If I could rate them with 0/5 stars I would. American Home Alarms is THE WORST! DO NOT USE! I had been talking to American Home Alarms for about a week in order to replace a sensor that was accidentally removed when I installed a new sliding door. Because the sensor was missing I was unable to activate the alarm system because it thought that the door was ajar. So the day before they were scheduled to come I confirmed with them the time. I worked the night before and usually sleep in the morning. I woke up at a time passed the time they said they were going to come so when checked my phone I had received many calls from different phone numbers. Initially no voicemail was left so none of my family members answered because stranger danger, am I right? I listened to the voicemail and THEY WERE NOT COMING!!! I scheduled it for a specific day because I was going to be out of town and wanted to make sure my house would be fortified against danger. I even called off of work just so that I would be home for the installation. When I returned their call to get an answer they said that I did not confirm the appointment. Excuse me?! I confirmed with them the day before! Then they explained that an additional confirmation the day of was to make sure someone would be home. If I confirmed an appointment wouldn't you think that I would be home because I told you to come? Also, if I was informed the day before that they were going to call me again the day of to confirm I would've kept my phone with me to answer them. read more

I was on an important phone call when this rep came to my door to use fear tactics to sell me on a system. I said I am not interested and he says "i am just informing you about a local break in." I get off my call and he decides to try to sell me on this system for 45 minutes. I am a sales executive and I was sickened by the sales methodology. I explained immediately that I had just lost my job and only acquired my home the month prior. I did not want the system and, even if I did, it was not in the budget and I was not interested. Those are clear non-buying signals. He then told me it would be a shame to have someone break in when a single, attractive woman was home alone at night. He was a disgusting sales man and if he comes to my door again, i will have him removed him from my property and i will definitely be getting a restraining order. read more

Such a great company! Had a wonderful experience from initial to finish. Charlie came out the same week we made our appointment, he installed several security signs on our yard prior to the security system installation which I thought was great customer service. You can tell he takes pride in his workmanship and do nice clean work. These parasite SOBs can NOT be trusted. When they called me out of their ARCADIA office they released a FAKE location + number on caller ID. How does a call from there identify themselves as being in Campo with a 619 number? When I called back there was an outgoing message saying their number is NOT a working one. When I moved into my new home a couple months ago they flooded me with MULTIPLE calls each day never leaving a message. Any legitimate seller would have left a message on the answering machine or voice mail if they didn't reach somebody on the 2nd call. One day I finally picked up the phone to talk to the rep. After she said their number is (818)276-1854, her "supervisor" Adrian said he would call me back the next day because I told him to let me know who EXACTLY they got my name, number, + address from to call me. It's been over 2 months now with Adrian NEVER giving me the information. Instead they continued to call me for a week following my conversation with Adrian. Obviously they are desperately hurting for business. At the end of that week I called leaving a message for Adrian requesting the information AGAIN. Him blowing me off speaks for itself. It's time for the San Gabriel Valley to run like hell from American Home Alarms in Arcadia. Who knows what else they are capable of doing? I got my alarmed installed by the team over at American Home Alarms. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and the tech that came over to my home was very professional. I picked up their Pulse system that is being monitored by ADT. I was able to get some free equipment out of it as well. I already referred my coworkers and convinced my boss to change their monitoring service and use American Home Alarms to hook them up. The sales agent Cecelia was able to answer all my questions and my tech Mikey arrived to my home early and was able to quickly set everything up. I was very skeptical of getting a home alarm system installed. But my wife wanted to reactivate the system in the house we are renting. So, I found these guys as the highest rated and they came to Mt Washington and installed our system. Charlie was informative, understood our needs, set us up while we made dinner, and had us laughing as he worked and made jokes with us. We even called on the weekend when we had a question. We expected an office voice mail. Instead we got Charlie! He answered all our questions! Charlie even made a trip back out to the house when we realized we had him alarm a window that we like to sleep with open. He helped us set up a second stop on the window that allowed us to sleep and be protected. All at no additional charge. The technician was 2.5 hours late (past their 1 hour window and no one ever called to inform me the tech was running late). The install took almost 6 hours (an hour more than 4-5 hours estimated). The install took up my entire day and I had to cancel a 5:30 pm doctors appointment I should have been able to make had the tech not been so late. The outdoor camera needs a dedicated plug near it's install site (I wasn't told this until the tech arrived) so we had to use an extension cord (not the most secure). Now I need to get an electrician to fix the camera's outlet problem so intruders can't unplug my surveillance camera that is connected to an extension cord running down my front porch into an exterior electrical outlet. The camera picture is very clear but I wish I had two cameras because there are obvious blind spots. I don't feel I got all the equipment I wanted and or needed...but I only paid a $99 install fee and signed a two year contract for monitoring. I would have purchased extra equipment but they weren't willing to make me a deal despite my request (I guess they like to sell extra sensors in bundles of 10 for $200 otherwise they want $50 a sensor). Prices go up more for extra equipment after install, so make sure you get all the equipment you want at the time of install. read more

