I first got in touch with Angela over at Natural Maidens when I requested a cleaning in October of 2016. I submitted a cold inquiry asking for a quote and she returned my message immediately. It was an instantly positive first impression because I had sent inquiries to four cleaning businesses and she was the first to email me back. In every correspondence we've had, I feel like she cares about and prioritizes my needs. I asked for a quote for the apartment I was sharing with several other roommates. I wanted the common rooms cleaned, and preferably within a specific budget. It was awesome that she didn't need to send someone over to evaluate in-person. My roommates and I all had busy schedules and didn't want to draw straws to have someone work from home for a day just to let in a cleaner for a quote. I took five photos and sent them to her, and received a quick confirmation for a cleaning. It was so easy. The cleaner herself was fantastic, she scrubbed down everything and left the apartment spick and span. I was impressed with the bathroom especially - I don't think I had ever seen that bathtub so white. Since moving out, I now use Natural Maidens for a weekly cleaning in my own apartment and they always do a superb job. I like that she always replaces every trash-can liner with the right size, and tightens them around the can so it's not loose and gets pulled off by a heavy disposable. She always wipes down handles and mirrors, and takes out the trash in my apartment bldg (a bit of a walk) so I don't have to. The fact that they use all natural cleaning products is awesome piece of mind for me, especially because I have skin sensitivities and my partner has allergies. I also like to cook a lot and have a small studio kitchen with a shared meal prep and dining table area. I like that I'm never going to place produce, for instance, on a surface that's got residue from harsh chemicals that shouldn't be ingested. After a long day at work, coming home to a clean apartment is a wonderful feeling that money can't buy. It lets you exhale a sigh of relief that feels better than any 5-star hotel room. I have been using Natural Maidens for several years and today have decided to no longer use their services due to their lack of professionalism from their management and cleaners. We have had numerous issues with them and in this most recent cleaning, the cleaner did not show up with a vacuum cleaner or a Bona, which I was confused by. Then I noticed that the cleaner was on a phone call while cleaning with one hand for at least 5 minutes. I brought this up to their management, and this was their response: "Likewise, I have not appreciated your tone for a long time and 100% agree that you should find services that can meet your demands at a low cost, with no insurance or background checks. Just because we are a maid service does not mean that we are your doormat. You specifically negotiated this price down and give us grief about arrival times and not a 5 min professional call to the office. If you think your behavior is anymore appropriate then best of luck to you." If this is how they plan to talk to their customers then I am happy to find cleaners elsewhere. read more

First of all, my cleaner showed up at 1:10 despite the fact that we had an appointment between noon and 1. I'm not knocking any stars off for that, though, because Kimyn was nice enough to follow up with me to make sure the maid had arrived. By 1:15pm, she had, so I was pumped to leave my apartment and come back to a clean home. When I returned, my 350-sq. foot studio apartment was quite a bit cleaner, but after 3.5 hours and $160 bucks (plus a $20 tip) to clean my tiny apartment, I shouldn't be scrubbing down walls, chair rails, doors, and light switches to get dirty handprints off of them. The kitchen sink should not still have crap in it. For Natural Maidens' premium price (and glowing reviews, which is why I was totally willing to pay that price) I expect a little bit more attention to detail than that. I was looking for a bi-weekly cleaner, too, not just a one-time thing... guess I'll keep looking. Bummer. read more

