Sam and the other guys were courteous and professional to work with. There really are a wide selection of new/used vehicle to choose from. I would recommend purchasing a car with American Motors. The Nissan that I purchased from them is great.

Very happy with the competitive pricing and Blue Book value of my purchase as well as the great condition the car was in.

I came here on a listing they had put online on Autotrader.com. It was quite a different experience than I am usually used to with car dealerships and aggressive sales staff. I believe Samir was the name of the associate that helped me out, I told him what car I was here to see and he got the keys, pulled the car out, and then totally stepped back to give me my space to do my all around inspection of the car. I really appreciated that he gave me all the time I needed to check everything out until I was ready to start asking all my questions, all of which he was happy to answer. Listed pricing of my car was very competitive, within Kelley Blue Book values, and came with a clean CarFax report. The paper work process was a breeze and the fastest purchase I've ever made from beginning to end. If you've purchase at major dealerships, you know what I'm talking about. Just the paperwork will take you half the day. Overall it was a great car buying experience and am glad I gave American Motors a chance to do business with me.

Retaliation text from Ali after the bad Yelp review.
    Catherine J.

On 11/19 Ali texted me requesting that I send him $134 via Cash App, Venmo, or Apple Pay for registration fees. (Mind you, I paid for my car in May. My car was registered in August. It is now November. Therefore, it seems like he is mad about the negative Yelp review and is attempting to retaliate against me.) Nonetheless, what Ali is attempting to do is UNPROFESSIONAL and ILLEGAL. First an foremost, the appropriate and professional way to request money from a customer is via an itemized invoice. NOT through a text message. Additionally, any charges should be accepted via a legit method (i.e. cash, credit, check, or money order -- not through a Peer-to-Peer payment app!) Secondly, and most importantly, American Motor's/Ali's attempt to collect the difference in registration fees is in my opinion, ILLEGAL. Here's why: The difference in registration fees was caused by a DMV late fee. The late fee was accrued through untimely submission of fees and documents by the dealer. When I purchased the car in May, the May 2020 tags were either already expired or were about to expire. American Motors SHOULD HAVE submitted the DMV registration paperwork immediately to avoid fees/penalties, but they didn't. Instead they waited until AUGUST to register my car. Now they are attempting to pass down the fee penalty to me. Below are the following laws that I believe American Motors has broken: Per Cal. Veh. Code §4456 (a)(2) "If the vehicle is used, the dealership has 30 days from the date of the sale to submit the registration application, which must be accompanied by all fees and penalties due for registration or transfer of registration. Penalties due for noncompliance are to be paid by the dealership, and THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT CHARGE THE PURCHASER FOR THE PENALTIES." Per Cal. Veh. Code § 5753(c)(1). "The dealership must turn over the title to the vehicle no later than 15 business days after the dealership has received full payment for the vehicle. The payment can be made by the buyer or the buyer's bank. The dealership must mail, transfer, or deliver the title to the buyer who is lawfully entitled to transfer of ownership." Per Cal. Veh. Code §2982 (a)(2) "Dealers and lessor-retailers are responsible for itemizing and collecting the proper fee amounts from the buyer and dispersing the fees to the proper agency....Buyers may be charged all fees due to DMV, including fees for duplicates/substitutes and fees/penalties that accrued prior to the vehicle entering the dealer inventory, UNLESS THOSE FEES/PENALTIES ACCRUED THROUGH UNTIMELY SUBMISSION OF FEES AND/OR DOCUMENTS BY THE DEALER." That being said, now that Ali is requeting $134 from me, I have opened up yet another BBB complaint, and have reported American Motors to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) (for attempting to collect on a debt that is not legally owed to them), the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), and to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Furthermore, I have contacted a lawyer who has stated, "You are responsible to pay the amount required to renew or transfer the registration. However, you are not responsible for any penalty amounts."

Worst experience ever DO NOT BUY from these people Ali is a con purchased a vehicle Audi Q5 in March 2020 two weeks exactly it started to leak oil. Called Ali had me take it to his mechanic his own mechanic told me the car had turbo issues and was burning oil. I let Ali know this and all he had to say it is a used car. Which I agree that sometimes you buy a car with the dealer not knowing what is all wrong. But in this case the oil leak had to have been known and the fact that the car was burning engine oil is also something he had to of known about. Long story short the car is now non operable. Needs a new engine. After it's been in the shop 3 other times since I bought it now. The engine needs to be replaced. I've always bought cars from used dealerships. Never an experience like this. The most dishonest people. I don't wish anyone this experience I intend to file a case with BBB

My new ride, Fiona the Fiat.
    Robin C.

I did most of my car buying research online, before I ever arrived at the dealership. I knew I wanted a Fiat and American Motors had two at reasonable prices. My emails were answered in a timely manner, my questions answered to my satisfaction. I arrived at the dealership thinking I wanted the yellow Fiat. (It's really cute and has a sun roof.) A picture of my driver's license was taken and the keys given for an immediate test drive, alone! Who does that in this day and age? It felt nice to be trusted by a stranger. These guys were very kind, considerate and helpful. While waiting for paperwork to go through, I returned home but could not get the green Fiat out of my mind. The next morning, I offered a cash price, on the green car, it was politely declined. Their prices are fair and so rock-bottom, I don't blame them for not coming down on the price but I had to ask. So, I went back and purchased the green Fiat for cash. My car was washed and prepped while I waited for the paperwork to be finished. These guys are great! Social distancing and the customer's comfort are a priority here. It's a small place, but if you are looking for a great car at a fair price - check these folks first. A stranger is simply a friend you haven't met yet.

