My wife who was overseeing the work called me to say that they were not doing everything that was outlined. The owner never put that on the work order so it was not followed by her workers. My biggest issue with this companies work was that afterwards the refrigerator stank badly and the safety glass of the vegetable drawers was missing. This will cost me over $80 to replace. I used AJS just a few days ago for the first time and will not be using them again. I personally use Yelp daily and read through many peoples reviews to help make my decisions on what businesses to use. I read several reviews on AJS before picking them and believe that I was strongly misled. Although most reviews are positive, I believe that a lot of people have let the small stuff go without really saying what should have been said. I am here to do just that. I hired AJS to do a deep clean of my home. Typical sunset residence, two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, dining, living. Nothing huge. It is just my husband and I, no kids or pets, so the level of "mess" is no more than a 6. BUT, I do like to get professional in once in a while to do a deep clean that I don't always have time for myself. Given that we are new to the neighborhood, I have not found a steady cleaner yet. I was hoping AJS would be the cleaners for us, but definitely not. When I called AJS, i was a little shocked to discover the price would be $30 / hour. I am used to paying $20 - $25 / hour and thought that was a pretty good rate. Given that I saw some good reviews, my husband and I agreed that if the service was excellent, $30 / hour would be worth it once a month. We both work very hard for our money so giving up $30/hour to a cleaner is not something we enter into lightly. I was expecting to come home and be able to eat off the kitchen floor. That was not the case. To start, the cleaner showed up late. When you are hired to start at a specific time, you show up on time. Simple as that. Would you consider showing up late to your first day at work? I didn't think so. Cleaner spoke decent english, which I was pleased with. She seemed nice. Not at all apologetic for being late. Strike one. Given that I had somewhere to be, I had to quickly rush through the house and give instructions. Nothing complicated, dust, vacuum, clean the blinds, change the sheets, etc. She understood. Given the size of our home, I estimated about 6 hours to get it really clean. That would be more than enough as I could do it myself in 4 1/2 . I left and came back about 30 minutes early just to make sure we were on track as I wasn't willing to pay for more time at a rate of $30 / hour! Oh my god, was I shocked when I returned home. The house was in upheaval. I came home to kitchen not clean, the living room still had to be finished, bathroom blinds had been ripped off the wall, entry table not dusted, pictures not dusted. The list goes on. And this was after 5 1/2 hours. I spoke with the cleaner and let her know that she only had about 30 minutes to go and it seemed like there was a lot left to do. The top of the fridge and kitchen cabinet still had a layer of dust sitting on them, the rug in the kitchen was apparently vacuumed, yet it clearly wasn't and would have to be done again. It was horrific. The blinds in the bathroom that she apparently pulled off the wall cleaning were put back up and STILL DIRTY. As I outlined a few of the items around the house that still needed to be done, she got argumentative with me and defensive. Simply put, I was paying $30/ hour to get my house cleaned, I wanted it done right. I am more than happy to pay for a service that is being provided, but this was not the case. Given that the 6 hours were up, and I wasn't willing to pay another penny for this half effort service, I ended up finishing cleaning the house myself. The icing on the cake was, later that night, got into bed and realized that she had but the top sheet on upside down. Obviously she had no idea how to make a bed properly and put the top sheet on correctly. $30 / hour cleaner and she doesn't know how to put sheets properly on a bed? You've got to be kidding me. Basically, on a Friday, I decided to check around and find a good cleaning company to help clean our very messy apartment that had leftover cat hair from my dear friend's departed cat (about 4 months ago). I was having an emergency last minute situation with my mother in laws house. I called a few places and even contacted the cleaning service I use for my own home who ultimately showed up and midway through the walkthrough walked out and refused the job due to the smell . I started looking on Yelp and called AJS. Natasha called me right back and came out the same day ( Sunday) evening to look and give me an estimate. I let her know ahead of time it was a project and I was already refused once. She said not too worry and informed me she had done some pretty bad jobs before. She was on time , very professional and started the following day. Natasha and her crew worked