update 2 (8-18-08)- I just had Natural Maidens clean my apartment for the second time because Boyfriend's brother and niece are coming to town. This time the crew consisted of the two beauties everyone has been talking about. They took a lot of time and did an amazing job. I love Natural Maidens, but I'm going to have to be careful about when I schedule them- if Boyfriend ever sees those two young lovelies and realizes how much better they are at cleaning our place, I may find myself thrown out with the trash! I'd give Natural Maidens a thumbs-up based solely on how clean my microwave is. I've never cleaned it myself. Once, when moving, I put my microwave out on the street with a sign assuring takers it was "filthy but functional" rather than face scouring off the petrified remains of a thousand tv dinners. The buttons of my current one were so grimy that I've been pushing them with the knuckle of my forefinger so as to not soil my fingertips. That practice has recently resulted in a mysterious, painful red bump on my knuckle. Hopefully it will go away because I'm back to pushin' buttons with my fingertips as God and the good people at Sharp intended, baby! Natural Maidens also got rid of most of that gray fuzz that accumulates on the feet of furniture and has been the scourge of my life ever since I've had wood floors. My baseboards, wainscoting, faucets, and totchkes are are wonderfully clean. Katie's crew cleaned months of powder and dust off of my makeup mirror, revealing harsh reality- I have got to start moisturizing! Most importantly, my three tanks of fish and one gecko are all happy and in good condition. My only issue with the job itself is with the tub. Perhaps they looked at it and saw that it looked clean (I washed it recently) but I'm pretty sure that they didn't clean it because I found one of Boyfriend's hairs and a sliver of soap I remember dropping when I last showered. My other issue is with the price. Katie and crew don't come cheap. My parents have their 2600 sq ft, three-story home cleaned for $50 less than I paid for my one bedroom, maybe 750 sq ft apartment. And I know what you're thinking and no, my parents don't pick up their housekeepers at the Home Depot. If I had the money, I'd have Natural Maidens come every week or two. I'd love to see what they can do after the initial deep-clean has been accomplished. Alas, I'm not ballin' like that so I'm gonna have to settle for a more "seasonal" cleaning schedule. update- Katie is vigilant! Just now, only six hours or so after I posted my review, Katie (having checked Yelp) called to apologize for the tub not being cleaned and offered to come back and do it. We used Natural Maidens for the first time this weekend and I am impressed. I was worried that my expectations were too high, but was delighted upon our return home. - Dusting (tv console, book shelves, window ledges, picture frames and tops of appliances) - Vacuumed and mopped - Kitchen: hand washed and put away the few dishes we didn't get to this morning instead of just placing in the empty dishwasher. Cleaned the counter tops, back splash and stove. - Bathroom: cleaned the tub, the entire floor (corner to corner) and everything else. Natural Maidens - Feels like hotel living. - Home Cleaning Near Me - San Francisco, California

I only write reviews when my experience deviates considerably from those reported here. We hired them for a short notice (48h notice) cleaning as our regular person wasn't available. They were late, arriving 10 minutes after the 1 hr window for starting that we'd set. Not a big deal for me. When we asked them to take their shoes off, they said they're not allowed to, citing a company policy. Odd, and against our wishes as we just redid our hardwood floors, but we really needed the cleaning and here they stood. What really disappointed was the quality of the cleaning. When they were finished with the kitchen, there was still a small bit of oatmeal gunk on the countertop next to the stove from this morning. Huh? This is the normal type of minor gunk I wipe up nightly when cleaning up the kitchen counter after dinner. Weird. That would be a fine oversight if they were focusing on deep cleaning, but After that I easily scraped residue off the stovetop with my fingernail. Our sink, which our ordinary cleaner makes sparkle, did not sparkle. They vacuumed, but did a poor job mopping. After they left I had to go around with a sponge to scrub obvious things they'd missed. Did a good job in the bathroom. They were very nice and did the full dust-the-trim level of cleaning, which was what we wanted, but overall it just was not a good experience. read more

