I initially came to the shop with a Groupon. Talk about first class the work they do here in the quality I am very pleased with. I came for window tinting and a new stereo I love with both and very happy even have a backup camera as I have an older truck. So now my old truck seems new I am very happy! My 2011 Toyota Prius has very dim headlights when I arrived at Capitol Tint and Customs. I was getting nervous about driving at night. John explained the process of refurbishing the outside of the headlights and suggested that I should consider an upgrade to the actual headlight bulbs. He showed me some of the choices and I went with the first level of improvement. Normally this process takes about three hours but mine ran longer though. Buy it was worth the time and the money. Even in the bright afternoon sun, I could see the headlights shining on the buildings wall in the parking spot my Prius was brought to. While night driving still bothers me, I now can see better ahead of me and on both sides of the road going forward. I purchased the Groupon deal and in the end they still charged me $215 on top of it. Before I bought the Groupon deal I called and I spoke to John and he specifically said the entire cost would be $215 dollars. But when it was time to pick up my car he said it as $215 more! Which was not what he explained to me, he then turned it around as I didn't understand the conversation. I even confirmed the same information when I originally dropped off my vehicle that the entire total including the Groupon deal was $215. Had I known this I certainly would have gone somewhere else because I did receive a quote that was cheaper than $341 total (total of $215 I gave in cash along with the cost of the Groupon deal)! Don't go here, they lied about original pricing. On my receipt he even put $0 for the Groupon amount. When I brought it to his attention he then moves forward with I can change that. He flat out robbed me of $215 rather than charging me the difference. That's the kind of business the owner gives. Terrible don't come here! read more

A Masterclass in Incompetence and Evasion I was advised to put down a deposit on a used system. I did--naively assuming that professionalism and integrity were part of the package. Turns out, they sold it to someone else. Why? Because the employee I dealt with couldn't be bothered to print the paperwork or log it into their system. So I showed up for my scheduled installation only to discover that my deposit meant absolutely nothing. I should've written a review a long time ago. A few years ago, I had Capital Tint tint my windshield, fronts, rears, back and sunroof. Some of those windows had factory tint in the glass. Some didn't. I worked directly with John (the owner, and a great guy) and he helped me select the right grade (quality) of tint and the correct percentage of tint so that the end result had everything matching and looking great. (That was a few years ago and all of that tint is like new. My truck lives outside in Vegas so I have to give two thumbs up for the quality of the tint and the quality of the install) They did a small interior light kit for me too, and installed an aftermarket steering wheel for me. The technicians working for John are all talented and professional. And this shop does a lot more than tint and steering wheels. Like other customers that have left reviews here previously, I too am disappointed in the quality of work we received for the amount of money that we paid. We live in North Las Vegas and traveled to the other end of town to "get what we were paying for" and ended up making two extra all day trips for them to finally get our tint job right. We definitely won't be coming here again. Like Jessica said, John is a pretty big jerk and would practically laugh in my face every time we had to bring my car back because he knew how annoyed and frustrated I was that they couldn't do the job right. Amended Review: I don't edit reviews usually. But when an owner reaches out....it lets me know they value their business and care about reviews. That being said-the initial review about the Groupon price being misleading is still true and I don't recommend purchasing it. However, the owner, John, did let me know that he was changing the fine print on the add to be more clear. I appreciate that and hope it happens soon. I still have a pending charge from purchasing window tints that doesn't aid my current situation and further delays my window tint journey. But John(the owner) was very direct and wanted explain to the pricing as well as what each tint type is and how it works in heat rejection. Although I have chosen another company for my window tint journey, a business that cares about what is said about their company says a lot. So if you're considering this company--speak with the owner, John. He'll point you in the right direction. This business was listed on Groupon. The price for my particular vehicle was $117 on Groupon. And $95 on Yelp. I purchased the Groupon because... that's not a bad deal. After I purchased the Groupon...I called to make an appointment. The gentleman who answered the phone informed me that no matter where I buy the deal...they have to charge $185 for the tints. That's the "lowest they can go". Like we're debating