Before buying, I specifically asked multiple times when the 5-day return guarantee would begin b/c I knew I would be purchasing the vehicle on one day and picking it up another. Everyone I spoke with, including employees at the Buena Park location, told me that it would begin when I picked up the car. When I arrived, I was told by Jose, the finance associate, that the 5-day period had actually started on the date I purchased it several days prior. Since It was a Saturday. That left me w/ only until Monday to decide whether to keep it. Not many auto shops are open on Sunday, b/c it was Saturday evening atp. I expressed my concern and addressed the contradiction. I was told, "I'm sure they'll honor it" if there were any issues, but when I asked for that assurance in writing, Jose refused. I asked to speak with a manager, but he sent in Ed, who he had just advised was not a manager and he also refused. Ed was actually one of the people who told me that my 5 days would start when I picked up the car. He denied this and advised that all calls are recorded. I asked if the transcripts could be pulled up in that case & he says that can't be done. I ask again for the manager and the next guy said he was the sales manager and he finally agreed to put it in writing and extend my return period by an additional two days. I had the car inspected shortly after & was advised to return it. Although my written extension gave me until Wednesday, I returned it on Monday. When I arrived, I was told I had "just made it" within the 5-day return period, which I found odd since I had documentation showing my deadline had been extended. I was then told I had also "just made it" under the 250-mile return limit. That didn't make sense b/c I had barely driven the car. When I asked what mileage they had recorded, I found that my purchase contract listed the exact same mileage that appeared in the online ad, meaning the mileage had never been updated after my test drive. I asked if they included the miles used to transport the vehicle from Torrance to Buena Park. He couldn't confirm, but it seemed to be the only explanation (for at least a fraction of the miles put on me). That's odometer fraud. I asked whether my cash down payment would be refunded to my debit card or by check. He couldn't answer that either. He said that he would find out the following day. When I didn't hear anything, I called on Wednesday. Jose checked on my return and emailed me confirmation that my down payment would be refunded to my debit card. However, I received no confirmation that the loan had been canceled or that the funds had been sent back to my lender. My online banking still shows the full loan amount. Since then, I've spent days trying to get answers. I keep getting transferred to vm after vm, and now my calls from my personal phone go directly to a general vm without reaching anyone. Yet, when I called from my work phone, I reached a person immediately. Once they realized who I was, I was transferred repeatedly. Then, I was put on hold by "JP" for over 30 minutes. When I asked for anybody available in finance. I called back and was told by Bruce that everyone from finance was in a meeting and he would be sure to have someone call me back (4 hours ago). They always act busy when I call, but every time I've gone in, it has been empty/slow. Atp, I've contacted AutoNation's corporate office and I'm waiting for a response. I'll write a separate review about what was wrong w/ the car, but my customer service experience w/ the purchasing, return, and communication process has been terrible. This was my third car that I bought from AN btw, and it will be the last. Update: it has been 24 hours since I've contacted corporate and heard nothing back yet. See my Google review for why I returned the car.

We actually picked the car up the same morning we got off our cruise ship. Since we had friends with us and a long drive back to Arizona ahead of us, I was worried about a long wait. However, the team made the pickup process incredibly fast and easy. The paperwork was handled efficiently, and the wait was very short. Highlights of the experience: The Car: It was exactly as advertised--clean and in great condition. They even made sure to include the Level 1 wall charging cord and the V2L adapter, which I really appreciated. The Team: Everyone was incredibly friendly. Kevin was great to work with over the phone leading up to the sale, and Ruben did an excellent job getting the car prepped and ready for the road. The Logistics: While they stayed firm on the price ($17,938.25), they were very helpful with the out-of-state logistics. They provided a one-day trip pass so I could drive back to AZ and handle the taxes and registration locally. I'm currently waiting on the title, which they've communicated should arrive by next Friday. Out of all the service advisors I've encountered across Mercedes-Benz dealerships, he stands out as the most honest, detail-oriented, and consistent. He takes the time to answer every question thoroughly and keeps me updated throughout the entire process--which, in my experience, is not always the standard elsewhere. That level of transparency and communication is something I really value. The rest of the team is equally professional and welcoming! It's clear the department is well run. This review is strictly to the sales guy Stephen Rodriguez phone number (562)746-8915. When looking over the car I purchased I notice the engine cover was missing. He said it must of been lost during detail. And had assured me before purchasing the car he would order a new one and get it to me asap. Well here we are 3 months later and still no engine cover. We have been back and forth for months now of him giving me the run around and excuses of where the engine cover is. I have had multiple response from him, and now he has officially stopped messaging me back. He has gave me a number to Felipe ( 7145621279)in parts who I have left multiple messages to and he has never responded to me either.
