After our garage door broke unexpectedly and trapped our car inside, I called the emergency service number at around 6pm because the other businesses in the area were closed. I confirmed that it was American Gates & Doors and talked to Oren, who was able to send someone two hours later to assess the problem and give me a quote at no charge. A guy named Ilan from Aladdin Doors & Gates arrived. I guess American Gates & Doors just works with other companies to get the job done. After looking at it, Ilan told me we needed a new garage door installed because the broken one was beyond repair. I told him the quote we had gotten from another company, and he gave me a quote that was a bit lower. Ilan told me that the earliest time for installation was 9am the next morning, but then he changed it to 4-6pm the next evening after talking to some people on the phone. The next day, I got a call from Ilan to change that time to 6:30-7pm, then another call from the installer Oscar from United Garage & Gates to change it to 8pm, then the job wasn't started until 8:30pm. In the end, even though the garage door was installed just fine, the lack of organization and commitment to time bothered me tremendously, and I'm not sure that it was worth a slightly lower price. read more

I found American Gates & Doors here on Yelp. There were only a couple of reviews, but since they were both great I called. The gate to our condo complex only needed a quick fix repair. It was handled quickly, efficiently, and very reasonably priced. I'm very pleased with Oren and Miguel's service and plan to use them for future gate needs. read more

As an loyal yelp user for many things in my life it was natural for me to turn to yelp when the gate on the side of my house needed replacing. After looking at a few listing i contacted American Gate and Door and was surprised that i reached a live person after 2 rings and nothing to push. My contact was Oren and he quickly set an appointment to come over and provide an estimate. I explained to Oren that we did not want a cookie cutter gate and they we were looking for something more contemporary to go with our house. After passing a few photos back and forth we settled on a design and a price. Oren and Issac were on the money with every aspect of the job. They showed up on time for every appointment and executed the vision flawlessly. Yes, there were some minor bumps in the process, but you have to expect that with custom work. These guys are pros, they found a quality solution for everything and my gate turned out better than i expected, on time and on budget. We were having major problems with our gate that no longer wanted to open or closed so we initiated looking for a repair center for assistance in North County. We found that the American Gates services our gate motor and they were able to come out the next day which was great. We met with Owen and was extremely pleased with the services we received especially since this was during the Thanksgiving holidays. We ended up with a new motor at a reasonable rate and was up and running in no time and extremely please with finally having a working gate and a company that responded quickly. read more

Reference for Oren Sabag (American Gates and Doors) To whom it may concern 07/11/2014 During late April and early July 2014, Oren Sabag managed the remodeling of my home in Simi Valley. The house was originally built in 1972 and was transformed to modern interior and exterior design. This included a new patio/canopy, HVAC unit, new roofing (which included removal of old composite shingles), new blow-in insulation to the upper ceiling rafter area. The two bath rooms as well as the kitchen/dining room area were remodeled. Both bathrooms' plastic shower/bathtub stalls, sinks, flooring and vanity was removed and replaced with tile work, ceramic tile flooring, a new vanity, counter top and sink. A new light/exhaust fixture and plumbing fixtures were installed. The walls were completely repainted. New electrical wiring and main switch box was installed along with recess lighting. Ceilings were resurfaced for flatness and repainted. Kitchen remodeling included new cabinets, countertops, stainless steel sinks and Kitchen Island. A computer isomeric drawing was generated so the end result was known before start of work. The walls were painted to complement the cabinets. The back splash complemented the colors of the countertop, cabinets, and the stainless steel appliances. New hardwood flooring and carpeting were installed. Driveway Paving Stones replaced cement driveway and house walkway. New exterior "TEX*COTE" for the outside walls and "COOLWALL" for the eaves and doors. The garage was revamped with insulation and drywall applied to the inside walls. A ceiling was added with recess lighting along with a pull down attic ladder. electrical outlets were added to both the walls and the new ceiling. The truss beams were reinforced to carry the load of stored items in garage attic. A remote controlled garage door was installed. Pantry Cabinets along with work counter and drawers were installed along with an application of epoxy coating to garage floor. The garage drywall was painted. ALL THIS WAS DONE WITHIN TWO MONTHS! All along the construction process Oren provided options of what was possible and the current trends in modern homes. His detail to color selection which included the interior and exterior paint, the new carpeting, counter top and wood flooring help me select a color combination which turned out perfect. The materials that were used were top rate. Oren made sure that all the work was first class. He has a high regard for his customers and would settle for nothing less that he would demand for his home. I was informed at all times what construction/insulation would be done during each week. He helped me select and purchase the appliances for the kitchen. He also helped me with furniture selection and purchase of furniture at contractor's prices. He is personable and a likeable individual. He listens to you and will accommodate your concerns. What I thought was going to be big headache for me ended up to be a good experience thanks to his ability to coordinate all the different trade specialist and skilled workers. I highly recommend him to help with any type of remodeling or component insulation that you may have. I considered myself fortunate that Oren was the individual that presented options and organized all of this work that was done. I am completely satisfied with the finished project. In addition the guy who actually made my gate said this guy Oren basically stole my money. The gate was not properly painted or prepared for a lock or knob. We researched different companies for an enclosure steel fence with 3 pedestrian gates and two large motorized sliding gates for our trucks access. A very nice size project. We found that each person that came to bid on this job had some issues with different aspects of the job that we felt was being left as a window opening for a future revision or upcharge. Others did not seem that knowledgeable and/or professional about it in terms of the materials to be used and the process of executing this project.