a price! Right. The deal is only for 5 windows. And ALMOST every 4-door car made AFTER 2000 has 2 little windows bringing the total to 7 windows. The price is inaccurate and misleading. Groupon/Yelp doesn't say in the fine print (which I Love reading) that there's a mandatory additional fee bringing your total to $185. The guy I spoke to-who's name escapes me....very dryly and very nonchalantly told me basically to call Groupon and get a refund if I didn't like it.I guess they have plenty of business and don't need more. This place was recommended by Mercedes to have a stereo system installed. We took it our rv in to have the stereo, antenna and speakers installed. They had it over 2 weeks and never installed the speakers. Made another appointment for the speakers again they had it for over 2 more weeks. During the time they had our RV they did over $7000 in damage to the rear end and refused to give us insurance information. JOHNNY the owner wanted to fix it themselves. It still not fixed. My experience with Capital is bittersweet. Simply put: Cons = needed appointment; unsuspecting fees on top of a Groupon Pro = good job *Tip* If going with a Groupon (for any business), search Yelp reviews for "Groupon." Try starting with this one. I had just bought a new car and the dealer nearby recommended this place. I also saw a Groupon ($70 for five windows), so with this and the recommendation, I jumped on the deal (should've done my research). So I call in advance and they tell me today, Saturday, is too busy and they're closed on Sundays. Also, I can't come in on weekdays because of the distance and they'll closed by the time I'm off work. So I schedule an appointment for TWO WEEKS AWAY. Still on the phone, this is how it goes: (it's all relevant btw) Cap: "What kind of car is it?" Me: "2017 Civic Hatchback" Cap: "Okay, your appointment's set for two weeks from today. Keep in mind it starts at $130" Me: "Oh wait, I have the Groupon" Cap: "What's the voucher number?" Me: "########" Cap: "Great, just to let you know, your car has an inconvenience fee of $60 because your car has a difficult rear window" I'm thinking, what the f***?! For why did I buy a Groupon then? There were no additional fees in the fine print. Also, why didn't he tell me about the extra fee at the time I told him what my car was? I figured out why: he asked for the Groupon voucher number. Once I view the voucher, Groupon cannot cancel or refund the deal... so I was stuck with the deal and the extra fee. I'll be paying $130 (at least) with the Groupon deal or without it. Fast forward two weeks later and $60 less (also spent additional $70 on an upgraded tint which is backed by a warranty), the tint looks good. I saw the workbays and where the tinting is done. If sitting and standing around qualifies as negative then I wonder what planet you are making a comparison to John. I never asked for free product from you or your company. I only asked for comparable compensation as you extended to others. And I still paid you. The payment cleared at the register. Or are you upset you could not up sell me? Remember we spoke about everything and it seems you only were regretful about me being honest. I purchased an Auto Start through Carmax for my vehicle. The problems first started when we set up the appointment and they sent an email stating it would only take 3-5 hours to complete. We dropped my car off for our scheduled appointment right on time. We called 5 hours later and then stated it would be another 2 hours, we showed up at that time and my car still was not done and it would be another hour at 5 pm when they closed. Once we picked up my vehicle there were several things wrong that we could see right away. The steering column wasn't put my back together and under it hanging wires. Then after further inspection of their awful work there was hanging wires under my vehicle and were they connected it to the engine is a joke. ( photos attached ). We were offered my vehicle to be brought back in but I don't have a whole day to waste again without a car. After reading previous reviews now this company is a scam and takes the cheapest ways possible to give services. read more

Never heard of this place before seeing them on Groupon. We ended up buying the window tinting special for our car they advertised. They were very accommodating for a appointment which was great for us because they were pretty far from where we live. One of the employees who helped us was very helpful and explained everything in detail. We explained we were moving and he even looked up the state rules for Window tinting. The guarantee is for any company who carries the product they used. We waited for the car to be done and it wasn't that long at all. Maybe 1 1/2 hours at the most. When they were done the car looked great. The tint was perfect. They explained how long before you can roll the windows down. Excellent place to go. They do not stand behind their product or work. I brought my vehicle in for window tint. The back passenger windows and rear back window had bubbles, so I called and was given an appointment to have it looked at. The day of they looked at it and said some had to be replaced and another window could be touched up. Upon completion of the work being redone the back window wasn't touched, so they pulled my vehicle back inside end result being the tint installer made a few excuses why it still had bubbles in back window, " oh their is carpeting in the back so it's harder to do" " in that area it's easy to get contamination " " oh it's like a 1 in 3 chance this happens " okay you knew that when the job was accepted by your company if you couldn't do it the right way you should not have accepted the job. read more