Finally have the time to review .... I have someone who comes by on a regular basis and I'm very happy with her but I've never requested a deep clean. I thought it would be nice to have both my bathrooms and one of my bedrooms deep cleaned, so I thought I would give a Natural Maidens a try. I was impressed with the attention to detail. My bathroom counter is where I stack my make up, creams etc. I was pleasantly surprised that they moved and lifted all of my things. My husband who never notices anything noticed that the area where he keeps his razor was even cleaner and that the corner where we keep the shampoo etc was especially clean. I noticed the floorboards were clean too. It was a two person crew that came. One person did the heavy scrubbing in the two bathrooms while the other did the office/work/guest room which I don't have my regular person do as it is usually occupied by me or my husband. Once they arrived, I stepped out for a few and when I came home, I found that one off them was cleaning my kitchen since she was waiting on the other person. Ok I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Yelp reviews are WAY overrated for this business. I had to ask them to clean several areas that they completely missed or did a half assed job on the first time and when I asked them to dust my coffee table she took the rag she had just used on the floor and was about to clean the coffee table with it! Ewwwww. BASIC hygiene people, cummon! I was just glad I was there to stop her but it made me wonder how the rest of the apt was cleaned with ONE "microfiber" cloth. My place looked clean when they were done, but since I did not watch them clean every area, I have no idea what kinda nasty cross contamination happened with that cloth. They brag about using all natural cleaning products, but all they use is Simple Green, even on hardwood floors. WTF? This REALLY grossed me out: I needed help with putting clean sheets on the bed and one of the workers did not wash her hands after just "cleaning" for about an hour and as shes flattening out my sheets and rubbing her hands all over my clean bed, I am just disgusted, realizing how I have to remake the bed with a new set of sheets once they leave. I think they have good intentions, but no common sense or understanding of basic germ theory. I am most definitely not an OCD anal clean freak but I want to know that my place not only looks clean, but actually really IS cleaner than before they came. Wow, these guys suck. Bad. Find someone else, and if you are crazy enough to use them, DO NOT give them your credit card information. I scheduled a move-out cleaning on a 1 bed room, 2 bath apartment on the top floor of a standard SF victorian home. No carpet to worry about, no stove/oven to clean, no fridge to clean, just an empty bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Sounds simple enough, and I had several quotes for about $200-$300, depending on the level of service I wanted. I chose Natural Maidens because they said they used all Green, non-toxic and safe cleaning products. First off, very difficult to communicate with. First they want you to call, only to then tell you to email someone else, who then tells you to call them so they can give you the email address for someone else who you need to email so they can call you back. Ummm, what? So I get a quote for $250, and tell them we have a deal. I scheduled a cleaning for 9am on a Monday morning and my gf is there waiting to let them in. No one shows up. We call and get told to call someone else. We call them, and then they call their cleaning people. They show up shortly after that, at 9:45am. Neither one speaks English, so my gf can't really tell them what we need done. We call the company and then they tell the cleaners what to do. Are we getting charged for this time? Of course we are... It took 2 people 3 1/2 hours to clean, after taking breaks to smoke and text on their phones several times. When my gf walks through, the place is clearly not done right. The glass shower doors aren't clean - we ask them about it and what do they tell us? They CAN NOT clean them with the green cleaning products they have, they need real chemicals. So we supply them with some bleach and other cleaning stuff. An hour later, and nothing much cleaner, we ask them to leave. They give us "discount", which brings the grand total to almost $300. Later on that day I walk through with my gf and the owner. All 3 of us are disappointed with the work they did - the place is clearly not clean. We call the company to complain and they kindly offer to send people back out there to make it right, and they would do it around our schedule so we aren't inconvenienced any more then we have been. Wow, that's sure nice of them to offer. So a few days later another 2 person crew comes out, and at the direction of the companies manager, they work for 6 more hours. Yes, 6 hours! We come back after they are gone, and I swear we have no idea what they did for 6 hours. The shower doors we can write our names on in the film on them. The mirrors are still dirty, the lamps are still covered with dust, etc, etc. The next day we get a call from Natural Maidens, not asking us how the place looks, but ti inform us THEY ARE CHARGING US for coming back! Another $600. For those keeping score at home, that's almost $1000 to clean a 1 bedroom apartment. We tell them obviously we aren't going to pay, so they come back telling us they are going to "charge our credit card if we liked it or not". Here is where I'm happy we told them originally that we would pay in cash, and we did not give them our credit card. So of course their next try it to attempt to bill the houses owner. They call and harass him several times trying to get him to give them our deposit. Yes that's illegal, and yes they still tried. I ended up having to call them and tell them to stop calling the home owner, as he's not going to pay them and he doesn't want to be harassed anymore. Hello restraining order? Finally they give up. We're left minus $300 and the place was still dirty. But the home owner was so thankful that we got Natural Maidens to stop calling him, he didn't dock us any from our deposit. So if you tortured yourself and read about our horrible ideal with these guys, I really hope you don't use them. I simply have no idea how this company has any reviews above 1 star. They can't clean with their natural/green products they use. They arrive late. They don't do a good job. They are $10-$15 an hour more then anyone else. And lastly, they resort to illegal and immoral tactics and lie, all to try and get more money our of you. read more

