Loved this place! My friends and I walked by while in the way to watch the sunset at the beach and this was a perfect dinner to grab and go! That being said, it was dinner time so they got pretty busy so just be patient, they don't take too long. There was a special where you get two slices and a drink and that was sooo perfect. I don't think I was able to finish all my slices but I wish I could have. I had the chicken bbq pizza and loved it very much. A little disappointed in the service. I ordered 23 pizzas and 8 salads, and they didn't send any plates, napkins, or utensils with the order (for 72 people). And, they outsource their delivery through Uber which adds another layer of confusion. Thankfully the delivery driver went back for me!!! Dough Momma's daily slices ($4.75) look and smell amazing -- the pizzas actually reminded us of a favorite spot back home, which is why we decided to try it. But the resemblance stopped there. The crust here was noticeably thicker and the slices smaller, and the taste didn't hold up either. We ordered the burrata margherita, chicken pesto, and a combo slice, and all three fell flat -- bland crust, bland sauce, and toppings that were spread way too thin. The bigger issue was an order mix-up: my dad asked for the burrata margherita but was served a regular margherita instead, with no explanation. We later learned burrata margherita is only sold as a whole pie, not by the slice -- fine, but someone should have told him instead of just swapping it. To make it worse, his slice came with dried basil and an unexpected garlic cream sauce that looked more like something out of a bottle than a real preparation. My chicken pesto slice had maybe three small pieces of chicken total and not much flavor otherwise. The combo slice only tasted good when you happened to catch a bite with toppings on it -- the crust and sauce alone added nothing. Between the flavorless food, the order mistake, thinner/smaller portions than expected, and staff who weren't especially warm or friendly, we left wishing we'd just gone to the local pizzeria around the corner instead. We chose it out of convenience, and the pizza was much better than necessary for our purposes. I ordered through Postmates and my husband walked over to pick up our pizza. We got a family combo pack, which came with two specialty and two one-topping pies for $89. This was more than enough food for five adults and four children. Our hotel rooms had fridges, and I ate several leftover slices over the next couple of days. We got one cheese, one pepperoni, one spinach ricotta, and one meatball, adding jalapeño to the meatball for an extra $1.50. The pizza was tasty and satisfying in that classic Ninja Turtles kind of way, with sturdy crusts, gooey cheese, and flavorful sauce and toppings. I really enjoyed the meatball with jalapeño and the spinach ricotta, a white pie with mozzarella, spinach, garlic, and ricotta. This was a cheap, easy dinner for two families on beach vacation. I'd highly recommend Dough Momma if you find yourself in similar circumstances, or if you just want some good pizza in La Jolla. read more

They had a private event here so it was a bit unorganized and crowded. There were random people standing around inside the small space and none of the workers greeted us. Maybe they were overwhelmed by a lot of people. Once we did order, they did let us know there was a private event and the inside was closed which was fine so we sat outdoors. We were only able to order whatever slices were out on display for them to warm up like Sbarro. We ordered 2 of the walk-in special which includes 2 slices of pizza and a beer for $14. So in all we ordered 2 loaded combo slices, 1 margherita slice, 2 spicy Hawaiians, 3 for $5 garlic knots, and the 8 piece spicy teriyaki wings. The wings were sweet and good but no spice. The garlic knots came with marinara sauce which were really good. We tried the spicy Hawaiian and loaded combo slices and all were really good thin crust slices. Location is right next to the beach so it's convenient to be able to grab a bite. Parking is really tough though. read more
