I wanted to start by saying this is my fourth Honda vehicle. Prior to this purchase, I owned a Honda Civic, Honda Accord, and Honda CR-V, all of which I purchased through Gardena Honda. Every experience there was excellent. The sales team was knowledgeable, attentive, and always followed up after the sale to make sure I was happy with my purchase and to answer any questions I had. After my CR-V, I decided to try another brand and drove a Kia for about three years. When it came time for a new vehicle, I wanted to return to Honda. I happened to be in the Buena Park area and decided to give Honda of Buena Park a chance, expecting the same level of service I had previously received. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. I came in looking to purchase either a Honda Pilot or a Honda Passport because I wanted a spacious SUV for my family. The dealership had a very limited selection of colors. I was strongly leaning toward the Passport with a black exterior and black interior because I have three boys, and I expressed several times that I was concerned about keeping a beige interior clean. My salesperson encouraged me to lease a white Pilot with beige upholstery instead, explaining that the Passport was significantly more expensive and that I would receive a much better deal on the Pilot. I asked whether they could bring in a different color from another dealership, but I was told they could do so only at an additional cost. This surprised me because Gardena Honda had previously been able to locate and transfer the exact vehicle I wanted without mentioning an added fee. Since I needed a vehicle and was told I could trade it in after a couple of years if I wasn't happy with it, I reluctantly agreed to lease the Pilot. I also purchased an upholstery protection package that I was told would help maintain the interior. A few months later, the beige seats have developed a few stains, exactly as I was concerned they would. I have tried multiple times to contact my salesperson by phone and text to ask how I can use the upholstery protection service, but I have not received a single response. Today, I called the dealership directly and was told by the receptionist that my salesperson was assisting another customer and would return my call. Once again, I never received a callback. This has unfortunately been a pattern. Shortly after leasing the vehicle, when my first payment was due, I reached out to my salesperson because it had been several years since I had financed through Honda and I had questions about making my payment. I never received a return call then either and had to figure everything out on my own. What has been most disappointing is the complete lack of communication after the sale. I never received a follow-up call asking whether I was enjoying the vehicle or if I needed assistance with anything. It feels as though the relationship ended the moment the paperwork was signed. At this point, I feel like the priority was simply making the sale rather than building a lasting relationship with the customer. I'm especially frustrated because I am paying each month for an upholstery protection service that I have been unable to use due to the lack of communication. Unless this experience is addressed, I do not plan on leasing or purchasing another vehicle from this dealership. Once my lease is over, I will most likely take my business elsewhere. Honda has interesting working people. I stopped by Buena Park Honda after work to have them put on my license plates that I got from the DMV. I already had terrible experiences with the people at the Cerritos Norm Reeves Honda so I just wanted to go to the Buena Park Honda to not deal with Cerritos again. I gave them both of my new license plates to put on, and well the picture speaks for itself. They literally put both license plates in the back. ‍ I asked them about the second plate, and they just said there wasn't a second plate and to call the DMV. I just went home and did it myself, which I probably should've done in the first place, but I was in the area so I figured why not. I still have my complementary oil change with Honda, so I wonder how that's going to go. read more

Feedback is based on a service appointment scheduled here, bought my 2018 Honda civic at another location but my AC started only blowing hot air. Brought it here and was quoted like $200 something for the diagnostic, Thankfully the issue was the condenser which is covered under their EXTENDED 10 year warranty and not only did they fix my broken AC but they didn't even charge the diagnostic fee which I half expected to pay. Walked in expecting to pay anywhere from 200-2000 to fix my ac and left paying 0 dollars and 0 cents. Staff was kind, location was clean and well maintained, the staff also let me ride the Honda "shuttle" which was their odyssey van to my drop off point while I waited for my car. In no case should you ever bring your vehicle here for maintenance. I came in for a simple oil change. It is covered by my lease warranty. I reminded them at the beginning when the consultant helping me quoted me a price. All is good. Typically even when busy, oil changes don't take as long as it did. 3 HOURS. THREE. At hour 2 I asked what was taking so long. He proceeded to give me someone else's work order to sign and told me I had a due balance. I reminded him AGAIN, I shouldn't owe