"It's not a brothel," joked my good friend when he recommended the cleaning company called Natural Maidens to me. That made me laugh and firmly etched the cleaning service into my mind. Eventually, the time came when my apartment desperately needed that ole spring cleaning but I still couldn't seem to get around to it, so I called Natural Maidens. I submitted a customized package of what I wanted done but it was definitely a thorough package, closer to the Platinum column of offerings. I live in a well-apportioned but by no means large *studio* apartment and was to pay for 4-6 hours of cleaning. I've cleaned it myself in 4 hours, including windows and mopping, so it didn't seem unreasonable to expect that in that time or given an additional 2 hours a professional could do a much better, more thorough job. I received a call at work from the Office Manager, Priscilla, about 4 hours into the job. Priscilla is nice and professional and I genuinely like her, despite my distaste for what later transpired. She told me that in 4 hours, the cleaner had only managed to clean my kitchen and part of the bathroom. I was a bit taken aback. FOUR hours to clean a room and a half? No sweat, I told her. I knew that it had been way too long since the apartment had last been really properly cleaned so I could see where it would take longer and just really appreciated the thought of coming home to a clean kitchen. I agreed to pay for an additional 2 hours and to scrap the cleaning of my closet and my bathroom cabinet to give her more time to focus on the living area, windows and floors. I later received an email from Priscilla saying that while she didn't doubt the young lady was working very hard the whole time, she was a little surprised that she hadn't been able to accomplish more in SIX hours. She also mentioned that in attempting to clean the cabinet (which I thought we had taken off the to-do list but okay) she accidentally broke two of my glass items. BROKE. TWO. She said they would reimburse me, of course, and that considering the damage and lack of completion, I deserved a price adjustment. Ya think? I called her back once I was home and, luckily, the two vases that were broken were of little importance to me. As for the quality of the cleaning, she never finished the bathroom! The tub, walls, mildew removal, cabinet and window dressings WERE NOT done. Essentially, she just cleaned the floor, commode, blinds and the sill only partially. The kitchen was awesome but I wished she hadn't wasted time doing the dishes (I did not request that service) or putting everything back perfectly when I specifically told her not to waste time on that. The sills of every window were still grey and not white and this is probably the thing I emphasized that I wanted most. With the exception of the kitchen floor, it didn't really feel like anyone had been there. And it didn't smell great either. Priscilla offered to knock an hour off ($200 total) and said she would send another crew to finish the bathroom and window sills. I, being way too nice, didn't even make a fuss that she didn't again mention reimbursing me for my broken items (they may not have had a sentimental value but they had a monetary value) or even begin addressing everything else that hadn't been done (living room floor, spot cleaning the walls, my closet and cabinet that were only sacrificed for everything else to get done but didn't get done, etc.). Two mornings later, the 2 people from the cleaning crew came and I showed them the window sills and bathroom and when she asked if there was anything else I mentioned that if she had time it would be nice to not have to have lost 2 vases for nothing so if she could get to the cabinet, that would be great. She immediately complained that she couldn't do all that in 30 minutes. Wait - what? 30 minutes? I called Priscilla and she thought since there were 2 people that's all it would take. Really? Your lady couldn't clean 3.5 rooms in 6 hours and you think 30 minutes is going to make up for that? She wisely offered to push back their next appointment and saw to it personally that the bathroom (not the mildew though) and windows were completed (though there is still dirt that can be rubbed off easily with fingers). Priscilla also cleaned the bathroom cabinet, which I appreciated. In the end, I got screwed (not to make a bad pun on the brothel reference). ;-) I was never reimbursed for my vases and I paid $200 for an apartment that does not seem professionally cleaned. I will never use this service again and I do not recommend it to anyone. I do appreciate Priscilla's personal attention and for her sake I wish I could say I was happy with the results. read more

After reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, I hired Natural Maidens to do a move-in cleaning once the subletters left my apartment. They had left the apartment in generally great condition - some work needed to be done in the bathroom, and a rug in the bedroom needed to be cleaned, but other than that there was just light dusting. I got the silver package for my 1-bedroom apt. for $95, which I thought was expensive, but what the heck. The crew came 45 minutes late, which meant that I had to wait around for them since they didn't have a key. But these things happen, so I decided to let it go. I left the apartment once they came, then returned after they were done. After a quick look around, the place looked fine, but then again it hadn't looked that bad to start. It looked like they did a decent job on the rug. Then, I got to the bathroom. The glass doors on the shower had been cleaned, but to my horror, that was all. The mirrored wall cabinets - which I had specifically asked them to clean the inside of - were just as filthy inside as they had been before (caked-on toothpaste, hair, etc.). Moreover, the sink clearly hadn't been cleaned because there was still a ring under my toothbrush, and there was dust on top of the toilet and on the tub. Given that I had guests coming that same night, I went out to the store and bought cleaning supplies and spent 45 minutes scrubbing the bathroom myself. NOT what I wanted to do after paying $95 for a cleaning service! When I called to complain, Katie seemed completely unsurprised and basically pointed out that they have a lot of employees with "varying levels" of skill. What?? I guess it's just the luck of the draw. Anyway, she was gracious and apologetic and sent me a $30 refund for the bathroom. For $135, which I was billed nearly three weeks post cleaning day, that marks just one of a few items of inconsistency for this place considering how much I paid for a ONE bedroom in a victorian apartment building in SF! I filled out everything on their fancy web site that I wanted completed, spoke to their scheduling staff member regarding what I filled out on their fancy web site for nearly 20 minutes as there were some alterations (mind you, it's efficient if everyone has the same information relayed to them). I have two cats and I do maintain it but I wanted someone with some more elbow grease to come through. My apartment shouldn't have taken one person 3 1/2 hours to clean. 2 1/2, max! All the down time the lady took really cost ME money! The day arrives and one VERY sweet cleaning lady arrives ONE hour EARLY to the time set up. She is sick with a cold, coughing everywhere and I felt uncomfortable with that completely! I'm getting my house CLEANED by someone who is sick?! She was several months pregnant AND sick so she took several breaks to eat and because she is sick, I offered if she wanted some water and she asked further if she could have some hot water for her lemon. ALL ON THE CLOCK. No problem if in the end, there was notation on the form, even when the lady came to pick her up from the company I said she was sick; nothing. She said to her, "oh, you should have told me you were sick...blah blah blah...." Totally unprofessional to make cleaners feel they should have to work even when they are sick. It's NOT OK to have anyone cleaning residences if they are sick! To back up to the arrival: The cleaner had paperwork from the site that didn't have any information regarding what the scheduling coordinator and I spoke about. I spent over 5 minutes talking to her about that and so that was less time cleaning and I was paying for that as well. Overall, the apartment was not spotless. There were dustbunnies on my wall in the living room and I had to ask her to please get the dust under the furniture in my bedroom (the floor!). Overall, the floors and bathroom were very important to me and in general, I am extremely hesitant to use the company again because the shower was still dirty as well. Why should I have to go around and be sure they do their job? Shouldn't they know that they have been hired to CLEAN? ONE HUNDRED PERCENT, not half ass clean? I wouldn't trust this company to clean properly if I wasn't home, no matter how nice the staff is. read more