John Bernal the owner discriminates American Disabled Veterans Called November 10th 2020 (2 days) before I drove 24 miles to Capital Tint and Customs to retrieve the check John agreed to give me in the amount of $100. After he and his crew couldn't fix the remote start they installed. He waited until there weren't any customers and verbally kicked me out of his showroom and then called the Henderson police. I am a severely disabled veteran and my experience with John have increased my stress and problems I face No VWs DO NOT take your Volkswagen here! They CANNOT successfully install remote start to any and all VW cars. You will be as disappointed as I am. No refunds either. A year later and my remote start still doesn't work. They love your business until you need something fixed Capital Tint & Custumes does not practice social distancing and doesn't have any partitions. It's COVID infested Poor customer service earns Capital Tint & Custumes a 1 star for the opportunity to educate consumers appropriately. September 2019 I hired Capital Tint & Custumes to upgrade my vehicle with a backup camera, remote start, window tint, a new stereo deck with apple car play and a viper security alarm which cost over $2000. After they had my car 5 days I noticed the whole in my rear bumper cover with a camera through it. They never asked me to damage my car instead of putting it above the license plate on the trunk door as requested. Also I was given one of my factory remote keys that had been torn apart after I was told they didn't need a key to bypass the factory alarm. I had to return 3 times to correct the camera installation. I required their services to repair some of the electrical equipment they installed while under warranty. After the second 5 hour wait time 20 miles from my home in their shop I received an excuse from the shop manager that the daughter of the tech who was responsible for breaking parts of my dash to adjust the defective viper remote hstart and alarm system has been in another accident and was in the hospital again and no work was completed to my vehicle. (6/13/2020) I'm sitting in the waiting area again(4th day). This time it's been 2 hours and my vehicle is still not in their shop. The front desk clerk Shea is trying to program a DS4+ to replace the defective DS4. He's not certified by viper to operate on their equipment and I don't think their tech is either(who hasn't shown up yet. I arrived at 0930 it's now 1143). 1151am After asking the tech about his daughter he replied "I have 3 son's". I've also been waiting for 3 hours with no update to what's happening. I finally received a phone call (Friday 6/26/20)from John with Shea and Brendan on the lines. They assumed no responsibility of problems they caused from the work they did. They tried to bully me to taking down this statement of facts on Yelp and into thinking their equipment was working perfectly and it's now my car that has problems. The tech also insisted over the phone to pressure me into letting him rewire my car again for the fifth time and wants to keep my car for days until they fix it without giving me any kind of transportation. I asked for a refund during this call (6/26/2020) but John refused. The tech wanted to show me photos to legitimize his claim to building police cars after he stated he did not work for the police department. They hire their own. The problems they've encountered with my business are trying to be solved with trial and error. They're creating more problems like shorting out my dash lights and my highbeams no longer work and my patience is out. 8-10-2020 Those certificates don't say anything about viper or car alarm systems. EV means emergency vehicles Brandon works as a police vehicle installer and his words were "if they can't fix it, they call me". I spoke to the LVMPD and they don't know him. He works m-f 8-4. And can only work at Capital Tint Custumes at 4:30pm weekdays or Saturdays from 1130 on(I waited over 5 hours on two different Saturdays which Shea scheduled and during so lied that he was on his way and never showed then told me the techs daughter was in the hospital both times. Brandon told me he doesn't have a daughter). I didn't want to leave my only mode of transportation for 4 more days while they tried to fix their mistakes An hour to diagnose the problem? I watched Shea tear apart not one but two brand new DS4+ viper security systems boxes until the second one finally took to the cord he was trying to plug into it so he could flash the device and program it. He looked as if he'd never done it before. Until I brought my vehicle back in June. John Bernal had no idea I had spent so much time in his shop. I feel he wasn't the personal car professional he's claiming to be. I gave Capital Tint Custumes fare opportunities to handle this. read more