The wife and I just had an alarm installed by Charlie this past weekend at our home and I gotta say he is an excellent person to deal with. Everything was straight forward and very detailed. He explained all the different options that were available to us and even explained the benefits of each. He was not pushy at all in trying to sell us on features that we might not use, rather he was attentive to what we said we were looking for and recommended the perfect options for us. I recently bought a house and was in the market for an alarm system. A colleague of mine referred me to this alarm company because he had nothing but praises about his service. I gave them a call and immediately knew these guys take care of their customers. The rep was very professional and answered all my questions regarding all my concerns. My other concern was installation. I am a very meticulous about wiring and did not want a "Mickey mouse" job. A night of reading more comparisons and reviews on Yelp, I had serious afterthoughts but decided to go with them. Well, I've got to say, their customer service setting it up, was outstanding !! Linda was able to answer all of my questions and schedule us promptly. Right on schedule, Andrew came to install the system and in my life, I have never met a gentleman as capable and customer oriented as he. Due to some internet glitches, installation ran about 2 hours longer than the 3 hour estimate, but Andrew kept at it and at the end, left us with thorough operating instructions and a perfectly operating security system. These people are plain sleazy. I called them to see about getting an alarm system installed. During the phone call the sales rep, Stephanie T. took my name and address plus she asked me for the last four digits of my social security number. Not being my full SS number I assumed that it was simply for account identification purposes. Wrong!!! She took the liberty to run a credit check on me without warning me or asking for my permission. She dinged my credit score as I already had a couple of recent credit inquiries. I realize that businesses need to run credit score checks to protect themselves from deadbeats. But it is standard professional business practice to ask for permission first! I cancelled my installation appointment and Stephanie later called back and left a voicemail saying it was all a misunderstanding... yeah right! They ask for the last four digits of your SS number figuring you won't think they will run a credit check. That is sneaky and underhanded. Asked for a wired system for my business. The operator was so busy trying to up sell me to the wireless system, didn't send me the prices for the system I asked for. Only when the technician actually came out, did I find out it was the wrong prices. When I spoke to the operator again, she, then, tells me she doesn't know the prices for the wired system; only the technician that installs the system does. Once all this was discussed, they were willing to honor their original quote, then the following day, get a call from the operator wanting to schedule to the install, then...."By the way...can't honor original quote." Forget it. Rather find another company that knows the prices on ALL their products and services, and puts customers first. read more

Run for your life from this organization, like many other reviews we too trusted we would get a wired home alarm system so that it can't be easily hacked like ADT's wireless systems can. AHA said yes they could do it, but then while I was at work they came and installed a wireless system instead (easily hacked) and then they tried to convince me that it was safe (it's not) and that the RF signals aren't *that* bad (they are) and on top of that they tried to hide a very small power cable in my wall and left a huge hole in the wall that they have yet to fix. read more

In the short conversation that I had with Jimmy due to his outrageous SARCASTIC tone (ok-ay) and obvious disrespect by interrupting me as I tried to explain why I was calling, mispronounced my name twice (when in doubt use the last name), then felt the need to refer me to ADT's website when in turn both issues had to do with their companies lack of customer service. ADT is a large successful company, and American Home Alarms shouldn't have the privilege of using their name. Here is an update. The last conversation I had with this company was giving them my credit card to continue paying them money until such time as I could pay a lower cancellation amount. Apparently my account had deactivated during this time and instead of them giving me a courtesy phone call to let me know that they can't continue to charge me, they just sent me straight to collections.