anything. He assumed my name was sarah and almost gave me ANOTHER work order to sign. I told him the name (which is under my partners name and i repeated so many times) He told me the vehicle was at the car wash and should be out very shortly.. waited another 20-30 minutes, finally came to me to sign. He brought me outside to wait on a blue bench and said they are bringing your car up. Waited again for 10ish minutes and a woman asked to see my documents, she radioed over and said that the vehicle was IN THE CAR WASH. I was over it at that point, I told her I was told it was here and before I was about to say i've been here for almost 3 hours, i just gave up and said it's whatever. The absolute cherry on top is that the guy who brought my vehicle said Do you have the CRV, I said no and said I have a Pilot. He says.... oh my bad I don't know my cars yet. That's a weird thing to say to a guest. Maybe I was just in an irritable mood, but I understand it gets busy, but it seemed like everyone was running with their head cut off. This review is for the service department. Took my vehicle in for wheel alignment . Everything went well until I got home and took a closer look at the computerized wheel alignment report. Right front caster is out of limits by 1 degree and in red. Granted is out by very little but the fact that they just let it go tells me the degree of workmanship at Buena Park Honda. My husband and I had been without a second car for a week so we needed to buy a car immediately. Unfortunately during our car search we discovered that we were also in the middle of a family tragedy, we were experiencing the loss of my unborn neice. We were honest about our situation and how important time and communication was for us. Our sales rep, Channy, was the only person who treated us with compassion. She listened, didn't pressure us, and genuinely cared. She was wonderful. Everything fell apart when we met with finance rep Lorenzo. He assured us that if we decided to choose our credit union's warranty instead of the dealerships, within a couple of days, he would redo the contract and not process our original check. We trusted him. We returned the very next day. Instead of a quick process, my husband was left sitting for almost an hour while Lorenzo ignored him. Only when my husband stood up and asked what was going on did anything move and suddenly he was out the door in minutes. We were treated like our time and our pain didn't matter. Then it got worse. Despite being told the original check would not be used, this dealership negotiated BOTH the original check and the cashier's check leaving us with two loans for the same car. They specifically stated they had the check when my husband returned for the new contract. They lied. We contacted Channy immediately, and she escalated it right away. But no one from leadership reached out. No urgency. No compassion. Hours later, after i reached out again, we finally got a call from Peter, who was cold, unhelpful, and clearly had no idea what to do. I submitted a request through Honda's website to speak with Francisco Razo, the general manager, and only received an automated email from Emma Day. Multiple follow-ups still no real response. We were grieving the loss a beautiful baby girl. This dealership added stress, confusion, and complete indifference on top of our pain. The lack of empathy and accountability here is unbelievable. If this is the level of customer service you're willing to accept, this is the place for you. But for us, the way we were treated especially during one of the darkest moments of our lives was inexcusable. Buena Park Honda lied to me -- twice. Be warned before using this dealer. The short version: In 2024, I leased a Prologue from Buena Park Honda. For a number of reasons, I did not like the vehicle, and after Buena Park Honda contacted me to see if I wanted to return the car and get out of the lease, I went to the dealer and, after assuring me by phone that they were eager to get the vehicle back, at the dealership I was told there that not only did they not want the Prologue returned early, the only way I could return it was to pay the 14 remaining payments. They did this to me two times in less than a year. Clearly, the outreach was just a ploy to get me back into the dealership, and trade up to another car. I bought my car in August 2025, took it for an oil change, and the mechanic said I have a transmission leak. I called Honda where I purchased the car from and they said I have to pay for a diagnostic test before they would even consider fixing the issue. It falls under the power train and I also purchased an extended warranty. The extended warranty paperwork I have, says nothing about having to pay to even get my car checked out. Then I say, what good is a warranty that you have to pay to have your vehicle checked out. I even paid over 3500 dollars for my extended warranty. Leilani was the one contacting me for follow-up regarding the vehicle I was interested in. Today, Saturday, August 15, a very busy day at work, I arranged to leave early so I could go to Buena Park Honda to make my purchase. When I arrived, one of the sales representatives helped me, took my information, and shortly after came back to tell me that the car had already been sold. I expressed how upset I was with this news and explained that I had scheduled my appointment through their website specifically for that car. The Bait: Internet sales rep Letty Ulloa promised me an out-the-door price of $37,000 for a CR-V Hybrid Sport-L. I explicitly confirmed this price for this exact model multiple times through text, email, and over the phone. 