My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details. If you want a crew that is honest, skilled, and delivers a beautiful finish, call Zach. 1000% recommendation!

Zach made a strong impression from the start--when he came out to inspect my roof and I told him of a problem area, he went up on the roof to look at it! Replacing the roof took only one day, the crew arrived early and worked very hard. I also had the gutters replaced, opting for 6" gutters. The larger size has made a huge difference, as they're less likely to get clogged. My home is in good shape thanks to Winfield Builders!

Mac was very knowledgeable, patient with our questions, and managed the process seamlessly. The roofing crew was professional, efficient, and cleaned up the property well. We had a new roof installed by Charm City Roofing at the end of 2023 because the company had excellent reviews and they were reasonable cost. We have a pretty simple duplex so we expected the process to be straightforward. Unfortunately, what should have been an easy roofing project turned into a frustrating and ongoing ordeal that we are still dealing with years later. During the installation, the workers left 20+ roofing nails scattered around our property, with at least half of them near our 2 year old daughter's sandbox. They broke a PVC pipe (sewer backflow pipe) that stuck out of the ground near the house that they later had to come back and fix. Additionally, they cut into the wrong side of our attic while installing solar tunnels that also had to be patched up later due to a lack of communication with workers. We planned to finish our attic in the future and were assured by Darius that a roof exhaust fan would provide sufficient airflow and that soffit ventilation would be "overkill." It was communicated with the company that the attic would be finished in the future, and that we did not expect an exhaust fan to automatically turn it into a livable space. Two months later, we discovered that the underside of the attic roof directly above our daughter's bedroom was now covered in mold due to a lack of air flow. After multiple missed appointments (there were approximately 5 total over the course of the entire ordeal, resulting in wasting at least 3 PTO days) and failed attempts to get someone out to inspect the issue, they finally came to look at it. They then told us we actually would need soffit ventilation and that WE would have to pay to fix the problem. While they were fixing their mistake, the owner informed us that the roof had actually been installed by third party contractors. After correcting those issues, several months later our duplex neighbor noticed water leaking into her closet, something she had never experienced before. She hired another roofer, who found that Charm City Roofing had failed to install proper flashing between the two roofs which required additional repairs. Now, more than two years later, we are still discovering new issues. We are currently getting water leakage near our chimney due to large gaps between the plywood and poor sealing, which we will also now need to fix. Once again we continue to be chasing repairs and trying to correct issues that should have been addressed during the original installation. If you read this far, I think you can see why we don't recommend Charm City Roofing.

Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. They had availability for two weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so I don't mind the wait. I wasn't scheduled for the 12-4 time window. On the day of I had a work commitment that came up last minute. They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. The technician Isaiah arrived and informed me what he was going to do. Afterwards he sent me a detailed report with photographs of my gutter system. Thankfully, everything looked good and I did not require any additional services after the cleaning and tuneup.

For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Highly recommended.

A nice man came and asked about my roof. A great salesman. I agreed to have his company come to my house and look at my roof, for a quote, after he told me many wonderful things that shot down a lot of the standard red flags. 1. They don't use contractors. His words. You should ask. For me this is a good thing. 2. They have been in business for years. Another positive. 3. They use a lot of products I have heard of, including the windows manufacturer they support. 4. They are not the guys coming to my front door after a storm saying, "we are working on a neighbors house and saw your roof... (storm chasers) 5. I looked em up. I was impressed. Now I had already gotten quotes from 4 other companies. But I was hoping that my membership could be a factor, so Here is where it went awry. We set the appointment and there were several email reminders. Then I get a call the day before my scheduled appointment asking to verify that my spouse will be present for the appointment. At no time had anyone asked this prior. Not the person at the wholesale club, not the person I spoke with on the phone working with the wholesale salesman, not the first person who called me the days before to confirm my appointment. It took until the day before for someone asked. I did not know I would have had to schedule that. So they asked to reschedule the appointment. Now I asked why there would need to be the two of us when I am asking a quote. The only response I got was, "it is for our BBB A+ rating" which they have. But the only times I have had to do this from the first 4 quotes was twice and both were because they were storm chasers trying to get the owners to sign a paper giving them the right to work on my behalf with my insurance company. Now let me say the rating above as 3 is because I don't want to harm the "Peak" status, I merely want to share that this is not a place you call to get a quote. They won't schedule you unless all owners are there. If you are shopping around, let me tell you if you want to get quotes find the companies that will come and look without all parties there. Those are the companies that will send an offer and give you time to let it settle in. Don't let anyone tell you because they want to quote the right roof shingle that they need all parties on site. It is because they want you to sign them that same day. I told the original person I needed a quote and in the end had my time wasted by this company. Nothing was done to my house, I am not saying they are good or bad, just not right for me. Thanks for reading and good luck.

Spoke to a nice younger kid who scheduled an onsite visit for today, 3/24 @ 10a for window replacements and front door replacement for our entire house. At 8:35a, a woman named Lisa left me a vm to please call back asap. I called her back, she confirmed address, appointment time, and what we were looking to get an estimate on. She then asked, "I need to confirm that both you and your husband will be there?" I replied, "no, he works full time out of the house and I work full time from home." She said, "oh, we will have to reschedule as our policy would require your husband to be there as well." UM, WHAT? I asked why is that? She told me because "we discuss design, schedules, and cost." Ok AND? SO? I told her my husband and I have discussed what we are looking for, and any financial proposal we'd be discussing later on before a decision was made to move forward. She just kept saying that was their policy and that if it was reversed, they would require I be there too. Mind you, I gave the young kid my phone number at the show when I scheduled this appointment, yet they followed up by somehow calling my husband's cell phone after I left the show. Peak may have 5 star reviews, but this was super insulting and ridiculous and they have lost our potential business. As a woman, can I not handle meeting with them by myself without my husband present? Really? It is no business of Peak to decide how we function within our house, or how we make design or financial decisions. As long as a homeowner is present, it should not matter. Last I checked, it's 2026, not 1950.