If you want to pay absurd prices for a reasonable clean, this is your place. We have a 2 bed, 1 bath home (less than 1000sq. Ft) and it took 2 cleaners an astonishing 7.5 hours between them to finish the job. The cost came to $330 + tip!! This didn't include any cleaning of the refrigerator; insides of cupboards; baseboards etc. It was just a standard clean. There is just two of us, we're not students!, we have a regular cleaner (who was not available)...the point being our home was not very dirty at all. The excuse given for the time taken was that I had asked them to do some extra jobs (which incidentally my regular cleaner does as a matter of course) which took longer. The jobs were to sweep 2 staircases and mop one of them and dust the shutters on 2 windows. 1 of our bedrooms is off limits and only required vacuuming / polish so time saved here made up for the "extra" work. I was not disappointed with the clean as a whole although they left an empty toilet roll on the holder; did not dust cobwebs from walls; they do not hand wash any dishes. I am disappointed at the ridiculous price charged and the time it supposedly took them to clean a less than 1000 sq. ft home. They offered me 10% off my next clean - there won't be another. You don't need to pay this much. There are other well reviewed agencies that charge half to third less than Natural Maidens and are just as good, if not better in some respects. read more

I am very pleased with my cleaning service from Natural Maidens. The person who came over to clean, Nathalie, did a fantastic job. She cleaned every small detail that I had requested, the apartment as a whole was really clean, and she was very nice too. She also cleaned everything I had requested within the amount of time I had specified. I was so happy to come home to such a nicely cleaned apartment. I looked at several cleaning service websites that I found on Yelp. I chose this company for two major reasons: the transparency of their pricing system and the ease of booking the appointment online. Everything is priced right on their website (if you go through the booking process), and you don't have to pick up the phone and call for a quote and verbally tell them every small detail you want cleaned (everything is spelled out for you on their online booking system, like what item you want cleaned). I tend to favor companies where everything can be booked and specified online without having to talk to a human being. Well, after I made my appointment online, I did get a call to confirm my appointment and my requests, but that was fairly quick and painless. They also send email reminders. Their prices are also very fair, which is important to me. They have good flexibility with their time slots, too. If you don't see an ideal time slot online, be sure to call them. They normally pick up the phone pretty fast (the two times I've had to call, or maybe it was only once). I like the weekend and early morning appointments (8-8:30AM arrival), so you can let them in on your way out to work. I highly recommend this company and would choose them again. read more

Like many of us here in San Francisco, I occasionally struggle with the notion that I might inadvertently be turning into some kind of privileged bourgeois douchebag, more so since I live next to the Marina, fabled land of Those Who Don't Tip Their Pizza Delivery Driver. The notion of having a "cleaning lady," even one who came by every month just to handle the stuff my housemates and I don't seem to have the time or energy for, felt strange. I should have done this a long time ago. Veronika, who has never been anything but punctual, efficient, and cheerful, is basically made of magic, and here I'm talking about the kind you see in commercials for household cleaning products where someone uncaps a bottle and cartoon characters pop out and scour the entire house in the blink of an eye. It's like she pushes some kind of reset button on our kitchen and living room, and suddenly we're living in a new house. It's amazing, I tell you. The fact that Natural Maidens makes exclusive use of environmentally-friendly cleaning agents is just a nice bonus. I no longer worry about being a yuppie stereotype; I'm just happy to live in a house to which I can invite people with pride. read more

