DO NOT LISTEN TO 5 STARS REVIEWS, they're FAKE! Back in…read moreFebruary, before the pandemic started, I unfortunately lost my job and immediately contacted the owners of this place to let them know that my kids would not be going back due to the loss of income in my household (and to be honest, my kids were not learning cr*p anyways). I personally spoke with one of the owners, Mrs. Milly and explained the situation, she was kind and understanding, wished me the best. Fast forward 5 months later in July, 5 FREAKING MONTHS in the middle of a pandemic I get charged$198 from them!!! 5 months after I had canceled my kids lessons with them (keep in mind their dojo was also closed because of Covid, so no one was getting services or lessons, and NO ONE was answering the phones!!!) so I decided to go straight to my bank and fight back the charge. Now these CRIMINALS have been trying to collect payments from me since then, sending me letters trying to collect $198 every month, mind you -AGAIN- my kids haven't set a foot in that place since February 2020, and these thugs are trying to charge me every month for services or lessons not rendered and they're also trying to mess up my credit because they sent the "debt" to a collection agency that won't stop harassing me! I am beyond myself, in disbelief that these people are capable of such a horrible crime, knowing lots of people don't have the income and we are in the middle of a pandemic. What bothers me the most is the fact that WE DON'T owe them anything, because again -yes, I will keep repeating myself- I canceled my kids lessons in February! Please do not give them your money, for the love of God and everything that's sacred, do not give them access to your credit card or bank accounts. They're thieves. I already contacted a lawyer.

This group uses ASF International to bill it's customers on contract. If your child is injured or…read moreunable to participate. They will continue billing you and will not under any circumstances stop the charges against your account ($100/month) unless you spend at least $90 to put a stop order in against them. They don't mention that ASF has an informal policy that they don't allow anyone to stop their membership. ASF International will try different angles to hack your bank account so do not, under any circumstances, allow this organization to have any of your personal information. After you put in a stop against them they'll continue sending you bills. Just a heads up. I like the instructors and the Manager on a personal level. But unless they cut the ties with ASF, it's all downhill from here. I highly recommend the gym from a competitive and sport athletics program, just don't give them access to your accounts or sign any agreements to allow automatic charges to your account. You will regret it.

The bathrooms are clean and there are organizational racks for gear bags and shoes. The instruction is very good and is on a tight schedule, i.e. for kids 5:30 to 5:35 warmup, technique introduction and practice 5:35 to 5:50, practice on technique controlled rolling until 6:10, cooldown and bow out with class ending exactly at 6:15. The kids get to hang around and play on mat 15 minutes before and after class. I think this actually motivates the kids to come to class. The professor is liberal in a case by case basis for kids that have enough strength, technique, to go to the 10 to 18 year old class. They can either do both classes or some parents who have older children will have thier younger kids go to the junior class if they can hang. Attendance varies wildly. I have seen 24 kids in children's class to only four on Fridays, which tend to be small classes. They are very flexible for people who have to withdraw for moving, or even temporarily for an injury. The only two negatives that I have noted is on having two instructors when the classes were larger than twenty in the kid's class. The second negative is that there is limited seating for parents which could be easily resolved with some folding chairs.

My son has been attending the Little Dragons (ages 4-6yo) class here at American Dragon 3X per week…read moresince the fall of 2015. We started him off at another martial arts academy, but quickly moved him here after my husband did some research and found this place. The style they practice is Jeet Kune Do. Since our son began attending classes, we have noticed improvement in his confidence and self-control/discipline. He also is respectful to his elders, calling them sir & m'am, which I'm pretty sure he learned from coming here too...they always stress making sure the students have eye contact when being spoken to and that they always shake hands and say "thank you sir/m'am". They have a monthly mantra (or lesson) to teach children about confidence, integrity, perseverance (never giving up), etc. Our son seems to really enjoy attending classes, and is so proud every time he graduates to a new belt (he just got his 3rd - orange). We love that this is a family owned business. All of the staff takes the time to learn everyone's names and they are all really friendly and personable, not only with the students but also the parents who come to watch class each day. They happily listen to any of the concerns we ever have with our son and his behavior, or anything we need to address, which is very rare. American Dragon offers summer camp, after care, and camp on days when Broward County schools are closed. They offer classes for children, all the way up to adults. Sifu Helena even teaches womens' self-defense courses every so often. They also have gatherings a few times per year (a fall pot-luck and Halloween party just to name a few), which is always a fun time for the students/kids to get together and play. Their costume Halloween party is great! Oh, and they also offer "Parent's Night Out" every month or so, which is great for parents to get a little date night for a few hours on a Friday night :-). Anyway, we definitely recommend coming here if you're looking to enroll your child into a martial arts program. They offer a 6-week intro course I believe (which is what we did before signing him up full-time). And you renew every 6 months (or year perhaps).

Amazing place to help kids become responsible, respectful and confident. The techniques used here…read moreare not just "fighting skills". They teach respect and responsibility in and out of the classroom. Even the ability to test for the next level (belt) is predicated on performance in school, home and class. The parents and their teacher have to sign for the testing! The kids have a seemingly good time in class. They are focused and there is a very even distribution of attention from the teachers to each student so no one student is left out. The owners (Sifu Helana and Sifu Neil) are both readily available and ALWAYS take the time to make each person feel important and address any concerns or questions - no matter how trivial. As a former student, I'm happy and proud to say my children are now students here! ASSA!!!!!!

When I met with one of the trainers (Moe and Sam) they explained well how the gym works, how there's an after hours access for gym members and the group setting cross fit work out challenges. At first this all seemed intimidating but they never did tell me I can't do it or it maybe to hard for me. I started this gym in March 2019, when I started I weighted 178lbs today I'm down to 160 lbs. When started I couldn't complete my workouts due to my lack of exercise. They kept pushing and encouraging me that I can do the work outs and maybe not complete it that day but definitely know there's a tomorrow. A tomorrow with a new set of workouts and challenges to build my endurance and my strength. Today I can say I'm conscience of what I eat, how active I'm and have a new set of friends thanks to the gym community and the trainers Sam, Moe and Ana. For the encouragement they've provided. This place has been my therapy sessions, comedy club, place of empathy and celebration. I'm delighted and honored to say I'm a part of this gym. These reviews on this business are REAL...
