Went there yesterday Andrew was super sweet. I had the mushroom pizza, not sure the name, I added the sausage. While I waited I was offered a courtesy wine, just lovely. Came home baked it - crust was perfect (crust can make or break a pizza!) so happy with the taste and flavors of this pizza. I highly recommend. Instead, you pay restaurant prices for what's basically a frozen pizza except it's not frozen. I've actually had much better quality frozen pizzas than this at like 1/4 of the price. American Pizza Mfg is a Take and Bake Pizza establishment -you order one of their signature pies (or create your own pie with whatever ingredients you want), it is assembled, and shrink wrapped fresh to take home to bake at your leisure. These pizzas are not cooked, just assembled with the ingredients you love, and packaged with instructions to bake at home. It's like your own refrigerated pizza from a local grocer, but without the preservatives and freshly manufactured on-the-spot especially for you. They also have nice dessert options - we ordered the take and bake chocolate chip cookie, but will try other dessert options at a later date. What we especially love about American Pizza Mfg are the extensive veggie offerings, the goat cheese option on the menu, and the Cutie Pie Kit for a kids pizza party. As a vegetarian, it is nice to find a place with plant-based options, and to be able to create your own vegetarian pizza or vegan pizza is not an easy find. We did curbside delivery for our order, and Andrew had the best customer service and common courtesy with the delivery of our order. We are a military family of six and we appreciate that our sacrifices are appreciated with a 15% military discount offered (military families need to call in to receive this discount or show military identification before payment). My partner and I loved the concept of this place so we decided we have to try it. I unfortunately was quite disappointed in the pizza. We had the BBQ pizza that one of the guys working recommended to me, the pizza was very bland and we had the mushroom pizza with prosciutto which was much better flavored but overall on both pizzas I was disappointed in the dough. Delicious pizza. And, as usual, it's very much about the crust. Never had a take-n-bake with a crust better than in-house pizza, but this one accomplished that. We had the Margarita (they call it something else) - generous red sauce and real mozzarella, with fresh basil. I am confident that the more complicated pies were made of equally fine ingredients. Stopped in after the beach with my sisters. The gentleman at the register was awesome! He informed us they are a take & bake & also have a small selection of 10' personal pizzas. We ordered 2 pizzas & a salad (we're staying at a hotel so we can't bake them). The pizzas were so good & the dough was light with the yummiest cheese. As it was our last night in La Jolla, daughter suggested pizza delivery- we found out this place is just .2 mile walk away and I liked the 'take and bake' idea so we'd have hot pizza. Hubs and I built our own Cali crust with speck, pepper mix, sun dried tomatoes and calibrian Chile and daughter had regular crust. About 10 mins in the over for each and we had fantastic pizza. Crust was crisp and just perfect on both pizzas! We also shared an Italian salad between the three of us- it was huge! About $46 and that included 20% off of you download and order thru app. Easy peasy. Now we go home to Phoenix and I will have to see if we have anyplace like this around us!! read more

Like who doesn't want a hot fresh pizza right out of the oven. We usually order the cauliflower crust which is phenomenal. We actually prefer it over the regular crust. Every bite is a flavor explosion. Looking at the pizza it doesn't seem like anything special but after cooking it and having that first piping hot bite it makes all of your pizza dreams come true. I usually order the Deere and my friends and husband will customize theirs and every pizza we have had has been soo good! I love adding extra veggies and vegan cheese once I'm home to my pizza and the Calabrian chili's make all the difference so i definitely recommend adding those to any pizza if you like a little bit of heat. I have mixed feelings. I love this type of pizza experience as my family grew up getting pizza from a local take and bake. First, the ingredients are totally fresh which was a plus. My problem was the crust. It was so thin we could barely get it to cook and some parts completely collapsed through the crust. It was at this point more fork and knife quality. Which was okay. we cooked it for 20 minutes and the middle crust just would not cook to a point it was going to support the pizza. Overall flavor and taste (the toppin was great, I would suggest making the dough maybe a little thicker to support the weight of the pizza. read more

The take and bake pizza concept has arrived in the La Jolla area. You can order one of the seven preset styles, and the kitchen will make the pizza pie fresh to-go. They won't cook it for you but rather provide instructions on how to optimally bake the pizza in the oven when you get home. Lasagna, mac 'n cheese, four salads, and two desserts rounded out the rest of the menu. I chose The Flyer which was one of the most popular types. Homemade ruby red tomato sauce, freshly grated mozzarella, bold & spicy pepperoni, and a parmesan sprinkle made up this pizza. I put it in my oven for 16 minutes to get the crunchy crust I had desired. The pepperoni slices were quite salty for my taste but other than that, the rest of the components were just fine. Their fresh pizzas are superior to any of the frozen and reheat brands you can get at the market. We are in La Jolla a couple of times per year. This visit it was rainy and we didn't want to go out so ordered delivery from here based on reviews. Since we had a full kitchen, we preferred to bake our own. The pizzas were just average take-and-bake and we felt that they were quite overpriced for the quality and meager quantity of toppings. The crust was good, but pies were generally skimpy and not reflective of the cost. Regrettably, we will not go back on our next visit to La Jolla. read more

This review is for the lasagna and Frank's Chicken Pasta. They are both incredibly generous in size and will easily feed 4+ people. The lasagna is slightly larger and is a really solid bulletproof dish. It withstands a reheat and tastes as good the second time. I'd rate it at or near the top against any lasagna in the village, but the price/value is in a league of its own. I didn't know what to expect from Frank's, but it ended up being one of the tastiest pasta dishes I've ever eaten. It is flat out fabulous! Paired with the Palm Desert salad we were blown away with how successful this meal was. It had a perfect balance of heat and richness and was again a very generous portion.