So frustrated! Seemed nice at first on the phone but good luck having the maid actually show up. If they do, look at 30 minutes of waiting. It would not be that bad if it was once a month. I signed up for maid service once a week! So 4 times a month I have to worry if they show up or if they do being 30 minutes late. I do not understand why it is so hard to show up for a job you get $40 an hour for plus tip. I mean really? I have a small 1 bed 1.5 bath and I needed a maid to come once a week. In the last month she has been late EVERY time, not just late but 30 minutes late. Called out sick twice and it has not even been a full month! Privacy warning: the cleaning crew takes pictures of your condo without permission. First time used their service, it was a disappointing experience and will never try it again. Price-wise this is on the very expensive side, but the cleaning quality is just on the okay level, not even an acceptable quality, they didn't dry properly my ice tray of refrigerator before putting it back, so now the whole box was destroyed, mixed with cleaner and odd smell; one of my window blinds was broken after they cleaned it; they didn't wipe the bottom of microwave and my oven smells like a chemical box, not sure how they cleaned it. Cleaning crew, they were just okay, but they took pictures of my condo without permission, we didn't even notice it until their office crew told me so, I do have privacy concern on it, how could you take pictures of a private residential home while you were working ??? and until now I am not sure if they delete it or not. No matter what's the reason you had, you can discuss with your client or let your management team contact your client, not just taking photos without informing the owner; this is a courtesy when you are in other people's home. Natural product as they claimed? I doubt as I can smell chemical cleaner from my oven now and what they used for cleaning you can't really tell the brand, all the bottles are the same, they mentioned they use BONA for the hardwood floor, but during the whole working hours, I didn't see any of it, they used mopping clothes with water and nothing else, and ALL of my appliances smell so bad now. Communication-bad, every time you call their customer service, you have to repeat everything, then the answer is always "someone from schedule team will reach you out when they are available." this is so frustrating, and they are not honest as you expect, as I mentioned in the beginning, they didn't finish our deep cleaning on that day, so they told me there will be another team coming tomorrow to finish it and their office team will call me shortly, first of all, they didn't so I called back to schedule the make-up cleaning then they didn't mention "additional fee" as another service until I called again to reschedule it, then I realized they will charge us for another cleaning fee as they reckon the unfinished one is acceptable !! The worst part is they haven't had the number in mind, they told me it depends on the scope of work, could be half or the full price of the deep cleaning; what a surprise to me. Plus they charged us when the cleaning wasn't completed! If you care about your privacy and you have good appliances at home, do not use it and be aware of it---they take photos without permission. read more

I have a studio apartment and for $135 (a "3 hour cleaning") , they cleaned my kitchen and bathtub only. The kitchen floor was not cleaned and there were surfaces that hadn't been cleaned. They didn't touch the main room, or the rest of my bathroom. Seems that you don't get that much compared to what I've had in the past. When I complained, they suggested I schedule a maid to come for 'more time,' meaning I should give them more $ to finish the job. There are far better options out there in SF for cleaning. read more

I've been using Natural Maidens for about two months now on a regular basis. I own two delightful dogs who shed everywhere, so every Friday morning an awesome crew of two come to my home for 2 hours and vaccum, mop, dust my house. In two hours my 3BR/3Bath home is great. The two hours also includes a thorough cleaning of the 3 bathrooms, and my kitchen. I'm kind of nit-picky, and want them to focus on the dust and fur so I typically do a pre-clean where I get all my crap out of the way. (aka - I shove things in drawers and the closet.) I can't speak for the services in-depth cleaning but I've been really happy so far. I pay about $130-ish for the two people for 2 hours. At the end of the cleaning I'm always asked if I'd like to look around and make sure everything looks perfect. It always looks perfect, they even fold my towels in my bathroom nicely - and I'm kind of a sucker for that. Great weekly/bi-weekly service with friendly staff. So I don't know how this company is ranked at the top. First of all, I've tried them twice. You pay by the hour. They give you an estimate and tell you that the first time will take a little longer because they need to learn the lay of the land of your home. But the second time they come, it should be quicker. It was not. The first time it took 2.5 hours, the second time it took 3.5 hours. They also sent me a different person the second time, even though I requested the same chick from the first visit. But that's not the creepy part. The creepy part is that these women get dropped off with their own cleaning supplies by a guy in an unmarked van or truck. They call him to pick them up when they are finished which makes it look like he's their pimp. Of the two women I had, neither was native English speaking, although the one's English was quite good. Lastly, the service never called to get feedback about either cleaning. For a small business, customer service should be a #1 priority. A small business is based on referrals, not Yelp reviews. Apparently they are so busy with new customers, they have no time to follow up with existing. read more