2. The Switch: The second I arrived at the dealership, they claimed it was a "communication error" and completely changed the quote to a much higher price. 3. I eventually purchased the car, but when I received the official Honda customer satisfaction survey, I gave them the lowest possible rating and explicitly called out their bait-and-switch pricing tactics. 4. The Bribe: The very next day, the Sales Manager called me directly. He offered me a complimentary 3-year maintenance plan if I agreed to change my survey rating to a positive score. 5. I agreed to this offer in good faith, updated the survey, and submitted a positive review as requested. 6. The Ghosting: It has been a month since submitting the survey. Honda Buena Park has failed to provide any official documentation or contract for the maintenance plan. I have tried contacting them repeatedly through emails and phone calls, and I am being completely ignored. I kept my word and updated their corporate review because I acted in good faith and trusted them. They did not do the same. Honda Buena Park is deceptive, unprofessional, and frankly, a sad place to be or work for. I feel bad for the people there. One of the truly worst experiences I've ever enountered. I took my 2020 Civic Si in for a routine oil change 4 weeks ago. The service advisor recommended new sparks plugs and a valve cleaning as part of "routine maitenance" and the total cost was $800. After taking the vehicle home, I noticed a burning/oil smell coming from the engine block. Turns out the oil dipstick was never re-installed after the oil change. Oil leaked all over the engine block for days and I had to bring the car back in to have them fix it. They confirmed everything was good to go and returned the car back to me. 5 days later, the same smell returned and I found oil leaking in the engine block again. This time they said the valve gaskets were defective which was causing a second leak. The gaskets were suppossed to replaced in the upcharge service it was recommended I complete. It was now the 3rd time in 3 weeks I've had to leave my car with these incompetent mechanics and my frustration has completely boiled over. When the car was brought back for the dipstick missing they had a chance to fix their second mistake but failed. The manager only offered a $200 refund and was not there when I picked up the car so I could talk to him in person. It's one thing to make a mistake but not being able to own up to it and make it right for the customer is completely unacceptable. This is also the kind of mistake that you would never expect from a dealer and their non-chalant response is even more infuriating. read more

So, I bought my Honda CRV there and HATED the experience! The sales associate we worked with was Joseph. He was dismissive, rude and didn't even care that he was making a sale. Honestly, the only reason we continued with it was because this color wasn't at Hardin Honda, a dealership I 100% recommend. I asked for my coupon for the free 1st oil change and he had the nerve to tell me, "What are you talking about, do you know how much money we'd lose if we gave everyone who bought a new car a free oil change? We don't do that here." I also added things to my car, like the paint protection. I was told to call him when I wanted to set the appointment. I did, my husband did, I did again, then finally my husband went in and said, "Hey, my wife has been trying to get a hold of you to make the appointment." A few years earlier, we bought a Honda Accord through Hardin Honda and that experience was AMAZING. I live not too far away from Buena Park Honda and I will drive the 10 miles to Hardin to have my car serviced. That's how much I hate Buena Park Honda. The guys at Hardin Honda treat you with respect and are super kind. I even let them know about what happened during the purchase and they said they can get the color of car I wanted. So next time. I had an amazing experience when I went in person to this dealership to buy a car on 9/29. My salesperson Jose, was friendly, courteous, and I really appreciated working with him. We came to a deal for the car I wanted and he even set up transport for the car to my house in Northern California 400 miles away from the dealership. I also want to mention Winston in financing who was knowledgeable and very helpful as well. Overall, my in person experience was great, and every person I encountered in the dealership was wonderful. I had visited another dealer in LA the same day and their customer service left ALOT to be desired. My car was delivered to my front door on 10/1 which was fantastic. The cons of my experience started after my delivery. Jose and I had agreed on a few parts being shipped to my house because they weren't available in the dealership when I was there. Unfortunately, receiving these parts in a timely manner has been an issue. I don't think this is Jose's fault, but it's frustrating to be treated as an afterthought when I had such a great experience in the dealership. I'm still waiting on three items to be shipped to me and it's been over 2 weeks since I bought the car.
