Warehouse isn't huge by any means and we were in to get a few twin beds for kids. It was easy to narrow down a choice among the selections they had. The salesman helping us (i wish i could remember his name right now) was laid back, very non-pushy, maybe to the extent you wonder if he wants you to stick around or just leave. He offered the step up mattress at the lower mattress price. Nice deal. We ordered and were told they'd be in that week. We planned to come back Sunday to get them on our way back from vacation. We were coming back from out of state and realized we weren't making it in time. I thought there was no way we should ask the salesman to stay, but my husband called and he told my husband no problem. In the end we were almost an hour past closing time and sure enough he was there waiting. He had no problem letting a couple of our kids come in to use the restroom. My husband tried to tip him but he declined, and asked we write a review if we were pleased. It's been a few months (about 5 now) and the kids still like their mattresses. No issues at all with them. I will definitely plan to return when we need another bed! So the warehouse might look a little run down and crammed, and the restroom even worse, but the customer service and product has been excellent! They are also the Official Furniture & Mattress Store of the Detroit Lions. We went from one mattress to another trying the different firmness with their Aireloom brand. We were provided pillow covers to provide sanitary conditions when moving from mattress to mattress. We tried the different mattresses until like Goldielock we found the one that was "just right!" We started with one salesman and he was leaving for the evening. And just like that, he tagged in another salesman, Willie, who was a wealth of information. So we were not limited in time to make our decision. The value was reflected in the sale at the time, the free offers and the finance option. The 6 month sleep guarantee is a great pledge by Gardner White.

The damage was documented by the delivery team at the time of delivery, and we immediately rejected the furniture. Rather than issuing a full refund, Gardner White attempted to charge us a 25% restocking fee on furniture that arrived damaged. What was even more disappointing was the treatment we received from store management. Trey, the Novi store manager, was dismissive, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for a product that arrived defective. Instead of resolving the issue, we were pressured to accept repairs on brand-new furniture that had just been delivered. Fortunately, our credit card company reviewed the matter and refunded our payments after we disputed the charges. However, we remain represented by counsel and prepared to continue pursuing this matter should Gardner White challenge the outcome. No customer should have to fight this hard to avoid paying thousands of dollars for damaged merchandise. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend that consumers think carefully before doing business with Gardner White.