I was in the market to hire a cleaning service when suddenly a Plum District deal appeared for 50% off two hours of cleaning from Natural Maidens. I jumped at the chance and am quite pleased that I did. Communication was great throughout the process - they let me make the appointment five days out even though the coupon said appointments must be made at least a week in advance and they squeezed me in on a Saturday, their busiest day. I know, that all means nothing if they didn't do a good job on the cleaning. Well folks, after only two hours they made my apartment sparkle. I probably haven't cleaned thoroughly in months yet when they got through it was as though I had a brand new swinging bachelor pad. And did I mention that they use all natural products? So now you can have a clean apartment and feel like you're not ruining the environment in the process. I was a little nervous hiring a cleaner for my studio apartment, as I have had bad experiences with "not so" merry maids. (One even forced me to clean with her and charged $250.) Natural Maidens has restored my faith in outsourcing domestic chores. Let me explain my situation: I am in my last year of law school, and work as a law clerk 3 days a week and part-time as a research assistant. Cleaning has not been on the "need to do list" for quite a while. The dust in my apartment was becoming a health hazard, and I was forced in invest in mass amounts of Claratin D to breathe. I actually joined a gym at the Embarcadero so I could shower there, as the layer of grime on my tub prevented me from being able to shave my legs without peril. Natural Maidens just left and I am still walking around my apartment in a state of awe. Blanca did an amazing job. The tub is a shade of white I have not seen in two years since I moved in. I arranged for a two hour appointment, and they explained repeatedly that she may not be able to get through everything in the two hours to make sure I understood. When they arrived, they did a walk through of my studio to make sure they were on board with what I wanted - and what was a priority. I then left for some library study time. Let me just say that when I got back, Blanca had accomplished much more than I had in those two hours. Even after I arrived she continued to clean - and to rid my ceiling of a spider web I had never noticed. - All communications with the company were friendly and professional. - They drop off the cleaner, so the parking problem isn't an issue. - Felt safe and comfortable the entire time (sometimes it can feel weird leaving someone you don't know in your studio apartment). - There are no hidden charges or fees, everything is explained in detail prior to the cleaning. - Best $90 I have spent in a very long time. To preface this review, I always hesitate and question the authenticity if I see a business with A LOT of 5-star reviews. But let me say that I for one have no reason to NOT give this business a 5-star rating for the cleaning services that I've been provided by them thus far. Another preface is to state that I have never hired cleaners/maid service before, but I've been wanting to try it out. And I have been trying for almost a year by making appointments and scheduling several cleaners out. BUT my previous experience before was THEY NEVER SHOW UP - this is for OTHER cleaners, NOT Natural Maidens. I just couldn't believe on two separate incidents with other cleaners when I have an appointment scheduled they don't call or show up and never responded to my calls and complaints about not showing up. So Natural Maidens on the other hand was a SIGH of RELIEF and happiness when they not only communicate very efficiently/effectively via email and phone but also show up on time and are hard working. Starting from the beginning when making contact and an appointment online/phone. They either call you or email you to discuss your needs and I always get a very detailed email response back and clearly state things. I was very worried about going over too much or how long things would take since I had never hired maid service. But it was so great because you can tell them to cap the total service to be 2 hours or however much time you want. So whatever they get done in that time period is up to your discretion. They show up pretty promptly within the window of 30 min of arrival. And they arrive with all their cleaning products, DYSON vacuum and cleaning rags. There's no wasting time of unloading and waiting for them, they are at your door ready to go. They seem to always come as a pair, usually a man and woman, which I think is a good idea because it's safe for them to protect themselves. For the most part they a usual routine of things they do because they're used to doing regular cleaning services for people on a weekly or daily occurrence. So if you don't want them to do things like make your bed or load your dishwasher and start it then you should tell them. But now that I've had about 3 maid services (about once a month), two of the times I've had the same couple and they remember my nuance/rules so it's nice that you don't have to re-tell them. Overall, a great experience and great job and I found it to be very reasonably priced. For the amount of work and sweat I would have to dedicate to cleaning the entire house myself AND I just saved myself a whole day/weekend and got to do other things in that 2 hour window, so totally worth the cost. read more

