Eldie's Marine has been taking care of our boat for the last 15 plus years. Eldies pulls the boat…read morefrom the water and stores it for the winter along with winterizing the engine and putting it back in the water in the spring. Eldie owns the shop and his son Justin and daughter Kirsten work at the business which makes them a great team because they are a very close family. When I am in Galena I love to go fishing so my boat is very important to me. The one thing I greatly admire about Eldies is they do excellent work and I know I can absolutely 100% trust them. Eldie recently helped me get a new trolling motor as mine was outdated and not functional. Eldie had a boat owner looking to sell his trolling motor which was almost brand new and truly state of the art. Eldie was able to get me a great deal on the trolling motor so I bought it and Eldies son Justin and staff member Mason rewired the boat and did an excellent job of installing the motor which is so simple to operate. If you need work on your boat in the Galena or Dubuque area, Eldies should be your first stop. They do outstanding, reliable work and I know they are going to tell me the truth and give me options to resolve the problem. This is a long time, family run business that does outstanding work and they can always be trusted to do the right thing for their customers.

We will never again use another marina and there are several that are much closer. Jeff is very responsive and is willing to take the time to explain everything. We also use them to store our boat...they have great prices! Kudos for a job well done!!!

I like to give local businesses my business when I can. So on Friday the 21st. I talked with Jarrett and made an inquiry about a boat they were consigning. He said he'd ask the individual that night. I hand heard back from him on Saturday and it was approaching the last 45 mins.. of the shops hours so I decided to ask in person . I couldn't make a deal on that particular boat . At that point Jeff spoke up and referred to a boat he'd would sell me for 2k. I looked at it and told him I liked it but would he take a sporting good item on partial trade. He agreed that he would look at my item .I told him id go get it ( I just lived up the block and told him I could be back in just a couple min. There was 20bmins. Left in his day. He said " im not looking at anything today" and to bring it in on Monday. So Monday comes i pack it up around 945 am and bring it in. I was greeted with im to busy I have stuff I have to get this done. Myself not wanting to take it back home and then later in the day( 3pm per Jeff) load up and come back. I had a few preliminary questions I needed answers to ask him that could save us some time and trouble in the long run. So I asked for just a couple minutes to clear up things. After a couple questions. I got a statement I never thought id hear from a retail dealer. He said Yah know im pretty nice to point and then....) I was like wow a couple minutes and im making you mad ? His response was " you are getting there" I was shocked and per him he wasn't working on something directly for a customer. All I wanted originally was for him to look at my item for a couple min. And we agree on the difference id pay or we wouldn't. No hard feelings . I reminded him that we could take care of paperwork later if need be. I had out of town plans id have to cancel if I waited until he wanted to help me . At that point he started referring to me as "honey" .three different times he called me honey. He finally said what did I want to pay difference. I told him and was counting my item 300.00 under what I had in it. His statement was aFirm " No" !! And he stated that "he doesn't mind negotiating , but he wasn't doing Bullshit" and said come back at three o'clock honey!!!. I work in a boat shop part time and have been in retail many times in my 63 years. I / we never talked to customers that way. I would have been fired. Needless to say I didn't make my three o'clock appointment he dictated. And I sold my item for a fair price and will be taking my business elsewhere. And not be recommending m& m to anyone. I do have to say the only positive was that Jarrett was nice , friendly and understanding.