on my mother in laws house for 3 consecutive days. Loaded up all garbage in the home including cans, bottles,trash, old dishes, old clothes everything you can imagine. She offered compassion and openly communicated suggestions with my husband and myself informing us of things that could not be saved and needed to be replaced. She cleared out old foods from the non working fridge and freezer that had been filled for months and spoiled rotten , the old cat litter box etc... she went over and beyond for our family and was eagerly willing to help get the home the care it desperately needed. We texted during the entire process with any questions that needed clarification. We can not thank her and her team enough for bringing this home back to life. We have used them 3 times. The cleaners are nice and do a pretty good job, but I have two main concerns that I think other people should be aware of before they book: 1) they put everything that is out into the dishwasher. This could be fine for most things, but they put our $200 wooden handled knife into the dishwasher and it broke off the tip. It is still usable, but do yourself a favor and *don't leave out any nice knives* 2) Their rates are unclear and when I tried to clarify over the phone, Natasha was pretty wishy-washy. I had to talk it out with the cleaners, which was awkward. I was happy to pay whatever rate, I just wanted to know what it was specifically. They were two hours late the last time we booked, but Natasha called to let me know, which was ok.. We probably will try them one more time, but will remember to put away anything that doesn't go in the dishwasher because I really don't want anything else ruined. read more

I had to pick a regular cleaner for our work establishment. To be honest, AJS is the only place that got back to me once I requested a quote. I appreciate the prompt and professional follow up. Natalie came to give me a quote which was very reasonable considering the size of the space. I gave her a key and they started cleaning that week. We ended up moving offices late December and they had no issues continuing cleaning at our new place. I only had one issue with something not being cleaned and it was rectified. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with Natasha and her team. The first time I used this company was for my move out clean. Natasha came to my house with two women. She pointed to various places in the house and told them to make sure it was clean. It felt speedy and rushed and I felt bad for the women she brought. She originally quoted 3.5 hours at $70 per hour. Later she called and said she would need at least two more hours to finish. We came and paid her $350 mid-job (cash only per her request) as we were moving out and were extremely busy. When we came back we saw several places that were missed: baseboards, window sills, walls were dirty, etc. I had to call her and ask her to come back. Luckily my landlord was there to tell her what to do specifically. They completed the job to his satisfaction but after all the hassle and being charged WAY over her original quote, it wasn't worth it. During the move out clean I had asked if she could clean our new place. I figured I would give them a second chance. I told her our new place was small and we would probably only need 1 - 1.5 hours. We originally scheduled the clean for 10:30am but she texted me at 9:15pm the night before and asked if we could do it earlier. I said no but if later helped her out then we could do that! We agreed on 1pm and she was 30 minutes late. It was probably a language barrier but when she showed up she said it was a three hour minimum. I told her I still wanted my place clean but we only needed the amount of time discussed. She said it was a $75 minimum and decided to not take the job at all and left. I was already gone at this point when she decided to leave so I asked her via text to leave the keys on the console table and shut the door tightly behind her. My boyfriend went back to the apartment shortly after and found the door wide open! We have two cats so this is completely unacceptable. Luckily he went back so soon or who know where they would have gone. I understand that jobs can take longer, accidents happen and there can be miscommunication. To have all of these things happen plus the added stress of not being able to trust if they will close your door or not is ridiculous. Over all it was expensive and they were careless. They wasted my time and when they could have made an exception to clean for 1.5 hours they chose to lose my business and leave instead, and leave the door wide open. read more

The reason why she got the extra star is because she was considerate enough to call me back and work things out. Let me tell you I have never had in my life got a maid that's been this lazy. When they first came to my house, I told them that the wanted the whole place clean. The only thing that was clean was my bath tub and oven. I swear to god everything else was left untouched.
