Garage Door Pros is a company that cannot be trusted. When we purchased our garage doors in 2020, I was assured that the springs were covered under a 10-year warranty. That written warranty was a key factor in our decision to use this company. Unfortunately, when the springs failed this week, Garage Door Pros did not want to honor the warranty as promised. Instead, Bar (owner) attempted to charge me a $69 shipping fee per spring (2 springs), an additional cost that is not outlined anywhere in the warranty documentation (see pic). A warranty is a commitment, and when a company refuses to uphold it, it reflects a fundamental lack of accountability, integrity, and values. Rather than resolving the issue transparently and in good faith, Garage Door Pros attempted to shift the cost back to me, despite their clear obligations under their warranty. This kind of dishonesty and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially in a business that people trust with their homes and safety. At the end of the day, I was forced to pay $60 for both the springs shipping costs but thankfully not the full $138 that he tried to scam from me. None of this information regarding added fees or warranty activation was written in our warranty or contract. Customers should be able to trust that a business will stand by its word. In this case, Bar (owner) and Garage Door Pros failed to do so. My garage door single spring snapped with both my cars inside the garage after 4:30 pm one weekday. I was stuck with no transportation. Called Garage Door Pros and they were able to send a technician out to my house within 20 minutes (of course, it helps to call places closest to your house first but your mileage may vary!). Michael came out, patiently explained my options of retaining my single spring setup (heavier spring tension - garage door out of service completely if it snaps again) vs. moving to a dual spring setup (spring tension shared by the two springs - potential manual garage door operation if one of the two springs snap). I opted for the highly priced dual spring setup (two Benjamin up-charge) for mobility purposes. Our garage door in the townhouse suddenly was not working. The top panel bent and we can't operate the door automatically although manually it was working fine. We called 2 garage door companies , both of them told us to replace the door and said if they fixed it , it would only stay good for few weeks. We felt that we need to get another opinion before replacing the whole door (which is an "easy" but expensive way out), and called Garage Door Pros. We spoke to Bar Levy which is the owner of the company. He was very pleasant and asked us to send the pics of the door panel. After few minutes he called us back and said there is no need to replace the whole door , the door only needed to be reinforced with bars. Also he said he sees this problem all the time , while others will just tell you to replace the whole door , the fix is actually quite simple and way cheaper than getting a new door, plus no headache of dealing with the HOA for townhouse complexes. Bar went to get the parts and came to our home on the same day. He installed the bars and voila , the door is now working fine. He also reset the meter error -no charge.
