We will probably go back again because my kids love to check out the new stuff and they have great inventory but again I feel like we could have gotten anything there for a few dollars less somewhere else. read more

Ok now as a 30yr old i remember going to toy stores for special occasions, i remember getting the toys r us catalogs to circle the things i wanted for Christmas. I remember begging to go and get 'one little thing' i remember getting kicked out of them as a preteen for causing meyham. So i always love to bring my kids into a place like this to see what it was before amazon and ebay! This place was a good size, not all hippy toys either. Legos, blocks, gems stones, sports toys, vehicles, hippy toys (i do like them, but not once your kid hits over 3) Lady working was so nice, we were there the last hour before close and i was cleaning up after my kids, but she didnt even bat an eye. Very kind and very friendly to us all. We grabbed a couple little things and went on our way, but this is sucj a great strip of shops, and across from a good bbq place we like. This place is pretty fantastic. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. And they even do free gift wrapping. Yes you will pay more than anything you buy on Amazon, but the experience of handpicking a tangible gift/toy is worth the extra few dollars. We also had no issues using a Chinook book coupon for $5 off. I recommend this place to any kid out there. Bring an adult with you if you want. :) read more

Was just walking around and decided to take a look inside. Bought two items for my son and nephew. Tons of different stuff to look through lots of items all decent price. I get so excited when another awesome small business opens up in Sellwood that I do a little dance. And I'm not exaggerating. I dance and this store made me dance. Great selection for kids of all ages, which is refreshing. Most toy stores seem to cater to either a younger or an older crowd, but rarely do you get a great combination of both. The staff is super helpful and friendly and the space is calm and filled with fun things to get your kiddos busy while you shop. The store's owner is very generous with the local neighborhood schools and is often assisting in fundraisers. I so appreciate a local business that not only offers a great product but values the community that keeps them in business. read more

Oodles opened in September, but I noticed the signs for a new toy store coming to Sellwood (something lacking and severely needed here) much earlier in the summer. I walked by almost every day waiting in anticipation for it to open. I was there on the first day! Since opening day, I have spent a lot of time in Oodles. I've become friends with the owner Carolyn. I see my fellow Sellwood parents there all the time. And my children believe that Oodles in their own personal toy store. We are not above spending 2 hours there - me chatting with Carolyn or the parents I see who I know, and the girls playing with everything they see. It has now moved to the top of the list of our favorite places to hang out in Sellwood. Some details for those of you who have never been here before: 1. There is a great selection and a wide range of prices. You can find marbles for 25 cents, trinkets for $1, games, toys, art supplies and books for $10 or less, or really beautiful, high end, wood toys and the like. You can find something inexpensive for all those birthday parties your children are constantly invited to, or something really beautiful and special for your child's special occasion. Everything is thoughtfully selected though, so you won't find cheap crap that will break the next day after you buy it. 2. Carolyn is great about exchanges and returns. If you put your name in her customer database, she will keep track of all your purchases, so you don't have to keep your receipt to make returns or exchanges. I can't tell you how many times I have bought something, then my daughters showed me something they wanted instead and I went back & exchanged it. 3. My daughter's birthday was yesterday, and we went and made a gift registry for her at Oodles. She got exactly what she wanted for her birthday because most of her friends shopped for her there. It made it easy for them since most of her friends go to our neighborhood school and live here in Sellwood. So they popped over to Oodles and got her something, instead of having to drive to one of the outlying malls or Target. Now all we need is a pharmacy/drug store and I will NEVER have to leave Sellwood to do anything! Love it :) read more

This was COULD have been a 5-Star review if the customer service were better. They do have a super selection of toys and games, but the owner is a bit cold and not great on following through on a sale. I saw a product I wanted on Saturday. I went back in on Sunday to inquire about a special order on this product that costs $140. I followed up on Monday late afternoon because I really wanted to order it from them. I was told the owner would get back to me on Tuesday. Folks, it's Thursday. When you have a product/service business it is important to be on your game. I will say, that the employee was very friendly and helpful. read more

This is a very cute small toy story. They actually have quite a bit of different toys for a wide range of kids. I bought a couple toys for birthday parties and they even wrap the presents up for me which is very helpful. I later came back to get a volcano said and some crystals that my kids swear are magical. Carolyn did an amazing job with the store. Super clean, organized, friendly and super helpful. Inside the store is open with a calm feeling, high ceiling, like a mini Nordstrom with a variety of toys and sensible price. Everything is organize and easy to find what you are looking for. Went to Super Hero Day and it was awesome, my son had so much fun! They had cupcake decorating, a truly dedicated Batman (it was superhot and he was in full gear), mask and cape decorating, games, photo area, etc. Their store is well stocked and has neat stuff for kids of all ages.