We've signed up for a monthly cleaning and been happy with it for last several months. Natural Maidens are great on communication and very responsible. After having our little girl, we just couldn't keep up with the house work any longer. I chose Natural Maidens based on the reviews here, and the prices they emailed me. I was really nervous the first time, but it was amazing! We get cleanings for our 3 bedroom house "when it's needed" (overdue ;)). They are always fine working around our schedules, and in the last year have only been late once. I've always had two cleaners come out for a few hours. They are quick, work their butts off and speak decent english-so they are easy to talk and give directions to. ( I have friends who have cleaners who they really can't communicate with-I appreciate that these guys really listen.) Oh! And they really do pay attention! I asked them to come out a clean because we were having a party-so they paid extra attention to the bathrooms for guests since the party was outside but people would need to come in to use the restroom. The gentleman even mentioned that they work all the time so if I needed a cleaning after the party they could accommodate that. And when I said we were getting everything clean because my mom was visiting they automatically did a more thorough job on the guest room and bathroom. I initially scheduled a 3 hours cleaning, but they only needed 2 hours and only charged me for two hours. I was not at home when they came so I would have no way to know if they worked 2 or 3 hours. Natural Maidens is wonderful!! I have been using them weekly for about 6 months now to clean our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath flat. First, their natural products are wonderful and very important to me as I have small children and a dog. I have had cleaners in the past that I have had to provide cleaning products to, which is a hassle, and/or who don't "get" that I don't want to use toxic cleaners on my floors that my baby crawls on. So, a huge plus in that area. Secondly, they are wonderfully responsive and easy to work with. They respond to emails immediately, are quick to work with any suggestions or changes I request, and I get an email cleaning reminder and an email invoice from them weekly. They do a fantastic and thorough job with cleaning our place, including changing sheets, taking out garbage, deep cleaning the floors, etc. I highly recommend them, and having used various cleaners and cleaning services for over 10 years, they are far and away the best that I've worked with! read more

I helped set up our service with Katie, one of the managers and had them come in to see what our problem areas are. I recently tried Natural Maidens for the first time, at the suggestion of a friend. Natural Maidens came on time, did their job very quickly, and departed. In fact, the two people sent ran out of things to do and had time remaining, so did additional tasks (folding towels, making the beds, etc) until they ran out of those and finally called it quits. I expected the quoted estimate to be a minimum rate, but was pleased to find that I was charged for the time on site, rather than time quoted. I get my apartment cleaned about once a month. This is my go to cleaning service company. They consistently do good work and the price always falls on or just below what they quote me for the job. I really like the fact that there are no surprises when I get my bill. $90 for a studio apartment is steep to me, but then again this is San Francisco so what else do you expect? I've tried other companies in SF that are cheaper and my apartment just never looks as clean as when Natural Maidens does it. I haven't been all that impressed with any of the local cleaners we have hired thus far. If I weren't holding a baby I'd be screaming this from our rooftop. Natural Maidens are amazing! Two wonderful women have just left my house cleaner than it has ever been. They were so sweet, unbelievably hard working and meticulous. I asked if she could pay extra attention to the bathroom and she did. The tiles have never looked so clean. I wish I knew her name so I could give her a shout out. My only criticism is I wish I could fill out the form online each visit to mark specific directions and special instructions. It seems they only do this for the first visit? I believe most of the reviews are over-rated. The three stars are for the amazing job they did on our bathrooms. Kudos for this. However, everything else was pretty lacking - especially the vacuuming. I am big on clean carpet, and the vacuum they used did absolutely nothing. After they left, our carpet was still matted and had all kinds of lint and things all over. Had I known, I would have insisted they use our vacuum. They also missed lots of dust patches such as on my desk. read more

Natural Maidens has been wonderful to work with! I have used them twice so far and will continue to use them going forward. I had to 'let go' my regular cleaners because of an increasing lack of professionalism (not showing up at all because of traffic or lack on parking on the agreed to day etc) and had a bit of anxiety on getting someone new. What a pleasant experience with Natural Maidens! I booked my appointment on line with a lot of time options and with an estimate based on an online check-list. I felt completely comfortable because they immediately followed-up to confirm, and, to put a 'cap' on the expense if for some reason they showed up and there was a miss-communication of what was expected from my online request. I had Carlos and he did a superb job especially with the bathroom. The whole team and experience has been very professional and reliable and now that they have my credit card on file I don't have to worry about cash and worrying about if and when during the day the condo will be cleaned.
